Rumours that Man U and Arsenal are “monitoring” Hacksawbandage.

Perhaps we ought to bring him back permanently in the summer.

1.) 04 Feb 2020 21:43:48
Just watching a bit of Oxford v Newcastle, first time I’ve seen Nathan Holland play, tell you what this kid has got some potential, got no fear and is a very good player. Wonder when we let him go too.

2.) 05 Feb 2020 07:22:46
Markro, as Whitby said Who are you talking about, Hacksawbandage? ⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 05 Feb 2020 09:10:31
My witty take on Haksabanovic.

4.) 05 Feb 2020 14:52:02
OK thanks Mark, hear the likeness saying it quickly👍⚒⚒⚒.

5.) 05 Feb 2020 18:28:09
Talented kid by all accounts. Oh, hang on a minute we let him go didn't we.

6.) 05 Feb 2020 21:44:07
I think he’s still ours, MAC. He’s out on loan, isn’t he?

7.) 06 Feb 2020 07:43:32
Then he will be on first team. next year when we are relegated.

28 Jan 2020 16:38:55
C&H reporting that “Soucek is a Hammer. ”.

1.) 28 Jan 2020 17:59:34
Seen the same - currently sorting his unveiling video and club photos before statement released tonight/ tomorrow morning.

2.) 28 Jan 2020 18:09:02
Why don't we play Xande Silva up front.

3.) 28 Jan 2020 18:39:42
I think Moyse will give Antonio free rein to buzz around Haller tomorrow. Our problem is service from the wings.

09 Jan 2020 21:31:02
Fellaini is a filthy player.

There isn’t a barge pole long enough.

1.) 10 Jan 2020 07:34:05
Get a smaller pole as he's cut his hair so about 5ft 8 should do markro. COYI.

2.) 10 Jan 2020 11:34:51
Giroud agrees deal to inter milan.

3.) 10 Jan 2020 11:35:32
Piatek on his way to spurs for £28m.

4.) 10 Jan 2020 11:45:43
Sorry chaps, not being contentious with you, but I see no problem in our position with Fellaini😂🤣 Some posters have the view got to be young, young, young, WHY? We need players that can play now, not 2 seasons time, I like a tough rugged defender / Midfielder that takes no prisoners, Fellaini’s knocking on but if he can do a solid job and is relatively injury free, why not? I’ll now wait for the flood of poster abuse to hit me, 😂🤣👍👍⚒⚒⚒.

5.) 10 Jan 2020 13:33:39
TBH Chelms I would not be too negative about an older CM player coming, but only if TWO conditions are met.
1. They are not overly expensive leaving us considerably less money to spend on a younger long-term asset. At the end of the day if they make the difference or make the risk of relegation smaller then long term it pays for itself.
2. They WILL actually make a difference.
At the moment, with just Nobes and Rice we have NO backup, and an injury to either would be catastrophic. Joe Allen for 18 months would not be terrible, neither would Fellaini, BUT ONLY AT THE RIGHT KNOCK DOWN PRICE. No more Sanchez types!
This is not my preference though, I would still prefer a Gedson Fernandez or Sander Berge, as i think they are good enough to get us to mid table, AND they represent players that are likely to go UP in value.

6.) 10 Jan 2020 14:06:44
Sorry Chelms, I’ve seen Fellaini do too many seriously unpleasant things on the pitch. Being tough is one thing (Bonzo for example) ; being violent and not caring about whether you seriously injure a fellow professional is well beyond what I want in any player representing my team.

7.) 10 Jan 2020 14:16:41
I think Fellani would be fine, experienced player with an edge, that grabs a few goals too, I totally agree with you chelms people seem to think players are good just because they are young.

8.) 10 Jan 2020 19:05:15
Fellers, been a while. Happy New Year all! Playing devils advocate on the Fellaini situation, and I do agree he has done some unpleasant things, he does provide security defending from set pieces which we are notoriously bad at and for a big man has surprisingly good feet.

I think he could play well in a Moyes system for us. In terms of Fernandes what worries me is the unknown quality and ability to play in the premier. Swansea pinned hope on another Portuguese starlet Renato Sanches and got relegated . sometimes better the devil you know.

9.) 11 Jan 2020 19:35:18
He's still on a £200k a week contract in China which won't be affected by the wage cap until it expires dec 2021. I suspect someone's just decided to fling out a load of click-bait. Fellani + Moyes = transfer. I reckon the whole story is just hogwash.

10.) 11 Jan 2020 20:50:04
If Myes want him and the price is right give Moyes the players he wants to keep us in the Premiership, let's stand behind him and give him a chance to save us from relegation.

11.) 12 Jan 2020 10:41:23
Will be going to the Everton game of Saturday for the first time this season, hope I’m not put off ever going again🤣I want to see that expensive Statue Haller do some running running and hassling as a proper striker should do, if not get shot of him, he was bought as goalscorer, his lack of movement and effort are not acceptable to me, cannot understand the posts “not getting the service” that’s b———- to me, make it happen! Watched the Sheffield Utd goal at least 15 times on replay to try make a decision in my own mind, think I was harsh on Martin although the pass out was at least a yard wide of Balbuena but the defender should be so aware when calling for the ball, reiterates that these passes in your own territory can change the game! Martin kept goal well apart from the miscued pass, hope it hasn’t damaged his confidence!

08 Jan 2020 09:35:48
Rumours circulating about Gabigol and Piatek.

Not that we’ll get either, but which is your preference?

1.) 08 Jan 2020 18:42:55
Piatek all day.

2.) 09 Jan 2020 06:02:36
I would go for Gabigol, he looked good playing against Liverpool a few weeks ago. He seems to know how to put a shift in which is what we need!
If he, Anderson and haller link up it could be a good top line. Let’s hope we get one over on Chelski and Fernandes comes to London Stadium!

05 Jan 2020 22:49:33
That ended up being a reasonable win as we got to grips with what we needed to do in the second half.

There were some positives, including 2 x Pablo goals!

Moyse - 2 games, two wins, six goals scored, none conceded. That’s simplistic, I know, but you can only play who’s in front of you and it’s a very decent start.

Fredericks was terrible tonight. His injury (unfortunate for him, of course) will add to the pressure to add a far better RB this window. Johnson was heir apparent, but is also injured.

Masuaku continues to frustrate. He simply cannot defend and his frilly surges forward rarely create chances.

So that’s both full back positions that need attention and we also need CM reinforcement. Berge would be my favourite - the lad can really play.

Finally, we can’t put all of our striker eggs in the Haller basket, otherwise we’re an injury away from a serious problem. Antonio can be good, but is far too inconsistent to be reserve CF.

There is Gabigol talk in the media and, I think he could do really well in the PL, playing either with (if Moyse goes two up front) or instead of Haller as the squad rotates.

In spite of the terrible last few months we had in 2019, I’m still optimistic about the rest of the season.

I wonder what funds the David’s will make available for both this window and the summer.

1.) 06 Jan 2020 11:15:02
Morning Mark just 1 point Johnson returned to the u23s in November unless he is injured again.

2.) 06 Jan 2020 11:57:05
I've seen that Chelsea are also interested in Gabigol - if that's the case, then he won't be signing for us!

I agree with the other points though Markro.

3.) 06 Jan 2020 12:54:42
Good points Markro, given Moyes's 3 at the back vs Gils we can assume he will adopt this in some/ most PL games as well. I agree with the full back assessment 100%, but i think this is not the time to fix it. I'd like to see Johnson play some more before the end of the season, and Fredricks' injury may now pave the way for his development. Zaba also looks better as a wing back now than as a Full back, as his lack of pace can be slightly covered by the third CB.

For me, its CM for immediate focus. Snodds does not look comfortable there, and Sanchez is also not up to it, leaving us just Nobes and Rice. Get a solid partner for Rice and imagine the freedom we could give the attacking players. We should go all out to loan Gedson Fernandez with an option, and then also replace Sanchez (with e. g. Sander Berge or Abdoulaye Toure) . We would need to free up a non-UK place in the squad to get Fernandez though, which is why Randolph is coming in. Just fixing CM blows the budget i reckon, and leaves nothing for a striker. My ideal realistic Jan based on players we are linked with.

In: Gedson Fernandez (loan with option), Sander Berge £15-£20m, Randolph £3m.
Out/ terminate (or just don't register in squad) : Roberto, Sanchez
The fact Randoph is close to coming tells me neither Diangana or Cullen are coming back to us in Jan. Up front we will have to make do with Haller, Ajeti, Antonio and Yarmo (for me Yarmo may do better up top with less defensive work to do) . Supported by Anderson, Lanzin, Fornals and Snodds. We should be ok IMO.

4.) 06 Jan 2020 21:49:36
Merce, I think you are right. Claret&Hugh are reporting that Fredericks is out for 6 weeks and that Johnson is training with the first team.

5.) 07 Jan 2020 08:29:17
Morning All,

Rice is class but I think now he needs to add more to his game, IMO he has more ability to what he is actually showing and although his comfortable on the ball I feel he is hesitant to push up and, he seems to give it sideways or back far to often, Moyes should encourage a more dominant role, I have seen glimpse of him start to take a more prominent role when pushing up but not enough, I appreciate its been hard for him to do nothing but defending to way we were playing but just want to see more improvement, hopefully DM will give him a little more freedom

I don't want him to be another Eric Dyer who frankly IMO has just gone backwards.

Unsurprisingly quiet on here.

1.) 20 Mar 2020 07:01:31
Hope all on here are well and staying safe.

2.) 20 Mar 2020 15:38:00
Hello all, assuming most posters on here are of a working age unlike myself😂I do hope you can all hopefully maintain your lifestyles as normal, plus of course your health! Both my sons in law are self employed but OK so far, just hope it continues? I cannot believe Japan seem to closing their eyes to the World at the moment and still talking about the Olympics going ahead, at least they will win all the gold medals🏅 🥇🤣 Can’t seem to get my head around Football at the moment without any decisions being made! ⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 21 Mar 2020 09:31:15
Unbelievable the Japanese wish I had their optimism about our football. Very strange what is going on why is no one questioning why this virus is so aggressive in Italy and to a lesser degree in Spain and Germany compared to us.

4.) 25 Mar 2020 01:40:35
I know Gerry we've got it worse than where it started in CHINA all because don't get me wrong i'm very patriotic but why are we the last country to react to anything now we ain't coping, they shouldn't have let anyone in the country when china reported their first case sounds harsh but i really believe it would have saved a few lives 1 is enough but see the tubes going into london packed in like sardines what cgance have you got my eldest daughter has just lost her job in a private nursery as they have had to shut and the gyy who owns it can't afford to pay wages with no babys coming to the nursery but hey ho people are out there dying very sad and hard times everybody stay safe. COYI.

06 Mar 2020 20:33:14
Hold your nerve, Moyse - stick with Antonio/ Haller/ Bowen.

1.) 06 Mar 2020 23:55:42
Appaently SOUCEK is going to be on the bench against the gooners we need him back but not to quick i'd rather give him another week for more winnable games although arsenal are not the formidable opponents anymore. COYI.

2.) 07 Mar 2020 07:41:49
Agreed Whorya👍We did well enough against albeit S’ton, but on their day are also a decent side! Would prefer not to see the mistake as bringing Fabianski back a little to early although we desperately needed him at his best! Maybe he will just give him a run out for the last 15 mins or so depending on how we’re doing? A draw would be decent for us today, but you never know and surely as Markro posted he must keep the same trio up front, know you’re not a fan but I want to see Snoddy play as well, I like his enthusiasm and work rate and can put in decent crosses for the trio up front! ⚒⚒⚒COYI.

3.) 07 Mar 2020 17:04:22
Very unlucky today. Better finishing and this would have been s romp. Onto the next game.

4.) 07 Mar 2020 17:36:59
Agree Mac but tell me how2 players offside in the 6 yard box are not affecting play.

5.) 07 Mar 2020 18:19:19
I don't know and I give up trying to make sense of refereeing decisions this season. Its worrying that the fate of teams and huge amounts of money can cone down to poor decisions made by officials and even var is left for human to decide what he interprets. It's wrong and going to be very costly.

6.) 08 Mar 2020 01:14:26
We seem to be on the wrong end of most VAR decesions but we should have got at least a point but if we continue to play at this level we will be fine at least the other results went okay. COYI.

7.) 08 Mar 2020 01:23:07
HALLER and ANTONIO missed several chances today especially HALLER but what a player BOWEN is going to be he's so direct and not afraid to shoot from anywhere get GRADY DIANGANA back and we will have a decent team with two or three new additions granted premier league status.

8.) 08 Mar 2020 07:14:25
OMG we should have had 4 today easily, we cannot blame a VAR decision for losing! Antonio could and should have been walking away with the match ball for his Hat Trick plus an assist, if his pass to Haller hadn’t been so appalling after terrorising the defenders with his pace before crossing the ball 2 yards behind Haller with an open goal gaping at him, what a missed opportunity! Another tale of “what if”
However I only saw MOTD highlights but I thought we outplayed Arsenal, but to lose with all those missed chances is appalling given our perilous position, a draw would have been some consolation? ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

9.) 08 Mar 2020 10:26:04
Add to the summer shopping list a striker who finishes.

10.) 08 Mar 2020 10:33:46
Having watched the whole game I think we can now say that we have the best starting line up. Maybe just a decision on whether Noble starts or Doucher starts.

I think that the introduction of Bowen and with Formals better at going forward than Anderson we look much more energetic and the ball is going forwarduch more.

For a player who had 23 goals and assists last season Haller needs to get park on his touch and his decision making. The chance where Anthonio passed to Haller when 2 on 2 is a classic example.

29 Feb 2020 21:34:35
Have to take my hat off to Moyse today.

He got it right.

I like the Bowen/ Haller/ Antonio combi up front - gives other defences something to think about.

1.) 01 Mar 2020 08:35:46
Love this combination who will cause lots of teams problems. Let's hope they stay fit and clear of injury.

29 Feb 2020 00:00:25
Three points tomorrow, if you please.

1.) 29 Feb 2020 14:36:26
I like the line up today, Antonio and haller have to make a nuisance of themselves and hopefully Bowen goes unnoticed to get the 3 points COYI.

10 Feb 2020 17:00:00
So Moyse has another two weeks to integrate Bowen and Soucek fully into 1st team training.

Add to that the return from injury of Anderson and Yarmolenko and we should have very decent depth moving into the nitty gritty part of the season.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out at Anfield.

It’s interesting how frustrated we all get.

If that goal had been ruled out by VAR and we’d won it 3:2, there would have been talk of green shoots of recovery.

It’s a funny old game! 😉.

Haller won 14 aerial duels. He is brilliant in the air - just look at how high he jumped to challenge the keeper before his goal and how many knock ons he played.

Nick, you are spot on about the support he needs, especially players running beyond him so he can glance those headers through.

Once I’d seen the you tube stuff, I was mad keen for Haller to come to us, but h simply must have the necessary support to show him at his devastating best.

Bowen was excellent and Antonio was Antonio (a handful for any defender in the country) .

I just have to wonder if Moyse will be brave enough to stick with this electric front three against the tougher teams. God, I hope so!

Bowen must get game time tomorrow. He is a seasoned professional in the far busier and more aggressive Championship. Let him off his leash for heaven’s sake - otherwise, what was the pint in buying him?!?!

I don’t expect to win either, Chelms, but Citeh have had a strange season and conceded more goals at home this season than for the last two seasons combined.

Stranger things have happened at sea!

I think it may be that if Moyse starts both Haller and Bowen, Haller will become more of a provider like he was for Jovic. Bowen is very direct and shoots from anywhere with either foot.

With his recent injury record, I can’t see Antonio playing a whole game - Moyse might use him as an impact sub.

Alternatively, start with Antonio/ Bowen up front and bring on Haller as an aerial threat and provider when Antonio tires.

If Yarmolenko and Anderson are available soon and Antonio stays free of injury, we do have pretty good attacking options now.

Haller is as good as the service he gets. The German League is competitive and he scored a shed load there. If we are never going to play with at least two up front, then we are never going to get the best out of him.
