After leaving Wolves because the board back pedalled on guarantees about his transfer budget, Lopetegui will have made absolutely sure he knew what funds were available for his WH project. He is meticulous in his preparation so he must have been happy that he had enough to restructure our squad the way he wants. It won’t all happen this year, but with Steidten also unleashed, if they are both still with us in three years time, we’ll have one hell of a squad.
We need to take a breath and think medium term.
It won’t all happen this window, but it’ll be fun watching the process.

Agreed, apart from maybe one big signing, there won’t be sufficient funds, to cover all the positions, unless it’s done carefully, which is exactly how it’s shaping up and, to get us into a competitive side won’t be easy, we must go with Tim and Loppy, we also don’t seem to be interested in free agents at present, with names popping up daily like Memphis Depay ( big wages ) and Iheanacho , and interest has been dropped on El Nesyri as well, who I thought was a shoe in, it’s very entertaining, to say the least, we must all see how things roll out

So, we can expect another Marquee Signing similar to Kalvin Phillips - more like a loiterer within the Hammers' tent.

Phillips was a Moyse signing. There will not be any more of those. Lopetegui has a reputation for bringing on younger players with potential and that fits neatly with how Steidten works. We also have to be aware of the home grown rules, which is, no doubt why Cresswell got an extension and could mean that we hang on to Downes. Whilst the Jack Clarke thing seems to have gone quiet, don’t be surprised if it resurfaces.
