JWP to Burnley on loan no option to buy. Shame we couldn't get an obligation just kicking the can down the road.

WH had a massive job just to get all of his wages paid in full, this is still not confirmed, Burnley are likely to be relegated irregardless, they would be in no position, whatsoever, to pay those mad wages, WH wouldn’t ask much for him certainly sub £10 m, Ward Prowse will be back at seasons end
Problem with him, is ….as an older. Transfer, I’m not sure, he has a relegation clause in his contract? Probably has, but can’t confirm
My guess is if we drop, he will stay on with vastly reduced wages, or May lead to a contract rip up, and a pay off, Cornet-will be back too, let’s hope Fulkrug isn’t

Hi Joyful I know nothing about all these contract stuff but is that legal that they just massively drop their wages because of relegation or would it have been written in the contract when originally signed. Because I’m thinking if they can just do this then why haven’t they done it already in relation to players like Ings and Cornet?

Hi mate, that’s what I’m implying, all the latest contracts have relegation clauses in them, they are not all worded the same way, the respective agents, put their clients wishes in the original contracts, it’s then up to WH to agree or not, for Example, Fernandes. Has a 25 m euro buyout price in his contract, never mind WH paid near 40 m euro for him,
Just don’t know wether. older contracts, have these clauses, but I suspect they do
Many do this to avoid a straight 50% reduction in wages, on the drop
TBH, WH will not be able to afford, half the present wages paid, when and if they go to the championship, therefore a fire sale of almost everybody, who will fetch decent money, will have to take place, very sad, but inevitable

Apprently talks are close to a conclusion on Gil Vicente striker - Pablo. 10 goals in 13 games. Only 21.
Jorge Mendes involved hopefully he can bring in Ruben Neves as well.

Had a quick look. He’s busy. Reasonably powerful and decent pace. Seems very right footed, which will be easier to defend in the PL. Looks to have the habit of being in the right place at the right time for efforts on goal. Didn’t look exceptional to me, but he’s only 21. I can’t see him being the immediate answer for this season, but what do I know?

I’m not going to put a downer on this, as it is refreshing to get a deal over the line quickly for a change and not announcing to the world beforehand that we are interested. Like Markro I looked at some YouTube footage but the clips I saw, he looked like he was good at getting in the right place at the right time but he hardly ever seemed to get the ball in the net most efforts were saved or missed

@Hammer D, not sure what video you watched but his stats would suggest he is very clinical, 0.38 goals for every shot. Which isn't sustainable for comparison harlands is 0.25
His defensive stats are very good also, looks aggresive and works hard.
@billy, he played 2 games end of December and scored in both doesn't seem injured?
Apparently we are in for taty castellanos and traore is meant to have been agreed but fulham might hold on to him until after afcon.
Just shows we can move quickly when sullivan wants to. Maybe if we signed fernandes and magassa at the start of the summer window we might not be in as much of a mess as we are now.

I feel like I've seen soo many goals disallowed for handballs in the build up accidental or not, they gained a clear advantage,
Apparently the rule is a lot stricter for attackers, i remember a few going against us similar. Remember when bowen running through the player went to tackle nd it deflected up to his arm we went on to score but got it pulled back. His arm was even across his body.

Have a read here, in short it says accidental or not any player handles it in the build up to a goal the goal should be chalked off. That also applies to if it hits any part of the body then the hand.
It's different for defenders.

Apparently Sullivan was offering out Paqueta to Chelsea, Spurs, villa early on in the window he refused and said he'd only go back to Flamengo.
Of course then the sh*t chucking starts.
Sullivan is said to have pretty much given up and the Paqueta money is there to balance the books not reinvest.
As many suggested he will drag it out until the end of the window and leave it too late to get a replacement.
Hope its all rubbish but you can't put it past that little weasel.

They could definitely interchange, Bowens finishing is a lot better and i don't think traore can press with the same intensity for as long could be wrong but he's a lump and Bowen does his best work coming off the right.
Traore had his best form under Nuno, not sure if he's as good now looks heavier and not as agile could be wrong? I know a lot of people don't want him but if we get the player that can go past players for fun, he will add something, end product isn't great but if we keep getting 3-4 players in the box the cross doesn't have to be perfect.

Agree Nick, unfortunately Sullivans comments accusing Paqueta of faking a back injury leaking he didn't report for training when we didn't have it were unnecessary, better to say nothing at all or just say he's injured but would like to go at most,
As for Hackney he's a CM, he would add something different. Potts and Magassa are quite similar, it would also mean if Fernandes got injured we have someone that can progress the play.
It would be nice to get another that could play attacking midfield if we do need to change from the 442 someone versatile that could play up top and behind a striker or out wide would be ideal but attracting that type of player won't be easy and they might not be the level we need.
Traore if he comes can play on the right and push Bowen up into that front 2 if needed.
We have a decent first 11 its just fragile with injuries, we don't really have players of the same profile to come in if any of them get injured.

We can do it, but we need 3-4 in to give us the best chance possible, i fear the board may do the usual bare minimum and hope none of the players get injured. We are one injury away from seeing kilman a starter or being left with 1 winger.

I would have rather Orford and Earthy if he wasnt on loan than JWP on the bench, former played last night though and is far too good for u21 football.
Wilson unfortunately can't get through as much work at the same intensity as Pablo and Taty, those two don't give the defenders a moments rest, Wilson will capatalise coming on last 20-30

Paqueta wants to go fair enough, i don't think he has/would refuse to play if he stayed. Personally i think its Sulli trying to justify selling him, would it surprise you if he waited right until the end of the window to sell him so there isn't time to spend the money?
