Apparently a £14m bid gone in for Milenkovic?

1.) 01 Aug 2021 17:15:28
Be a good signing if we can pull it off. Easily a £25M player if he wasn't in the last year of his contract. Fingers crossed.

2.) 01 Aug 2021 17:44:26
It's going to take more than 14m.

3.) 02 Aug 2021 13:15:21
Apparently they want £17M and now Sours are in. Can we not for once pay a relatively (cheap) asking price and get someone through the door instead of losing them to rivals? I appreciate we need to do a few loans because of overall finances but if we can't stump up £17M after the sales of Haller et al then finances are truly woeful.

31 Jul 2021 14:11:18
Bowen not in squad for Brentford game today?

1.) 31 Jul 2021 15:28:27
Do you think Bowen is a liverpool type player as i don't see it. i can't see Moyes letting him go. Liverpools problem is mid field and centre back, with Van Dijk back i think they will be back strong this season without Bowen.

2.) 02 Aug 2021 16:11:39
he'd be their replacement for Shakiri, that's all.

30 Jul 2021 13:46:47
I'm reading we've agreed a deal for Braithwaite, he might be ok for a squad player but not a starter, not for me anyway.

{Ed002's Note - Martin Braithwaite (S) Yet another option for West Ham and there have been talks. He is a player Brighton and Wolves have also looked at. Barcelona want to sell for cash and don't want any sort of loan deal with options.}

1.) 30 Jul 2021 14:03:46
I really hope not 13 million for a 30 year old that couldn't cut it at boro no thanks! he must have some agent!

{Ed002's Note - I would completely agree Al - West Ham have looked at far, far better options.}

2.) 30 Jul 2021 14:17:17
Why are we even looking at him he was like a headless chicken in the euros
Bet it a stupid lenght of contract and even worse wages
Rather keep the money and play one of the youngsters.

3.) 30 Jul 2021 15:37:27
I’m not impressed by this news in the slightest.
I feel the same as very one else. Underwhelmed and somewhat surprised we would spend this money on a bit part player when we are already short on funds.
I hope I’m proved wrong but I don’t think so.
He’s asking for more money when he’s average at best. I’d rather have signed Armstrong from Blackburn for this money. Ok. he’s not proven at PL level but neither was Brathwaite.

4.) 30 Jul 2021 15:58:36
I don't know how anyone negotiating for Barcelona could keep a straight face for this one. Alarmed that there were even talks.

5.) 30 Jul 2021 16:25:32
If Barcelona were silly enough to sign him guarantee we are.

6.) 30 Jul 2021 16:37:35
They done it as an emergency signing after the window closed and I think they have been trying to get rid ever since! he's been linked with west ham since toulouse i hope its just his agent trying to drum up interest.

7.) 30 Jul 2021 21:44:13
I can't understand why would we be interested in Braithwaite he's over 30 runs about like a headless chicken can't score goals
thats what u get buying a 15 mil ex boro misfit.
Is this a Moyes signing or the chuckle brothers.

8.) 30 Jul 2021 22:16:24
What other strikers have we actually looked at, ed?

9.) 30 Jul 2021 23:14:29
Forget Braithwaite.

There are plenty of others on our radar.

I’m confident we will start the season with a stronger/ deeper squad.

10.) 31 Jul 2021 19:55:13
The others are more expensive Marko.

29 Jul 2021 16:04:23
What's your thoughts on the Kurt Zouma links?

1.) 29 Jul 2021 18:21:54
Would be a solid signing apparently we have bid 20m which is well below what they value him at not sure what they would be looking for its being reported they wanted to use him in swap deal for Kounde.

2.) 29 Jul 2021 19:13:16
Cant see us offering 20m for him well would hope not
10/ 15m he'd be worth a punt but then again probably on silly wages.

3.) 29 Jul 2021 19:24:54
I’d say at least 30 if not 35m.

4.) 29 Jul 2021 22:06:38
My brothers a chelsea season ticket holder. his mistake🤣. and he rates Zouma very highly as do a lot of his fellow blues i also rate Zouma very highly and 25 million for him in todays market is stealing him go go go.

5.) 30 Jul 2021 08:37:35
No chance you get him for below £30-35m the way Marina negotiates. And I doubt Chelsea will come to the table unless Rice is an acceptable point of discussion.

6.) 30 Jul 2021 10:07:57
Apparently Zouma has told Chelsea he is settled in London and doesn't want to be a part of any player exchange for Jules Kounde as he has no interest in moving abroad. Which, if true, would surely make a deal for West Ham a possibility?

Clearly we are interested in Zouma and Abraham, so I can see Marina Granovskaia MAYBE looking to use this to her advantage in a deal for Declan Rice.

Would we consider that? If we got Kurt Zouma, Tammy Abraham and some money for a Declan Rice replacement, is that a shabby deal? I have got to be honest, I would consider it.

7.) 30 Jul 2021 10:55:44
For me if we use Rice in a swap deal its an advantage to Chelsea. We help them offload players they don't want and simultaneously give them our best player that we want to keep. Then we have to go and find a suitable replacement for Rice which will be very hard.

Zouma would bea great signing at 20-25m but I doubt it. I feel tammy is a bit over priced.

If they want to play hardball then we can look elsewhere go sign sven botman who has been monitored by some of the top clubs if he progresses and performs in prem he will be worth more than double what we would have paid.

Same with tammy we could possibly get 2 strikers for his price. Get 1 of edourd, onauchu, origi. Plus a young striker like Hlzoek, Sima.

8.) 30 Jul 2021 12:33:41
Villa paid like 30-35m for Watkins from the championship so Abraham has to be worth more. Zouma + Abraham + maybe 10m max would be the swap for Rice.

9.) 30 Jul 2021 14:25:38
No swap deal hard cash only and let moyes decide who he want to bring in Personal i wouldn't sell this season and unless it was a really silly price like over 100m and gave us plenty of time to invest the money
If chelsea can get 40m for tammy good luck to them as long as it not us paying it.

10.) 30 Jul 2021 20:47:06
@fuser we value rice minimum 100m and he's worth every penny. Those 2 plus 10 mil would mean you value zouma and Abraham at 90m for the pair simply they are not worth that considering Chelsea want rid of them aswell also lowers the amount that should be paid.

29 Jul 2021 11:40:31
Areola now on board, now for that all important striker we need.

1.) 29 Jul 2021 13:26:53
Assume we are offloading Randolph then?
Bit surprised I thought the Pereira/ Johnstone double swoop had legs particularly if we sent Randolph the opposite way.

2.) 29 Jul 2021 15:17:12
Randolph is going to PSG to compete with donnaruma.

3.) 29 Jul 2021 22:07:10
Areola will be No 1.

Morning all, just another name I'm going to throw out there, would any of you consider Joe Willock, he didn't do too bad on loan at Newcastle last season, just thought I'd ask.

1.) 01 Aug 2021 13:35:24
I like him, he's a decent young player but I think Arteta has plans for him this season. I really expect him to be part of the Arsenal 1st team squad next season.

28 Jul 2021 14:29:45
The bid to buy the club is apparently £500m from PAI Capital who have supposedly got serious money, they would be looking at buying the stadium as well, it's only what I've read?

1.) 28 Jul 2021 16:56:20
I think it could all be a ruse and then when no new players are brought in they will use potential of selling as the excuse and i'm sick of hearing about lingaard. Move on from him. We need a damn striker.

2.) 29 Jul 2021 09:27:20
West Ham’ deal for the Olympic Stadium, could make the DGS very rich indeed. However, a sale of the club isn’t necessarily in the best financial interest for DGS at this point in time. When the Contract for the Olympic Stadium was being drawn up Legacy chiefs, who negotiated the contract with West Ham, were sufficiently concerned that Sullivan and Gold might make a quick fortune by selling up soon after relocating to the Olympic stadium that they incorporated a provision to recoup a percentage of any sale price to the public purse. DGS publicly say they have no plans to sell, but let’s face it, everyone has a price but provision stipulates that any sale within a certain time period, over a certain price would mean DGS don’t receive as much of the sale price themselves.

I will try to explain in Lehman’s Terms the key points of the contract.

In simplified terms, West Ham’s 99-year lease for the Olympic Stadium contains a clause stipulating that a percentage of the proceeds of any sale of the club should go back to the public purse, and that any sale that values the club at £125m or more triggers a repayment of somewhere between 7.5 per cent and 30 per cent, with more punitive rates the higher the price tag and if the deal takes place before summer 2021.

A sale after summer 2026 would not trigger a repayment at all, DGS would get all the sale value (minus the obvious) .

However, it is worth mentioning, the percentage amount paid to the public purse is applied not to the value of the deal but to an “adjusted consideration”, offset against the club’s debt. This means that if there are substantial debts to pay off first, the sale value would need to significantly exceed £125m before the repayment clause was activated and the taxpayer saw any return. The club’s debt (last I remember), owed in the main to DGS, stood at approx. £35m when accounts were last filed. Using that figure, if West Ham were sold today it would take an offer of more than £160m before any repayment was triggered.

Given that DGS have apparently just rejected a £500m offer from PAI Capital (amount mentioned above), if DGS did sell, they’d lose between £23.8-102m (split by ownership percentages) in repayments to the public purse. If they wait until the summer of 2026, they would receive practically the full sale price (split by ownership percentages) .

That is my understanding of matters. Whilst I would love to see West Ham bought by some mega wealthy consortium, I am unsure DGS would consider any offer all the time they would have to reimburse the public purse any amount of the sale price.

23 Jul 2021 15:02:22
Interesting to see Rice having a round of golf with Johnstone, hope they were talking about more than just the weather, lol.

1.) 23 Jul 2021 16:55:32
Anyone know when we enter Europa League? We are not in qualifiers are we?

2.) 24 Jul 2021 12:02:19
We are straight into group stages so need to wait for the draw then kick off September.

3.) 25 Jul 2021 16:06:26
Gonna be a long tough season.

22 Jul 2021 18:17:12
Guys what would you say if Liverpool offered shaqiri and Nat Phillips plus £20m for Bowen and Chelsea offered Abraham and Barkley plus £50m for Rice?

1.) 22 Jul 2021 21:22:41
I like Abraham think he'd be good for us and barkley is a good option to lingard, but don't see this happening Stevie!

2.) 23 Jul 2021 00:06:55
Shaqiri pick liverpool over us and sure we tryed for barkley before he went to chelsea
Let someone else pay the wages and let's get hungry players in no bench warmers.

3.) 23 Jul 2021 02:26:55
As I have suggested a number of time p/ x deals rarely work unless the players want to join us. You have to have all the players want the move, then agree terms, one player on the outer maybe you can get, but when you start adding a couple to a deal it is highly unlikely.

4.) 23 Jul 2021 08:30:13
Agreed SDL can't remember the last time we did a swap deal, Mo you can't blame shaquri for picking Liverpool over us, he's not a player I'd particularly want anyway he goes missing too much.

5.) 24 Jul 2021 14:01:12
I don't blame him redrobbo
Never wanted him also what will he add nothing in my opinon i'd rather play the players we have or youngsters over either barkley or shaquri both are lazy and go missing.

6.) 24 Jul 2021 15:40:36
I’d say yes on both accounts. Abrahams/ Barkley and £50m, Shaqiri/ Philips and £20m. That would be magnificent business. Squad would increase by 2 plus £70m also into the club.
If that could come off it would be the best business of the season. In effect we’d have received £70m cash, Plus £60m in players.

{Ed002's Note - You appreciate there is absolutely no chance of this happening?}

20 Jul 2021 13:30:30
Looks like a shake up on the squad numbers, Benrahma is now 11 and Antonio is our new number 9.

1.) 20 Jul 2021 13:49:10
Sorry, I think Benrahma has 22 now?

The only real chance of getting into the champions league is by winning the Europa league as I very much doubt we will finish top 4, and to do that we need a strong squad, also they promised Rice that they would build a team around him, that’s probably why he hasn’t signed an extended contract yet as he wants to see who comes in, but admittedly there’s still plenty of time but it would be nice to have at least one in by the time the season kicks off, preferably an out n out striker.

Those players had to bust a gut to qualify for Europe, if the squad isn’t strengthened then it would’ve all been for nothing as we won’t have a chance of getting out the group stage, would Moyes have signed a contract knowing there isn’t any money?, I personally think there’s things going on in the back ground and they will make signings, bloody hope so anyway.

Could Coufal play in midfield alongside Soucek with Johnson at right back, Coufal gets forward and knows how to defend and has got the legs to go 90mins unlike Noble?

Just another thing, Wasn’t Moyes disappointed we didn’t sign king in the summer, well he’s still available so why hasn’t he gone for him now?

Completely get it and agree but with his contract still having years to run, the club are probably not in any hurry, the player himself was happy with that contract 12 months ago, if the club had put in his contract that if he helps us get into Europe then they will offer a new contract then that’s what should happen, but he won’t leave as West Ham are in control of it basically, that’s all I was saying, but you’re right he should be up there with the higher earners, let’s see what happens.

Basically West Ham should be in control of his contact as he has 2 years left with West Ham having a further 2 year option so basically he’s got 4 years left on his contract, he’s currently on £1.6m a year, it’s a tough life!
