I’ve just read that Soton want Downes plus £10m for KWP.

Tell them they can do one.

Downes was Soton’s best player by a street last year.

Move on and get Wan-Bissaka on board. He wants to come back to London.

1.) 12 Jul 2024 17:42:29
Yeah exactly. SAINTS are living in dream world. I see we are still being linked with Tobido but won't make a move till either Zouma or Aguerd leave which might come back to bite us. We are also interested in jake o'brien another CB? go get wan bissaka and a decent left back and our back 4 is sorted, then focus on wingers and forwards if we keep Downes

2.) 12 Jul 2024 19:23:11
We need to keep an eye on home grown. I think it’s 8/25 for the named squad.

3.) 12 Jul 2024 19:56:09
I think Mavro will improve with Kilman beside him, but we still need to shift at least one of Aguerd/Zouma. Aguerd wants to leave, Zouma doesn’t. If Aguerd goes and we get a decent replacement and Zouma stays, he’ll do a lot of bench sitting.

Let’s get a proper, proven striker in first.

The Soule noise hasn’t gone away. I wonder if we’re looking at him as a Paqueta replacement. He has bags of skill and a brilliant eye for a defence splitting pass.

1.) 15 Jun 2024 06:58:05
Yeah it seems we are PREPARING a bid?

2.) 15 Jun 2024 09:03:37
Maybe 1 in 10 of the “reports” about our transfer activity are really worth reading. I’ve just read that Fofana is available…that would be nice.

3.) 16 Jun 2024 09:29:54
Hmmm fofana, alvarez midfield very nice

4.) 16 Jun 2024 11:38:42
Fofana and Alvarez as a midfield two would be awesome, Fofana would be my number one signing this summer.

{Ed002's Note - No chance I am afraid.}

5.) 16 Jun 2024 22:15:16
…just like my dreams…

16 May 2024 17:58:50
Reports are that WH get an extra £1m each year for the next five years if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League as part of the Rice deal.

Whilst that’s already happened this year (so that’s another £1m in the bank), what about a scenario where Arsenal needed us to lose on the last day to ensure that they qualified for the CL?

The PL, or FA, or whoever has the clout, should stop these sort of contract clauses, which have the potential to encourage match fixing.

Mmpr

1.) 16 May 2024 21:28:46
Yeah, but put it this way, that £1m pays Danny Ings wages for 8 weeks.

#worthit lol.

2.) 17 May 2024 13:45:09
Mmpr, in the context of money values that would sure be a pittance especially when we’ll get smashed anyway, unless Merson or Harry did the deal??⚒️⚒️⚒️

3.) 20 May 2024 09:48:09
True, but if the powers that be are chasing players for gambling, then they should not condone contract clauses that enable a club to make a financial gain by losing a match.

Just sayin’.

03 Apr 2024 18:11:01
Eds, is it likely to be true that any new contract offered to Moyse will remove his veto from buying players? If so, I can’t imagine him signing it. He couldn’t cope without the power and would hate that Steidten has more influence.

Mmpr

{Ed002's Note - For me, it is understood that his struggles with David Moyes are very much based on how Moyes utilises the players he has rather than over specific transfers. I would expect West Ham to move Moyes on before letting Steidten depart.}

1.) 03 Apr 2024 22:57:20
Thx for your reply. I bloody well hope that your view proves to be true.

12 Jan 2024 10:26:26
Gimenez rumours surfacing.

Great finisher, good pace and physical presence, threat in the air and, most importantly is in the right place at the right time.

Yes, please.

Mmpr

{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Having another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option in the summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Others, such as Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't totally discount Napoli.}

1.) 12 Jan 2024 11:36:30
Thx for the update. Ah, well.

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely I am afraid.

A few potential options to consider:
Armando Broja (S) Torino, Besiktas, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Milan, West Ham and Napoli remain keen. Brighton may offer another option to keep him in the Premier League. Cheslea do not wish to loan the player and will look to discussions before the summer but have discussed a part exchange with Benfica. A January move is unlikely.
Vangelis Pavlidis (S) AZ will not want to sell but are aware Fulham and Eintracht Frankfurt have been scouting the player regularly. West Ham and Marseille looked at the player before Christmas but have taken it no further.
Akor Adams (S) Only moved from Norway to Montpelier this summer but already of interest to Napoli - probably as cover. Fulham see him as an option to Timo Werner and West Ham may offer a wildcard solution. Not one for a January move.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward that Eintracht Frankfurt have identified as a potential replacement for summer departure Randal Kolo Muani after failing with Ngankam, but they may look first to Rafiu Durosinmi. This season has been dire and he is nowhere close to the first team, and quite rightly. Atalanta, Lens and Everton interest has likely gone. West Ham in looking for a Scamacca replacement had made an offer in the summer and I expect West Ham to sound out his "representative", and I use the word in the loosest of meanings, and depending what they are told, perhaps approach PSG in January. Wolves have asked his representative if he would be open to a move but have yet, as I understand, taken the opportunity to approach PSG. Wolfsburg have spoken directly with PSG about the player. Wildcard could be Crystal Palace but they likely have preferred options and he is asking for significant wages - so a loan to buy will likely be discussed. Could be a huge mistake by any club looking to him with form gone completely.
Borja Mayoral (S) Attracting attention from London with Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham declaring an interest.Giovanni Simeone (F) Napoli will listen to offers for a fringe player whose goals have dried up. West Ham have a long-term interest but he would have to be matched with a Centre Forward due to his size.}

2.) 12 Jan 2024 15:16:01
Thx for all your input, Ed 0002.

It’s too early for the wringing of hands everyone.

We will have an exciting starting XI for the Villa game, with at least two, possibly three new players who haven’t signed yet.

1.) 17 Jul 2024 17:27:10
For me I think am so used to how SULLIVAN likes to conduct his transfer business I am a little cynical and always doubt his ambition because he is always looking for the cheaper deal, not what's best for the club

Our pre-season game on Monday will be live on WHUFC website as well as YouTube.

Hope Duran has a good "Reflex" and he is "hungry like a wolf" in an "ordinary world" lmfao

2.) 12 Jul 2024 20:06:05
Best we don’t touch him Osh too many red cards because he’s a wild boy ?

3.) 13 Jul 2024 07:03:31
There suggestions he has an attitude problem like Toney.

4.) 13 Jul 2024 07:59:23
I think Duran is going for a holiday after copa America in "Rio" lol ? ? religious fella likes to "save a prayer" lol ? ? ?

5.) 13 Jul 2024 08:37:18
Er, lads? Is there Something I Should Know about Duran?

6.) 13 Jul 2024 12:42:17

Mmpr, keep up the good work lol

8.) 14 Jul 2024 08:49:19
Mmpr, think you ask Simon Le Bon??⚒⚒⚒⚒

12 Jul 2024 15:33:56
There is plenty of time left in this window. Steidten and Lopetegui are seriously experienced and both are very good at what they do. It is hard to be patient when there are so many rumours flying around, but I for one, am sure that I will be excited by our starting XI against Villa.

Mmpr

13 Jun 2024 13:46:33
WHUFC confirm Guilherme.

Many have said he’s one for the future, but Steidten’s comments on the West Ham website refer to “ready to make on impact in the first team” and “immediate potential.”

Remember, Loppy is not like Moyse. He will play very young players if he thinks they are good enough. The fact that he was keen to get Guilherme on board says plenty.

Mmpr

1.) 13 Jun 2024 20:16:03
We wouldn’t spend £25m of our budget to put him in the youth squad, ?

10 Jun 2024 10:05:27
After leaving Wolves because the board back pedalled on guarantees about his transfer budget, Lopetegui will have made absolutely sure he knew what funds were available for his WH project. He is meticulous in his preparation so he must have been happy that he had enough to restructure our squad the way he wants. It won’t all happen this year, but with Steidten also unleashed, if they are both still with us in three years time, we’ll have one hell of a squad.

We need to take a breath and think medium term.

It won’t all happen this window, but it’ll be fun watching the process.

Mmpr

1.) 10 Jun 2024 10:44:34
Agreed, apart from maybe one big signing, there won’t be sufficient funds, to cover all the positions, unless it’s done carefully, which is exactly how it’s shaping up and, to get us into a competitive side won’t be easy, we must go with Tim and Loppy, we also don’t seem to be interested in free agents at present, with names popping up daily like Memphis Depay ( big wages ) and Iheanacho , and interest has been dropped on El Nesyri as well, who I thought was a shoe in, it’s very entertaining, to say the least, we must all see how things roll out

2.) 10 Jun 2024 13:07:36
So, we can expect another Marquee Signing similar to Kalvin Phillips - more like a loiterer within the Hammers' tent.

3.) 11 Jun 2024 08:27:07
Phillips was a Moyse signing. There will not be any more of those. Lopetegui has a reputation for bringing on younger players with potential and that fits neatly with how Steidten works. We also have to be aware of the home grown rules, which is, no doubt why Cresswell got an extension and could mean that we hang on to Downes. Whilst the Jack Clarke thing seems to have gone quiet, don’t be surprised if it resurfaces.

Sounds like why we employed Steidten. Tbh I’d rather get Mazraoui than AWB, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Expressing an interest in multiple strikers makes a lot of sense. It keeps your options open, informs the potential selling clubs that they are not on to a sure thing at an inflated price and hides your most wanted in a group.

Having said all that - Calvert-Lewin? Lord no!

Earthy looks made for the PL. He seems to have time on the ball and his movement is excellent.

Foderingham is a cheap 3rd keeper who fills a homegrown slot. Which makes sense.

Guilherme was expensive for an unproven player, but we should trust in Steidten the pearl diver. He might make an immediate impact if given the opportunity, or he might be “one for the future.”

Kilman is a very good addition to our squad, but did use up a large chunk of our budget. Again, he ticks the homegrown box.

I’ve read so much dross about what else is happening, that I’ve almost run out of the pieces of salt I Egypt in before any transfer window.

Steidten and Lopetegui know what they’re doing and the latter wouldn’t have signed up without being confident that he would be backed.

I’ve said it before - we will have an exciting XI for our first match of the season.
