However WH are trying to steer the player away from Roma, who are trying to offer formalised deals, if you like, spreading the payments over a long period

WH don’t want it.

And are not prepared to sell on the never, never, as they used to call it

Roma are underfunded, and may be biting off more than they can chew, £40 m plus addons looks beyond them, the player should be back in Rush Green on Monday, or is supposed to be, along with Diouf, and Alvarez! Let’s see what happens?

Arsenal wrapped up in their own importance it seems owing to the possibility of Saliba's long-term absence. They want to buy Mavrapanos on the cheap. Or loan him, for a reasonable fee!!!!

It's about time we stopped being the Premiership's wholesalers. That also goes for a number of European clubs. At last, we appear to be setting reasonable prices on our players, and sticking to them. No longer the transfer pushovers.

Bastien Meupiyou, this is live, not a sleeper. Any guarantee? No, but Nuno is after this young player. Does he know him from Wolves? Don’t know.

Todibo, the loan offers to WH at present are from Marseille and Nice (where he came from), these clubs don’t have the clout to buy him, to be honest they don’t want to.

Further to that, although the players wages have dropped to 40 k from 80 k a week, it’s not certain that either can pay those wages and WH are not subsidising. So we are at a standstill at present.

Three seasons left, too much dough involved.

If, for example, one season in the Championship, then we get promoted 2+4+4=10 m outstanding. What offer would WH have to make? He'd want 7 m, no way that's going to happen at present.

Two others, Cornet and JWP, both possible for contract buy out in last year of contract, Cornet a possibility.

Doubt JWP; he will sit on the bench, get his reduced wages of 57 k a week, then leave on a free. Where is he going to get that kind of money again? He's not, full stop, overpaid, useless. I don't even think he will be any good in the Championship.

Ordinary French clubs cannot pay Todibo's wages, that's a main problem. He's not going to walk away, unless he offers to rip up his contract like Fulkrug, then West Ham might say goodbye. Fulkrug is at least there and available.

JWP is tarred with the same brush. For me, he's going nowhere. A season left on contract, what's Southampton going to pay him, 30 k, maybe more like 25 k a week? With West Ham subsidies ongoing, West Ham say no.

Saints want £25 m for Bellis. Better keeping Mavrapanos if we can and getting in Disasi for that kind of money.
Where is JWP going to get 57 k a week? Nowhere. That's why his arse will be on the bench most of the time. That's my view.

He's put in a couple of appearances, not much, sparse training, refused to get involved etc.

I don't disagree with your shout, but I think this has to go on for a while. West Ham have only been in training for 11 days.

If it carries on like this, and West Ham cannot get rid of him, it might well finish up that way.

Koppen is trying to get shot of a few people, easier said than done.


If it does, West Ham gain the wages, lose the transfer fees, and lose a headache.

Without the lure of the Premier League and the wages, I'm not sure why anyone would leave Celtic (a much bigger club than West Ham and in the Champions League) to come to us.

I can see that a lot of people are interested in Maeda player in last year of contract, not looking likely to renew, says agent. Would Celtic like to let him leave as a free agent? No way, so they may be open to a bid. He’s 28

How much? Maybe £15 m plus 5 m addons could start the ball rolling.



Would he come to the Championship? Unlikely, depends on who else is involved. Maeda is on 24 k a week. WH would need to double it, that may be possible.

WH have too many non productive limpets; if they can unload some then anything’s possible.

Mac, just wanted to check up for you. As of last night Wh have not made any bid for Ballard of Orient, there was an enquiry, where Wh where told 7 m was the price, maybe £5 m plus 2 m easy addons, that’s where it was left

Bristol City been knocked back twice.

But to be fair their bids were, let’s say, underwhelming.

Franculino, in the Championship WH could realistically only buy this player if we come in with a big fee £35 m, and get shot of people like Fulkrug and Pablo; as this looks unlikely, so does the scenario.

Vipotnik, this is the man that I think WH should buy. They enquired within the first two weeks of relegation. The reply was £25 m; this could be negotiable, but it’s the same story as above.



These two forwards are far better suited to WH needs than many others, but with current information it’s a no. No.

I think Maeda would be a great signing. Not sure he would leave Celtic to come to the Championship, though. Works hard, excellent press, great engine, tons of pace, can play wide as well.

Fulkrug. Not rules related, but it would be a big loss on paper. Players like Maeda would want a salary jump coming to West Ham, before even debating whether or not he comes to the Championship. With so many players West Ham do not want collecting wages, getting in new players becomes difficult.



Were we in the Premier League, with its money, I'm sure Kretinsky would clear this mob out, get the best deals you can and move on, but in the Championship, it is altogether different.

Oh come on, Maeda aint gonna come to us in the Championship. Yes, I would love to see him come to us, but we may as well say I wonder if Bellingham would come to West Ham. There is a major shortage of creative players, so why anyone thinks we are gonna attract them, I dont know.


The World Cup has shown you can have lots of creative players, but if teams play the low block like Ghana and Paraguay, having creative players doesnt ensure wins.
As ever, there is too much negativity peddled by a few websites and it spreads.

Just silly talk, WH. Cannot slash wages on written and agreed contracts.
Fulkrug has offered to walk away to be a free agent, with no wages claim. Cornet will accept 1 m to wind up his last year contract.
That actually leaves three, not two: JWP, Alvarez and Todibo.

These three are the difficult ones.

JWP and Alvarez have 2 years left; Todibo three.

So the first two are easily solved if WH want to do it. There’s no way the other three are easy to solve, but it’s not holding up incomings. Indecision, staying or leaving on some players' parts is causing the problem.

First problem here is Fulkrug. There’s a host of players up front West Ham could have interest in. Maeda was of interest last season, Ballard enquiry, Hatate nothing as yet.
But West Ham, for reasons unknown, seem reluctant to let Fulkrug go; he’s still on 55 k a week. They don’t want a big loss on paper if he walks on a free.

Is he going to play this season? If he is, and we keep Taty, and the so far useless Pablo, none of those people can be brought in; just too much in wages in the Championship.



Whilst we need fresh faces, and we do, West Ham haven’t got the Premiership money coming in. Parachute money is a big help, but Kretinsky needs to make some big player decisions, draw a line on players leaving etc... West Ham are not yet sorted out.
