According to SSN spurs have agreed a 55 mil deal for kudos we have completely had our pants pulled down what a joke club we really are he has a 85 mil release clause I knew we'd get done over by levy, sullivan and Brady are a joke

REDROBBO2

1.) 09 Jul 2025 18:00:54
Not quite, Sullivan would rather sell cheap than put money into the club, silly tactics, apparently Brady pushed the deal, over Potters anxiety

2.) 09 Jul 2025 18:12:00
Medical tomorrow. See how fast that was once price agreed. Something West Ham board lack aswell as a bit of integrity and respect

3.) 09 Jul 2025 18:35:06
He'll be double that in a year or 2 when he bangs in 15-20 goals.

4.) 09 Jul 2025 18:48:02
Do you mean Potter didn’t want to sell him Joyful?
If so then I have to make him right. The way Tottenham have dealt with us over the years they should have held out for close to the buy out clause. Maybe be a little more relaxed with other clubs.
I think this is a disaster just hope Summerville can step up to the plate

5.) 09 Jul 2025 20:08:45
No you misunderstand, Potter was sold a certain situation, which WH didn’t stick to, Potter knew the end of players contracts, knew the three targeted players to leave as well, but he understood he could get on with limited transfer business, from the start of the transfer windows, then WH changed it to sell to buy, leaving fans frustrated, and Potter very anxious, as weeks ticked by, so now Potter can get on with it, with five weeks Togo, it looks clear, that the squad is going to shrink, now let’s see how the rest of it plays out

6.) 09 Jul 2025 20:30:41
Cheers that makes it clearer ?

REDROBBO2

1.) 28 Feb 2017 18:54:32
Let's hope we have this in the bag already and tied up.

2.) 28 Feb 2017 20:10:02
Read that man united are keeping tabs on him.

3.) 28 Feb 2017 20:32:35
Oh well that's that then : ( lol.

4.) 01 Mar 2017 10:18:53
he's played against utd and impressed so we will see.

05 Jan 2017 17:06:45
Dunno if its true but all over social media we've made a 20 million bid for dembele.

REDROBBO2

1.) 05 Jan 2017 17:18:30
I have seen that aswell it said 20 mill bid for a player based in Scotland dembele would be my choice over Defoe and hogan, also just seen fonte wants out of Southampton he would be a great signing.

2.) 05 Jan 2017 17:53:02
I would imagine fonte wants out for a bigger club Paul butility your right he'd be an excellent signing to play alongside reid.

3.) 05 Jan 2017 17:53:02
I would imagine fonte wants out for a bigger club Paul butility your right he'd be an excellent signing to play alongside reid.

4.) 05 Jan 2017 18:06:02
Yeah he probably does and if we did go for him we'd only offer half of southamptons valuation.

5.) 05 Jan 2017 18:25:04
Says he wanted to be highest paid member of the club fobte and wasnt happy about it . wouldn't bother with players like that.

6.) 05 Jan 2017 18:53:53
Didnt know that.

7.) 05 Jan 2017 20:50:09
What bothers me most about Dembele is; why pay £20 million now when we could have signed him for a £500k Bosman in July? Granted he's scored 19 times this season but let's be honest, only 3 of those goals are against what you'd call quality opposition - The rest are against the likes of Ross County and FC Astana. £20 mill's a huge punt on a Fulham cast off imo.

8.) 05 Jan 2017 21:03:47
I doubt we would get him anyway celtic I think would want more than that and that's if we have actually put a bid in.

9.) 05 Jan 2017 22:07:21
Hey Billy, what are you talking about? Celtic got Dembele for 500k because of the cross border rule! An English club would have paid millions for him. Tottenham tried to get him for £6 million in Jan to save a tribunal. Moussa Dembele is going to be a world beater! He's already done more than Martial, and Deschamps has said he'll be in his next squad in March. He got around 40 caps playing at every level for France. To even mention him in the same breath as Hogan is an embarrassment. He's 20, and doesn't really have a weakness - he's super strong, super fast, he's 2 footed and good in the air. Look at the 5 goals he scored against Rangers, every one is brilliant. He's got 4 in the Champions league, which is a better record than any player his age in his first season since the competition started. He'll never end up at West Ham - Mourinho has been watching him since his Chelsea days, Pochettino obviously rates him, Wenger is keeping an eye on him. Liverpool have already told Celtic they want kept abreast of the situation! On top of all that he qualifies as a home grown player. Zidane said recently he's one of the best young players in Europe! Look some of our players have been stolen over the last few years, Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk were all worth more, so it's not happening again. You've got characters down there moving for fortunes, Ross McCormack for £12 million - he's nearly 30. Villa also bought a lad from Bristol City for about £15 million and he's rotten. Your problem is the players down there aren't as good as you think they are - talk about delusions of grandeur! Celtic would beat West Ham if we played you tomorrow! We've just drawn 4-4 with Man City over 2 games and could have won both! I like West Ham, - we have you Frank McAvennie, you gave us Stuart Slater in return right enough, which wasn't cool. You also got Di Canio off us! You need educated mate if you don't fancy Dembele! Another rumour is Real Madrid want him because Zidane loves him, and he'll stay on loan at Celtic.

10.) 05 Jan 2017 22:41:14
Another thing Billy - you're raving away about us only beating Ross County and Astana well before you start shouting your mouth off check the facts. I can't remember the last time we lost to an English team. We've a great record, even going back to us beating a world class Leeds team in the semi final of the European Cup in 1970.

Under Martin O'Neill we knocked out Blackburn and Liverpool on the way to the UEFA Cup Final. We beat Manchester United in the Champions League about 7 years ago and just drew with City. You need to sort yourself out so you do. Are you a Sevco fan? If so, I know you must be hurting, still it's only going to get worse! 10 in a row is already a given! Celtic have never been stronger!

The average age of our team is 23 and with Brendan Rodgers we have a manager who properly know the transfer market! Bolasie £28 million. Stones £50 million. Alonso at Chelsea for over £20 million - Celtic knocked him back when he was on a free transfer at Bolton. I could go on and on, it's truly bizarre!

11.) 05 Jan 2017 22:51:47
We got dicanio from Sheffield weds and only cause he shoved the ref over.

{Ed025's Note - now that was funny.. :)

12.) 05 Jan 2017 23:17:34
Yeh was the most theatrical dive ever lol.

13.) 05 Jan 2017 23:23:41
Well via Celtic, and I think he done alright for you. If you only got him because of the push well it says more about West Ham's standing than anything else!

14.) 05 Jan 2017 23:59:08
Anyway I wish West Ham all the best for the season, the fact you're struggling is more down to circumstances. The lad from Swansea getting injured in the first few weeks, Payet still coming down from playing with France and moving from Upton Park etc etc. Celtic have a standing area now and it's incredible, I heard your chairman was enquiring about it/ spoke to us, - it would make a big difference to that new stadium you've been landed with. I just want a fair price for Dembele because I think he's a better prospect than Van Dijk was. Cheers

15.) 06 Jan 2017 00:16:45
Oh sorry I forgot if a player plays some games for a club they own him forever, by the way we got frank mcavennie from St. Mirren celtic bought him from us I've got nothing against celtic at all by the way and total agree it's a big club but you don't exactly attract big names anymore

16.) 06 Jan 2017 00:34:25
I think you'll get a good price for dembele to be honest I don't think he will go this window if I was celtic i'd wait until summer, still you will win the league this year and Griffiths is a decent replacement anyway Good Luck to ya this year aswell

17.) 06 Jan 2017 09:08:48
haha Delphic calm down mate you'll give yourself a stroke

18.) 06 Jan 2017 09:46:24
Delphic. Much of your post makes good sense mate. I liked it. However, just to correct you, we got di Canio when he was snubbed by Sheffield wednesday after his famous referee push incident and nobody wanted to take a chance with him. Also, Di Canio has a West Ham tattoo, not a Celtic tattoo, Speaks volumes mate.
On a different note, you 4-4 aggregate score against Man City was indeed a good result, however, last season we beat them twice and I expect to beat them tonight.
However, results do not make a club bigger or better thank nan other - it's fans do!
I rate Dembele highly and think £20 Mill is a lot of money for the player, however, when I compare Dembele with Zaza who I believe we were going to buy for £25 Mill at the end of the season, he appears to be fairly valued. COYI

23 Sep 2016 01:10:36

Holy rubbish. An hour gone and its 5-1!

Not sure I've EVER seen us this bad!

I see fans pointing and chanting at Sullivan and about time we made him feel how we feel

Get this useless board and manager PUT NOW!

2.) 22 Aug 2025 21:33:58
Chelsea only had a very small pre season after the club World Cup aswell

3.) 22 Aug 2025 21:42:00
Areola ain’t always great but god he’s better than this short bloke

17 Aug 2025 07:27:05
So over the end of last season and this summer I've been called out as have others for being negative, Its not negative people to be realistic, it was obvious yesterday was going to happen with a manager whose tactics were boring and inept for half a season and he still couldn't change anything or even experiment, he played posts in pre season then bottled it in Premier league preferring what undoubtedly is one of our worst ever signings in Rodriguez, I'm not even going to comment on JWP because it's been done to death, there's zero press, zero creativity the players are static have no work rate at all potter has failed completely I'd rather have Loppy in charge that's how bad things are

When we inevitably do go one down how does he change it? He takes off the afore mentioned awful midfielders with no pave for souchek and callum Wilson who have no pace

Potter needs to go, the board need to go that performance yesterday has relegation written all over it

REDROBBO2

1.) 17 Aug 2025 08:21:28
Can’t really argue with any of that. For Players like Guilherme it must be like a living nightmare. A team in desperate need of pace and he can’t even make the bench. One thing that unites most of us is that the midfield duo you mentioned are seen as useless and too slow, yet he starts our first match against a very beatable team with them. He obviously thinks he can see something we can’t.
C&H gave it a brilliant description ‘ a tactical disaster class’
His win rate and performances are so bad why didn’t he throw caution to the wind and start with Potts and Fearon against Sunderland. Chelsea next I fear the worst

2.) 17 Aug 2025 10:48:34
@redrobbo, and you know those people would have came out the woodwork yesterday if we beat Sunderland.

3.) 17 Aug 2025 11:36:45
Iron.Al I am sorry you can't defend the indefensible. We would have still moaned even if we had won, because the football is more bland than anything DM served up. If you enjoy watching a team thank 95% of the time passes sideways and then back, I am sorry that is not for me. I am going with my boys Friday and fear for this team against Chelsea.

4.) 17 Aug 2025 12:55:20
Spot on Iron AI we wouldn't have heard the end of it

5.) 17 Aug 2025 15:34:39
@gerry not sure what you're on about mate or who you think i'm defending.

6.) 17 Aug 2025 22:48:24
Guilherme is injured, broke his collar bone in training

16 Aug 2025 16:57:48
Potter is completely out of his depth terrible tactics, awful.selection doesn't matter who owns the club we need this clown out

REDROBBO2

1.) 16 Aug 2025 17:45:14
Totally agree Robbo. Whilst we all know Sullivan is the root of many of our problems he didn’t drop Potts and play with that midfield. We should attack most games but especially against a newly promoted side. If we are going to take the cautious approach against Sunderland we have no hope.

2.) 16 Aug 2025 17:54:08
190% agree, for once in his life Sully was right when he only wanted to give him a contract to the end of last season. Maybe he will get it right and sack the clown before it’s too late

15 Jul 2025 11:20:34
Hi All

I know there's been a lot of negativity so far so Just wondered what do you think constitutes a successful transfer window?

Personally I don't like the way it always takes ages for us to get going in transfer window and we never give our squad a full pre season meaning we are playing catch up.from the start

On a positive note I really like that we have signed diouf and the profile of player we are being linked too is yound and dynamic with a big upside I really hope we can get some of these over the line and the window will be positive!

My thoughts on the board and potter are put to one side here and am just thinking about transfer window only as a bit of fun and conversation piece i totally get that ultimately it will be judged on results buy interested to hear others thoughts

REDROBBO2

1.) 15 Jul 2025 12:28:31
This window is a little more complex than usual. We have a lot of ground to cover all over the pitch and very unwilling investment from above. I personally think we're going to have to accept that a "successful" transfer window this season is the bare minimum to keep us up.

For my money I'd be happy to solve our goalkeeper and striker issues. We don't have a perfect midfield, I admit, but we've had issues up front since Haller and I'd like to see them resolved long term rather than another 30+ striker band aid. Specifically going to be livid if we take on Calvert-Lewin in that way. Wife's an Everton fan sadly so I've watched him over the years. Idk if he's gun shy because of all the injuries but all I see him do is hang around the box and wait for possible headers to be floated in. Horrendous work rate imo. But, he has PL experience and is a free agent, so. if we really are beggars, which I doubt, I guess we can't be choosers.

Goalkeeping is a new problem for us this season with the release of Fabianski and who knows what it looks like without that safety net for Areola. We need a good, young keeper able to be pressed into service immediately. Areola is fine, nothing special, but if we get in a situation where Foderingham goes in we have serious trouble. I'm not very familiar with most of the names being floated, which I hope means they good young keepers being scouted from other leagues, but I can specifically say I think Ramsdale would be a mistake. He's a good keeper on his day but his mental isn't strong enough for a team like West Ham, again imo.

Which is all to say, I think for me a successful window will be enough to keep us up and if they truly stick to the new policy of trying to attract bright young talent, even if it means we have to wait until winter or even next summer to really see it come into effect.

2.) 15 Jul 2025 16:04:06
From an objective perspective, for me a successful window will be having at least four new (Potter) faces in our starting XI for the first game of the season.

I reckon I’m in the middle when it comes to Potter. He has plenty experience of the PL, did well at Brighton, less so at Chelsea and couldn’t make any difference with the players available at the end of last season.

With players of his choice acquired this window there won’t be any excuses.

We have been linked with so many players so far, that I’m inclined to sit back, take a sip and nod gently, or shake my head as if my opinion carries the weight it should in fantasy land.

What I do know, though, is that no matter what happens this window, I’ll be 100% behind the lads on day one of the next campaign.

3.) 15 Jul 2025 16:23:12
In my opinion the window will be successful if we address the lack of pace and creativity in midfield. I think we also need to get some sort of box to box player in midfield and if we can address that hopefully Alvarez might stay as it will help with his downsides as I think he would be brilliant with better faster players around him. Get rid of JWP . It would be good if youngsters like Potts and Guilherme are given a chance. I have to agree with you regarding Diouf his YouTube footage looked really good ( I know they often are) but it looks like we have signed a defender who spends a lot of time in advanced positions. But Sullivan has messed things up and many of the players should already be in because of preseason. Our first 2 games are really difficult, a newly promoted side back in the big time for the first time for a while and Chelsea at home will be really tough and it is important to get off to a good start. I really hope that we start playing with the emphasis on a back 3 not a back 5 . I’m not a Potter fan but willing to back him if he makes this change in emphasis . Let’s hope we get a few more over the line soon

4.) 15 Jul 2025 17:27:39
Good posting Hammer D, JWP going nowhere, 90k a week 2 years left on contract he’s 30,, this is WH main problem, several players that don’t pull there weight and we’ll overpaid, just have to buy younger and better in most circumstances, and let the contracts expire, not much you can do, except loan them out, and subsidise wages, if the squad is sufficient without them

5.) 15 Jul 2025 18:19:27
Strange really. You’d have thought that players who have earned enough for a seriously comfortable life style might be more interested in playing regularly once they’ve passed their peak, as opposed to sitting on the bench gathering money they don’t need.

6.) 15 Jul 2025 20:55:42
The graveyard of ambition when a fan says our transfer window signings are considered just enough to keep us up.

7.) 16 Jul 2025 12:25:55
I'm not trying to say I'm completely happy with it, Tin, I'm just trying to be realistic. The prem is slated to be very competitive this year and we released several of our most experienced players, with more possible down the road. I definitely think we should be more competitive, but I also don't think it's reasonable to expect to become competitive in one transfer window from where we are right now. The kind of reinvention we need will take a while, so I guess what I'm saying is I'd prefer a slower growth where we consistently get better over a few seasons than a quick shot in the arm and right back down in the weeds by the end of this season.

8.) 16 Jul 2025 16:10:45
Personally chief I don’t see any evidence that potter is making us any better. Like many of us I see it that we are stuck with this guy so hope the transfer window brings about a change in our style and ability but to be honest this is not based on anything we have seen thus far, in fact I would go as far to say it is the opposite at the end of last season having had so many dead rubber matches to experiment with

9.) 16 Jul 2025 17:04:41
D I'm not sold on Potter being the man for the job either, but if we get rid of him I can't see many replacement managers being unhappy to have young talent around. Sure, x player suits y playstyle and all that, but we have to start trying somewhere, right?

10.) 16 Jul 2025 17:31:29
Fair point chief ?
I think this is half the issue that we don’t seem able to employ a manager who can by and large manage what with what he inherits.instead we are continually having mass clear outs to get in “their players” and the corresponding losses that comes with that

Nunos tactics revolve around having a strong defence and a solid defensive midfield, the same as moyes tactics the difference between us and forest where they did well last season is forest had good defenders and defensive midfielders hence why I think we will struggle under nuno, I can see us still struggling by Xmas and then he will be under pressure already can't see much good coming out of this appointment it has panic written all over it to be honest

I'm a bit ambiguous here, I like paquetta and he is easily the most talented player we have, but he isn't consistent, my biggest problem here is we won't replace him with anyone nearly as good and in a better team he will be a 100 million player like kudos

It's a long time until January we were poir yesterday, not blaming nono but his tactics are going to struggle with this group of players, the defence is woeful not Nunos fault the 2 centre half's are just poor, diouf was completely exposed as a defender he's great going forward and young but at the moment teams will target him

We all know the striker problems but unless that defence is sorted we will always conceded more than we score as these tactics rely on being able to keep clean sheets generally

I know before anyone says it Nuno has only been here a week and he must see the size of the task in front of him now as we offered nothing yesterday

Recall Alvarez and give it to him ??, you could easily sell it to Bowen as its world cup.year and he needs to concentrate on football, I'd like a more vocal captain to be honest, someone who isn't afraid to let the team know they aren't performing, the fact Bowen is the captain highlights a real lack of leaders within the squad.
