It's official. Moyes leaving by mutual consent.

Any truth we're actively scouting John McGinn from Hibs? Hope not - bang average SPL player, not what we need at CM if we're to have a better season next term. Mind you, he'll be cheap. The entire Hibs squads only worth £9M.

Would prefer getting that midlothian nipper harry cochrane looks like he will have a bright future ahead of him only 16 though I think. Looks good for the level he plays at for how young he is.

2.) 19 Feb 2018 23:09:37
Might be hearts can't remember.

3.) 19 Feb 2018 23:10:42
Actually ain't that the same team? Lol.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah it's like West Ham and Millwall, people outside the area find it hard to tell the difference between all the small clubs in London.}

4.) 20 Feb 2018 10:02:24
hahaha, ouch eds you've really hurt my feelings I so sorry don't really watch much of the spl I prefer to watch the southern football league pd.

{Ed007's Note - I don't watch much of the English Pub League myself, Noel. Burnley v Huddersfield and Watford v Bournemouth isn't exactly the pinnacle of the beautiful game.}

5.) 20 Feb 2018 12:06:54
fair enough just the local team to support and help out with as and when I am able to. the funding isn't really much.

All said and done, I'm glad Moyes got a decent send off today, but I'm also glad that his particular chapter of West Ham history has come to an end.

Time now to look forward to the future, starting with the playing squad methinks.

1.) 11 May 2024 21:28:31
Agreed Billy. Fresh start where have the potential to do well next season and play decent footie whilst we are at it

05 May 2024 14:38:19
Hmmm. We're not looking so good here. 2-0 already, oh wait, 3-0. This could end up a royal pounding. half the team seems to already be on the beach.

1.) 05 May 2024 14:53:52
Gallagher has run the game for the first 45 Minutes nobody looks like being able to do anything feel a bit sorry for Bowen hit the bar twice

2.) 05 May 2024 15:20:36
Let me ask you all a question. We have a manager who coaches us and sets us up to defend but we can't defend, so does that not speak volumes for the manager. 4th worst defence in the league and now being humiliated at Palace and Chelsea! How can they even consider giving moyes another 2 years?

3.) 05 May 2024 15:34:47
What odds man city get 10 against us? .

4.) 05 May 2024 15:45:45
We've now conceded as many goals as we did in the Avram Grant relegation season - 70. Moyes really living up to his reputation as a defensively minded manager!

5.) 05 May 2024 15:51:53
Odds on Man City scoring 10 are probably the about the same as Luton scoring 5, so what's that? Even money?

6.) 05 May 2024 16:03:09
Incidentally, reports that his meeting with Hammers supremo David Sullivan are also wide of the mark, the pair enjoyed a 'cordial' meeting where it was decided that it would be better to wait until the end of the season before further talks, so the meeting was seen as a 'pointer' rather than a full blown interview.

Hammers stalwart Mark Noble and Director of football Tim Steidten BOTH want the club to go for Ruben Amorim, as opposed to the other main candidate, Julen Lopetgui who is being pushed by Will Salthouse, Sullivan's 'old mucker'

01 Feb 2024 19:53:43
Wow. We really should be about 3 down already.

BillyDWhizz

1.) 01 Feb 2024 20:22:18
Areola keeping us in it. Honestly, another day and we go in at HT 0-5 down

2.) 01 Feb 2024 20:36:37
Billy agree mate?Total rubbish, Zouma sold Phillips short with that dreadful pass but Phillips was like a CV bloody snail! No attacking flair at all Kudus running his legs off, Bowen off the boil, Johnson crap, give me Coufal any time??⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️

3.) 01 Feb 2024 21:32:57
Moyes out.

4.) 01 Feb 2024 21:40:23
Zouma is horrible to watch, my wife is down there with her dad and she messaged me at half time saying her knees hurt watching him, he looks like he has wooden legs. We should not be playing a diamond, Johnson is crap, the back four was brutal to be fair, Bowen was poor, felt sorry for Philips, he should have put his foot through it but zouma should have first, ings is past it, areola and kudos saved our arse, because I’ve nothing good to say about souchek and wars priese either. Moyes has to have a look at himself and realise we can’t play ward priese or Philips on right or left of a diamond it’s really not fair on them as players. Then he puts souchek as the deepest midfielder when alverez is still on there u can’t make it up, is one tactic is just pants, yeah he won that trophy but come on how on earth is he still in charge.

5.) 01 Feb 2024 23:31:50
DD just will not drop SOUCEK playing him in an attacking position just to fit him in and INGS has his best game against SHEFF UTD and then is dropped .⚒⚒⚒

22 Jan 2024 22:23:45
Fingers crossed, depending on results tomorrow Kudus could be home very soon.

SUGARAWA is very close to become a hammer???

16 Jan 2024 19:43:50
Hmmm. Looks like Moyes is deploying Emerson at AML tonight. I'll be interested to see how he gets on, I suspect he'll do ok there.

One things for sure, if Emerson plays really well Moyes will certainly take all the credit as opposed to admitting that he only put him there because there was no one else!

1.) 16 Jan 2024 20:37:46
Mvrapanos needs some lessons on how to pass a ball, absolute rubbish! We look like the Championship side at the moment, City want it far more than us!
⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

2.) 16 Jan 2024 20:49:01
Absolutely rubbish. Mavropanos again with another short back pass. Nobody else looks interested or wants to be in the pitch. We look like a Sunday league team. shocking and all those millions paid for this crap. Should be ashamed

3.) 16 Jan 2024 21:13:53
We are 1-0 down and what does DD do Brighton gas on a defender typical and I for one are pissed off with this bring on MARSHALL and see what he can do and if he doesn't get a hat-trick a few posters can rip the rubbish out of the VERY EXPERIENCED player????⚒⚒⚒

4.) 16 Jan 2024 22:21:57
I never want to see Benrahma, Ings, Cresswell, and Cornet in a West Ham shirt again.

I could add Soucek to that list but we all know that he will be at the club and start all the time that Moyes has a hole in his Harris.

It took only 4 of our regular outfield starters to be missing to turn us in to an easy mark for a bang average, mid table Championship team.

I'd hazard a guess that the weekly wages spent on Ings, Cresswell, Benrahma, Soucek and Cornet equates to the entirety of the Bristol City playing and coaching staff's weekly wages, so it's not unreasonable, I think, to expect those players to be good enough to put in performances capable of beating lower league opposition.

As for the game - well we were just awful. Soucek and Ward-Prowse without Alvarez are weak, easily bullied and devoid of any meaningful offensive intent. Our defence apart from the schoolboy Dino pass and slug like pace of Fabianski were mostly ok but obviously over exposed by the Ward-Prowse-Soucek combination.

Offensively, we should have scored at least twice, unfortunately the players tasked with putting the ball in the back of the net are dog eggs and accordingly performed up to all expectations.

I feel sorry for Zouma and Emerson, at least they tried. Poor old Kurt will probably be out for a month nursing his glass like knees after tonight.

Ah well, onwards and upwards. Looking forward to the Sheff U game. (GULP! )

5.) 16 Jan 2024 22:27:15
If and it's a massive if we got GIMINEZ then I think SLOT is being lined up as a next manager for sure but half of EUROPE are after him he's 22years old and you are getting a player at the right age with sell on value if it doesn't work out and I've heard that he is very very close to EDSON.⚒⚒⚒

6.) 17 Jan 2024 16:43:08
Billy, couple of points I think are a bit harsh although all a matter of opinion as usual! Bit unfair to to say “slug like pace of Fab” Mavrapanos was a bloody disgrace with his passing and his Hospital back pass in particular to Fab was like a Schoolboys, in fact his passing all night was almost unforgivable for a PL player, no wonder Arsenal were happy to offload him!
Also don’t agree with Soucek comment, when you consider those around him, always gives a good account of himself for me! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

7.) 17 Jan 2024 18:35:08
I just think in that instance Fabs was slow coming out Chelms. Half a second earlier and he would've easily got the ball.

That said I really can't defend Mavrapanos's pass and in all honesty Zouma didn't exactly cover himself in glory with his ponderous ambling back towards the 6 yard box.

If Aguerd was playing, I'm certain he gets back and clears that off of the line, but it's hard to get to angry with Kurt and his 108 year old knees.

As for Soucek, I REALLY don't remember Jonathan Pearce mentioning his name during the entirety of the 1st half, and not much in the 2nd either to be honest.

Once his goals dry up, he really doesn't offer that much either defensively or offensively to the side - he SHOULD do but he just doesn't. The pairing of him and JWP when Alvarez is absent is disastrous and Moyes REALLY needs to think about it this window.

I didn't think another CM (D) was a necessity this January. Turns out I was wrong and it most certainly is.

Still think the money Villa want is far too much for a basically unproven young striker. As for the Toon, if Duran goes there he's in exactly the same boat as he's in now. No way does he start ahead of Isak.

Honestly I think it's time we walked away from Duran and look elsewhere.

That Andy Irvine transfer went right under the radar last season. We signed him on deadline day in September and then loaned him straight back to Klagenfurt.

You have to assume that the plan was always to bring him in to the fold. 14 goals and 12 assists in 59 league games, albeit in the Austrian Bundesliga, isn't at all bad for a CM and that includes a 22 min hat-trick against RB Salzberg. Be interesting to see how things develop with him.

Yuck! 29 year old journeyman who's had more clubs than Tiger Woods, including such footballing giants as Wigan, Shrewsbury, Partick Thistle and Melbourne City.

I'm guessing also, that A. He's not very good or B. Has a horrific injury history since he's only played 165 league games in his entire 10 year career.

Interestingly though, he has managed 34 caps for Scotland. Which probably indicates exactly how good a CB he isn't.

Even if we use Benny as a makeweight, it'll still be a £30odd million loss and that's just on the original transfer, if you consider his value now, then it'll be closer to a £60m hit.

I don't know for sure but you have to assume that the club has some kind of insurance for this kind of thing. If the worst happens and he gets say a life ban then that's £50m worth of asset lost.

I'm sure we still owe Lyon, so that debt won't disappear just because the player is unavailable for selection.

This could turn into a huge, ugly mess - if it hasn't already.

Honestly, I think pretty much the whole defence needs a broom pushing through it with the exception of Emerson and maybe keeping Coufal as a squad player. The midfield needs looking at since JWP and Soucek offer very little to our starting XI.

I can see an argument to keep them in the squad, but starting the pair of them is a non starter for me in all honesty.

Kudus is absolutely crucial for us next season. What a talent he's turning out to be.

Digressing a bit, I tell you what, Glasner has turned Palace in to a very decent outfit. If they can keep their team together, they'll be up in the 6-8th place spots next season.
