Excellent article, very well written. Thank you for putting this together, and I think most of us would agree with about 90 - 95% of the players mentioned. My only difference of opinion is the badge. We need to accept, whether we like it or not, we are no longer at the Boleyn.
The castle, I am sure we all know, represents Green Street House, which was knocked down in 1955, which stood adjacent to Upton Park. Sadly, those times are gone, Upton Park has gone. I am 68 and attended games since I was a boy. Do I miss the old stadium? Yes, of course I do, but have I accepted we had to move with the times? Of course. Do I like the LS? Yes, and I also like the view from my seat. There are many things wrong with the LS, but there were also many things wrong with UP. Nowhere is perfect, and there are many teams that play at a ground with a running track who don't moan and have brilliant atmospheres.
Probably the most famous is Stade de France, followed by Stadio Olimpico, which Roma and Lazio share; both are farther away from the pitch than we are, but create a fantastic atmosphere and noise. There are many other multi purpose grounds around the world that have a running track and have a football pitch in the middle.
Hopefully someone will buy the stadium for our use for peanuts and make it into the stadium it should have been (yes, Mr Coe, we are talking about you). Until then, let's just make the best of how it is at the moment and get behind the team, and before you ask, yes I am fully for something like the current badge but without London on it.

It is not the stadium that makes the atmosphere but the players on it. The last few seasons, the football has been poor. I was at our European nights when it was rocking.

You are both right. I was also there for every European night, and the atmosphere was electric in some of them and great in others. Something we all agree is that if the football is good, so is the atmosphere. If the football is crap, so is the atmosphere.

Totally agree with those last points. It's all about the football produced. One of my mates recently went to watch Napoli V Atalanta. The stadium is probably designed even more for athletics, much further from the action than the KS, but the atmosphere was amazing.

Decent assessment Die 4. I don't know all the potential targets you put up, just the more obvious ones. I've always rated Yves B, and even though he is old, Solly March could be good. My only concern would be how many would still be viable for the prem, in which case we would need wholesale change again, otherwise we turn into a team continually going up, going down.
I don't think all the younger options out there are prohibitively expensive. Just my take on it.

Good post, Die4, and all makable deals. The free agents can also be signed after Tuesday (I believe). With JWP's wages off the bill now as well, surely most of these, and perhaps adding Harwood-Bellis into the mix, are financially viable.

My brother-in-law is a Leeds season ticket holder and has this to say about Ramazani:
“I don't rate him. He is a bit of a show pony, ok to bring on when you're winning, but he doesn't track back.”
He also said we are getting an excellent player in Piroe.

In answer to your question, Stevie 66, yes, in what was the League Cup, but not in FA Cup or the league. Unless, of course, purse there is a stipulation in the loan agreement.

Very early days yet, but there are hints of Rice in the way Orford plays.
Protects the back four well, reads the game positionally, moves the ball forward from deep and can suddenly appear in the opposition box.
I have high hopes.

The young lads did exceptionally well. Golembeckis looks comfortable and assured as a CB, Meyers did ok, Ajala scored a couple, but Orford was the best player on the park.
When the first teamers came on with half an hour to go, we upped the pace, and Soton were completely outplayed.
That was by far our best performance this year.
Early prediction. Orford will be hammer of the year if he stays fit.

How are they playing, Mark? I have been saying for ages, there should be more of our youth side given a chance, because technically they are superior to many of the so-called senior players. You could see it in the friendlies. The team always improved when the youth were involved.

M7ch better tonight young uns all did well, played without fear and showed some balls after going 1 down, Veltman looked solid, Orford was really good, ditto Ajala, Golenbekis (I hope thats right!) was solid as well, all in all a good night's work.

I sadly didn't see, so can only go on the stats and the rave reviews on here. But it also sounds like he didn't try and park the bus!
Let's hope the academy players play far more of a role in the season ahead.
