Eds - is there any truth in the Everton Soares rumours? What have you heard, please?

{Ed002's Note - Lots of clubs have been looking at Everton Soares but none are interested at the Gremio asking price of €120M nor the for sale price of around €80M. I would not hold your breath at all. Over hyped with an agent happy to let a third party hawk him around to clubs who are open to the slightly odder arrangements.}

1.) 05 Dec 2019 01:54:06
West Ham have taken on some of the oddest arrangements in football in the past :)

23 Nov 2019 20:42:11
Please! Do not jump on the criticise Haller band wagon. Look at what his success in Germany was based on - effective interplay with a second front man.

Once Antonio came on, it was clear that we had far better options up front.

We won the second half 2:1 and that is no co-incidence.

The disappointment has been that MP has taken such a long time to understand how to get the best out of Haller (who is a top, top player if given the right support. )

Two up front MUST be the way forward.

1.) 23 Nov 2019 22:38:00
We are the whipping boys of the league
Pundits slagging off, social media mocking
us, gold and Sullivan are you going to allow
this to keep happening!
Your apperantly fans of our club and have
the clubs best interest at heart!
If that’s true then show it
Get rid of this dinosaur!

2.) 23 Nov 2019 22:59:00
We only won the second half because Spurs stopped at 3-0 and put on defensive players. I am not critising Haller but the score flatters is, we won nothing. The players aren’t up for a fight and some of the points we got early weren’t on great performances they were based on playing poor teams that didn’t take their chances. Things need to change and I think those two late goals might cloud that fact which is a shame.

3.) 24 Nov 2019 10:39:29
We are being flattered, spurs went to sleep at 3 nil.

4.) 25 Nov 2019 06:26:29
That was terrible to watch on Saturday but although Spurs eased up once they got the third Antonio coming on with all his bluster, strength and speed perked up Haller dramatically. So I agree Markro, there is nothing wrong with Haller, he just needs the right kind of support.

I wish Pelle would realise we can't play like Man City and change the system, a back three perhaps with Ogbonna, Rice and Cresswell, wing backs with Masuaku and Fredericks, midfield of Noble, Sanchez and Wiltshire and Haller and Antonio up front.

16 Sep 2019 23:36:33
Excellent performances from Lanzini, Fabianski and Rice. Very good from Diop and Ogbonna. The rest need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Anderson needs to stop being all fur coat and no knickers - you’re there to feed Haller. Do it for heaven’s sake. Haller didn’t really put a foot wrong, he just needs decent service and other attackers with him up front.

We actually played our best football when we were down a man.

A draw was a fair result in the end, but when a game is spoiled by a clueless referee, what can you do?

I hope that Johnson gets a call up for the next game as Zaba’s legs aren’t up to 90 mins any longer. Please don’t stick Ogbonna, or Cresswell in at LB.

1.) 17 Sep 2019 16:49:05
Thought Anderson tracked back well - but he slowed up play when attacking. Could this be because Yarmolenko was so off the pace that we only had Haller in the box and he was covered? Need to get more in there more quickly perhaps?

15 Sep 2019 20:24:04
There’s a rumour we could be 3rd tomorrow night, but keep it quiet! 🤫🤫🤫🤫.

1.) 16 Sep 2019 07:41:40
Joint 2nd!

2.) 17 Sep 2019 10:36:39
So much for that! 😪.

01 Sep 2019 00:35:35
Terrific win. We could have had a hatful, but Krul was outstanding.

Anderson MoM - some of his through balls were a joy to see (eye of the needle precision) .

Lanzini terrific too, Haller excellent (with exception of that tackle - he needs to be careful there) .

Rice and Noble will be nailed on as a DM partnership for a while. Even Sanchez didn’t put a foot wrong.

Pleased for Yarmolenko as his goal will give him confidence and it was great to see his celebration with the medical staff.

We’ve got some very winnable matches coming up. Happy days.

1.) 01 Sep 2019 09:03:09
Agree Markro, Krul was amazing yesterday. Team appeared to be balanced. I think we look stronger with Ogbonna, he tidied up for Diop, plus being left footed helps.

2.) 01 Sep 2019 09:07:16
I think the full back partnership is pretty nailed on as well! Fredo and Arthur both put in very good performances and they have pace to burn

Anderson is an absolute joy when his head I switched on. Haller reminds me a bit of Kanoute, great player!

3.) 02 Sep 2019 11:48:22
100% Great performance.

4.) 02 Sep 2019 12:01:26
100%, great performance.
Balance in CM is key for us, and Noble is the guy who enables us to achieve this when he's alongside Rice. Nobes is great on the ball and transitions the ball into the creative players so well. He also has the defensive mentality and physical commitment needed to help Rice protect the back four. Our biggest weakness may be that we have no cover for Nobes (our closest is Snodgrass and he is a winger by trade), while Nobes also has his shortfalls with his lack of pace. If he had Kante's legs he would be a superstar!
Ovations like the one he received on Saturday should be encouraged. He is a club legend, and we should want to show the current crop (Rice/ Lanzini/ Haller/ Fornals/ Diop) how we treat our legends, and make them want to do the same.
Have to put a word out for Masuaku, who once again proved he is improving at LB. Still has a mistake in him (especially against a big team who will attack us more) but he is improving, and we love a player who gets his head down and works on their game! Long may it continue.

5.) 03 Sep 2019 17:55:01
Nickinho, agree with your post, have always rated Masuaku, every player has mistakes in them obviously, he’s taken bags of stick from many posters, but he is an attacking wing back, with bags of pace, a good ball crosser and a grafter👍👍⚒⚒⚒.

6.) 17 Sep 2019 15:09:21
Masuaku red will be recinded without fail. COYI.

Martin, Cresswell, Fredericks, Rice, Noble and Antonio. That’s 6/ 11 English players starting a PL match. When was the last time that happened?

(Snoddy also “home grown”)

30 Nov 2019 20:48:51
That was a very good effort today. Everybody did the hard yards and the defence looked so much more confident with Martin behind them.

Antonio makes a huge difference - there are so few real power forwards in the game today. He rattles defenders and gives his heart and soul.

Rice has rediscovered his best form too.

1.) 01 Dec 2019 06:53:54
Currently out in Vienna, really didn’t want to
watch the game as wanted to enjoy my
Weekend away.
Wow what a surprise tho, found a pub, full
of Chelsea fans, sang my heart out for the team.
Each and everyone of them put in a proper
shift, shame it’s not more often.
Well done lads, now focus on wolves.

2.) 01 Dec 2019 11:08:30
Read Anderson and MP had words when he was subbed. Diop missing with suspension, I think he should miss again as he hasn’t looked good all season.

09 Nov 2019 21:35:14
Moving Adrian on has proved to be the worst decision made in the last window. Roberto simply isn’t up to it (responsible for two goals today) . Martin must wonder why he moved, his dad would make a better fist of it in goal than Roberto at the moment. MP’s forward flowing football works if you have a team full of superstars, but we are not that. Teams have worked us out and consistently hit us on the break with long balls or quick play through the middle or down the flanks.
I feel really sorry for Haller. We all saw what a top forward he was last year as part of a two up front. MP’s style leaves him isolated and working off scraps. What has happened to Anderson? He twiddles down the wing, looks a threat but there is never an end product. Lanzini, who has been a fantastic player, looks a shadow of his former self.
We are desperate for better structure a more direct front play. I can’t wait to see Antonio back in the fold.

1.) 10 Nov 2019 03:35:12
Anderson best position has always been a no 10 play him behind Haller why doesn’t MP change things up ie getting Yarmalenko to switch over to the left side?

2.) 10 Nov 2019 06:42:03
What I cannot understand is why is he not trying Trott, meant to be a good keeper, give him a go.
I for one would rather get relegated using the youngsters than putting up with the effort we see now.
I reckon I could give the managers job a good go, I’d take £50,000 basic, if I got 7th or over I’d want £100,000 per position bonus.
To me that’s a win win for GS!
Fans would enjoy youngsters giving it a good go, I go to the u23’s games and you see effort.
Best thing that has happened to Chelsea is the transfer ban, hate to say it but they are enjoyable to watch and it’s all about the youth.
Time to move pellegrini on and go youth both in manager and players!

3.) 10 Nov 2019 08:35:08
Unfortunately Pelllegrini will never change
his one and only way of playing. He is inept
of making any changes to combat the
opposition! Looks like we will be without
noble and lanzini for spurs so what will the
dinosaur do, probably Sanchez and Fornals
That will worry spurs.

4.) 10 Nov 2019 09:48:52
Trott is on a year long loan at Wimbledon.

5.) 10 Nov 2019 20:22:41
I have to say I think Yarmolenko is past it, he’s good for 10 mins in a game which we cannot afford that luxury!
Antonio hopefully back for spurs game, we need someone to give a bit of running up and down, nobody else wants to do it.
My 11 would be

A goalie other than roberto!
Fredericks, Ogbonna, Reid, cresswell
Masuaku, rice, Antonio, Holland
Anderson or the new striker from Man Utd and haller up front.

We need to get over this “they are too young”, we have got Coventry, Silva, Holland and several others so give them a go.

6.) 11 Nov 2019 11:05:10
I love your team Bobbywhufc, I would love to see Holland given a chance, even 30 minutes for a couple of games to see if he can cope with premiership same with Masuaku. The best defences in the world rely on a combination of competence and understanding, they don't always need to be the best defenders but know how to cover each other. Pelle needs to pick the best combination and then stick to it for a few games so they can build themselves that understanding and I think, as long as they are capable of being in the same team I think any 4 of Fredericks, Ogbonna, Reid, Diop and Cresswell must be given a chance.

Our midfield has stopped working, back in September everyone was glowing about it but what now. I am hugely disappointed that Fornals hasn't worked, Lancini is injured but has always been fickle and Wiltshire, Anderson, Snodgrass, Noble, Rice have lost their way. Having Antonio back will be good news, though he is prone to injury.

Haller back in September was being picked for 20 goals plus this season but with no support doesn't seem to have any confidence any more.

It does seem to come down to the manager doesn't it, if he hasn't turned things around by Christmas then he must go cause we will then definitely be in a relegation battle and I don't think he is capable of handling that.

7.) 11 Nov 2019 12:17:59
When we dropped Masuaku is when the crosses stopped coming in, his over lapping with Anderson was our outlet and haller was there to tap home, cresswell is good defender but looks like he’s running through cement going forward, got to start getting basics right.
Controversial but I would of taken money for Diop, whether it’s confidence or not he is running round like a headless chicken, a liability. Get Ogbonna in asapor even Gonçalo that young Portuguese defender!
I will be at next game but can only see a hammering the way we are set up, spurs will be well up for it which could be bad for us.

8.) 11 Nov 2019 20:48:17
Hiya bobbywhufc you missed one in SCULLY top scorer in the league you know what will happen we will beat spurs and everyone will think we are ok if this happens which I for one can't see then its a complete lack of professionalism and I would out CRESWELL, ZABALETA, SANCHEZ, SNODGRASS, NOBLE, ROBERTO totally from the club and WILSHIRE as well not on ability but his fitness problems and I agree with you bobby the portugese defender must be better than creswell I don't agree on yarmolenko although he needs to improve fitness the team doesn't look fit enough IMO and on the HALLER situation he's totally isolated and needs at least a no 10 around him. COYI.

07 Nov 2019 20:40:12
What happened to Johnson? Thrown it at the deep end v City last year, he did really well.

1.) 08 Nov 2019 10:40:43
Been injured just about to come back I understand.

02 Nov 2019 14:04:53
Unchanged side and bench today. Let’s hope they give Haller far better service than last week.

1.) 02 Nov 2019 15:54:42
Unfortunately not - build up is far too slow as usual and the defence is a shambles. About time a few players had their efforts questioned. For me Diop is out of position and at fault for a large majority of the goals we concede and his position in the team needs to be in question. Anderson just isn’t doing the things he did when he was at his best last season, far too slow going forward and lacks confidence to take players on. Haller is coming too deep and needs support. I would move Yarma up next to him, pull Anderson off and go to 4-4-2 and stop getting overrun in midfield.

Putting Roberto to one side, as MP has finally decided to do, why on earth do we need another keeper? Martin should maintain his place in the short term until Fabulouski returns and, of course, Trott is still out there.

Sounds like MP thinking about scoring more than the opposition. I reckon most of us would like to see some balance and some decent defence to concede fewer.

Apparently it’s what the industry does. So far the biggest speculation has been about Man U and I’m pretty sure that MP has already persuaded Rice that they are a once great team in serious decline and that he has better European prospects with us.

Disagree. We should be looking to win every match and Palace (who have important players missing today) are the sort of team we need to beat, if we have any aspirations of finishing well above last year.

Fabianski’s absence is a concern, but MPH went for Roberto in the last window, so they must believe he’s good enough.

Our outfield 10 is just about our first pick, surely.

I’m predicting that we’ll win it by two clear goals. 👍.

I think it could be a really exciting, attacking game. As long as we score more than they do, I’ll be happy. 👍.
