Have you got any news on Slimani Ed002?
{Ed002's Note - West Ham will be making a conscious scouting push in Portugal for the rest of the season and have taken on a very experienced local scout. I can confirm yet again confirm that Sporting Lisbon are open to selling Islam Slimani at the right price and the prior interest of West Ham and Crystal Palace has indeed been revived.
All previous interest from Fiorentina, Napoli, Fenerbahce, Leicester, Aston Villa, Spurs, Norwich and Bordeaux appears to have gone for now and a deal can be done if either club has the stomach for it.}
1.) 23 Dec 2015 11:08:28
In response, I am sure you are aware that WH have been in for slimani on three separate occasions, the last time. WH ended up being used as awedge to get slimani anew contract at sporting, the previous one after successful and contracted discussions the club changed their mind. And back to the first attempt, the player himself changed his mind at the last moment, so I think you can use the term, enough is enough, Slimani has always been my pick for west ham, BUT I think even the patient Mr Gold, may have had enough, of this saga! IRONMIKE.
{Ed002's Note - I will tell Emerson is is wasting his time then scouting players and Slimani is not wanted.}
2.) 23 Dec 2015 12:12:15
No time being wasted scouting in Portugal, seems to be the favoured place for scouting for loads of teams, particularly WH and everton, it's just that I have doubts that WH want to go down that road with slimani again, The player himself needs no scouting or recommendations, I would take him anytime, but don't think SB looks as favourably on slimani as he does others, we have to get somebody, I would be happy with slimani, bas dost, remy, but no doubt zaza and tore are in SB mind. IRONMIKE.
{Ed002's Note - You are again listing random players the club has no interest in. All I can say is that clearly West Ham have just wasted a lot of money on taking Emerson on if that is the attitude. And it is clearly a waste of my time explaining anything o the WHU page again, so I will try to avoid it.}
3.) 23 Dec 2015 21:13:41
is it possible to write directly to the ed002?
which is not for public consumption.
{Ed033's Note - you can use the contact form at the bottom of this page
4.) 24 Dec 2015 10:53:19
I wrote in, I do think Ed002 comment directed at Ironmike is unfair, as we're all stating opinions, gossips, whatevers, and there's no right/wrong answer for a million reasons, its the way the argument is proposed and argued is as important as the information supplied.
Ironmike always presents with vigour, sometimes on the nail, sometimes not, that's life, but I would respect his opinion more than an ed002 who now believes its not worth his time to present his argument anymore. In that case, as he is an Ed, I would say his rant has bought this Board reputation into doubt.
Merry Christmas and enjoy the wine and mince pie.
{Ed002's Note - It is very clear that the site is far more interested in lists of several hundred random players that the club are not interested in rather than me explaining about what is happening with the likes of the transfers of Payet and those the club are actually talking to agents and other clubs. Some good information came from the new scout that WHU has taken on for Portugal and trying to share any of that quickly gets the main spokesman explaining that the owner may well be done with the saga of Slimani - so there is no point in me sharing more, and probably no point in Emerson looking at the player again. I can only share with you what I understand to be correct but that is clearly not as exciting as lists of 20 random players being mentioned every few hows. As such, I will make sure the posts get through but I will not waste my time providing any detailed information any longer.}
5.) 24 Dec 2015 11:57:44
Hi ed002, thanks for the clarification, its appreciated.
Of course we are *really* interested in the goings on of likes of Payet. Sadly, for that golden nugget we must go through lots of rumours, whatevers, that's just the way it goes. Even at the last minute with a transfer something goes belly up, that's life.
I like seeing what everyone writes on here. You must keep posting what you come across, but if someone don't agree with it, well, that's no reason to withdraw that information you provide in good faith from the rest of us. That’s pointless. Just as if someone has an alternative view, who's right, who knows. We have to have all sides of the argument, else it belittles the point of coming here in the 1st place.
6.) 25 Dec 2015 10:20:00
Well said Brooking, I come on here because some of the posts are informative and better than MSM crap.
10 Dec 2015 10:06:56
Who replaces Reid at the weekend?
1.) 10 Dec 2015 10:57:03
That really depends on the set up ed does ab wish to keep Tomkins as rb then it will be Collins.
West Ham announced today they moving from there chadwell Heath training ground to rush green this will done by Monday .
This move was planned for the the end of season but has been brought forward.

Soucek starts in place of paqueta? Odd decision
2.) 04 Dec 2025 18:49:47
Earthy is the obvious replacement, but Nuno has bottled it again.
3.) 04 Dec 2025 21:47:48
Earthy ahead of Soucek, how ridiculous!
4.) 05 Dec 2025 00:08:22
As ridiculous as putting Soucek in midfield where he’s about as useful as gloves for a budgie.
5.) 05 Dec 2025 04:27:50
Earthy v Man Utd over a seasoned international captain? Not one person who knows about football would do that.
Play the youngsters in FA Cup and bring them on. You were always obsessively going on about Scarles, that poor lad got ripped apart in 3 or 4 games last year, and to date, he hasn’t recovered.
Earthy v Man Utd… amazing.
6.) 05 Dec 2025 06:45:57
Let’s just agree to disagree. You and I live in different worlds—-thank God.
7.) 05 Dec 2025 08:05:03
Thought we battled really hard last night?whole team run and chased, got well deserved draw because we defended magnificently against a ManU side superior in squad strength!
Tin has got an anti obsession about Soucek just just as I have a pro obsession with him?As Brooking said, seasoned International, massive experience no comparison with youngsters, Soucek in my team every time with our present squad! Pleased to see Wilson get more time on, had some good touches up front! Well done lads for the hard work everyone??⚒⚒⚒⚒
8.) 05 Dec 2025 08:56:23
Much much better! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again we play much better without Paqueta! The guy isn’t a team player and isn’t as good as he and some people think he is. Nuno needs to keep him on the bench now until he can be sold.
9.) 05 Dec 2025 10:42:20
Chelmsford, I don’t have an ‘anti obsession’ with Soucek. If you read my past posts, I’ve always admired his commitment and thought he’s a really nice bloke. He just can’t play in midfield. He has no creative ability and can’t pass a ball. Essential for that position. I lost count the number of times different people on this forum said that with Soucek and JWP in midfield we were 2 men short and our midfield was non-existent. (Brooking10 would still be playing them.) As Hammer-D will confirm, I even suggested trying Soucek as a striker. We did, and even that didn’t work! Soucek is a useless midfielder, nice bloke or not. Starting with him is a waste of a position, as was seen against Man Utd. He did his usual headless chicken routine and contributed FA before being hooked off. Soucek scores the odd goal by throwing himself at the ball. That’s why he suffers so many cuts and bruises. A lovely bloke, but a Premiershiip midfielder? Naahh.
10.) 05 Dec 2025 11:09:08
Completly agree
11.) 05 Dec 2025 11:33:25
I would totally concur with that assessment of Souchek, Tin.
Lovely fella and popular, tries his heart out, loves the club, and scores many a crucial goal. But even after a decent performance like last night I feel he was an impediment. Numerous times, especially towards the end of the first half, the ball was kicked out of defence to our right only for Thomas to be unable to keep the ball or find Bowen or Wilson with a pass. Only for the ball to end up back near our penalty area. Wilson is great at holding the ball up. I would like to see TS to come on as a sub when a goal is needed. I totally understand why people don’t want Paqueta as he did himself no favours last Sunday. But he is a better player. Maybe try someone else in that position
12.) 05 Dec 2025 14:44:44
Oh, and wile I think of it, Brooking, as an illustration of why you don’t know what you’re talking about — Scarles isn’t ruined; he’s injured, and just back in training. He’s the best left fullback we have and will soon reclaim his position. Diouf can’t defend for toffee and he’s beginning to look poor as a left wingback. He’ll be off to the Africa cup soon and I think he might struggle to get back in the side. All young players need the experience of difficult games. If we’d listened to your gems, Potts would still be bench warming and we’d still be watching JWP, so I don’t need any lectures from you, thank you.
13.) 05 Dec 2025 21:30:51
We all know his injured currently ?
14.) 06 Dec 2025 07:22:49
We also all know he’s not ruined.

sorry mate, I meant to hold your post for Ed666 to have a look at rather than post it without a reply. I have told him there is a problem and he will fix it as soon as he can.

That's ok, the more the merrier.
