Just to clarify. End of last post with Steidten, one of our targets is Dibling, the youngster. From Southampton, now he's good, very good, but there are many clubs that think so, and can easily outbid us, Do saints want to sell, unlikely till seasons end, what Advantage if any do WH have Only that he will get probably, the most minutes on field, than all of the other clubs, that's it, when 3/4 top clubs come calling what chance do we have? No harm having a go ok, but why have we got three scouts plus Steidten, to find that out? It's not making senses at present, and Sullivan, wants better value and better results from that group

Graham potter here. tonight again, that makes four visits, looks like at this time that he's going after the job, and getting ready to take the post soon as Loppy trips up, which sooner or later is inevitable i, scout here from psg, to watch two wolves players, not WH players, Potter has busied himself and watched every recorded game this season, and has familiarised himself with the ground and fans, so he's obvious favourite now, anyway let's see how it plays out tonight

Joyful

1.) 10 Dec 2024 07:20:20
He obviously fancies the role, that alone is positive.
Although we won last night, we were bang average. The defense is all over the place.
Wolves should have had a penalty, or possibly 2. Had it been the other way around our fans would have been going crackers.

2.) 10 Dec 2024 08:54:12
Great to hear the Potter news imo? O’neil must have been raging about the penalty decisions, especially the first which was as certain a penalty as you could ever see, I like fair play, that was not! But as the saying goes, it evens it self out over the season I suppose, but can cause trouble on and off the pitch?
I didn’t even see us as the better side, thought it was even, but the substitutions bemuse me, wtf does he replace Summerville for Ings who was a handful for the defenders all through the game, Paqueta is a waste of time and is a liability imo!
Tomas came good again with his usual goal, some other usual standouts as well, but a great 3 points?COYI and Antonio ⚒⚒⚒⚒

3.) 10 Dec 2024 12:41:29
Personally I don't think they should be pens but in the modern game I wouldn't be at all surprised to see those given, so we were definitely lucky.

4.) 10 Dec 2024 14:33:12
Iron.Al, yeah we all see the same things but opinions vastly different at times, but good for friendly debate. As soon as Emerson or whoever’s arm shoved him over especially when you know the opponents looking for it goes over, I instantly thought stupid challenge in the area, especially when you see the way ridiculous yellows are dished out for hardly touching a player?
I never saw many replays of it or maybe I might not have the same opinion, but at the time I thought it a stone bonker pen? ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

5.) 10 Dec 2024 14:35:33
So that’s 3 games we’ve won very luckily: Palace, Man U and Wolves. That’s 50% of our points. That stat alone should have Lopetegui on his way. We won’t fluke it for the rest of the season if he stays in charge.

6.) 11 Dec 2024 05:04:21
Well we were unlucky Leicester last week. Or doesn't it count when we're unlucky.

7.) 11 Dec 2024 12:37:58
I tend to agree with 7580. Whilst most of us think JLo is a bit of a disaster, I do agree his substitutions were bemusing. But I still feel we played the better football by some way and why should we apologise for when decisions go our way. Plenty will go against us in equal measure throughout a season. We totally outplayed Leicester last week and if Summerville disallowed goal had stood which I think it should have it quite possibly would be a different result. Also Kudus had 2 goals disallowed and the first of which was dreadful play on his part for not being able to stay on side. Fair enough we want rid of JLo but we need to stop trying desperately to find reasons to criticise unnecessarily IMHO.

8.) 12 Dec 2024 07:33:57
What you say is very reasonable and point taken. However, unfortunately Leicester were absolute crap and we don’t have to look very far to find reasons to criticise.

Quite a while back, as you know, WH left a bid on the table, for Yuri Alberto, for this January, not clear how much? But whatever it was, it has now apparently been bettered by two clubs, not sure who they are, but could be Notts Forest and Newcastle, wether WH will return on this not clear at present, things have changed a lot, but our need for forwards has if anything become more acute, impossible to state which way WH are going to go, in general as we seem to have become a little slow at present

Joyful

08 Dec 2024 11:22:52
Reality is now creeping in at WH, where Steidten has to continue with transfer business irregardless of the manager situation, Chelsea are being sounded out on three players Chuckwemaka, Mudryk, and one other, nothings ideal of course but we have a situation where Brentford are punching well beyond their weight, and Forest although backed by wealth are doing the same, WH are a much bigger club than these two, attendances, ground size, turnover, spending etc etc, WH by all perimeters should be positioned 6/8 in this league, WH have real potential, where is it all going wrong?

Joyful

1.) 08 Dec 2024 17:09:13
Agree with that.

I spent 35 years as an English teacher. If you don’t mind me doing what I used to:

It’s parameters, not perimeters. It’s either regardless, or irrespective, not irregardless (which isn’t a word) .

I’m not trying to be the grammar police, just trying to help.

2.) 08 Dec 2024 18:20:44

Been out all day, then discover news re Antonio, he says maybe a blow out, or maybe just gong too fast in poor conditions between Theydon Bois and the wakes arms roundabout, came off road Into tree, no other vehicle involved, this is what I heard, both legs damaged, one could have a fracture, couple of toes broken on one foot, one ankle injured, cuts lacerations etc, more will be revealed, we all wish him a speedy recovery, at this stage, we don't know about any recovery period. the club will probably make a statement tomorrow, it has been suggested by some, that Monday night might be cancelled, this is very unlikely, Wolves Would make serious complaint to the FA, as long as we have 11 fit players we would be ordered to play the game TURNING back to football, the onus is now-on Steidten to sign a forward asap, we must have a forward, first week January, with the hapless Ings as the only back up now to injury prone Fulkrug

Joyful

1.) 08 Dec 2024 17:13:31
We have been screaming for a pacy young forward for a very long time. There isn’t another club in the premier league, which has had such a terrible recruitment record for CFs.

January will be a very interesting window.

2.) 08 Dec 2024 18:32:31
You have.to look at Steidten last window, in the knowledge that Antonio was well past his best, and Ings just there to collect his money, an injury prone older forward is brought in, Loppy not to bkame, nor Sullivan there was opportunities for several younger forwards, and they where swerved, In my own view, and I’ve said it 20 times, it was criminal to start the season in that situation, now it has to be put right, Antonio hope he recovers well, looks like he’s played his last game for WH, we need two forwards in reality not one, go to it Steidten,

3.) 08 Dec 2024 23:56:31
Sadly, at his age, these injuries could be career ending. At minimum, I think we’ve seen the last of Antonio in a West Ham shirt.

4.) 09 Dec 2024 11:35:41
Yes, it’s not just his recovery which will be difficult enough, , but getting back to full fitness, after a long layoff, is another story again, his contract expires June 30 th, far too early to say what and Ifs, WH may or may not do, but I think it most unlikely they will extend his contract , but may possibly do something else, perhaps a testamonial I don’t know, he’s been a great servant to WH, far from the most skilled players we have had, but he’s totally unique, in his style, and because of that forged a bond with the fans, some years ago, I became friends with a certain spurs full back, now long retired, one night he said to me, whilst discussing football re Antonio. Well, it’s like tackling a moving wall! He’s become an Icon to WH, whatever happens we all wish him well

Let's be totally honest we have only played well, in just one game Newcastle away, 3 games .last night, plus Man U and Palace, we were poor and still won, I don't even know how? Sullivan is now making himself look stupid, Loppy should have gone weeks ago, he was unsuited to WH from the off, poor man now waiting for the axe to fall which it will, what is the point of prolonged agony .Arsenal now offering us Trossard in P/EX for Kudus, and or defender Kiwior, in reality there are other players we can sell rather than Kudus to raise funds, so WH should refuse, until the summer, when his buy option becomes live again, and auto release leaves us with no option STEIDTEN. the pearl diver, is ATM chasing names well known to other clubs, where we have little chance of getting these players in, I had previously believed the major purpose of his job was to find pearls at cheap prices, both for immediate team! And for future, this is presently not happening, or he's doing a fantastic job in silence, we are all going to find out about his mettle soon He is in the Question box with Sullivan. At present, and could find himself under the spotlight, unless he starts hitting the right tunes come January

Joyful

1.) 10 Dec 2024 17:31:34
I don’t know if his performances have suffered because of his fractious relationship with Loppy but in my eyes Alvarez has gone from hero to zero. Last season I thought he was outstanding this season nearly every time he gets the ball he either slows everything down, passes poorly and when he goes in for a tackle you can you know there is a chance of a yellow.
3 of our best players Alvarez, Kudus and Paq-man I wouldn’t want them to leave at any cost. Now it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if they all went as we may as well cash in and try to follow what Brighton do in the transfer market. Or even what Chelsea have done it could be argued.

2.) 10 Dec 2024 18:22:42
Yup agreed, Sullivan doesn’t want Steidten following the crowd, when looking for new players, that’s the current pitch, Brighton buy players for small money, sell them on for megabucks, WH buy players for megabucks, sell them on ( most of the time ) for small money, the direct opposite, Steidten and his crew have been given the job of changing this, yes we have had a few good results , with players but not enough so far, that’s why the pressure is going to be on Steidten, no matter who the next manager is

3.) 11 Dec 2024 12:36:55
The board needs to consider this. A majority of this squad played for Moyes, and accepted the formation of play, yet Loppy has come in and 'supposedly' improved the squad, yet they are playing worse, and there are disruptions in the changing room. Therefore, the manager is at fault.
Many of our 'star' players are not turning it on: Bowen, Pacquetta, Kudus. Again, the board needs to look at this.

09 Dec 2024 23:13:02
TBH we where the better of two poor sides, doesn't say much, another side playing us would have gobbled up the chances wolves missed, and in all honesty one of their penalty calls, was. A definite spot kick, whilst the Emerson one-was a 50/50, just outside the box?not a definite, so we won 3 points always take that, but boy it's hard going, why didn't Fulkrug come on? And Areola. Well he's Another one, to have had words with Loppy, when Soucek is joint top scorer you have problems and we have them in abundance

Joyful

1.) 10 Dec 2024 12:49:15
On a positive Soler looks good very tidy, keeps it simple but can also make the hard passes.

Todibo coming on was a good sign that the falling out my not have as been as bad as its been made out or at least they have settled their differences

2.) 10 Dec 2024 18:49:09
I’m not a Todibo fan. He loses his marker to easily. I’m hoping Juve still want. Forest got Mikalenko, that was DM’s top target, we should’ve been all over that for £15m. We look paceless in the middle. Think our team is disjointed

3.) 11 Dec 2024 15:48:53
Moyes wanted Zouma, if you remember it was between Milenkovic and Zouma that window we were going back and fourth between the 2 trying to drive the price down, but moyes pushed for zouma.

Still quite early on todibo only 23 which is relatively young seen some really good bits of play and good bits of defending from him but other times maybe has lost his marked but same could be said with mavro and kilman the latter to a lesser extend. It also doesn't help how high bissaka has been and how open our midfield is. Definitely need some Pace in there was a shame Moyes rejected fofana a couple windows ago.

4.) 11 Dec 2024 21:48:11
Those within the club, I’m told, believe Todibo is an absolute gem and has the ability to get to the very top.

06 Dec 2024 13:52:33
As you already know Terzic didn't want the job, but Allegri does, but only pre season 2025, wether or not Sullivan will jumble along as it is after next Monday, or try a short term solution or appoint someone else on a permanent basis, nobody knows at this time, however Allegri is from another planet, leaving aside his terms bonuses and other incentives, he was plain fact apparently, stating WH are in a poor state especially defensively, and should he take the post, there would be only a short holiday for our players, drills, on a daily basis would be standard, and much different stuff was said about mdf and forwards, his player purchase ideas are somewhat different to Steidtens, but he was impressive, thing is if WH want him they are going to have to make do with Loppy or Caretakers, and get a contract in front of Allegri, quickly starting (officially) July 1st, but he would start immediately at seasons end, and converse with Steidten before that time, It maybe a bridge too far for WH, Sullivan is looking for easy answers unfortunately there aren't any

Joyful

1.) 06 Dec 2024 15:23:22
Get Noble to do it for the rest of this season. I guarantee he’ll have the dressing room.

05 Dec 2024 13:18:12
Quite right Dabber, I'm no mystic for sure, perhaps it's instinct the way we are set up, I played and coached at semi pro level . Loppy is a senior manager ? I couldn't get to grips with his direction at all, At premier level you have in general quality professional players. Who in a very short time can comprehend tactical changes, movement, etc etc, , it was clear to me, that whatever plan instructions he had in mind? where not being carried out, and I'm sat just a couple of rows behind him, and he was getting mystifying looks from players, after 4 games, something is very wrong if there's no cohesion, so I stuck to my opinion, as did tin legs, I knew it would come to this eventually, it does at all levels, I am completely unbiased, I don't care if the manager is brown pink or blue with green spots, wether he's a Zulu or a Martian, we need a manager, who understands what WH fans want, and can carry that out, starting with the squad we have at present, and we have some good players, and improve it as time goes on

Joyful

1.) 05 Dec 2024 14:24:20
Yep, as I’ve said all along, the best man for the job. Never mind if he’s British, a Martian, or green with pink spots, as long as he sorts us out.

05 Dec 2024 11:00:59
Just to talk about Potter, he is indeed on a monthly wage from Chelsea, that expires June 30 th next year, and if he takes another post, that benefit expires, his handsome payment from now till next June equals £5. 7 m, almost 200 k a week! So is he going to walk away from that? Probably, Yes if his pay is equalled By another club, and no if it isn't that would be my guess who would not see it that way?Cant blame the man for that, maybe in lieu of that situation, it maybe the reason He has not taken a post, if indeed he has been offered one elsewhere, anyway whatever, cannot see him getting that kind of payment at WH

Joyful

1.) 05 Dec 2024 12:44:38
???????? one can only pray!

2.) 05 Dec 2024 12:44:50
Interestingly, I feel he would take a sizeable drop to get back in football if the right club came in. Sooner or later he will want to manage again, and the likely hood in him receiving £200k pw is non-existent, therefore, I feel a £60-70k pw would ensnare him.

3.) 05 Dec 2024 12:59:28
Joyful, it was/is blatantly obvious why he hasn’t taken a position elsewhere, Tax reasons! ⚒⚒⚒⚒

Stevie, I wrote a post re him last week, Allegri and agent, had very good meeting with WH, two sides of the coin here, his quality and skill, are recorded, he is a great organiser, which is the basic necessitiy of what WH need, The conversations started with him not taking responsibility. until seasons end, he needs to integrate team to his methods, cutting short all players holidays to two weeks! so he can get going, immediately, before officially starting on July 1st, Do WH fans want Juventus mark 2.? Flip side of the coin, would mean caretaker…… Noble , perhaps, for whole season.! whilst Allegri gets agreed contract to start, (as above ) Two things to note, Allegri is expensive , which Sullivan hates, but as a private citizen he has and would be free of course to attend training by invitation, and start explaining his methods to Noble SO what does Sullivan decide to do?

Tell you what’s wrong mmpr, in no particular order, no proper defensive coach, Kilman doing the organising, whilst he can’t organise himself, Starting the season without two proper strikers, which I have repeated a dozen times, that’s criminal, Having Paqueta playing whilst his head is in Brazil, starting the season with three centre backs not four, which is laughable, having a manager, who is unable To recognise and sort out these obvious problems, SO THE combination of this equals, we can’t defend, we can’t score goals, and we have no plan and no direction, other than that we are just fine.
