I have been sat here for the last two months reading all the posts. What I cannot get my head around is that we get 62000 plus each home game so where is all the money going?
Other clubs with smaller crowds seem to be able to buy all and sundry in the transfer window. We cannot buy players who are going to warm the treatment table all year false economy we need to buy young hungry players wanting to improve.
1.) 22 Jul 2025 22:52:08
And we don’t even have a stadium and all the security that comes with that to pay for. So yeah where is all the money going?
2.) 23 Jul 2025 06:38:51
I believe we have a board that milks the club and, unlike other similar owners, it does not give money to the club, but it loans money to the club at an interest rate which only benefits the board. In other words, the club is a cash register for the board.
3.) 23 Jul 2025 14:52:14
I believe the financial clout of STHs is overestimated. Say 60000 capacity at a generous 80% sold at an average (pure guess for easy math) of £750 is £36M annually— barely a player these days.
Now corporate hospitality and ad-hoc ticket sales obviously increase this along with the store revenue and tv income. But I imagine wages are the largest expense eg paying Danny Ings et al for nothing.
Not saying the board and shareholders may not put themselves first but given the increase in wages and player purchase costs the proportion that ticket sales generate probably have been markedly reduced.

Please tell me we are not looking at signing Timo Werner he is not good enough for the premier league failed at both clubs he has played for so far. Hopefully more poor journalism.
1.) 09 May 2025 09:52:12
Werner being offered all over, Leipzig don’t want him back for last year of his contract, WH are in need of many players, taking Timo Werner would be an act of desperation, hope we havnt reached Rock bottom yet, taking him will tell you we have

Yesterday was the worst performance I have ever seen by a West Ham team and I have seen many bad games over the years.
I don’t care who is the manager at present they would all struggle to get a tune out of this lot. Whoever was involved with recruitment last summer should hang their heads in shame.
Yesterday as normal our back four had the most touches during the game enough said.
We didn’t press, create chances and some of the substitutions were mind boggling.
The hardest thing in the summer is moving some of these players on, anyone on loan should be sent back to their parent club not good enough at this level.
PS let’s cut out the snipping at each other thought we all supported the same team!
1.) 20 Apr 2025 10:34:18
Totally agree with final sentence, it’s impossible for everybody to agree on all comments, but we are all supporters, we may come from different areas, different walks of life, and have different aspirations, but we are bound together by the club we support, WH are a sleeping giant, it is estimated, that in the Uk alone we have 200, 000 fans, that is as many if not more than any other London club, so we will come again, maybe, not now, but fortune, will not always be hiding, keep cool, we will come again,
2.) 20 Apr 2025 12:00:04
Corby and Joyful, your last 2 posts are by far the most sensible things anybody has said on here for a long time ….well said ????
3.) 20 Apr 2025 12:34:49
BRAVO you guys. Let's stop the panic mode
06 Oct 2024 09:40:37
Having been at the game yesterday we need to have a good look at getting the Ipswich left back David in January. He looked a good solid player
{Ed002's Note - MOTD Fever strikes.}
1.) 08 Oct 2024 18:53:59
WH were in talks with Ipswich last June, when Cresswell, was let go as a free, problem being, there just was insufficient funds, to buy every position needed, so choices had to be made Leif Davis transfer possibility was cut short, and Cresswell was given another year at his original wage to save a transfer fee for the Lb position, it will be a different story, when Cresswell leaves next June, and it would not come as a suprise, if WH return for this player
17 Aug 2024 19:28:47
Well he picked the wrong starting 11. Too much of last season in that display. Now for the new blood. But best team won.
1.) 17 Aug 2024 22:52:16
The first half up to the equaliser wasn’t great. Areola should have done better on their first goal, he should have dealt with it before the header. After the penalty we were much much better. Kudus was amazing, Summerville refreshing and Kilman looked solid. Mavrapanos also looked much more assured. I agree that moving forward Coufal and Antonio will be bench warmers as neither 100% suit the new style of higher and more intense press. Todibo looked good. Early days and can’t be judged on 1 game but we definitely need another forward as Fulkrug may need time to settle. All in all although the result was disappointing it was much more entertaining and I think we’ll have a good season
2.) 18 Aug 2024 06:45:46
I must admit I was disappointed when I saw the starting line-up. However, JLop must have had his reasons for those selections. As said, it’s early days, but it’s obvious Antonio is finished, Soucek is a headless chicken with no passing ability, Coufal is at best a back up player, and JWP contributes nothing. I still have faith that JLop will come good, but we still need a decent second striker and a creative midfielder for depth in the squad. Yesterday, both Paqueta and Bowen had ‘off days’.
3.) 18 Aug 2024 16:12:25
By all accounts, the Duran deal is still there to be had. If so, we should get it done. Sullivan’s habit of reverting to his used car salesman persona has cost him and the club the opportunity to get an obviously talented young player. If there is the slightest chance that we can still get him, then IMO we should. Apparently, some are saying Ings is the problem. I say to the hierarchy, ‘please get shot of Ings and pull out every stop to get Duran. There’s an obvious reason why he was our top target.’ Ings, Soucek, Antonio, JWP - we should be pushing them towards the exit - if we haven’t already.
4.) 19 Aug 2024 02:08:44
JWP played well when he came on and Ings was our best forward of the 3 who played. We can’t get rid of too many. Zouma is the one we need to lose.
5.) 19 Aug 2024 03:14:48
JWP contributed absolutely nothing as usual, Ings is a wages black hole, Soucek is a headless chicken who can’t pass a ball, and Antonio is obviously past it. Zouma is already halfway through the door. Surely you’re not suggesting we should keep these and not go for players of Duran’s ability?
6.) 19 Aug 2024 11:41:51
Unfortunately it doesn't really matter whether we want to keep them or not we have been trying to shift players all summer but due to ridiculous contracts no one wants them
7.) 19 Aug 2024 20:00:37
Then that’s called negotiation. Any contract terms can be negotiated.
8.) 20 Aug 2024 11:23:29
Well yeah the contracts are a big problem but the real crux of the problem is the players we're trying to offload, let's face it, ain't actually very good.

Who is looking after the team on Monday night? Can’t do any worse than the last two managers.
1.) 27 Sep 2025 15:59:56
Hopefully Robson the youth coach and hopefully he will give a couple of the youngsters a run out as he knows them well. Really difficult game and will be interesting to see how he or whoever does.
20 Sep 2025 07:11:56
Here comes Rafa!
15 Aug 2025 10:10:52
I think we are all thinking with blinkers on. Sullivan is never going to sell up he will leave it to his family so I can only see West Ham dealing trading in this way for a good few years to come. Unfortunately! On average 59000 home fans every home game, rent for the stadium is minimal, TV rights going through the roof and still we keep on hearing we have no money to improve the squad. If I was at work and produced these results I would have been sent down the road long ago. Like all of us the hammers are in our blood and we are the only people that matter but are getting a raw deal lately. COYI
1.) 15 Aug 2025 10:50:50
Can’t agree with you Corby mate-on this in it’s entirety
Although, you quote the facts correctly, WH were up to a couple of years back, a well run financially adept club, unfortunately it’s being turned into a cash machine for certain parties, this doesn’t correlate well with football, on the field
Common sense tells, that WH a on paper should be a profitable club, yes there’s been poor trading, that’s one thing,
But money being sucked out of the club for no apparent reasons is another thing entirely
Playing with fire this season is how I would put it, sometimes you get burnt

Irongeez getting a bit personal with all this moanlegs nonsense.
I don’t know either of you and welcome any news on here. I have my own opinion on some of the rumours on here but whoever post they do so in the best interest of us hammer supporters.
Welcome back joyful. Like all we can see the problem in the team but transfers for West Ham seem more difficult that any other team seem to have. The whole senior midfield needs changing and if that means youngsters so be it. If your good enough you are old enough.
1.) 12 Aug 2025 15:09:46
I wouldn’t say that constitutes getting personal, I’ve never met the bloke.
However, for someone so critical of everything West Ham do - and I mean everything. I don’t consider it a hardship to put forward some suggestions. He considers himself the authority on all things West Ham on this website. He also gives it to Brooking and many others on here, so only fair he gets called out. I still don’t understand why of all the players Moanlegs suggests we sell, or are not good enough, the only name I can see put forward is an untested 18 year old. Sorry, doesn’t cut the mustard for me.
I don’t mind criticism, but it needs to be constructive. Moaning without solution is the easiest thing in the world to do. Let’s hear those names Moanlegs, attempt number 6 - might be at double figures soon…
2.) 12 Aug 2025 16:02:59
Corby, it’s best to ignore his posts like I do. They only consist of some personal immature vendetta designed to bait and belittle anything I say. Water off a duck’s back.
3.) 12 Aug 2025 19:18:26
If that’s how you feel Tinlegs I feel for you, simply asking you to provide a pathway for West Ham to improve. I cannot fathom why you are so reluctant to give suggestions, you are always very forward with telling us what is going, in your view, wrong.
4.) 13 Aug 2025 12:56:11
While Tinlegs can appear pessimistic, we haven't had to much to cheer about since Prague. And there was a lot of moaning that season from some sections. We need to be realistic and stop pining for talent Sullivan will never buy. Shift the overpaid underachievers stop signing player with no sell on and inflated opinions of their worth, play the kids, the Irvings, Souceks, Bowens who want to play care about the shirt. And maybe play a system that suits the players we have at our disposal rather than forcing round pegs in square holes.
5.) 13 Aug 2025 15:03:46
WH said goodbye to 8 players in one fell swoop, had anticipated sales happened following that WH would have been 12 players short, it’s very difficult to replace 8 players anyway, what with WH trying to resurrect a football team for flumpence, Potter, in my own opinion has been hung out to dry, BUT if he can make WH into a top six side, I will be the FIRST to come on here, and issue an apology, I just don’t see it, he’s putting on a brave show, but I think the pressure will find him out, that’s my take
6.) 13 Aug 2025 16:36:29
Basically I agree with most of what AOII and Joyful have said. On Soucek, one can’t fault his effort for the club, but he just does not have the midfield talent we require. I honestly believe Potter is way in over his head and I don’t see him developing a team we enjoy watching and one that will come good. You’ll be behind me in the queue, Joyful, if I’m wrong, and I hope I am, but somehow ……
31 Jul 2025 00:28:43
Watching the first half.
Fotheringham very poor never a no. 2 keeper
Dino a worry
Casey looked nervous
JWP a yard behind the play
Irving to slow
Marshall put himself about but given no service
The rest doing ok but we have given the ball away so many times. Against a good team we would get punished even more.
1.) 31 Jul 2025 01:35:29
I think the signs are not too bad. Fulkrug looks sharp, Todibo definitely improved as has Aguerd . Guillermes showed good signs and some of the youngsters really promising. I’d say 2 keepers, Cooper and Suzuki plus 2 midfielders Ondeyeki and Elliott would be sufficient and an additional young forward nice, although Marshall looked promising. Pretty positive all in all
2.) 31 Jul 2025 06:24:22
Agreed Dabber. Aguerd and Tobido could form quite a partnership. Full backs will come good. Lots of youth and energy in midfield. We still need a decent keeper that's for sure but signs are encouraging
3.) 31 Jul 2025 09:03:10
To be fair Mac Kilman also looked much better last night so the defence of AWB/Kwp, Todibo, Kilman, Aguerd, Mo/Orford doesn’t look too bad, an additional CB, Soulet or Harwood-Bellis would be nice but there are other positions that need fixing before that. We need some athleticism in midfield that’s for sure as Potter obviously likes JWP, Ondeyika or Elliott in there with Potts would massively improve it. Signs were that the shackles were off Pacqueta so I hold my hands up and say RedRobbo you are probably right about at least another season to improve us and his value. He owes us that. Bowen didn’t have a good game, he looked at bit off it but then again it always takes him 2-3 games to get his sharpness back so no concerns there. Fulkrug and Guillermes looked like 2 new signings as did Marshall. I’d rather be in our position than Everton who really do look like there in for a tough season, no scoring power and defence looks decidedly weaker . Moyes is in for a tough year
4.) 31 Jul 2025 09:16:39
Mavropanos had a good game, gave the ball away once but other than that solid.
12 May 2025 07:56:20
Joyful you can only play what is put in front of you. Enjoy the win and performance. I totally agree Cresswell should be given a one year contract. Away fans were brilliant yesterday.
15 Jun 2019 14:04:19
Yes but only to make up the numbers never going to win it
Would be a great signing for us fingers cross that London and our salary can persuade him.
09 Feb 2019 14:56:15
Syd can’t disagree with you that Billy played like us supporters wanted to see. Over the years it is difficult to say who was the best. Sir trev for me was excellent, Jonny sissons was a personal favourite growing up. But so glad that BB is getting this honour. I think all us hammers will have a personal favourite but all will agree long over due this accolade for Bonzo.
28 Jan 2019 08:15:00
What did we need to listen too last night IRONMIKE?
26 Jan 2019 12:25:23
I was thinking exactly the same.
23 Aug 2025 18:43:41
Heat we were poor all last season and finished 14th in the league. What we haven’t done yet is strengthen our weak areas on the pitch, do we really think sending out nearly the same squad this time around is going to improve our performances? We are lacking in goals midfield and defence as we can all see. Todibo a poor signing to name one for me never prem quality. We are in for another long hard season as things stand.COYI
23 Aug 2025 17:19:08
Chris B05 I have done much the same and not renewed my membership this season as before I leave the house it has cost me £200 for myself and my daughter. The last game I attended was the Southampton game last season and we were shocking. Trouble is I know I will give in and be back down soon.COYI
19 Aug 2025 13:28:41
Joyfull not sure either team was better than us last night. Everton didn’t even have a shot at goal and Leeds lacked any quality. If and a big if we can get some legs in midfield we will not go down as there will be 3 worse teams than us. I predict Brentford, Leeds and Burnley will go down with Sunderland fourth bottom, interesting to see what happens next may. Keep your post coming mate. COYI
18 Aug 2025 11:57:42
I asked the more or less the same question a few days ago Whitby
24 Jul 2025 14:17:31
No thanks not strong enough for the premiership
