The Soule noise hasn’t gone away. I wonder if we’re looking at him as a Paqueta replacement. He has bags of skill and a brilliant eye for a defence splitting pass.

1.) 15 Jun 2024 06:58:05
Yeah it seems we are PREPARING a bid?

2.) 15 Jun 2024 09:03:37
Maybe 1 in 10 of the “reports” about our transfer activity are really worth reading. I’ve just read that Fofana is available…that would be nice.

3.) 16 Jun 2024 09:29:54
Hmmm fofana, alvarez midfield very nice

4.) 16 Jun 2024 11:38:42
Fofana and Alvarez as a midfield two would be awesome, Fofana would be my number one signing this summer.

{Ed002's Note - No chance I am afraid.}

16 May 2024 17:58:50
Reports are that WH get an extra £1m each year for the next five years if Arsenal qualify for the Champions League as part of the Rice deal.

Whilst that’s already happened this year (so that’s another £1m in the bank), what about a scenario where Arsenal needed us to lose on the last day to ensure that they qualified for the CL?

The PL, or FA, or whoever has the clout, should stop these sort of contract clauses, which have the potential to encourage match fixing.

1.) 16 May 2024 21:28:46
Yeah, but put it this way, that £1m pays Danny Ings wages for 8 weeks.

#worthit lol.

2.) 17 May 2024 13:45:09
Mmpr, in the context of money values that would sure be a pittance especially when we’ll get smashed anyway, unless Merson or Harry did the deal??⚒️⚒️⚒️

3.) 20 May 2024 09:48:09
True, but if the powers that be are chasing players for gambling, then they should not condone contract clauses that enable a club to make a financial gain by losing a match.

Just sayin’.

03 Apr 2024 18:11:01
Eds, is it likely to be true that any new contract offered to Moyse will remove his veto from buying players? If so, I can’t imagine him signing it. He couldn’t cope without the power and would hate that Steidten has more influence.

{Ed002's Note - For me, it is understood that his struggles with David Moyes are very much based on how Moyes utilises the players he has rather than over specific transfers. I would expect West Ham to move Moyes on before letting Steidten depart.}

1.) 03 Apr 2024 22:57:20
Thx for your reply. I bloody well hope that your view proves to be true.

12 Jan 2024 10:26:26
Gimenez rumours surfacing.

Great finisher, good pace and physical presence, threat in the air and, most importantly is in the right place at the right time.

Yes, please.

{Ed002's Note - Santiago Gimenez (S) Having another good season at Feyenoord and attracting interest of Chelsea, Lille, Spurs, Real Madrid, Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has become the first choice Harry Kane replacement for Spurs after they lost out on their preferred option in the summer but not first choice for Chelsea or Real Madrid - although don't discount either. Spurs have an advantage that Feyenoord are interested in a Spurs player, Barcelona may offer a wildcard option following a discussion between Deco and someone they are trying to recruit. Others, such as Marseille, Crystal Palace and West Ham can be discounted. Lille and Eintracht Frankfurt would only be viable if they make significant sales and others drop out. Cost could be pretty high - they will look for perhaps €55M - ending interest of most of these clubs. Don't totally discount Napoli.}

1.) 12 Jan 2024 11:36:30
Thx for the update. Ah, well.

{Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely I am afraid.

A few potential options to consider:
Armando Broja (S) Torino, Besiktas, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Milan, West Ham and Napoli remain keen. Brighton may offer another option to keep him in the Premier League. Cheslea do not wish to loan the player and will look to discussions before the summer but have discussed a part exchange with Benfica. A January move is unlikely.
Vangelis Pavlidis (S) AZ will not want to sell but are aware Fulham and Eintracht Frankfurt have been scouting the player regularly. West Ham and Marseille looked at the player before Christmas but have taken it no further.
Akor Adams (S) Only moved from Norway to Montpelier this summer but already of interest to Napoli - probably as cover. Fulham see him as an option to Timo Werner and West Ham may offer a wildcard solution. Not one for a January move.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward that Eintracht Frankfurt have identified as a potential replacement for summer departure Randal Kolo Muani after failing with Ngankam, but they may look first to Rafiu Durosinmi. This season has been dire and he is nowhere close to the first team, and quite rightly. Atalanta, Lens and Everton interest has likely gone. West Ham in looking for a Scamacca replacement had made an offer in the summer and I expect West Ham to sound out his "representative", and I use the word in the loosest of meanings, and depending what they are told, perhaps approach PSG in January. Wolves have asked his representative if he would be open to a move but have yet, as I understand, taken the opportunity to approach PSG. Wolfsburg have spoken directly with PSG about the player. Wildcard could be Crystal Palace but they likely have preferred options and he is asking for significant wages - so a loan to buy will likely be discussed. Could be a huge mistake by any club looking to him with form gone completely.
Borja Mayoral (S) Attracting attention from London with Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham declaring an interest.Giovanni Simeone (F) Napoli will listen to offers for a fringe player whose goals have dried up. West Ham have a long-term interest but he would have to be matched with a Centre Forward due to his size.}

2.) 12 Jan 2024 15:16:01
Thx for all your input, Ed 0002.

3.) 12 Jan 2024 15:17:09
Oops! Gave you one too many zeros there, Ed! Sorry.

04 Jan 2024 08:25:53
Kehrer deal done with Monaco. Loan with obligation to buy.

1.) 04 Jan 2024 19:12:30
Ings + cash for Kilman would be a reasonable deal to for Ogbonna cover

2.) 05 Jan 2024 08:11:45
Not posted for a while, but thought I'd throw something out there.

Wolves were close to signing Cresswell in the Summer, only for it to fail as we didn't have sufficient cover at left back.

I'd be tempted to offer Cresswell AND Ings for Kilman.

Kilman is a left sided central defender and has played left back in his career. Given that Emerson is CLEARLY our number one left back at the moment, we only need left back cover.

So to let Cresswell and Ings go in exchange, would get two higher earners off the books, two older players off the books, and would give us a 26 year old centre back that can also play left back.

You could argue that he isn't naturally good enough at left back, but you'd of said the same about Dan Burn before he was shifted out their to cover as well.

3.) 05 Jan 2024 10:00:51
And let’s not forget Benrahma who is high on O’Neil’s high regard list. The Wolves manager had admitted FFP rules dictate they must sell before buying. Ings, Cresswell, and even Benrahma could be offered in exchange to tempt Wolves.

4.) 05 Jan 2024 16:03:09
We won't get KILMAN for INGS+CRESSWELL as we would have to pay about £10-15 mill on top of those 2 for KILMAN who I rate highly but I think TAH could be WHUFC bound due to STEIDTEN and apparently DD is a fan.⚒⚒⚒

5.) 17 Jan 2024 18:38:08
i would let Ings go for free just get him off the books. Moyes i read likes INGS but he is too slow for the premiership and I've never seen hin have a decent game for WH
Cresswell has been good for WH but needs to find another club and i wish him weLL

6.) 23 Jan 2024 18:43:50
I thought INGS in the no10 role suited he's been crying out to either play with help up top or just behind the front man DEVON JOHN and I think he was our most influential offensive player against SHEFFIELD UTD by a mile I've been INGS biggest critic but you don't turn into a bad player at his age the pace normally starts to decrease as you get older, but he's never really had blistering pace but an eye for a goal he's always had, if he got his goal and a run in the team not up top on his own then you would see the real INGS, just the difference is his hair suddenly growing? no all jokes aside he desperately needs a goal.⚒⚒⚒

WHUFC confirm Guilherme.

Many have said he’s one for the future, but Steidten’s comments on the West Ham website refer to “ready to make on impact in the first team” and “immediate potential.”

Remember, Loppy is not like Moyse. He will play very young players if he thinks they are good enough. The fact that he was keen to get Guilherme on board says plenty.

1.) 13 Jun 2024 20:16:03
We wouldn’t spend £25m of our budget to put him in the youth squad, ?

10 Jun 2024 10:05:27
After leaving Wolves because the board back pedalled on guarantees about his transfer budget, Lopetegui will have made absolutely sure he knew what funds were available for his WH project. He is meticulous in his preparation so he must have been happy that he had enough to restructure our squad the way he wants. It won’t all happen this year, but with Steidten also unleashed, if they are both still with us in three years time, we’ll have one hell of a squad.

We need to take a breath and think medium term.

It won’t all happen this window, but it’ll be fun watching the process.

1.) 10 Jun 2024 10:44:34
Agreed, apart from maybe one big signing, there won’t be sufficient funds, to cover all the positions, unless it’s done carefully, which is exactly how it’s shaping up and, to get us into a competitive side won’t be easy, we must go with Tim and Loppy, we also don’t seem to be interested in free agents at present, with names popping up daily like Memphis Depay ( big wages ) and Iheanacho , and interest has been dropped on El Nesyri as well, who I thought was a shoe in, it’s very entertaining, to say the least, we must all see how things roll out

2.) 10 Jun 2024 13:07:36
So, we can expect another Marquee Signing similar to Kalvin Phillips - more like a loiterer within the Hammers' tent.

3.) 11 Jun 2024 08:27:07
Phillips was a Moyse signing. There will not be any more of those. Lopetegui has a reputation for bringing on younger players with potential and that fits neatly with how Steidten works. We also have to be aware of the home grown rules, which is, no doubt why Cresswell got an extension and could mean that we hang on to Downes. Whilst the Jack Clarke thing seems to have gone quiet, don’t be surprised if it resurfaces.

04 Jun 2024 14:12:24
The continental move of having a Head Coach who coaches and someone different in charge of transfers, is absolutely the right way forward. Of course, Lopetegui will have his thoughts about who he would like to see come to the club and share them with Steidten. They are not working completely independently and I can see it being an excellent change for the better for our club.

27 May 2024 08:08:52
Soton will want to buy Flynn Downs now. I have read they have a purchase option.

1.) 27 May 2024 09:06:52
And now I’ve read they haven’t.

2.) 27 May 2024 12:13:08
Apparently, no option or obligation to buy in his loan agreement. It’s now up Steidten/JLo and the player.

3.) 27 May 2024 15:31:06
I know someone who is friendly with someone connected with Downes at Southampton, evidently he wants to stay at Southampton.

4.) 27 May 2024 15:54:41
Brooking 10, why wouldn’t he want to stay with Saints, he worked with the Manager at Swansea as well, so he was well aware of his character and capabilities as was Downes of the Manager!

5.) 27 May 2024 16:17:26
He has said so himself. I think he joined WH with stars in his eyes as a childhood supporter of the club - dream come to true etc, but Moyse put paid to that by not playing him.

I don’t think he is in Loppy’s revamp plans, so Soton buying him might well be best for all concerned.

6.) 27 May 2024 19:54:17
On reflection, he is home grown, so WH might wait to see what happens this window before making a decision on his future.

24 May 2024 14:08:43
Here’s a game for you all.

How many of our current squad will be in the starting XI for our first PL game next season?

Name them.

1.) 24 May 2024 15:47:13
First XI next season, using the a 4-2-3-1 formation that Lopetegui favours, and assuming no injuries.

This ia assuming Paqueta is banned

2.) 24 May 2024 16:54:24
Good choices, I have a feeling JWP will be on the bench, I will go with the other 7,

3.) 24 May 2024 17:47:28
Thanks for your detailed reply. I’ve a funny feeling that we could start 5 newbies if Steidten has his 20/20 recruiting glasses on.

4.) 24 May 2024 18:34:12
Apparently Bruno is on his way and they are very keen on Max Kilman. Also they want Acuna but so do Villa. We are also interested in that fenerbahce defender so that's an entirely new back 4. We know they are trying hard for Gassova, en nesyri, guirrassy, banza and boniface up front. Marcus edwards and lookman are also of interest

5.) 24 May 2024 20:55:12
Now there is no Pacquetta money there will be fewer purchases.

6.) 25 May 2024 11:40:21
Or they'll sell Bowen using Paq as an excuse.

7.) 25 May 2024 12:29:13
There's plenty of money to spend. Even Sullivan has admitted it . Plus The club has been planning on this pacqueta scenario .

8.) 25 May 2024 12:34:15
I agree with Joyful. The days of Soucek and Ward-Prowse being cert starters are over - and about time. I think they'll both struggle to get into a starting XI. Under Lopetegui, running around like headless chickens, taking free kicks and corners, and popping up to score the odd goal will not be enough.

9.) 25 May 2024 21:05:04

10.) 26 May 2024 09:31:13
6 new starters for you then, Billy. Interesting times ahead.

11.) 26 May 2024 11:29:32
Honestly, I think pretty much the whole defence needs a broom pushing through it with the exception of Emerson and maybe keeping Coufal as a squad player. The midfield needs looking at since JWP and Soucek offer very little to our starting XI.

I can see an argument to keep them in the squad, but starting the pair of them is a non starter for me in all honesty.

12.) 26 May 2024 15:16:45
Soucek was always a Moyse type, physical player: Fellaini 2.0

Reading media transfer speculation gives you the full range from nonsense to maybe.

There’s certainly been buckets of in, out, in, out, shake it all about concerning En Nesyri.

We are all mad keen to see who we end up with as our new CF/target man, but there have been so many names thrown about (as usual) that it all becomes bemusing.

Bottom line? Trust in Steidten/Lopetegui to have an effective central striker in place by the time the new season kicks off.

I can’t see Steidten/Loppy being interested in Sterling. It seems the wingers we’ve been targeting/ linked with are all young, high quality players with plenty of time to get even better and all would be appreciating assets.

It must be at least a three year project. Steidten will work miracles this window with whatever money becomes available to him. Lopetegui will get the best out of them.

The better the team becomes, the more attractive it will be for higher profile players. I really hope we have Steidten and Lopetegui working together for the foreseeable future.

Medium term patience, I think. If Loppy and Steidten are still with us in three years time, we will have an excellent squad.
