WHU inquiring about a replacement for MP?
What is that all about!

Nessy_Hammer

{Ed002's Note - Not to my knowledge; and I am pretty certain they are not.}

1.) 05 Apr 2019 09:46:10
Newspaper nonsense. Ignore it.

2.) 05 Apr 2019 10:12:55
Nessy, I see that as well, the Lyon boss apparently?

{Ed002's Note - Bruno Genesio will be leaving in the summer, but I am pretty sure there has been no approach from WHU.}

3.) 05 Apr 2019 21:52:06
Agree ed, sounds like waffle.

4.) 06 Apr 2019 02:45:33
It’s getting near the end of the season. More and more rubbish will appear on the internet and newspapers until and during the transfer window.

5.) 08 Apr 2019 10:40:08
Pelle has done quite well considering the players/ situations happened this season, why get rid of a decent manager?

16 Jul 2016 22:57:30
James Rodriguez!?!
Please make this happen.

Nessy_Hammer

1.) 16 Jul 2016 23:30:43
I can't see that happening.

2.) 16 Jul 2016 23:55:49
I genuinely don't see this happening, but I'd take James Rodriguez in a heart beat.

If even take a swap deal for Payet.

3.) 17 Jul 2016 09:27:36
i don't believe we are in for him for 1 minute! .

4.) 17 Jul 2016 09:29:50
Rodriguez would be amazing. I mention a player called borjan Baston of athletico Madrid it seems we are interested in a move for him might be a gamble but I reckon he would do well. I've got this feeling though that Hal robson Kanu will be our major signing, as no other player wants to come to us.

5.) 17 Jul 2016 09:43:53
I for one would be furious if we sign Kanu on big salary mind u on the back of one good goal vs Belgium and he wasn't great in the other games. and even he was quoted in a local Reading paper as the least influential Reading player! . mmmm.

6.) 17 Jul 2016 14:07:59
Rodriguez won't consider WH let's get that straight, it's nice to hear we would try for this calibar of player but that's just punching above our weight. I trust that Bilic can build upon last season and take us further, I don't believe we are a top 4 side or close but if we can keep the youngsters we have have in a few years we've a strong chance of becoming a force!
I've heard Oxford wants 40k a week? No problem son sign that 7 year deal.

7.) 17 Jul 2016 14:57:55
IF we was somehow in race for him :
Zidane wants to sell him but Perez forbid it. 99% sure, he is staying.

8.) 17 Jul 2016 22:35:54
Would anyone recon we should put a 25 million bid in for troy deeney because the way things are going he might be the only striker that would come to us.

9.) 18 Jul 2016 08:18:37
West Ham United are ready to make a move for Toulouse striker Wissam Ben Yedder after his proposed transfer to Sevilla fell through, according to Get Football News France.

The Hammers are desperately trying to sign a new forward that can score them 20+ goals in the Premier League next season but have found the going tough in the transfer market.

A host of big names have either moved elsewhere or spurned the London club over the last couple of months, with plenty of transfer rumours in the process.

Ben Yedder has impressed for boyhood club Toulouse over a number of seasons and is regarded highly in France.

The 25-year-old was reportedly on the way to Sevilla before new boss Jorge Sampaoli pulled the plug on the deal.

The decision could well be to West Ham’s gain, with the Hammers linked with a move for the attacker that netted 17 Ligue 1 goals last season.

West Ham in for Mata? Really?

Nessy_Hammer

1.) 05 Jun 2016 18:20:02
It certainly appears we have made an enquiry but valencia also interested. Otherwise all very quiet on transfer front.

2.) 05 Jun 2016 18:58:40
he won't leave to come to a club without CL football.

3.) 05 Jun 2016 19:34:27
Neither will the majority of targets pinpointed by WH, Today Umtitti has stated his target is to play for Barca, BARCA, have been given seven days to put up or withdraw, that's the only chance we have on this one, We are shooting at level one players ( credit to us for doing so ) BUT, many of them won't come without CL football. Vardy latest example, IGNORE, all this talk about WH being gazumped ;money wise, ; it's about CL football, WE have to find alternate quality targets, we will have faith, IRONMIKE.

4.) 05 Jun 2016 21:35:45
no they won't some depends on other circumstances aswell like we can offer more money or first team football . can't see mat having a problem with either of those though and as I also said one deal can't lead to a lad of other deals none of us thought about I wasn't trying to sound negative ut we are still early In the window and have to be relistic aswell.

5.) 06 Jun 2016 09:48:33
LOts of high profile targets that just want champions league football, and realistically you can't blame them. Am sure we must have a plan B. Does anyone know anything about this dutch striker from AZ ALKMAR we've been linked with and is there anymore on Feghouli. If we can't get high profile strikers we'll have to keep searching.

6.) 06 Jun 2016 09:58:25
Whilst I think this is just paper talk and highly unlikely to happen. If we did sign him I think that would be a SUPERB piece of business. With game time Mata has proven to be a quality player in the Premier League

7.) 06 Jun 2016 12:25:36
From and Englishman living in the Netherlands, I can tell you it's a real gamble taking someone from this league. To be honest most of standard apart from the top few teams is below Championship level. Granted a few can make it, but if you look at the Dutch prospects that have gone abroad in the past few years, hardly any have made it, rot in the reserves and go to play for lesser teams.
Even from watching Ajax for the past 14 years you can see how much standards have dropped. De Boer will fail in the Premiership if his teams play like Ajax do. I for one was so happy we failed with our pursuit of him and got SB.

IRONMIKE or EDDS
Can somone update on Lacazette please.
Also is there any truth in Ben yedder or Icardi? Am I the only one that doesn't want Bacca for that kind of cash?

Nessy_Hammer

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new with Lacazette in respect of West Ham - Lyon are difficult to deal with and WHU would need to go in to talk with Aulas (never a fun thing to do). I suspect that whatever happens next will be in the hands of PSG. I don't know what you mean by "Is there any truth in Ben Yedder or Icardi?". However, the situation with each is as follows:

Inter's Mauro Icardi has been subject to sustained interest from Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, with PSG and Arsenal continuing to watch the player. He was very much Chelsea's first choice striking addition for the summer of 2015 but he eventually signed a new deal with Inter - a contract that is in his favour unlike the one he had previously. It was very unlikley, regardless of a number of difficulties there were with the player, that they would look to sell in January unless they were to receive a very, very good offer, but they did have a replacement in mind in Embolo, in addition to Calleri who they were negotiating over. However, Inter did need to raise money for purchases and were actively looking at players with Piero Ausilio attending two games in London and holding discussions with Chelsea over another player, offloading Icardi in January would potentially have given them two or three of their desired targets. The asking price for Icardi was €40M and they were firm on that but they say that they received no offers at all in January - but they were discussing a possible deal with PSG which is likely now off the table. They will sell to raise funds and a summer move is possible, but not guaranteed as their preference is to sell others and hold on to Icardi. Another English side is interested but have yet to make that interest known to Inter or his agent. Icardi plans on staying in Italy.

Roma, Spurs, Leicester, Napoli and Lyon are looking to Toulouse’s Wissam Ben Yedder but, with other issues to address first, Marseille looking to him as a replacement for Michy Batshuayi is very much on the back burner. Interest from Everton has gone and other clubs who looked at him, such as West Ham and Spurs, have turned their attention elsewhere, at least for now. The player has not hidden his desire to join Spurs if the opportunity arises but is open to a move to elsewhere in England or Italy. A bid from Leicester would not be a shock.}

1.) 03 Jun 2016 12:31:37
Nessy. Thanks Ed. Great job, My own understanding of Ben Yedder, Is he would prefer to stay in France object marseille, which apparently hangs on Lacazette leaving OR spurs, Icardi, NOT coming to WH for collective reasons, Lacazette wants Champions football, as does Mich bat, the same reason, may also crop up with. Bacca and now we have a possible new problem on the Horizon, this being the POSSIBLE appointment of Koeman to Everton, Tney are waving 150K a week at him to take over, and 175m in transfer funds, so another rival may be rearing it's head, Apparently saints fans are going ballistic! IRONMIKE.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure how Lacazette influences the situation Mike but you are correct that the plan for Ben Yedder was to move to Marseille was as a replacement for Batshuayi - and that plan dates back to last summer. However, Marseille are in a little bit of an unclear situation right now and a move there is not on the table. I am not sure what potential wages and funds will be waved at Koeman should Southampton allow Everton to open negotiations with him, nor if they would look again at Bacca but I would not be so sure that the new Everton coach will necessarily be the main player in such decisions. If Koeman leaves for Everton he is turning his back on what would be a very attractive opportunity next summer - so he needs to think carefully before jumping.}

2.) 03 Jun 2016 14:26:16
Thanks lads, top marks as always.
It does seem to me like the targets we had set as far as striking options are not happening for one reason or another. And this leaves us struggling to get the caliber of striker DGS promised and we may have to overpay for so. Wine we wasn't originally looking at.
I honestly can't see where the marquee signing is coming from.

3.) 03 Jun 2016 14:40:36
And is there no have we can dive in with a massive Bat or Lac bid and gazump everyone.

{Ed002's Note - WHU have already made a significant offer for Lacazette.}

4.) 03 Jun 2016 14:26:16

when do we think we'll get the usual David Gold post saying about the transfer window "we tried"!

Nessy_Hammer

1.) 28 Jul 2021 11:06:46
Amazed he hasn’t posted it early.

{Ed001's Note - do you think he will blame the takeover attempt for messing with the window?}

2.) 28 Jul 2021 12:26:56
Wouldnt put it past them but can't see how they'll spin that
And it might not sound like it but i still think moyes will bring in a few players
Just hoped main positions would be sorted by the start of the season
Anyone know if we have bid for tammy or asked about a loan with obilgation or is it all papers.

3.) 28 Jul 2021 16:57:43
Absolutely any excuse. "Oh well, we were selling and then the other parties pulled out leaving us no time to get players" what a waste of time.

4.) 28 Jul 2021 17:02:01
As always they've had all summer. Not interested cause its always the same story and i'm honestly done.

5.) 29 Jul 2021 10:25:29
🤣😂You’d better divorce WH. The Window doesn’t close until 11.00pm 31 August!
If at all possible DM will make a couple signings, he’s a shrewd and clever canny Scotsman imo, no good, letting all others knows, if not it’s not the end of the club!
âš’âš’âš’âš’.

MIKE: Do you think we'll dip into the 'free agent' players market?

Lacina Traore, Yohan Cabaye, Yaya Toure and Giuseppe Rossi are available.

All could do a job until summer!

Nessy_Hammer

1.) 01 Feb 2019 12:30:24
Nessy I think a pay as you play contract for Yaya Toure is not a bad shout if it’s allowed and he’s fit . been a strange window Arnie off then back again, Ironmike off then back again! 😂.

2.) 01 Feb 2019 13:39:43
ITS a possibility I suppose. We have a reserve tank of money we are not skint, but as suggested we need to axe a few from the wage bill , we are overloaded with high earners doing bugger all. IRONMIKE.

Werner over Maxi in my opinion.
Should break the bank to try and get this lad!

Just heard Leander Dendoncker is going to Wolves. Shame we missed out on him, he's quality!
As far as the CDM position is concerned how about trying to nab Marco van Ginkel from Chelsea on loan? He's at PSV at the moment but scored 14 goals last season from midfield.!

Seems like after a really good start to the season we are preparing to write this one off and plan for next season already.

Has he got the pulling power to obtain one of these strikers though?
And will DGS insist on doing the negotiations as per usual?
If they do. We'll end up with Peter Crouch.

At this rate we're going to have a net spend circa £150M. This is not my West Ham!
