Any truth we're actively scouting John McGinn from Hibs? Hope not - bang average SPL player, not what we need at CM if we're to have a better season next term. Mind you, he'll be cheap. The entire Hibs squads only worth £9M.

Would prefer getting that midlothian nipper harry cochrane looks like he will have a bright future ahead of him only 16 though I think. Looks good for the level he plays at for how young he is.

Might be hearts can't remember.

Actually ain't that the same team? Lol.

{Ed007's Note - Yeah it's like West Ham and Millwall, people outside the area find it hard to tell the difference between all the small clubs in London.}

hahaha, ouch eds you've really hurt my feelings I so sorry don't really watch much of the spl I prefer to watch the southern football league pd.

{Ed007's Note - I don't watch much of the English Pub League myself, Noel. Burnley v Huddersfield and Watford v Bournemouth isn't exactly the pinnacle of the beautiful game.}

fair enough just the local team to support and help out with as and when I am able to. the funding isn't really much.

I'm hearing that Fernandes is injured with a broken foot? Any truth at all?

Fair play. I didn't see that coming! Played really well tonight and I can see why Moyes is trying to keep the faith with his formation, because when it works, it works. Still think we'd have scored more had Haller started in a 2 up top though! ;)

Diffident Dave strikes again. A proper mauling is written all over this I fear.

Smalling would have made sense, not sure Everton would have any interest in selling Keane though, aren't they a bit barebones at CB themselves at the moment?

Ummm. I thought that they kinda can though since the removal of the Short term Cost Control rule.

Not saying that there aren't still FFP rules to be followed but it's not quite as cut and dried as "No. We can't spend any money. "

The world of Premier League club's finances is pretty murky at the best of times and FFP does manage to muddy the waters even further but I'm not convinced it's the stingy chairman's get out clause it once was.

I will say this though, my comments are all purely speculative and without having a nice long look at the club's latest books - will remain as pure speculation.

That said, if the club really doesn't have a bean to spend then surely something, somewhere within the finance and planning departments has gone wrong, no?

We'd be a bit silly not to have a good hard look at Rhian Brewster. 10 goals in 20 league games last season for Swansea (which is what I assume you meant to type but yer 0 fell off) albeit in the Championship isn't a bad return for then 19yo. I'd much rather him than Fernando bloody Llorente that's for sure!

We got exactly what that team selection deserved.

His chronic back problem will never go away but he's been able to manage it without the need for surgery thus far. Agreed, it's another reason not to sign him but it's his Achilles that is now the more insidious of the two injuries.

Loftus-Cheek would've been my first choice of any Chelsea players in a makeweight deal. Until I looked in to his injury a bit deeper and it seems his Achilles rupture was really bad and the chances are he'll never recover fully. I like RLC but there's a not insignificant risk he'll end up another Dyer, Carroll or Wilshire.

{Ed002's Note - The problem injury is actually his back.}

I'm bouncing. Haller on at HT, 2 up top and I'm certain we would've won that game convincingly. Tonight's lack of conviction just goes to show why he's never won away as a manager at Arsenal, Chelsea and I'm not 100% but I think Liverpool and Man U as well.

That game was there for the taking but he bottled it. If the manager doesn't believe he can win, what chance do the players have?

Ahhhh, the bargain bin that is the Turkish Superlig. I said a few weeks ago that I was worried we'd resort to scouring that league for players.

There's a reason players end up in the Superlig and our past experiences with Gokan Tore and Emenike should've served as a warning.

Vida's actually not a bad player, or at least he wasn't - As usual we're in for a player at least 3 years past his sell by date. Be interesting to see what his weekly wages are. I'll go for £80k on a 3 year Sully special contract.
