I'm hearing contract talks have broken down with Soucek!

1.) 21 Apr 2022 23:14:27
Safmt believable mind you we may win this Euro Cup yet ; would he seriously deck off then

2.) 22 Apr 2022 00:07:24
I wouldn’t worry if you are reading that in the press. Players, agents and the club would probably just wait till end of season if the offer wasn’t initially accepted.

3.) 22 Apr 2022 10:06:05
Yes the proverbial backburner is now the best place for this issue; until we see if we win that Euro Cup, and/or how high we finish.

4.) 26 Apr 2022 16:00:46
Addendum - someone has pointed out Tomas is valued around circa 42.5k. And for that money, for a 27 year old; the buyer would have to REALLY want him. So unlikely to just sleepwalk into leaving.

04 Apr 2022 14:30:14
I see that Villa have joined Man Utd in the race for Phillips, we'll what about West Ham, we were the first team to show interest in January (supposedly), Or does this show that we never had an interest in the first place!

1.) 05 Apr 2022 10:38:21
More like lukewarmness all round in our fickle modern times

2.) 16 Apr 2022 13:06:39
Addendum - does anyone seriously beleive our early bid gives us any leg-up in a Pecking Order sorta scenario? in 2022?!

3.) 03 May 2022 00:43:36
Who cares let's secure Phillips on June 1st or whenever window opens. No more pussyfooting and excuses.

29 Mar 2022 17:40:57
Can anyone confirm that we have offered Dejan Lovren 2 year deal?

1.) 29 Mar 2022 21:07:07
Saw similar reports but confirmation from the club yet

2.) 30 Mar 2022 21:09:42
Please don't let that be true he's woefully pedestrian and very clumsy at the best of times we need to steer clear of 30 somethings we have enough experience in our squad.

3.) 30 Mar 2022 21:52:07
This is as a free in the current window for Russia and Ukraine based players, we can use the support.

{Ed002's Note - The Premier League have no plans to have an emergency transfer window. EFL and Scotland do.}

4.) 31 Mar 2022 06:05:47
Yes they are resisting but pressure is being applied, hopefully they stop sticking their heads in the sand.

5.) 31 Mar 2022 13:47:50
There was a rumour doing the rounds last week that we may be allowed to sign 2 Shakta Donetsk forwards in just this sort of scenario.

6.) 31 Mar 2022 22:05:15
Saw that too but Ed is right the Premier League is resisting the FIFA window which makes no sense. Forget which clubs benefit etc. these are footballers who through no fault of their own are now trapped with nowhere to play.

7.) 01 Apr 2022 10:46:05
Sdl yes entirely true - they are in effect BEING politicized by these sins of omission

14 Mar 2022 10:43:04
I've seen one report saying we're in advanced talks to sign Sam Johnstone on a free transfer in the summer?

{Ed002's Note - That would of course be tapping up, which is illegal.}

1.) 14 Mar 2022 20:47:45
Let's hope so gents

2.) 17 Mar 2022 09:54:33
Illegal yes, but happens through agents a lot.

3.) 18 Mar 2022 15:17:21
Agree ;we have to deal with the world as it is, not how we'd like it to be #adulthood

4.) 18 Mar 2022 15:54:28
A British keeper may be useful with all these wars, pandemics and resultant travel bans.

5.) 18 Mar 2022 18:41:43
Areola is much better than Johnstone. Would be a sizeable quality downgrade.

6.) 20 Mar 2022 08:40:58
Yes but will Areola want to stay and be second keeper when he wants to make the France squad for the World Cup.

7.) 20 Mar 2022 10:24:53
Probably not, but there are plenty of other goalkeepers who are better than Johnstone.

8.) 20 Mar 2022 19:32:01
We don't need keepers?

9.) 13 Apr 2022 15:06:44
Bobby Moore's ghost will be there at time of need lol

07 Mar 2022 10:51:14
Three teams monitoring Rashfords position at Utd as he's not happy, and West Ham are one of them apparently.

1.) 07 Mar 2022 21:42:29
Rashfords on £300k per week. No chance of him coming to us.

2.) 08 Mar 2022 09:55:30
Depends if the board etc realise how pissed we were at not getting anyone in the Winter window

3.) 08 Mar 2022 10:25:16
They still won’t destroy the salary structure I wouldn’t think.

4.) 09 Mar 2022 11:57:12
Yes, a bit naive on my part to assume they care about us fans, as it is rarely shown.

5.) 12 Mar 2022 12:35:42
Brereton Diaz back on the radar for summer signing, allegedly of course

6.) 12 Mar 2022 19:53:20
Maybe Declan can convince his mate Mason to join now if we are dreaming. Throw in Lukaku too.

7.) 14 Mar 2022 20:39:55
i can't see DM going for rashford he likes players who track back and roll up there sleeves and gets involved

8.) 18 Mar 2022 15:36:34
It'd be a novelty though to have a striker who isn't a converted full back or MF. Call me old-fashioned. lol

9.) 18 Mar 2022 15:20:35
Chelski won't need the 2 men mentioned.lol. I see Ms Staveley is getting a squaeaky bum as to who may be next in the Bonfire Of The Oligarchs. Will she have to declare her moonlighting as a disciplinarian for naughty boys too (NOT really).

10.) 08 Apr 2022 13:13:40
Back to original topic - within the echelons of WH Smith i note a book by a certain youth saying how anyone can be anything. Then he says he has no confidence.Catch 22 at the very least. lol

27 May 2022 14:46:30
How about Maxwell Cornet from Burnley?

1.) 27 May 2022 18:35:56
No better than what we've got the bloke didn't even know he had signed permanently for burnley. We should be aiming higher.

2.) 28 May 2022 00:59:10
My outlook on it is if moyes will play him get him in
Something strange about last year loans and transfers
Krul vlasic and even areola got very little game time were they moyes picks as he only seemed to put them in when he was forced to
Noted he rarely put players in straight away in the past but sometimes a player needs a run in the team to settle did either start a game?

3.) 28 May 2022 02:28:19
I think Kral started against Man Utd in the League Cup, May have in the Europa League dead tie at home in the last game, and did against Kidderminster. Think Vlasic started a few early on in the season.

4.) 28 May 2022 02:30:36
The few games I watched Cornet play I wasn’t overly impressed.

15 May 2022 16:15:27
The game was there for the taking, how many times has Antonio been through on goal with only the keeper to beat and messed it up, keep him out wide and get a proper striker!

1.) 15 May 2022 16:52:39
Stevie, no finesse Ant unfortunately, he’s been in those positions so often and not capitalised just a bulldozer, but rather have him than not with the size of our squad?
Same old story but competing in Euro again next season we are desperate up front for new bods!
Emotional farewell for Nobes, felt quite choked for him but had a fantastic career??⚒⚒⚒⚒

2.) 15 May 2022 17:36:44
It’s been a superb season. 2 1/4 finals, a semi final and Europe assured for next season already.

3.) 15 May 2022 18:32:56
Blame mikey as much as you like
Hes done a great job people forget he's not a striker
If your looking to blame anyone look at the board haller left over a year ago and whos replaced him
One game left come on you ⚒

4.) 16 May 2022 03:36:39
Yes was impressed with Antonios contribution in the match. He is what he is, a powerful man with limited finesse but puts in a great shift. His hold up then clip over the top to assist Bowen get his second was first class, and then he goes and blows the one on one. That is Micky and we know that, but he was one of the first Pep talked about after the match, he knows what a nuisance to his defenders Antonio was. He is just someone where you have to accept the good with the bad, and appreciate Bowen benefits from a lot of the work he does.

23 Apr 2022 14:03:06
I'm worried about our midfield with Rice not wanting to sign a new contract and Soucek contract talks breaking down its not looking good, if these two were to leave then I think Bowen will follow as it would show the club not having any ambition, the club need to spend big in the summer to stop that from happening.

1.) 23 Apr 2022 21:04:42
Don’t believe what you read. No way at this stage of the season, half a dozen games to go, a big Euro semi final, that anyone is negotiating contracts. Soucek and Rice will have been put on hold till after the season ends and papers and pundits are just making up stories. To potentially upset anyone by talking contracts at the moment would be stupid and I doubt anyone has.

2.) 24 Apr 2022 11:52:33
Leave it with Moyse.

The papers are also touting us to spend bucketloads this summer.

I doubt if that’s true either, but I can always hope.

3.) 24 Apr 2022 12:05:30
Yes read 150 million, papers just make stuff up as does that Fabrizio fellow and that ExWHUEmployee guy.

4.) 24 Apr 2022 21:40:07
As previously mentioned hack journos either make it up or it's based on very flimsy evidence; like the postman's mom once said.lol

17 Apr 2022 16:16:21
Another game slips by that we really should've won, wish Westwood a speedy recovery, and we surely have to put a bid in for Pope after that performance.

1.) 17 Apr 2022 23:17:12
Was thinking the same about Pope if they go down. He should be Englands number one in my view.

2.) 17 Apr 2022 23:44:18
If I were DM I’d buy Pope and Tarkowski

3.) 18 Apr 2022 22:31:57
Yes re purchase of those guys. Injury looked fecking awful even just in the paper.

4.) 27 Apr 2022 14:49:16
Hope that's not Tim Westwood - hasten his doom more like the Jafaican pervert

17 Apr 2022 11:26:41
Guys, with the World Cup coming up who woo you prefer in defence, Maguire or Dawson, it's a no brainier for me, I would just like to see players picked on form and not the name!

1.) 17 Apr 2022 12:39:28
Stevie, I definitely do not like any of our players being called up for International duties no matter how well they are playing, especially now being involved in Europe, it’s to much Football, so easy to pick up injuries or be knackered for club games! I have said it before on here but a classic is years ago Dean Ashton got virtually crippled in a bloody training game by Sean Wright Phillips, that virtually finished him as a player& he was forced to retire early!

2.) 17 Apr 2022 13:38:36
Agreed Chelmsford, while I know the players want to play and it does add to their values, I too would rather they be feet up on the couch watching other players risk injury at international time.

3.) 17 Apr 2022 23:47:19
Is there a better English centre back in the country’s this year than Dawson. Think he’d do a job for England. All the other centre backs are woefully out of form. Surely, Southgate must be considering him.

4.) 18 Apr 2022 08:18:47
Markwhu, totally agree with Dawson comment, he is immense for us, but I hope he’s completely off Southgate’s radar!??⚒⚒⚒

5.) 18 Apr 2022 09:05:47
Just remember guys England will only win the World Cup with three West Ham players in the team, (just like 66) ?Rice Bowen and Dawson

6.) 18 Apr 2022 13:42:35
Stevie, I only care about our ⚒’s, sorry mate, of course I always want England to win, but not to the detriment of our players and club. ⚒⚒⚒⚒

7.) 18 Apr 2022 13:49:22
Yes but no Spurs player so need to drop Kane before the final ?

8.) 18 Apr 2022 22:33:42
Hehehe. Mmm can see both sides; very uncomfy on this fence - splinters in me bum soon

9.) 21 Apr 2022 13:02:07
Ok - we cannot now spare or afford Dawson.

Ed, I thought Fabianski signed for another year, maybe use him as a number 2, would Pope be available if Burnley go down?

{Ed002's Note - I thought the extra year ran out this coming summer.}

Let’s hope so mate, then we just need to get that striker in that we desperately need.

Sdl, the offer was probably £1m upfront with the other £99m paid over 500 years, ?

If Lingard really wants to come to West Ham but Man Utd are blocking the move then all I would say to Lingard is hang in there until the summer then we can get you on a free transfer, he’ll still have time to show his qualities again to Southgate and force his way back in the England squad.

Lingard is just waiting for West Ham to make a bid, so I don’t know why we haven’t yet?

We’re also linked heavily with Pope, I just can’t see that if Areola is going to sign?

Cresswell committed the same foul against Lyon, you just can’t grab someone as they will go down, just see if the keeper would’ve saved it and if not then we go a goal down but still have 11 players, could’ve quit easily come back with 11 players!

Maybe he’ll put Rice at centre back, with kral and Noble in front of defence push Soucek on behind Antonio, Bowen and Benrahma/Fornels?

We just need a striker, yesterday showed Antonio is not a striker (as if we didn’t know that already).
