Rumour is:

Ngakia is going to Watford.

1.) 31 Jul 2020 22:14:39
Markro, is this a fact? If so, it tells us something about the lad. Lead by money.

2.) 31 Jul 2020 22:21:26
JOHNSON is a better defender than NGAKIA not sure he's a better footballer but definetly a better defender IMO. COYI.

3.) 01 Aug 2020 10:02:12
Markwhu - first mentioned on the C&H website and reported elsewhere subsequently.

4.) 01 Aug 2020 18:27:15
He's just donne a quina and he hadn't done anything.

5.) 02 Aug 2020 07:50:18
The boy obviously got some very bad advice.

6.) 02 Aug 2020 10:11:25
Well he has not signed for them yet so maybe our offers still on the table throw him a small signing on fee they still save there wage structure he looked promising . unless we have money I agree don’t see many comings or goings unless rice leaves which no one wants and those that could leave there’s issues over wages huggill 35kwe are subsidizing his wages.

7.) 03 Aug 2020 23:51:59
bkk true but if he was willing to not even sign short term till the end of the season and walked away, I am not sure we want him. He obviously doesn't want to be at the club.

06 Jul 2020 11:38:47
I have to say I’m much happier than I was two games ago.

That’s it. That’s the post.

1.) 07 Jul 2020 11:57:02
Same team as previous 2 games . Only changing yarmelenko for lanzini.

02 Jul 2020 11:03:30
Morning all - and what a great morning after the night before.

That was as gutsy a performance as I’ve seen from us this season. Serious shifts put in by almost everybody.

Great to see Ogbonna back and defending so well. The midfield looks so much better with Rice and Soucek as a foundation. Both did brilliantly and were heavily involved at the key moments. Bowen and Fornals ran themselves to exhaustion.

Great to see a meaningful contribution from Yarmolenko, too.

And what do you say about Antonio? To make so much of a thankless task as lone striker with a goal and a quite brilliant assist, as well as terrific hold up play. MoM for me.

Two things are now clear: Noble needs to be a bench player for the rest of the season - we cannot change the successful Rice/ Soucek combo; I have to finally concede that Lanzini is done - he is the faintest shadow of the exciting, incisive, dynamic player he was pre-injury.

Three of our last six games are against teams below us. We will survive.

1.) 02 Jul 2020 15:37:47
Markro, complete agreement, already sung our praises in an earlier post, we were magnificent with Antonio MOM for me also, good hard working goal for himself plus a great penetrating assist ball to Yarmelenko to bury it beautifully⚽️Agree with comments on Noble, been a great motivating captain and shown great loyalty, but must accept now he’s due for bench duties only, Lanzini is finished unfortunately as you say and has been for a while, makes very little contribution in games now! Looking forward with confidence to Sunday at Newcastle, just hope if Caroll comes on he’s not intent on running about like a headless chicken for revenge on former teammates to prove a point?

2.) 02 Jul 2020 17:13:09
Well said Markro and Chelmsford completely agree TRUE GIT Lanzini is a shadow of himself but Noble still has a future at WH but not so much as a player.

3.) 02 Jul 2020 20:38:04
Maybe Carroll (who is well known for being a nutter) will get his marching orders.

Having said that, Newcastle have looked very good recently. I won’t panic if we don’t get anything from this game as 3 of our final 5 games are against teams below us.

4.) 02 Jul 2020 20:40:01
I wouldn’t be so hard on Lanzini, John. What happened to him was horrendous. He must be so frustrated that he can no longer do what he used to be able to.

Moyse must be seeing something in training that isn’t translating to match day.

5.) 03 Jul 2020 00:27:07
Best performance I've seen from lanzini in sometime. Worked hard and I can't recall him giving the ball away? I was actually pleased for him of course not at the same level pre-injury but I'd say this is a step in the right direction for him comparatively to how much he's struggled since coming back. Passing was astute hopefully we can see him start gliding past players again shown a little glimpse of it against chelsea and I'm hopeful he can build on it.

6.) 03 Jul 2020 06:55:44
Perhaps i was looking at the wrong player Lanzini did little to impress me.

7.) 14 Jul 2020 04:06:40
LANZINI is miles away from being the player we all thought he could be his heart isn't in west ham united its elsewhere and he doesn't want to be at WHUFC period. COYI.

01 Jul 2020 09:55:28
Arsenal win
Newcastle win
A draw for us.
That’ll do me.

1.) 01 Jul 2020 17:53:14
And me👍👍⚒⚒.

2.) 01 Jul 2020 19:57:20
2 out of 3 so far, Chelms.

3.) 01 Jul 2020 20:36:48
👍👍can we hang on though Mark? 😲🤭⚒⚒.

4.) 01 Jul 2020 22:41:28
We couldn’t have done better than that👍⚒Antonio does it again, goal, assist, run his socks off, great goal from Yarmelenko, should have started the game, but not unhappy for him to come on and finish it for us👍Great all round performance⚒⚒⚒.

5.) 02 Jul 2020 04:29:53
Well that was surprising. Wasn’t going to get up early morning here but dragged myself out of bed and when we went 1 down thought here we go. Even at 1-1 at half time I thought we were not going to hang on. Then when they got their second I thought oh no Liverpool all over again. Then that goal by Yarmalenko and I think I woke the neighbourhood up. We need that second half fight though every week, not just when we play a Chelsea or Liverpool. We need to take the points when we have easier games from now or we will still get overhauled.

04 Feb 2020 18:46:17
Rumours that Man U and Arsenal are “monitoring” Hacksawbandage.

Perhaps we ought to bring him back permanently in the summer.

1.) 04 Feb 2020 21:43:48
Just watching a bit of Oxford v Newcastle, first time I’ve seen Nathan Holland play, tell you what this kid has got some potential, got no fear and is a very good player. Wonder when we let him go too.

2.) 05 Feb 2020 07:22:46
Markro, as Whitby said Who are you talking about, Hacksawbandage? ⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 05 Feb 2020 09:10:31
My witty take on Haksabanovic.

4.) 05 Feb 2020 14:52:02
OK thanks Mark, hear the likeness saying it quickly👍⚒⚒⚒.

5.) 05 Feb 2020 18:28:09
Talented kid by all accounts. Oh, hang on a minute we let him go didn't we.

6.) 05 Feb 2020 21:44:07
I think he’s still ours, MAC. He’s out on loan, isn’t he?

7.) 06 Feb 2020 07:43:32
Then he will be on first team. next year when we are relegated.

I wonder if Lanzini’s drop in form is due to any physical limitations after his horrendous injury. It would be interesting to have speed stats both before and after. And to know if his twisting/ change of direction is still the same.

If everything is mended and his physical capabilities are the same as before, then it must purely be down to confidence.

Someone might get a genuine bargain if he leaves this window.

1.) 03 Aug 2020 17:33:24
Markro, I would say it’s definitely after his terrible injury, your confidence must go knowing if something similar happened again it could be all over? As an example, I don’t think Andy Murray will ever be back to his previous best before his hip injury!

28 Jul 2020 20:41:40
Haller will score 20 PL goals next year.

1.) 29 Jul 2020 08:35:49
I hope so but only with a change of attacking style by moyes and support.

2.) 29 Jul 2020 16:18:37
Mark I'll have a fiver with you he won't.

3.) 29 Jul 2020 22:49:51
Markro. he won’t even have 20 shots on target!

4.) 29 Jul 2020 22:54:23
If West Ham change set up and go with 2 forwards and one just behind, he will bang in 20 goals.
If we continue with one up front we will get results but not normally pretty to watch.
Haller has a great record and shows signs when he is on the pitch, his instinct for goal is good.
Antonio, Bowen and haller in middle of those would get goals and be exciting to watch.

5.) 31 Jul 2020 21:35:55
What is all this negative points regarding HALLER its really annoying me now give the guy a chance please his record in german football is right up there just behind LEWANDOSKI when at FRANKFURT and obviously hasn't quite adapted YET to the premier league is that normal as HENRY wouldn't have been the sensation he was arsenal i'm not saying he's HENRY but i really rate him and a lot of good football people do as well. COYI.

28 Jul 2020 20:39:44
Bite Soton’s hand off. Johnson is so much better than Fredericks.

1.) 29 Jul 2020 08:37:02
not sure Ryan was a defender tgh, when we bought him I remember one of the eds saying that.

2.) 29 Jul 2020 11:52:55
Yes believe he has been a midfielder most of his career.

18 Jul 2020 19:13:25
Really pleased with yesterday.

Soucek is the box to box Dynamo we’ve been crying out for.

18 Jul 2020 00:05:43
Ok. I’ll admit it.

I have never been a Moyse fan (middle of the road, keep Everton afloat etc), but he has now saved us twice.

I’m not sure how to process that.

I don’t think there will be much player movement this window. The “big” clubs might have some interchanges, but the rest of us - not so much.

I think the team we played for the final matches and the way we played are good enough for comfortable PL survival next season.

I know there’s been loads of chatter about our full backs, an ageing Noble and not enough goals up front, but how bad would you feel if we started the first game of the season with the side we finished this one with?

I’ve been fighting Haller’s corner for ages. He is quality: great first touch and immense in the air. Moyse needs to train the secondary strikers to buzz around him.

If he starts most matches next season, we will score plenty.

I suppose it depends on what he’s been told by Guardiola. If City buy this window to cover his position, maybe the writing’s on the wall.

Is he interested in playing, or a bench warming bank balance?

I am all for trying to entice younger, hungrier players to us. Moyse did well at Everton with young lads and made them into very decent players.

However, if the right tried and tested player becomes available to fill a specific squad place, we shouldn’t automatically turn him down if the price is right.

Reducing the average age of your squad is mostly good, but experience can also be of benefit.

The key is not paying over the odds.

If QPR really want Hugill then £10m should facilitate the swap.

If West Ham have any real interest in becoming a stronger PL team, we need to keep Rice.
