Philips done deal loan till June option to buy

mercerl

1.) 23 Jan 2024 17:49:51
So who does he replace? Soucek? That would give us midfield 3 of alvarez, ward prowse and Phillips.not bad but, we need full backs, a left winger cause benrahma is leaving and a striker!

2.) 23 Jan 2024 20:55:36
Moyes won't drop Soucek. It'll be the Steiden choice Alvarez who's for the chop.

3.) 23 Jan 2024 21:06:48
We don't really need a left winger, just play Cornet in his actual position. For all the pelters he gets from the fans, myself included the poor bloke's only ever been played once in his proper LW position in the PL.

4.) 25 Jan 2024 15:40:36
If we drop ALVAREZ then it's crazy as if your telling me he ain't better than SOUCEK then DD is totally lost the plot.⚒⚒⚒

5.) 26 Jan 2024 17:36:03
Personally i am very pleased with the Phillips loan deal. He is exactly the player we need alongside Alvarez AND he can fill in for Alvarez when missing. Currently we have nobody to replace Alvarez when he is missing (and it shows when he is gone), we all see Soucek and Prowse cannot do it, and this guy can do it as well as being Alvarez partner in CM. Can pick a great ball for counter attacks as well, which Souceck is not so great at. All round a VERY good bit of business, and the guys is such a nice character, a player we can really get behind and personally i hope he signs permanently, although £40m for a soon to be 29 year old is a lot!
Yes we still need a LM, ST and a backup LB. I like the look of this Osimen that we are linked with. let's be honest he will not start as Paqueta will be our LM for the forseable, but it gives Moyes options, which is why i actually think a LM is more important than a ST at the moment IMO

23 Jan 2024 13:35:07
Talksport evidently reporting Trevor Chalobah from Chelsea for £25m

mercerl

1.) 24 Jan 2024 20:54:55
Would be a fantastic signing for us. Been a bit unlucky at Chelsea I reckon and he does have his fair share of admirers within the Chelsea fans ranks.

£25M is a very fair price and we should be all over it. We won't but we should be.

19 Jan 2024 18:11:21
West Ham interested, supposing LY, in Plymouth attacking midfielder Morgan Whittaker 14 goals on 27 games isn't bad for championship

mercerl

1.) 19 Jan 2024 23:06:35
Well I hope he’s more Bowen than Hugill, but what do I know?

2.) 20 Jan 2024 15:53:32
West ham in every window are always interested in everybody. It's comical

3.) 26 Jan 2024 06:46:59
Then we actually get one dM who hasn't been playing regularly for a couple of years, and is now getting on a bit.

4.) 26 Feb 2024 11:28:59
A fouler whom ships goals, to boot.

29 Dec 2023 13:57:47
West Ham have offered David Moyes a 2 year extension to his contract that's going to be interesting

mercerl

1.) 30 Dec 2023 23:03:53
Not quite true. Negotiations over a new contract have not yet taken place. They are due to take place early in January. Rumour has it that the new contract will be unlike his current agreement in that it will contain performance clauses which will enable the club to fire him without financial loss if results drop off. Performance indicators are common in German contracts. Also, Moyes will have to agree to having no say in transfers. If he wants to stay at WHU, he’ll have to agree to these terms.

2.) 31 Dec 2023 22:57:33
While I was furious with the lineup for the Carabao Cup and I hate it when we are camped in our own box. The games against Man Utd and Arsenal were good team efforts and felt a bit more positive. Beat Brighton on Tuesday and perhaps were the real deal.

Have been on the fence for a while about Moyes but 2023 has been a successful year for WHUFC so I think Moyes can stay. 6/7 years ago we had maybe 8/11 of a team (remember Roberto) . Now we have about 14/11. The change started with Zouma. Clear some journeymen by summer.

Buy 2 or 3 more class players and play the kids a bit more from the bench (hard for Moyes) but the team are united and with a couple more Tim purchase we build good depth. We need this now as Europe should happen more often.

Saudi money for Aguerd would be good and we need Ings’s wages off the books. I’d keep Benrahma for now but put JWP on pens. Cresswell, Fornals, Ings, Johnson and Aguerd in January and perhaps Antonio /Kehrer in the Summer.

Happy new year to you and yours ??⚒️

3.) 01 Jan 2024 22:56:16
Kib with what u write is ok but i still don't think Moyes is who we need yes on paper he looks the real deal but if u watch WH our brand
of football has been terrible, we got results but WH are in the entertanment business and let's be frank some of our victories have been rubbish and very lucky. i'm glad to see if he gets a new contract he has no say on who is purchased yes he can recommend and perhaps this is the way to go

4.) 02 Jan 2024 22:47:11
Before all the blinkered “Moyes fans” start towelling Desperate Dave’s feet after his walk on water, I still think we’ll have a different decent manager next season. No way is DD going to agree to the terms the poison dwarf will offer him. I think Steidten has already identified his replacement and he will be in the chair next season. We’ll see.

5.) 05 Jan 2024 16:07:16
If those contract talks regarding performance related results and no dealings in transfers then I cannot see DD accepting those terms as he's a control freak just like SULLY so imo this is a polite way of saying thanks for your services well I hope and pray it is.⚒⚒⚒

05 Aug 2023 07:09:22
C and H reporting it's a done deal Scamacca to Atalanta for £24M another Moyes c**k up and a loss of £7m Moyes has got to go it's just one after another

mercerl

1.) 05 Aug 2023 23:15:46
Played 27 games for WHUFC and has only asked to leave because he detes DM, another HALLER saga with the club buying a player and not playing him tactically to his advantages, I thought when you targeted a player you knew his strengths and weaknesses and play him to the letter oh I forgot not under this management.⚒⚒⚒

2.) 06 Aug 2023 08:16:15
I have to agree with that. How bizarre is it to buy a player because how well they have been doing the way they play - then tell them to play completely differently?

I’ve never understood it.

3.) 06 Aug 2023 08:56:31
It's like women whom hook up with a guy presumably because they like many things about him ; then immediately proceed to try and change him.

4.) 06 Aug 2023 17:57:05
So to replace Scamacca we approach Bournemouth for Solanke? This is how high we set our ambition?

5.) 10 Aug 2023 08:22:39
Junior Stanislas is after a welcome home too. don't tell Davy. He's about 35 Moyes would get him in a heartbeat.

Reports on West Ham bringing Wilf Zaha back from Turkey. I always thought good player but a bit moody and injury prone.

mercerl

1.) 25 Mar 2024 13:06:05
At 31, he’s too old.

2.) 27 Mar 2024 12:31:33
We also have 2 of the top wingers in the league. Why would we even entertain signing him?

Surely a striker, right back and centre backs are the main focus?

3.) 27 Mar 2024 19:42:56
Who's the wingers TKHammer BOWEN and?

11 Mar 2024 07:49:24
The performance yesterday just not good enough over 90 minutes but we have to discuss the level of refereeing. The blatant time wasting from James Trafford taking forever with kicks and the continual falling down of Burnley players was appalling. Now. You have to remember this was the same ref who let Bristol City get away with murder in the FA cup replay. The standard of refereeing in this country is at an all time low in my opinion.

mercerl

17 Feb 2024 17:16:33
Another abject performance again today we need a goal and Philips has been booked he dithers around and by the time he's ready to make a sub it's too late. I think Philips realises he's made a mistake playing for Moyes and is trying to get back to City. Kudos and Bowen missing today but without Paqueta I'm not surprised. Moyes needs to go NOW he's clueless

mercerl

1.) 17 Feb 2024 18:41:48
We now becoming easy to beat. I wouldn’t say Moyes is clueless that’s very harsh, but getting beat consistently creates a moody squad, especially with a new face in Phillips with game fitness and awareness that is way off the pace. Not scoring in the last 3 now is a big concern.

The next manager choice is very important as if we are to go with a championship manager then I strongly believe we will go backwards very quickly.

The board need to be positive and back a high calibre manager to push WH on.

2.) 17 Feb 2024 21:22:22
Nobody cares anymore and it was clear to see today. The players have lost all fight and belief. But, according to moyes we won't win anything with anybody else? Make your own minds up and wake up EVERYBODY?

3.) 18 Feb 2024 09:06:58
Contrary to most posts on here re Forest game, I thought overall we played really well! We played better than I have seen for a while, yes the usual problems with lack of shots on goal, I thought Antonio had a great game up front considering the time he’s been out, hustling and giving defenders a hard time!
What’s the point in moaning for the sake of it, I would prefer to see Moyes out, but he ain’t going yet so get used to it, I see no point in the same posts being typed every time, sorry chaps but that’s how I see it! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

4.) 18 Feb 2024 09:59:17
Fair point Chelmsford. I think we all know now that despite all the rumours circling, moyes won't be going anywhere and from what I hear, talks for a 2 year extension are well in the advanced stage!

5.) 19 Feb 2024 18:44:14
Chelmsford must have watched a different game to me. If it weren't for Areola pulling off some world class saves, we could have been 4 or 5 down at half-time and the final result might have been another repeat of Arsenal.

6.) 19 Feb 2024 20:39:43
Chelms I'm not sure about ANTROLLIO having a good game he wasnt great mate and in our last 5 or 6 games AREOLA has been our best player by far and that tells you everything as in our last 3 games we've conceded 11 and if it wasnt for AREOLA it could be close to 17 or 18 conceded so thatis the long and short of it.⚒⚒⚒

7.) 20 Feb 2024 07:12:31
Whorya, I like a front runner who frightens defenders and in my view Ant did exactly that against Forest, so I was watching a different Ant to you!
I haven’t seen anyone up front who roughs up defenders like him when he’s not playing, yes he makes a lot of f—- ups, who doesn’t?
Agree Areola has been our best player since he’s been our number 1 which I thought he should have been since we bought him, so that goes to show how bloody rubbish Moyes tactics are which we all know?
⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

8.) 20 Feb 2024 11:06:17
Antonio could frighten defenders by wearing a Dracula mask. His job is to score goals, not pointlessly run around saying “Boo”!

9.) 20 Feb 2024 23:08:43
Its football chelms not wrestling or UFC so your happy as long as he roughs up defenders and never looks like scoring, your happy with that he was about 3 weeks away from being fit but was slung into the starting 11 as he's a DD favourite full stop I know he hasn't been fit for a while but he ain't scored for 4 months either and HALLER 81 APPS and 41 goals since leaving us I know who I'd rather have when played in his preferred role and system that's why he was signed you sign players and then use them to their strength which DD never did and are you sure your DD out as he likes players that run or ROLL around like headless chickens and all ANTROLLIO does is in my nickname for him roll around trying to buy free kicks and on JWP the only way he's going to break BECKHAMS record is if he shags 2 spice girls he hasn't scored one amazing set piece free kick as he's been MOYESED.⚒⚒⚒

10.) 21 Feb 2024 04:42:25
?? Exactly, Whorya.
(Love the Beckham analogy BTW ?)

02 Feb 2024 10:23:23
I actually thought prior to last night's game maybe new PL ref Tim Robinson would be a breath of fresh air sadly IMO he is just as bad as the rest of them

mercerl

1.) 02 Feb 2024 12:51:18
He was worse the officiating is almost as bad as watching Moyesball.

2.) 02 Feb 2024 14:24:49
Not only the officials, but poor football, crap and incompetent selection and tactics, all added up to an exhilarating evening's entertainment. At least Bournemouth didn't read the West Ham version of the script. They deserved all three points and if it wasn't for their poor finishing, lucky Moyes would have looked the chump he is. The pro-Moyes camp seem to be a bit quiet.

3.) 02 Feb 2024 17:41:07
Had about enough of the entire regime responsible for running our club

4.) 02 Feb 2024 21:40:28
Yep I walked of the living room after 5 minutes u can just see my mate said the same to tonight in the pub I’m not going on a bash Dm night but the whole set up was wrong just to accommodate Phillips cornet should have been on the left sticking with alveraz n soucek n ward prowse in the middle of u want change it up later in the game push soucek further up field later in the game I’m lost with DM if I’m honest we can’t break teams down if they sit behind the ball as well if they close us down quickly

21 Jan 2024 17:13:07
I guess that was a fair result today. We didn't play well enough. I was impressed with Johnson in midfield though. Another suspect refereeing performance though and why didn't VAR interject when Bowen was pulled down

mercerl

1.) 21 Jan 2024 17:43:27
The one against us was less of a pen than the foul on Bowen, no way VAR would have intervened if the ref didn't give it.

I despair of the quality of modern referees. Yesterday Mr Gillette lost the game early von by not blowing for obvious fouls and I notice neither MOTD or Sky showed Anthonio being fouled as he got away from his own half, not even a whistle let alone a booking.

VAR as a technology is fine it's the idiots (My Opinion) using it that is wrong Mr Webb could bring in a simple time rule saying if you can't decide in 90 seconds than it stays with the on field referee decision might wake some of them up - yesterday was a farce

I sat through that and thought the same as you about Don Hutchinson commentary. Also thought the Ref was excellent last night and quite clearly Soucek pushed him in the back no penalty was the right decision

I would agree with the non managers and add to that of Michael Carrick just don't think he is experienced enough. What. I would like to see is a really good coach who could bring the best out of our players and inspire the youth squads to come through. Someone who knows when to put an arm round then or alternatively give them a kick up the arse when it's needed and can work with Tim Stenton
