I've read that West Ham are prepared to meet West Broms asking price for Rondon £16.5m?

1.) 17 May 2019 16:45:36
they are coming thick and fast now just see we are in for grealish to.

2.) 17 May 2019 16:50:07
I rate Rondon, would have liked to have seen us make a move for him when he went to Newcastle👍.

3.) 17 May 2019 17:14:27
who would you guys prefer, Rondon or Mitrovic, I also see Arsenal are in for Gomez?

4.) 17 May 2019 18:02:23
Apparently Mitrovic according to posters on here and Ed has an attitude problem, we don’t want another Arnie, so providing Rondon doesn’t have an attitude he would be my choice of the two!

5.) 17 May 2019 23:42:54
Saw rumour Carroll to get a new incentivised contract - I hope not and I doubt it. Shelvey keeps popping up, not really a fan. Marega, if we can’t get Gomez, yes please but won’t he want European football too? Etheridge - good safe pair of hands as backup to Fabianski.

6.) 18 May 2019 11:54:32
Rondon for me.

7.) 18 May 2019 17:08:56
Costahamner I don’t know you but do you really think we only need to swap you for Robson, if so let’s get it done :P.

8.) 18 May 2019 17:48:18
Rondon not Robson damn iOS.

15 May 2019 15:11:59
Seen reports that Marega is most likely to be sold to a prem club, and West Ham is his most likely destination?

1.) 15 May 2019 21:38:38
Gomez for me because of his age, but Marega is a very decent 2nd best.

2.) 16 May 2019 16:31:01
I really don't think Gomez will come to us bigger clubs will be in for him, Marega is a more realistic target.

3.) 17 May 2019 16:49:34
why not both, if we want to chalenge next years top 6.

4.) 17 May 2019 18:25:53
Have to agree with you we have spent 2 much time in past on strikers Lacazette batsuyi spelling. only to find we have been wasting our time. arnie will stay unless silly offer comes in. carroll n Perez will go Chico has a yr left on his contract on a decent wage and we want to recoup part of the 16 mill we paid out for him. and possibly promote one of the youngsters to 4th choice the big decision will be with which youngsters MP promotes. With the likes off holland Johnson and others looking to break into the squad. in regards to trot goalie he may go out on loan for the season and we will bring in cover for 12 months.

5.) 18 May 2019 09:34:04
Remember all . its not who the club want its . who they can attract . two very different things.

6.) 18 May 2019 14:32:38
Exactly so we will be competing against wolves Everton Leicester for similar players anyone beeing chased by a top 6 we will struggle to sign.

7.) 18 May 2019 16:13:21
There’s always an issue with competing v the top six for players.

Our best arguments are that we are targeting Europe and that the incoming player would be an automatic first team pick if he stayed fit and on form.

8.) 18 May 2019 19:11:06
Exactly but I get the impression that these days ( please input Ed's) that it's more about talking the agent round first then let him / her talk the player into it, I know that's a bit of a short line and leaves lots out ( player ambition just to start with ) but football is a business first and a spectator sport second . wow what have I put in my tea?

{Ed002's Note - Jason you are largely correct - the transfer process is based on the club and the agent working together.}

15 Apr 2019 12:10:31
Has anyone else seen us linked with Perisic, thought he was the wrong side of 30, do we need older players?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of Perisic but Benito Raman (LW/F) - WHU have watched Raman on a couple of occasions.}

1.) 15 Apr 2019 13:04:48
Thanks for that Ed.

2.) 16 Apr 2019 18:23:55
Sorry lads but i do think we should stick to buying younger plaers. Look at the players we are stuck with over 30 No resale value at all.

3.) 16 Apr 2019 23:19:40
Is Raman any good? See he plays for Leverkusen but have no idea about German league.

4.) 16 Apr 2019 21:08:46
is he any good ED heard the name but have no idea if he is any good or not.

{Ed002's Note - There is already interest from several sides and that will grow as we get closer to the end of the season. He plays for Fortuna Dusseldorf and is a well respected LW who can play as a more central forward and on the right. He is very well liked.}

14 Apr 2019 08:11:29
I've seen that Real Madrid are talking to Rice and his family over a move to Spain, all I can say is because of his young age and length of contract he's only going to get better and better so IF he goes anywhere then the price should be in the 100s of millions?

1.) 14 Apr 2019 10:20:07
Anything is possible Stevie, but I'm not sure the source is credible, one for the Ed's opinion I'd say.

{Ed002's Note - He is represented by his family and I don't know if they have approached them or not. They cannot speak directly to the player and if they have West Ham can make a formal complaint to UEFA. Sides have taken a look as he is having a very good season. The sides include Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Spurs - and Real Madrid were present at the Chelsea game, and they may well be looking to an offer, certainly if Casemiro were to leave.}

2.) 14 Apr 2019 12:44:09
Thank you ed.

3.) 14 Apr 2019 15:07:01
How could he refuse if the offer is credible? Good luck to him, Madrid seems rather more attractive than Stratford😂🤣 he maybe able to ask for family arrangements etc as he seems a very family orientated man and May insist on that if they want him enough they will accommodate his wishes, we just need to make sure we capitalise on the fee obviously!

{Ed002's Note - I think West Ham should do what they can to hold on to him longer - perhaps explaining that he would likely not be a starter at RM or MU.}

4.) 14 Apr 2019 15:26:50
Ed002, At that age in in a different climate with life seeming like one long holiday, earning a fortune, phew that might hard to refuse depending on your personality and dedication!

{Ed002's Note - If he is bright enough he will understand (at least I hope he would).}

5.) 14 Apr 2019 15:41:15
Agree ed, at any huge team he could be a project and not an automatic pick, if he wants first team football then I hope he stays put.

{Ed002's Note - I hope so to. It will be good for both the club and the player.}

6.) 14 Apr 2019 17:52:44
Another season or 2 with us would probably be best, if he continues at this rate man u and real are the only 2 teams that could afford him out of the ones you mentioned. He was superb yesterday, countless brilliant tackles always intelligent in his play, he keeps getting better in a attacking sense too. Would love him to do a Billy Bonds but the lure of competing for the champions league with real is more than understandable.

7.) 15 Apr 2019 03:09:00
Too many next big things have gone to Real Madrid and ended up never playing. If he is good enough he will get offers later, right now he needs to be playing and only likely place that will happen every week next season is West Ham. After that unless we push top 6 I fear he will be off.

8.) 15 Apr 2019 10:15:57
Iron. Al - don't forget we bought Billy Bonds from Charlton (he played 95 times for them) - he didn't come through our youth system.

All footballers think they will be or should be starters. You don't get to where Rice is now without tremendous self-belief and he will believe he will get game time at a big club of they pay a fortune for him.

9.) 15 Apr 2019 12:09:37
Yes Bonds only got the captains armband because Lampard was looking for a transfer.

06 Apr 2019 14:59:19
I've seen a lot of reports stating that we've agreed a deal with Dzeko?

1.) 06 Apr 2019 20:14:15
I’ve read those, too.

He has been and still is (just about) a quality front man, but Roma’s valuation for a player of his age is ridiculous.

MP knows him as well as any, so bringing him on board makes sense - at a sensible price.

2.) 07 Apr 2019 02:44:47
To old . Too pricy.

3.) 07 Apr 2019 20:23:17
Apparently according to Media, MP. willing to offer Dzeko £160k a week! Offload some of the overpaid players either not playing or doing F. A. I don’t think it would be a bad deal, depending on contract length?

{Ed002's Note - The coach does not decide the wages that will be paid.}

4.) 07 Apr 2019 21:23:36
Ed002, just quoting in the Media it states “ Pellegrini is prepared to pay him £160k a week”.

{Ed002's Note - It is not how it works I am afraid.}

5.) 08 Apr 2019 10:38:27
Yeah, reckon our owners will balk at that price.

6.) 08 Apr 2019 10:52:38
That would smash our wage structure and have others clamouring for more. Sully won’t do it.

7.) 08 Apr 2019 10:18:52
Would it be fair to say that Birmingham blaming Redknapp and Zola for playing a massive part in their current situation is a little out of line?
Managers ask for players and what not but ultimately the signing and final terms any players are offered are down to the owner/ chairman.

{Ed002's Note - They are scratching around for excuses. It is rarely the owner or chairman who get involved closely in transfers, and not the case at Birmingham - although it is at West Ham and the primary reason the club has been held back in recent years.}

8.) 08 Apr 2019 13:49:37
We are such a strange club. Even our own fans are weird these days. Don’t know what we want and currently no idea as to how to progress at all.

Until the miracle happens and we become a stable club we should be happy with the odd win over the top 5. I miss getting a result against Chelsea one week then losing to cheltenham a week later and the world not ending over it.

9.) 08 Apr 2019 14:25:53
Ed, will it be Husillos acting on behalf of west ham now?

Was he the man behind last window?

{Ed002's Note - One of the owners still has far too much involvement with the transfers at West Ham United, but I have zero confidence that Mario Husillos can fix anything at all - it was a hopeless appointment as I said at the time.}

10.) 08 Apr 2019 14:43:51
To be fair, I miss those days too.
Am pragmatic enough to realise that we are mid table at best.
Our signings and the amount spent on them has been a little strange though - I see clubs buying smart and learning, yet we only ever seem to make the same mistake.
Either old/ payday players or temperamental players who will leave the moment things go against them.
I would much rather the club go back to its roots and develop youth for a fraction of the cost and get some sort of business model going. If we ever want to compete with Chelsea (41 youngsters loaned out) or Man City (28 players loaned out)
I know that Fifa wants to stop this but cannot see them beating the combined might of some of Europe's top clubs and think this is what we *must* do.

11.) 08 Apr 2019 18:38:08
I agree but it’s out of our hands. So why worry?
Just hope for a time in which the players try for an extended period and play entertaining football. Regardles of how they came to play for us and for how much etc.

Hope used to be important in football. Now the overriding feeling is despair with the majority of fans. It’s a shame.

15 May 2019 20:47:06
Carroll, Hernandez, Perez out, Marega, Zapata and Gomez in, that'll do me 👍.

1.) 15 May 2019 20:58:30
I'd be happier if u throw in brahimi and herrea to.

2.) 16 May 2019 12:39:41
When did we get £150m and Champions league football?
Did i miss something? LOL
Good players, i would be happy to get just one of them!

28 Apr 2019 08:23:03
Morning chaps, there's a chance we could get rid of 4 strikers in the summer, so who would you like to see come in, would Wilson (Bournemouth) do a job for us he would give us some much needed pace, Mitrovic maybe as a target man, maybe Adams (Birmingham), just a few names there to get you going, be interesting to hear what your thoughts are chaps?

1.) 28 Apr 2019 10:31:45
I do like wilson but Bournemouth are quoting 40 mil. and would he want to come to us? Not too sure. I'd take mitrovic. good option to come on for. Adams. well. again 17 mil is bei g quoted. a lot for a champ player with no experience. Could turn out to be brilliant but as we see from a lot of champ strikers. they can't cut it in the prem. It's a gamble yes. If we look abroad we have the same problem but cheaper. Hopefully we can find a gem.

2.) 28 Apr 2019 12:14:11
Adams out of them 3 for me . I would like us to look at poulsen at rb leipzig.

3.) 28 Apr 2019 13:35:08
I think maybe even rondon could be worth a look at. He’s only on loan at Newcastle so should be available in the summer.
Tammy Abraham could be worth a gamble aswell if available and is the kind of young player we should be looking at.
I think Mitrovic would also do a job for us as an option aswell.

4.) 28 Apr 2019 14:11:47
Antonio, what more can you say other than you will not see many goals as good as that no matter who we may be looking at! Hope this is proving his doubters wrong, always liked his grafting, now maybe getting his rewards👍has lots of pace, can bully defenders, now proving he can score under pressure, that was equivalent to Vardy at his best, watched it so many times now, contender for any goal competition👍 Keep him in the middle up front now, Anderson needs to not be so greedy and look for others instead of going for glory, Ant and & Arnie we’re both virtually unmarked in the area when he got that super through ball but then shot weakly at Lloris!

5.) 28 Apr 2019 15:45:52
I'd take a gamble on Tammy. Knows the league and has proven to score goals consistently and is young.

{Ed002's Note - WHU are not one of the clubs who are interested in TA. Take a look at Mitrovic and Florian Aye.}

6.) 28 Apr 2019 17:10:49
Is there still interest in Maxi Gomez at all or is that done with now. Does anyone know anything about this Florian aye? Would he be a decent addition?

{Ed002's Note - The interest remains but others can offer European football, which will make it tough.}

7.) 28 Apr 2019 17:15:24
Also in an ideal world we would sell Hernandez, arnautovic and Perez but unfortunately I cannot see arnie leaving I don’t think teams will be interested. Since the China saga he has been poor and I don’t think teams will risk paying money for someone of his age and to me always looks injured. The problem is most of the players we want to sell won’t fetch a good price so I think it’s going to have to be a clever transfer market if we are going to improve with the lack of money the owners are willing to invest.

8.) 29 Apr 2019 04:14:04
So I read 60 million budget somewhere, add maybe 20 through sales will make it hard to bring in a lot of really good players so will be maybe a couple plus some frees and loans.

9.) 29 Apr 2019 06:55:44
hammerdave, I think Abraham’s as well and mentioned on a post on here previously, but Ed said Leipzig had also made an approach, he’s gone back to Chelsea from Villa now!

10.) 29 Apr 2019 19:38:45
Probably want silly money for him no doubt.

11.) 29 Apr 2019 20:08:36
I’d look at Abrahams or Mitrovic. Two strikers who do not suffer from injury. I wouldn’t touch Wilson as he’s had two cruciate ops previously.

12.) 30 Apr 2019 13:44:44
Agree, Callum Wilson is big money for a 27yr old with cruciate history. I would love to see us line up with Gomez or Belotti as our first choice, with Mitrovic, Antonio and Silva as back-ups. Two decent young strikers may be a push however.
Whatever happens i would like Arnie out, even if we are offered £20m
Really hope we see more of Yarmolenko, Diangana, Holland and a fully firing Lanzini and Wilshere next season. It is also vital Sanchez stays fit to provide back up for Dec. Deccers looks jaded, much like Diop was before his break.

13.) 01 May 2019 15:50:56
I don’t see us getting rid of 4 strikers I see Perez and Carroll being moved on I’d like Gomes mitrovic or Chris woods. we will struggle to shift Chico because of his wages.

21 Apr 2019 07:21:20
Another bad decision by the officials, when you think that's now two games in a row we've been robbed and not forgetting the Liverpool home game when Milner was 3 yards offside leading up to their first goal so you could say we've had 7 points at least robbed from us in those 3 games alone, it's a joke.

1.) 21 Apr 2019 23:46:38
True, but then we turned defeat into victory with Chichas handball goal a few weeks back that got us going. I think we would come out the wrong end of a comparison of bad decisions for and against so don't get me wrong, but as supporters we tend to always count the ones against us and not the ones we get.
Incidentally having seen VAR for two seasons in Australia, don't get too excited that it will fix these things.

2.) 22 Apr 2019 07:25:58
I think this stupid off side rule has been a pain in the a— for years, all types of games won and lost on poor and incorrect decisions, the speed of the game makes it so easy for incorrect calls either way to be made! I know we have VAR coming in, but an experimental season in one of the lower divisions completely doing away with the offside rule would be very interesting imo?

3.) 22 Apr 2019 10:59:08
Why is MP continuing to start MA when he has no interest whatsoever? I am not the biggest fan of Perez bu he deserves a start in front of MA providing he is fit! Is he just being put in the shop window for possible suitors, he’s possibly better off left out if so, as he would hardly impress anybody? Perez runs and tries and got his reward with a well taken goal and was wrongly denied a second due to a terrible decision that would have sealed the 3 points for us!

4.) 22 Apr 2019 14:39:49
I would love to see games with no offsides my Sunday league team used to play tournaments with no offsides and it really opened game up especially from corners could just boom the ball forward and as a striker was either one on one or had one defender to battle not always pretty but makes for fun viewing.

5.) 22 Apr 2019 17:38:17
Mistley, exactly, I think potentially it could be so much more exciting to watch, the offside rule with its interpretation has caused so much furore and anger with huge amounts of Money potentially lost where it could have caused relegation and loss of income! No doubt a lot of purists May disagree, at least VAR should help but it needs to be at every level not just Premiership level!

6.) 22 Apr 2019 23:38:27
That's just stupid, if there was no offside rule there would be nothing left that men know that women don't :)

7.) 23 Apr 2019 07:04:24
🤣😂 yeh good Sdl, can see you’re now a typical “Ozzie” drinking your tinnies🍺 and having your Barbie🤭 Sad part is Sdl does anybody understand when the interfering with play comes into it, that can be an opinion only surely a lot of the time? Keepers could argue any player in their site line is interfering or influencing the play, but sure the game would be less controversial and exciting anyway without it, but never going to happen!

8.) 24 Apr 2019 17:11:33
Chelmsford and SDL as Brian Clough used to say "if a player isn't interfering with play once he crosses the White Line he shouldn't be on the pitch"

9.) 24 Apr 2019 21:12:24
merceri, yeh couldn’t be more true, we have a few though that it doesn’t apply too😂🤣.

10.) 24 Apr 2019 23:15:05
Arnie shouldn’t be called offside these days on that basis.

11.) 25 Apr 2019 07:44:00
Arnie was one of those I was referring too👍 🤣.

13 Apr 2019 19:26:35
Thought they played well today, we was robbed!

1.) 13 Apr 2019 22:18:26
I didn't know fergie was now a referee as well as a timekeeper horseowner and director the man will be on BGT soon I mean was it him in disguise because graham scot without doubt is a red 100% as that was up there with a byased a performance you will see and we didn't deserved that.

13 Apr 2019 18:23:45
I hope the ref looks at those decisions at half time because he needs to give us two decisions now?

On the other hand chaps, am I right in saying by winning the Europa league you qualify for champions league, that could be our only way to get to play champions league football (as it's going to be difficult to get into the top four, ) therefore attracting quality players, but I completely understand what you're saying.

If Ajax didn’t time waste then the whistle might’ve been blown sooner, it doesn’t always pay to time waste as the ref will add it on and a bit more.

Chelsea might not let him leave as they've got a transfer embargo, they can't get anyone in, especially if Hazard leaves as his virtually out of contract.

{Ed002's Note - Putting aside any thoughts of an "embargo", Chelsea has had a very good offer for Tammy Abraham already from another side and will talk to the player at the end of the season.}
