Official he's gone and all the Spanish coaching staff

1.) 08 Jan 2025 16:58:40
Whilst Loppy was never the right man for the job the way they have treated him is shameful to be honest, not to forget he has just lost his father then to cone back whilst it was virtually public he was going to be sacked is extremely poor to be honest, next it will be we didn't sign anyone in transfer window as we didn't have time to identify targets, our board are terriible

2.) 08 Jan 2025 17:19:43
Terrible?, you rate them too highly, as posted before, we have directors that are financial. Experts, but know less than the posters on this site about football

3.) 08 Jan 2025 19:06:22
I didn't want to sweaar

Never thought I'd hear "Super Tommy Soucek" being sung by the West Ham faithful but he keeps popping up with the odd goal. Wonder what went on at half time?

mercerl

1.) 28 Sep 2024 19:42:53
Every manager picks him, so he obviously adds something to the team. Scoring 7-10 goals each season also helps. He’d be in my starting 11.

2.) 28 Sep 2024 20:03:09
Glad you’re not picking the team! ?

3.) 29 Sep 2024 08:51:19
Brooking/ Mercerl, love Soucek would be in my side every time as well along with Coufal and Antonio?Of course Managers love him, why wouldn’t they, every player prone to mistakes but he pos up with quite a lot of goals which attackers don’t seem to manage, invaluable to WH imo! ⚒⚒⚒⚒

4.) 29 Sep 2024 12:42:25
Well, there’s a surprise.

5.) 29 Sep 2024 13:09:34
So predictable. If I said the sky is blue and grass is green, my guess is Chelmsford would disagree! ?
The reason I think Antonio should not start is the fact that he can’t score goals, and he’s slowed down at 34. He was a great servant to the club a long time ago, but that does not mean he should play indefinitely. Our failure to secure young, fit, pacey centre forwards means Antonio gets playing time, otherwise he wouldn’t get a look in.
As for Soucek - he runs around like a headless chicken and can’t pass a ball. He throws himself about and pops up with an odd goal every now and then. Accommodating him in midfield means playing others out of position. There’s no doubting he can be a warrior, but he has not got the skill to be a regular starter.
Coufal can’t defend. That’s shy we bought AWB. He’s a Championship standard player.
These are my reasons. And by the way, the sky IS blue and grass IS green! ?

Reports West Ham have put 9 players up for sale Inc Anthonio JWP and the 2 Czech boys

mercerl

1.) 24 Aug 2024 11:41:42
I would keep JWP basically because we are going to play more attacking football therefore probably getting more free kicks around the penalty box area even if it’s not a shooting opportunity he can still put a great delivery in the box, just my opinion ?

2.) 24 Aug 2024 12:54:29
I think to keep a player for just that is foolhardy, and JWP is a player for whom we could get a reasonable return on the outlay. I struggle to see what he contributes to the team in open play, and therefore we must get shot of him. It makes sense to sell him.

3.) 24 Aug 2024 13:20:48
We’re not going to get it all done this window. I’ve been staggered by what Steidten has managed so far.

Incomings have been well beyond expectations. Outgoings are far more difficult, given the contractual circumstances of the players we want to shift.

JWP is an interesting one. I think he will get game time, but is unlikely to start. Stats wise, he didn’t have a bad season and, of course, he ticks the important homegrown box.

Seven days to go in the window and I’m sure there will be clubs out there looking for real bargains for those we want out. It comes down to have far we are willing to go to take financial hits to free up squad spaces.

4.) 24 Aug 2024 13:23:03
Im with Tinlegs on this one. JWO has been a massive disappointment and looks even less likely to suit Loppys system than Moyes’. We have plenty of players who can take set pieces and we could get a decent return on selling him, £20 - £25m I’d say … JWP plus £15m for either Toney or Dhuran would be good business ?

5.) 24 Aug 2024 13:25:34
Sure between Paqueta, Kudus and Soler we will have good options to take freekicks. JwP has barely tested a keeper with a free kick yet would be interested to see his conversion rate from fk wouldn't be surpsied if its not that good.

6.) 24 Aug 2024 13:40:05
Do you remember when we first signed JWP, think he got an assist and a couple of goals in his first few games, that’s when we attacked more before we started sitting back every game and we were all saying JWP for England ?

7.) 24 Aug 2024 14:08:00
Yeah, but after his performance at the World Cup, we also all thought Aguerd was the bee’s knees!

8.) 24 Aug 2024 14:12:33
We haven't put 9 players up for sale . These YouTube fan channels are an absolute joke . You might as well believe claretandhugh. There just as bad .

9.) 24 Aug 2024 17:05:27
To be fair, nobody said it was fact. In the spirit of the name of this site, mercerl just said there were ‘reports’, i.e. rumours, which sparked a discussion.

10.) 24 Aug 2024 17:06:48
Can’t sell everyone. I’d keep JWP and Soucek for certain.

11.) 24 Aug 2024 19:44:18
Both need to go.

12.) 24 Aug 2024 21:58:55
Soucek scored today

13.) 24 Aug 2024 23:16:16
? Oh well, that makes all the difference then. Let’s keep him so we can keep playing Kudus out of position. ?

14.) 26 Aug 2024 06:52:08
It’s no secret we would entertain offers for Ings, Zouma, and Cornet. I can’t see Coufal playing second fiddle to Wan-Bissaka. Antonio must realise his days are numbered, and Soucek could command a fair transfer fee. It’s easy to see how the numbers start to add up, so it’s not beyond the realms of possibilities.

Claret and Hugh reporting that TS has been banned from Rush Green and the London Stadium dressing room it's all getting a bit handbags ain't it. Luv to see Will Still take over he's just left Rheims

mercerl

1.) 03 May 2024 12:58:50
Some are saying that it's Steidten's own choice to stay away, not that he's been banned. Whatever the truth, it now looks impossible for both Steidten and Moyes to stay at the same club. More evidence that Moyes is on his bike.

Philips done deal loan till June option to buy

mercerl

1.) 23 Jan 2024 17:49:51
So who does he replace? Soucek? That would give us midfield 3 of alvarez, ward prowse and Phillips.not bad but, we need full backs, a left winger cause benrahma is leaving and a striker!

2.) 23 Jan 2024 20:55:36
Moyes won't drop Soucek. It'll be the Steiden choice Alvarez who's for the chop.

3.) 23 Jan 2024 21:06:48
We don't really need a left winger, just play Cornet in his actual position. For all the pelters he gets from the fans, myself included the poor bloke's only ever been played once in his proper LW position in the PL.

4.) 25 Jan 2024 15:40:36
If we drop ALVAREZ then it's crazy as if your telling me he ain't better than SOUCEK then DD is totally lost the plot.⚒⚒⚒

5.) 26 Jan 2024 17:36:03
Personally i am very pleased with the Phillips loan deal. He is exactly the player we need alongside Alvarez AND he can fill in for Alvarez when missing. Currently we have nobody to replace Alvarez when he is missing (and it shows when he is gone), we all see Soucek and Prowse cannot do it, and this guy can do it as well as being Alvarez partner in CM. Can pick a great ball for counter attacks as well, which Souceck is not so great at. All round a VERY good bit of business, and the guys is such a nice character, a player we can really get behind and personally i hope he signs permanently, although £40m for a soon to be 29 year old is a lot!
Yes we still need a LM, ST and a backup LB. I like the look of this Osimen that we are linked with. let's be honest he will not start as Paqueta will be our LM for the forseable, but it gives Moyes options, which is why i actually think a LM is more important than a ST at the moment IMO

Done by awfully refreshing decision not only a goal kick but a foul on Paqueta. Mavropanus is a real liability. Scarles should get another start though

I was thinking back over the Sullivan years and the players he stopped the signing off.

In the last couple of years 2 that come to mind are Cole Palmer and John Dhoran but the one that I think was his biggest miss was Jamie Brady who big Sam wanted to sign for £1million. I believe Alan Devonshire recommended Max Kilman when he was playing for Maidenhead.

Would love to hear of others traders can think of

Ivan Toney when he was at Peterborough.

In more recent times these may have been a combination of the Daves but - caicedo, Julian Alvarez. Fofana. Harwood belis.

I remember us being heavily linked to antonee Robinson for a few mil when he was in the championship but if I remember club may have pulled out due to a heart condition?

Also with the Palmer one I think that was more so do with Paqueta falling through and Palmer not wanting to play for Moyes we ended up going for Kudus instead.

{Ed001's Note - that was Milan, he turned down West Ham to go to Milan but failed the medical due to drinking too much strong coffee beforehand. It caused him to have a heart flutter.}

6.) 16 Dec 2024 13:10:04
Thanks for clarifying Ed. So when he failed that we could have still went back in for him but obviously didn't. 2m at the time I thought would have been a bargain strong, quick and from what I seen he liked a big tackle.

{Ed001's Note - he went off to sort out the heart problem he thought he had, so was not able to sign for anyone straight away. That's why he ended up at Fulham, they were the only ones willing to take the chance after that. I am not his biggest fan, but there is such a dearth of decent left-backs around and he is one of the better ones.}

7.) 16 Dec 2024 15:09:30
Makes sense! We will be needing new LB soon. Unless Scarles can step up seen him in one of the youth games seems to have grown physically since his injury but the games I seen he played in midfield and I think he even played a game upfront.

The fact Moyes of all people gave him a debut in Europe at such a young age speaks volumes.

I've said this in the past J Lo was the wrong choice. If we lose to Man Utd next week he should be gone. Od appoint Kevin Keen as a temp and get the team together which they aren't at the moment. Hate to bday it but we've been on the Slide since Rice went. Too many egos in the dressing room

Was in two minds about yesterday's game felt we lacked cohesion Bowen plays better on the wing Kudos fails to pass the ball when he should and Pac Man still giving it away too much. Fab was outstanding and to be honest we could have been on the end of a tonking last Night good to see the 2 youngsters come on
