In their message, the Bundesliga club said:

"Eintracht and West Ham have agreed on transfer terms regarding Sebastien Haller.

As a result, Haller has clearance to complete the medical exam in London.

Should this take a positive course, Haller will join the Hammers. "

I am so hoping this is true!

Me to I'm a big fan as u guys have guessed been wanting him here for a few seasons hope nothing hampers this deal.

C&H reporting this morning:

English-speaking Haller has made up his mind that a move to the Premier League is the next stage of his career and a highly placed source inside the club have told ClaretandHugh they consider the chances now better than 50/ 50.

We were told by e mail: “The player really wants to come to West Ham – he has made that clear to us so we have to believe this is now possible. ”

Hammering out a deal with the German outfit may be a little more problematical as we understand Frankfurt are looking for closer to £42 million for the player plus various add ons which would include sell on percentages.

And man utd are now sniffing. Best we get deal done quickly cause this striker saga is dragging on a bit.

2.) 15 Jul 2019 19:56:53
If Man U are in fact in for him and he knows that then this will drag on and on until Man play their hand.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 08:33:48
Various sources coming out now saying this is very close/ done.

All feels quite the coup if we get it over the line!

If so be interesting to see who the second striker to try and bring in is.

L’Equipe report about Haller:

“The French outlet claim that he has had a change of heart with West Ham now set to enter discussions over personal terms after settling on a fee with Frankfurt. ”.

1.) 12 Jul 2019 16:15:45
Unless he's in london ( or china ) and its official I won't believe it markro, too much media hype over lots of players and west ham at the moment, ed put us out of our misery is this a no chance deal.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 17:08:50
But stories suggest he wants a release clause that allows him to leave if a bigger club comes in for him - not sure how that gets structured but not ideal.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 18:04:39
Will he have a pre written list of agreed bigger clubs lol release cause is normally a monie thing g not a wish list.

4.) 12 Jul 2019 18:15:05
I’ve never heard of a contract including clauses about “bigger clubs” - maybe it might state “Champions League” or “European Competition. ” Otherwise a standard trigger amount is the usual way forward. Sign him up for €40m and lob a €100m release Claus in. Job done.

5.) 12 Jul 2019 18:36:24
All presumption and pue in the sky at the moment but it would be best part of 100m markro, if he was on say a 5 yr contract at 100k pw, still all sounds like fairy dust to me.

6.) 12 Jul 2019 18:38:40
*clause (though the whole thing may have something Santa about it all!

7.) 12 Jul 2019 18:57:57
Naughty elfs in there also lol don't mention xmas! That would mean jan transfers would be on the horizon. noooooooooooo.

8.) 12 Jul 2019 20:49:04
So we are a feeder for HALLER if he warms to the premier league I know what I'd do and the only way is put €150 million on that release clause other clubs do, what's good for barcelona with MESSI apparent €650 million release clause I know he ain't Messi but what's good for goose well you know what I mean. COYI.

9.) 12 Jul 2019 21:31:12
But sadly.

10.) 12 Jul 2019 22:55:09
We will end up with no-one of note the way this is going. Would have thought when they released people they had more of a plan than get Gomez.

11.) 13 Jul 2019 08:46:29
I have no idea what Haller is like, I would take the consensus of opinion that he’d be a great signing for us, unless it looks almost nailed on as rumours suggest, we are desperate for a target man upfront and Hope plan B is in place if not? We need a big strong proven battler and scorer up front, doesn’t have to be somebody unobtainable that is a dream, just a realistic prospect for us. I see no problem with age within reason for a target man, maximum say 30 as that still gives another couple of years providing no serious injury problems! I think it’s more important to have slightly younger players elsewhere apart from GK. ⚒⚒⚒.

12.) 13 Jul 2019 18:06:41
I'm just waiting for either EVERTON, SPURS, or NEWCASTLE to hijack tge HALLER move as it's normally one of them mainly EVERTON so please hurry up if we are going to get this deal over the line otherwise we can only blame ourselves for making our business public again I understand it's difficult to keep quiet on transfers but not impossible. COYI.

Where are we with the over all wages bill?

The list below is guesswork!

Approx:

Carroll 90k
Arnie 100k+
Perez 60k?
Adrian 50k?
Fernandes 30k? Who else has left?

If Chicha/ Obiang leave 180k?

Then:

Fornals 80k?
Roberto/ Martin 60k?
Two new strikers 180k?

We seem to have plenty of scope.

Markro

1.) 08 Jul 2019 13:09:07
Adrian 50k
Nasri 60-80k.

2.) 08 Jul 2019 16:19:29
Thanks. Had forgotten about Nasir (but did include Adrian) .

3.) 08 Jul 2019 22:54:22
Perez was 80k
Arnautovic was over 120k
Samuelsen was rumoured to be 8k

Roberto/ Martin is under 20k between them.
Fornals is meant to be closer to 50k.

4.) 08 Jul 2019 23:13:57
Thanks, Den - all of which means we are even better off than I thought!

06 Jul 2019 22:32:31
There has been an interesting suggestion that the Huse has proposed a Chicha to Valencia deal to free the Gomez logjam.

I quite like the logic of the deal, which would give Chicha both Spanish football and CL, which he wants and would give Valencia a player they’ve been tracking for some time.

Any thought, anyone?

Markro

{Ed002's Note - Valencia already have an interest in CH but they need to be creative financially.}

1.) 06 Jul 2019 22:42:20
Sounds promising.

2.) 06 Jul 2019 22:52:16
Is this regarding his wage? can't think we would demand a big fee for him?

3.) 07 Jul 2019 17:19:18
8-10 million is a figure mentioned.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 20:04:32
I keep looking at the news site, its 8pm medical over, I hope someone popped to boots and bought a pen, come on what's the hold up?, never mind posing in a shirt with his arms crossed as a hammer just report his signed.

14 Jul 2019 08:15:40
Maupay? Don’t know much about him, but maybe the club is interested in back up to Haller (fingers still crossed) especially if Chicha leaves.

However, I’m not heartened by this report:

“Maupay skipped Brentford’s pre-season friendly yesterday and has been given permission to return to his native France for three days due to him not being in the right frame of mind. ”

Maybe I’m jumping the gun, but we don’t need another Prima Donna.

“McKay is believed to have told Haller that the West Ham “project” is at an exciting stage and that the player has every chance of ensuring the club hits the top four. ”.

1.) 12 Jul 2019 19:08:13
Loved him in porridge :) ;) :)

2.) 13 Jul 2019 00:13:38
Haha, we’re back to Fletcher, then.

3.) 13 Jul 2019 11:55:39
Mmm I think he is facing some porridge of his own.

11 Jul 2019 19:16:43
First pre-season game was a healthy run out for most. Wilshere by far the best on display, followed by Lanzini.

Sanchez looked poor, especially his decision making, Diangana lost possession too often (he must go out on loan) and Yarmolenko looked sluggish and rusty.

More to come I hope. Though a victory is always welcome.

Markro

1.) 12 Jul 2019 08:47:45
Rusty Run out as expected but notall, , agree.

2.) 12 Jul 2019 09:19:15
Decent rusty run out markro on diangana he needs more strength, seems to get forced off the ball a lot, maybe a loan spell will help with that side of his development.

3.) 12 Jul 2019 17:18:01
It’s a chance to have look at the squad results. Not really important but helpful mp will decide diagrana look good going forward but no real end product.

4.) 13 Jul 2019 17:54:53
Nothing would please me more than if and it's a big if jack WILSHIRE can stay injury free because that would be like a new signing as well. COYI.

09 Jul 2019 18:14:35
No, no, no, not Wilson, please!

It doesn’t sound good, but he was in the last year of his contract on £30k a week and WH needed to free up his wages. I’ve read that there are conditions written in so presumably there’s a hefty sell on clause.

Thanks for the updates.

Failing serious interest from elsewhere, if Haller came to us because he thought we might be a useful stepping stone, I’d be more than happy. As a club, we need to get higher quality players in our squad to push on and a standard trigger clause could be placed in any contract to encourage him to come on board.

The way I see it, we are more likely to challenge for Europe with better quality players in the side and, if we do qualify, there is a better chance that these type of players would stay.

Markro

{Ed002's Note - You cannot start adding (I assume you mean) termination clauses to contracts - it is fraught with issues, costs money and can backfire easily. I would expect the player might demand a low termination clause from a CL team.}

Just YouTubed him. He’s 5’7”.

I’d sum him up as Chicha-like poacher with more energy. You have to remember though, that all the video is against Championship defences.

I know YouTube videos are always “the very best of, ” but it’s worth looking at Haller’s for last season. The boy can play.

The main target MUST be Haller, who is already proven at the highest level. I don’t think it’s an either, or. Maupay’s problem will be that even if Chicha leaves, he will not be the automatic starter if we do buy Haller.

I read the “mammoth” reference in terms of wages, not transfer fee, but we’ll see.

Haller and Billing for me. Whilst the Carroll pay as you play idea isn’t a bad one, with our developing and widening squad, I don’t want him taking up one of the registered places.
