Don't know if true or not but just read that Lingard to join West Ham on a permanent deal for £21.5m.

1.) 20 Apr 2021 10:36:49
Read that also but right now I don’t pay attention to any story until it comes true. No doubt tomorrow there will be a story that Man Utd want to keep him, the next day will be he agreed with Arsenal then it will be PSG etc. only time we will know is in the summer.

14 Apr 2021 20:22:36
I've seen a couple of reports saying West Ham are in pole position to sign Celtic striker, Edouard?

1.) 15 Apr 2021 07:58:43
If you read hammers. news they publish 3rd party reports that link us with everyone lol.

Hypothetical though: would you swap Rice for Lingard and Dean Henderson if Man Utd came calling?

{Ed077's Note - Dean Henderson has seemingly become first choice at Man Utd so why would they offer him as part of a deal for Rice?

2.) 15 Apr 2021 08:12:50
Stevie, rumours are everywhere as we know, I dislike them until a deal is done so try to ignore, but sometimes you there may be some some truth or hope not!
Edouard has played for Rogers at Celtic, so they know each other, so providing Rogers rated him, surely that puts Leicester in pole position, but situations and circumstances change, but I wouldn’t be unhappy with him going by his goal scoring record!
More worryingly for me on BBC gossip today, it says, Lingard is undecided about whether to return to ManU, also Rice is considering ManU as well!
Well if that’s the case, Poor DM must wonder what he has to do to retain our most influential players and hope it doesn’t unsettle our other signings if that was to happen! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒.

{Ed077's Note - why would you worry about anything on the BBC gossip page? It is just the collection of transfer headlines/rumours in other rags, don't lose much sleep over them.

3.) 15 Apr 2021 10:15:04
Ed077. Oh they wouldn’t offer Henderson but that would be my hypothetical price for Rice.

{Ed077's Note - personally I dont see Rice leaving WHU this summer with European footy looking very very likely for WHU (IMO). And nor do I think he should if WHU get to Europe.}

4.) 15 Apr 2021 20:31:20
Agree Ed, if we are able to close out the season well and make Europe, even if only the Europa League, I can see him staying. He would get to play in Europe, would be playing in a team which is hopefully still improving and will attract some new players, and will be captain. But mostly unless it all turns back to a relegation struggle why would he leave London to live in Manchester?

{Ed077's Note - agreed on most part. Cant comment London or Manchester conundrum.}

16 Mar 2021 17:23:43
Hi chaps, I know we've been saying about maybe signing a keeper, would it be worth keeping an eye on Sam Johnson at WBA, especially if they get relegated, do you think he's good enough?

1.) 20 Mar 2021 20:26:30
Personally I’d rather see us go for players with a winning mentality. I think Soucek and Coufal have been excellent additions and their pedigree as winners (albeit a lesser league), has really shone through. Ondrej Kolar would be my number one choice. 77 clean sheets in 142 games at Slavia Prague. Obviously this would be dependent on him recovering from the fractured skull he got in the Rangers game.

2.) 24 Mar 2021 16:40:35
He'd have been my first choice as well. He's flown under the radar a bit but I'd not be at all surprised to see one of the usual big European club suspects to be sniffing around once he's recovered.

3.) 26 Mar 2021 03:56:01
Our main agenda in the summer is keeping RICE and SOUCEK as I truly believe there will be big bids for both so sort that future problem and then I think an attacker a goalkeeper and another holding midfielder and we will give anybody a challenging game.

4.) 28 Mar 2021 17:15:25
with a lot of clubs have limited funds due C.V. 19 and lack of spectators I've seen post saying we have between 40-50 mill to spend plus what DM generates from sales anderson lanzini amongst a couple of others who maybe are on there way out, what's required 2 strikers DM cover for RB and if funds are available GK to challenge for top spot don't think that will happen in this window. good chance to also bring through the youngters.

22 Feb 2021 20:47:06
Apparently we have expressed our interest to Man Utd for goalkeeper Dean Henderson?

1.) 22 Feb 2021 21:39:08
Good keeper and he wants gam time. Pope would be another of interest to us.

2.) 23 Feb 2021 10:29:26
For me it's Pope all day long. However Henderson is also a very good keeper. BOTH would be very hard to get i think, and neither will come cheap at all.

3.) 23 Feb 2021 14:21:07
These goalkeepers are all very top class I admit but we have fabianski playing out of his skin and these others will want to be number 1 so what do you do?

4.) 24 Feb 2021 05:03:03
id go with pope over henderson would have more of a chance prising him away from burnley on a much lower price that man u would demand for there GK.

5.) 24 Feb 2021 18:02:15
Rumour is that Man it'd will let up to 4 keepers go and the want Pope

Ed you heard anything on this?

{Ed077's Note - you mean Man United? Romero is out of contract and leaving in the summer for free I believe, Lee Grant is going to retire and move into a coaching role and Joel Pereira is probably going to be let go as well. So Man Utd don't want to lose either of De Gea or Henderson but Dean might become more restless and things might change. And Pope will not be the first choice GK at Man Utd and he most likely wouldn't move there to be 2nd choice I would think.}

6.) 25 Feb 2021 11:24:38
Thanks ed always great to get you guys perspective rather than MSM rumours.

{Ed077's Note - well I don't have any insight info so my "perspective" is mostly my opinion. But then the MSM are mostly full of cr@p and seem to throw random names around linking them with any club they please without any info or corroboration.}

7.) 02 Mar 2021 23:34:10
Pope would be like a Phil Parkes signing. It’d make everyone see we are serious.

10 Feb 2021 14:27:39
I've been reading that we could be dipping into the free market for a striker, Odubeko had the chance to show what he could do but he didn't really put himself about that much, I know he didn't have a lot to feed off but he just wasn't strong enough and lost possession quite a lot, so I think that's why we're looking to get someone in!

1.) 10 Feb 2021 19:31:23
Costa? Would he come? Could GSB afford the wage demands.

{Ed002's Note - I think it very unlikely that he will show up at WHU this season and the Dildo Brothers are not in a position to make it happen easily. He is back in Brazil right now and has some short-term options.}

2.) 11 Feb 2021 20:48:29
Thanks Ed great info and insight as always.

3.) 11 Mar 2021 04:27:14
Hiya stevie66 you can't judge odubeko on a couple of substitute appearences mate, he's only just old enough to play the lottery and get pissed let's judge him after a run of i believe 10 or so games then we can get a feel for if he's good enough but i can see it being an ashley fletcher signing who we got from utd and he couldn't trap a bag of blue circle, pity we didn't get Rashford or Greenwood that's why Utd are where they are and they know a good player when they see one, but they did let pogba go for silly money first time round.

UEFA and FIFA have said they don't want the players of these super league teams playing for their country, how do the players feel about that, players probably want to carry on playing for their country's but as they're contracted to their clubs how do they get out of it if their clubs are unwilling to sell them, I can see players going on strike if they don't want any part of this, it's only the owners and nobody else that wants this to happen, pure Greed.

1.) 19 Apr 2021 16:50:03
If this so called Super League goes ahead, I can see the equivalent of “ Football Civil War” amongst clubs and supporters!
There will be much anger vented against the super greedy clubs with the insatiable appetite tor even more money making!
Greed has long been the money cancer in Football, which as many know is often terminal, let’s hope it doesn’t kill our working mans game! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

2.) 20 Apr 2021 05:46:57
uefa are saying there contracts could be canceled then its up to the player carry playing for the said team then international/ domestic ban can apply will be interesting given the scream if there any takers for the other 3 teams.

3.) 20 Apr 2021 10:38:27
Not sure contracts would be cancelled that would need a fair bit of legal involvement. The player is under a contract as an employee of the club not UEFA.

17 Apr 2021 13:28:56
That's a very poor first half, our play is too slow, we just keep going side to side!

11 Apr 2021 16:58:06
Guys, I've noticed Greenwood is only a benchwarmer at Utd these days, could we not throw a load of money at Utd for Lingard and Greenwood, I don't know how much Greenwood is worth but if you said £50m for both would that be enough, I mean we paid £45m for Haller, it might give Utd something to think about as they might need to make room to sign Haaland just thought I'd put it out there?

1.) 11 Apr 2021 18:40:25
And then he comes on and makes the difference.

{Ed077's Note - And Greenwoods not a benchwarmer. He is the first choice RW most weeks

2.) 11 Apr 2021 19:07:59
I don’t think he’s first name on team sheet, he’s being rotated with Cavani!

{Ed077's Note - Cavani plays ST, Mason doesn't play there much. Only on a couple of occasion when we are rotating or moving players around. Mason has played most of his games at right side forward/right winger, where there isn't any standout candidate.

3.) 11 Apr 2021 21:41:25
I cannot see Man Utd selling Greenwood and Lingard!
And lingard is going to have plenty of admirers after his recent performances.

4.) 12 Apr 2021 10:51:59
Stevie66, Not sure if you watch United's games, Greenwood plays mostly on the Right side of attack as a first choice. At times he plays up front if Cavani is unavailable.

Lingard is most likely to be sold. If Rice is included as a swap option, West Ham will have a huge advantage.

5.) 12 Apr 2021 11:09:43
Oh yes, £50m for Greenwood and Lingard. How could manchester united turn that down?

Maybe if you chucked in another fiver and a mars bar, wed let you have bruno fernandes as well lol.

11 Apr 2021 16:05:24
Have we not learnt from the Arsenal game and the Wolves game, how come we go 3 up and every time the other team comes back, it's ridiculous it goes to show we shouldn't sit back even at 3-0!

11 Apr 2021 15:07:00
Are we allowed to start negotiating with Man Utd for Lingard or have we got to wait until end of season, at this rate Utd will want to wait if he keeps banging the goals in his price will rocket, if they want £40m then pay it, the boy is on fire.

{Ed077's Note - Lingard has only 1 year left on his deal though.

1.) 11 Apr 2021 16:22:14
I know he’s only got a year left on his contract but if we um and Ah for too long someone else might nip in for him, but having said that I think he wants to come to West Ham as it’s working out perfectly for him, he could go somewhere else and not turn out so good, if we don’t sign him I think there’ll be an uproar amongst the fans.

Could Coufal play in midfield alongside Soucek with Johnson at right back, Coufal gets forward and knows how to defend and has got the legs to go 90mins unlike Noble?

Just another thing, Wasn’t Moyes disappointed we didn’t sign king in the summer, well he’s still available so why hasn’t he gone for him now?

Unless they sign Dawson?

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

Think there might be an agreement of £1m loan fee for Lingard, which is less than Utd originally wanted.

You can only have two domestic loans at any one time but you can still get loans from abroad.

Would this breakaway make Lingards decision easier, weather to stay or go, and could these clubs possibly get punished with a points deduction?

I think we have an obligation to buy Dawson once he plays a certain number of games for us which I think he has done now, so Dawson will be signed permanently for about £2m.
