WH receive answer from Brugge that 20 m euros is asking price for De Cuyper, WH also discover that Milan and Arsenal have now enquired on this player, WH are also looking at reviving interest in Hayden Hackney of Middlesbrough, good calls, these two, both good young players, for me personally, this is the way forward look at youngsters available, no more 32 year olds, it's always tough when big money clubs go after the same players, but at least this shows new direction

WH are amongst a few clubs which have been looking at a Brazil Ian at Corinthians Breeno Bidom. mdf, in the background WH have not overlooked, Delap at Ipswich, but Chelsea are on this one, Ipswich will be looking for a big profit on him, he would be a great fit, and a natural first choice at WH

Two opposing examples . Boniface has surfaced again, let's be clear, he's going to cost nothing less than £40m, for those, that where at Leverkusen 2 seasons back, there could never be a better example of a centre forward, that would perfect for WH , think young Antonio, but two good feet, and strong in the air, Sullivans stooges must be out with collection boxes again! Now the REVERSE system Promise David bought by Union st Galloise in Belgium, from a junior club in Eastern Europe for small change, 250k by way of the stats system now being employed at WH, is young striker same mould as Boniface value now about £20m, this is a classic example of what can be achieved , using new methods, I would be happy with either,

Tbh Never suspected we would be interested in Harwood Bellis, again, WH were interested in him some time back, before aquiring Mavrapanos, and also he plays Right Back apparently quite well so endorsing different positions idea, so suprise in one way, perhaps not in another, whatever way it goes we must start next season with 4 CBS NOT 3

Joyful

1.) 23 Feb 2025 15:41:44
Go get him. Nice and young England U21 at £15m that can play CB AND RB and he has to be better than mavropanos

Interesting! Last week I posted WH needed to look at the Club Brugge v Atalanta game, they did in fact have somebody there, ! watching Ordonez, Talib and De Cuyper, well done WH, it will be good if something comes of it, WH are looking at people that can play different positions, ( very good plan ) especially on the left side, at Cb and Lb and maybe ldm, and compiling a list, one of these is Kiwior, who can't get much game time at Arsenal, maybe WH are thinking of letting Emerson go? Don't know if he's going to join the list of the departees,

1.) 23 Feb 2025 13:51:33
In fairness Joyful I think Scarles should be the first choice right back as he has shown he is more than good enough. So anyone we get for that position should be prepared to play second fiddle.

2.) 23 Feb 2025 14:34:06
Isn't Scarles a LB with AWB our RB? Just saying lol ? ?

3.) 23 Feb 2025 14:43:36
Sorry yeah I don’t know my left from my right ?

{Ed001's Note - you sound like me dad. I remember once we were driving some back from watching the F1 and I was doing the directions on my phone as he didn't know the way. I said to him, "you need to move over to the right hand lane". He moved to the left. I said, "right, you need to go right." He moved over another lane to the left. I said to him, "do you not know your left from right?" His reply? "Yes, but I didn't know if you did!"}

Amazing Antonio, whilst he has said he will be 100% ready for last two games of season, which from what I've been told, is amazing, following his really poor condition post accident, he has been telling. A couple of People that he wants to make the bench earlier than that, the spurs game on May 3 rd is new target for the bench, you have to take your hat off to this guy, he's touching 35 now, must admire his will to get back, he's convinced he's can play at least two more years No present idea how this is going down with Potter, but whilst he isn't going to be a better player than he was, pre accident, He would be great 45/60 minute player, and if he does perform well on his return, than WH could do a lot worse than give him that one years option, plus a further years option, he could prove to be more than useful

1.) 26 Feb 2025 22:25:50
Mickey has been brilliant for us. And seasons end I would love to see him sent off from West Ham done proper.

2.) 27 Feb 2025 22:40:32
Another 12 month contract for next season. Stick him on the bench and give him the last 25mins in any game. He’ll still give defenders all sorts of problems.

3.) 27 Feb 2025 22:42:18
Mickey 17. He keeps resurrecting himself.

4.) 28 Feb 2025 08:09:54
Agree all about Ant as I call him, I love the man always rated him?Frightens the life with his fearless attitude out of defenders especially, we know he has doubters on this site but he’s given more than some others we’ve had to use up front since he’s been out!
Fear he won’t be the same on his possible return but with a positive attitude and realising how much he has missed the game, he may still be very useful for us for a while???⚒⚒⚒⚒

5.) 28 Feb 2025 15:12:34
I love Mickey for all he's done for the club. But he shouldn't get another contract. It's short termism like this that hurts the club .

6.) 01 Mar 2025 14:48:16
Hammer7580, Look at all the rubbish we’ve spent money on that’s done f—- all for the club costing untold £millions and still at the club and you talk about not looking after Ant who’s been a great servant to the club, adaptable in a number of positions, top scorer and you talk about short termism hurting the club? I’m no Accountant but your comment is baffling figure wise to me! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

Hi Ed 101, I need to ask question. It has been brought to my attention, that my Rumours posts, are being reproduced on another site altogether, which I had no prior knowledge of, I do not wish to be copy posted on other West Ham sites, I am very happy here. I'd like to put a stop to this. Please advise me of your thoughts?

Joyful

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea how to stop that. People seem to think plagiarism is an acceptable thing to do these days. If I knew a way to put a stop to people just copying things, it would have been a great help to us over the years.}

1.) 24 Feb 2025 17:37:58
I would think your only course of action is to complain to the administrator (s) of the site involved.

2.) 24 Feb 2025 21:05:38
Can do that, of course, but nobody asked me, or consulted this site, that’s what. I think is wrong. If they ask it’s a different matter, then you can say ok that’s fine, or not

{Ed001's Note - sadly it happens all the time online and these fake AI programs, like ChatGPT and stuff, make it worse as they just copy stuff and regurgitate it pretending to be creating new content. These days though, everyone thinks it is ok to copy and pass off stuff as their own as that is pretty much all tok tik is. I mean, how is it ok to just mouth the words of someone else's comedy act and put that out as a video? Comedians are being robbed constantly by randoms online who are making money off it.

I really wish there was a way to do something about it Joyful, if nothing else it is bad manners to not at least ask if it is ok.}

22 Feb 2025 17:40:33
Scarles best player for me today, yes, should have scored another really, thought the ref had lost his watch, we played 10.and half minutes over just ridiculous, , BUT that should do wonders for confidence, Arsenal moaning about having no strikers, we havnt had any all season, deserved win , it was nice to see Potter absolutely beaming

Joyful

1.) 22 Feb 2025 19:30:39
No idea where they go the 8 minutes from, the red card decision was made quite quickly. Anyways who cares 3 points.

Also Todibo looked solid today and brought the ball out well when he could.

Kilman a lot more comfortable in a 3, and our slow midfield looks a lot less exposed.

Commentators kept mentioning arsenal injuries every 5 minutes and fail to mention, fullkrug, Antonio, paqueta, summerville all injured.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 22:04:45
Now Arsenal have learnt as we have, how difficult it is without strikers!

22 Feb 2025 16:57:18
Massive win Big boost for confidence

Joyful

1.) 22 Feb 2025 17:07:48
RIGHT, so where are these so called fans that want Potter out?

Wherever u are, I don't hear you whining today? Call yourselves football fans, then how about we get behind the team and the NEW MANAGER and give him a damn chance. Look at the crap he has at his disposal and he managed to get a win at Arsenal.

Moyes would've rolled over and it would have been 5, 6 or 7 nil. Same for LOP.

This guy went there to do something and not just roll over and give in and that's what we want and about time to.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 17:15:31
Played well considering, Olly scarles is a player, for me keeps Emerson out of this team all day long, mavripanos Is so dodgy it’s scary, Alvarez same at the minute, kudos played a lot better but should have played the ball to Ferguson earlier on that break he could even have got it back, ward prowse- great desicion to bring him back Although he can’t out spring a keeper lol, souchek played well today, Bowen looked blown, right call to sun him off, cresswell for me should retire at seasons end. But a great win for us considering. Glad for potter, hopefully get another win against them foxes. Up yours arsenal and arteta, used to like arsenal but really dislike arteta.

3.) 22 Feb 2025 17:39:29
JWP has made a big difference to our team. Thought Kudus and AWB had good games

4.) 22 Feb 2025 17:46:35
Didn’t Moyes win against Arsenal last year as well?

I totally get he wasn’t the right man moving forward, but the disrespect he gets for he actually achieved is wild.

The team had outgrown him and his football style was a hard watch, but his success in Europe were good days.

Everton aren’t exactly doing too shabby right now are they?

5.) 22 Feb 2025 18:51:51
How man times did we go to city, arsenal, Chelsea, united etc and roll over before kick off under moyes?

6.) 22 Feb 2025 19:48:20
Moyes was a superb manager for us. Fans need to remember the state we were in, but that is the past. We now need to stop talking about Loppy, Moyes etc and focusing on the present. Potter.

7.) 22 Feb 2025 22:05:34
Correct call!

19 Feb 2025 09:21:43
WH can do themselves a favour and watch a rerun of the game I watched last night between Club Brugge and Atalanta, WH have been watching De Kettelare forsome time, frankly he was average, we need to, look at a few Brugge players, Talib at 19 was outstanding, they have 2 or 3 , that could change our set up, if any of you have the time, watch some of their passing and attacking play, refreshing

Joyful

1.) 20 Feb 2025 16:32:57
Yeah I saw on one of the other sites that they see de kettelare as the long term replacement for Paqueta. As you say, The Brugge players would be better bets, but after that performance and possibly what’s to come his (Talbib’s) price will have increased significantly

2.) 20 Feb 2025 17:33:35
Hammer D, De kettelare is ok, but for me, not for the money, involved, what was proven the other night, is we can get agreements for players, done that don’t cost the earth, when I submitted my idea of a squad, it was NEVER, that WH would take any notice of my thoughts, it was to show, that a good grade of squad can be obtained, for a reasonable outlay. BUT. Not for nothing money, and not for mad expensive money either, There is a real danger in Sullivans thinking, of spending either Zero, or only funds from players sold, we have a poor unbalanced squad now, 4 loans, plus 4 kids! plus keeping most of the present set up, get your sat nav ready for a trip to Sheffield Wed, the following season, lovely old stadium!

3.) 20 Feb 2025 18:22:03
Very true.
I don’t want to keep batting on about it but Suli is at the root of the majority of our issues for the last 8 years. It’s obviously not all his fault but he should delegate jobs properly. I don’t suppose the chairman of a large retail company would find the need to work behind the counter, like Sulivan plays manager at West Ham.
Hopefully Potter or whoever is given the job of sourcing new players also tries to formulate a team rather than buying lots of individuals that are not suitable for a style of play. Think Moyes purchase of Haller and Scamacca to name but 2 who whilst good players were not suited to the way Moyes had us playing. Hopefully there will be more thought given to that big or small budget.

4.) 20 Feb 2025 19:16:57
WH are working now with the new system in play, it’s not very far advanced, like Jamestown Analytics, but should help draw comparisons, between like for like players, it’s no good pretending the axe doesn’t need to fall on many people, yes it does and that’s it, we have nothing to attract expensive players anyway, so in reality it could be a great time to look around very hard, there are plenty. of players. out there, that would fit in nicely, Sullivan is going to interfere a lot, for sure and II understand, he’s doing it already, but he’s in favour of the stat system, for the future, we are miles away at present time, from the window, so let’s see, too early to make judgements

5.) 21 Feb 2025 19:49:46
We have to target young hungry players that Potter can mould. Enough of this scatter gun. Find the players and go get em

WH are searching the bargain basement, looking for new Mitomas, Caicedos etc they can buy for small money, and sell for Gazillions, it takes time and patience, in the meantime, because so many changes are needed on paper, they are looking for cheaper options, ?

Mac, I think we are going to get a lot of this stuff, because it’s now being recognised , we need multiple positions, I’m expecting. Loads of agents coming in, trying to fix deals miles in front, Funnily enough, i'm not expecting Salthouse to be over involved, don’t think his players will be on the wanted list, but he’always makes himself available to work as an intermediary should it be needed,

Dabber spot on mate, you were watching the same game as me, Plus your nucleus is also on the money, unfortunately that is what Potter has to face up to, it’s a mammoth task, and all those who disagree, to be honest, I don’t know what their watching, I’ve watched Potts a couple of times, he’s coming on, but he’s a bit on the slow side, Earthy I’m not sure about, Orford, not quite ready for me, they can be introduced, but not first team 11., starters Vast Majority of the blame for this is at Sullivans door, he can find whatever scapegoats he chooses, but he’s going have to come up with the funds, he knows it, otherwise, , we will be relegated next season, if we get away with it now

Points needed? The way it’s looking at present, after next Thursday there’s just 11 games to play, if we can beat Leicester, and get to 33 points, it would mean, Leicester would have to win 6 more games than we do in last 11 games, as would Ipswich, although it remains mathematically possible of course, just can’t see it, so although it’s a very low tally, 33 points may be enough this season, unbelievably low amount but there it is

Couldn’t have a drink at 10 am not me! It was always going to be a difficult job for whomever took over as manager, , the squad is mismatched older and slow, but what counts, as we are getting near safety, is what happens, when Potter sits with Macauley and Sullivan , mid April, when transfer choices , start becoming paramount
