WH will have the money, but do they want to fork out? Thing for me is, it just depends on who's staying. Next week may tell the story. If some go, we have to buy. I personally don't think that some of the academy names mentioned are ready for the Championship. Only my view.

I think there will be other really good midfielders available this summer, Tonali and Anderson, for example, so he might end up at Spurs because others have filled their needs elsewhere.

Personally, I couldn't care less where he goes.

It's a bit different with a generational talent like Rice or Bowen that have been here for years, but Fernandes has been here one season and been relegated, not much affinity there for me.

Nothing surprises me in football.
But, this type of player should be looking at CL / Europa football.

I know, logically, it doesn't work how I say. But, the player will have some preference.

Who cares where he goes, as long as we get a decent sum for him. That is all that is important. I also really hate the treatment we dish out to players when they return. For years the fans gave Lampard and Defoe (to name just a couple) so much stick. But it never worked, as they always scored against us.

The treatment Rice still gets from sections of the crowd is a joke. Why do fans get so hot under the collar just because someone doesn't want to spend their life playing for a basket case of a club. Hopefully things will now change, and players may see us as a team worth staying at.

If he agrees terms with both, and Spurs offer us an acceptable offer, it forces other clubs who are serious to match it or get close. He can then have his pick. A team, maybe watching, lets Spurs do the work, then matches once it's agreed. Also, Fernandes doing right by the club, going to the highest bidder, is better than him demanding only Man U.

That wouldn't help us.

No idea about Mikey Moore, and I've heard they have some good players that could be good for the Championship, but I dunno how I'd feel about potentially Spurs fans/players making up our team.

As previously posted WH offered a new contract, but he’s punting around. Whilst in one sense you can't blame him as a player, no point waiting on him.

WH need to move on and forget about him now.

I agree with Hec. No rush needed with this appointment, imo. There are plenty of people who can make buying decisions and deals in the meantime. Perhaps other things, such as Sullivan's shares potentially being sold to Staveley, might also be delaying matters, as surely whoever buys might want a say in the DoF decision...


Whatever, there are a lot of positives happening now at WHU, and, apart from the relegation, a lot of reasons to be cheerful.

Well the players, that are not competing in the World Cup, will be back on July 6th, Monday week,

We will be better placed then to see any absences, not given permission, or not given extra time off, as they have been playing in the cup

The only player giving problems at the moment is Fulkrug, who has told Nuno he’s not coming back. He’s told WH they can rip up his contract; he doesn’t want the money! He wants to be let go.

WH have paid him up to date June 30th...July 1st wages are halved. WH can still save £5.5. M in wages for the last two years of his contract, save the agro let him go

WH want to sell obviously, they won’t mind a loan with a compulsory purchase, but they won’t want him back at season's end.

Don’t forget we have history with Fenerbache, re Alvarez, they are a little difficult to deal with.
