Svanberg, anyone?

Markro

1.) 09 Apr 2022 13:30:44
I don't know this gent; will go and investigate the net.

2.) 09 Apr 2022 13:43:04
CM moderate goalscoring ability too ; aged just 23

3.) 09 Apr 2022 14:32:48
Again to me its all about if moyes likes him and will give him time on the pitch
The kid look decent right age but would moyes play him?
Ive been pretty concered with the way moyes refuses to bring the younger kids on
Flex and a few others need to be given a chance

4.) 10 Apr 2022 02:12:58
I think it really comes down to what the plan is and whether there is really going to be REAL money to spend or whether it is still bargain basement time. If they are serious about spending 100 Million such as the unconfirmed Nunez, Phillips, Raphinha bids would suggest then we need to bring in a serious striker, centre back, competition in central midfield as priorities. Players for the future can come afterwards in my opinion. But if it is same old same old we need some competition for Antonio and a centre back. All this assumes we sign Areola as we won’t have two keepers of sufficient standard otherwise. We keep saying each window is important but I think this one will really determine where we are over the next few seasons as Rice, Soucek and Bowen won’t stay long unless we invest this summer.

5.) 11 Apr 2022 05:53:58
I think Sdl has hit the nail on the head could not agree more

6.) 11 Apr 2022 15:32:56
Yes hence my rare silence too on this issue now

7.) 12 Apr 2022 07:59:45
I think Moyes will let Areola go unfortunately. Reports suggest he will cost £11m to buy. Therefore, I believe he’ll go for Johnstone from WBA and Tarkowski from Burnley. both free transfers. This makes sense as it bulks the squad up without spending on transfer fees.

8.) 12 Apr 2022 09:52:13
I read somewhere areola on crazy wages so never really seen us signing him
We going to need to spend wisely so a few free will be needed as we have quite a few leaving and the squad far to small as it is
Priority has to be striker and there can be no excuses
Schick would be a good call for me and shouldn't break the bank getting him

9.) 12 Apr 2022 21:06:31
Yea his wages at PSG are likely going to be a problem think I mentioned that a bit earlier in the season. We need a good second keeper though as Fab is going to get injuries unfortunately.

10.) 15 Apr 2022 10:04:32
Hlozek is still a serious consideration for me.

Very young, very talented and scores frequently.

11.) 16 Apr 2022 12:48:34
My money is on Rainchek of Moskow lol but just not yet.

30 Nov 2021 11:13:32
Cabral?

Our record with signing players from the Swiss league isn’t great.

Markro

1.) 30 Nov 2021 17:31:01
Bloke would be great signing

2.) 30 Nov 2021 21:58:23
I read Leeds were after him too, and possibly Barca?

16 Nov 2021 13:50:02
Just a stray thought on FFP etc.

If Kretinsky sanctions a Sparta loan of Hlozek to us, would that ease potential FFP issues for this season, or is it a wages thing?

Markro

{Ed002's Note - He would not be in a position to do that. If WHU want him then they may yet be able to by him.}

1.) 18 Nov 2021 08:55:27
Blimey, looks like I was prescient. There are now reports that West Ham are interested in a loan to buy deal for Hlozek in January.

2.) 18 Nov 2021 13:35:10
“? #WHUFC want to sign Adam Hlozek in January and also a centre-back to cover the injured Ogbonna.

Hlozek could be an initial loan with conditions to make an obligatory purchase, similar to Soucek's 2020 deal. Kretinsky could be key.”

{Ed002's Note - There is a need to fill both positions and AH is one of the options West Ham have looked at.

Adam Hlozek (F) has been scouted by West Ham, RBL, Milan, Liverpool, Dortmund, Arsenal and others but has a desire to move to West Ham where Soucek, who he shares an agent with, plays. Has made clear that he will want assurances of game time.}

3.) 18 Nov 2021 15:47:28
Thx. That sounds really encouraging. The lad can play.

09 Nov 2021 11:29:00
Both Milenkovic and Caleta-Car rumours recently.

If reports about Ogbonna’s ACL are true, we’ll need to reinforce CB in the winter window.

Markro

{Ed002's Note - {Ed002's Note - There is another club already in discussions with Marseille over Caleta-Car.}

1.) 09 Nov 2021 12:02:56
Thanks, Ed. I’d read that. There’s so much up for discussion at the moment at the club: Kretinsky investment, current involvement in three major competitions, the striker quandary, unprecedented, successful times at West Ham.

However, I think Ogbonna’s injury will focus Moyse’s mind on CB reinforcement.

2.) 10 Nov 2021 20:18:27
Yes a CB and a Striker if we can somehow find money. Not sure we need Lingard back over those two positions.

3.) 11 Nov 2021 10:38:24
Adam Hlozek from Sparta Prague to provide back up to Antonio would be a dream signing for me, he can play anywhere across the front 3 and in some respects reminds me a lot of Bowen.

We need another centre back if Ogbonna is out for a while, but I could see this being a loan option and sticking with Zouma and Dawson to start, with Diop as the preferred back up. Don’t forget Karl and Cresswell could potentially slot in there too. I actually wouldn’t be too surprised to see someone like Phil Jones brought in on loan to cover (I said not surprised, not that it is what I would want).

4.) 25 Nov 2021 16:39:03
I've got to be honest and admit that I'm far from convinced that Hlozek is the solution to our striking problems that people think he is. Besides, isn't he currently out with a knee injury?

I could be wrong, but after watching him quite intently during the Euros, I just think he'll struggle in the PL. Julian Alvarez may be a better shout should we be able to convince him over Real, AC, Juventus or Villa.

5.) 27 Nov 2021 21:19:18
Hlozek normally actually plays in a wide position rather than a striker. He scores cutting in. As said, not sure he will solve the issue unless converted to an out and out striker, but that isn’t his game.

6.) 08 Dec 2021 22:04:39
Exactly SDL we done that with HALLER buying him and not playing to his strength and a style and formation and now look when he's been playing in a formation that suits him better he wasnt a big no9 that is going to smash people that he's up against he's a skillfull striker because he was 6ft 3 people just presume he's a big bruiser not the case.

7.) 14 Dec 2021 14:59:34
yes we play once CF but need a back up one for when Antonio is injured, suspended or out of form to step in then.

28 Oct 2021 14:39:10
Rumours of Kretinsky investing £700m for a 27% share in the club may be exaggerated.

Markro

1.) 28 Oct 2021 15:20:08
Mark the way I read the article was a 27% stake valuing the club at £650 million I e he would be investing around £160 million initially with the intention of taking s majority stake after 2023

Ed's any confirmation in you knowledge.

{Ed002's Note - There have been discussions for a while but your understanding is that the stake that is available is apparently just under 27% of the total shares and that your calculation is correct that it values the club at something like £600+M in total - not his share. There is a separate issue to resolve in relation to UEFA and his ownership of Sparta Prague in respect of European competition. But that can be fixed.}

2.) 28 Oct 2021 16:01:51
Thx for the info. Any serious investment would be welcome. The Daves aren’t getting any younger. Kretinsky is, I believe, about 46.

3.) 29 Oct 2021 09:02:09
Thanks Ed brilliant as usual.

4.) 29 Oct 2021 10:25:48
So, if he buys 27%, that will be for something like £150m to £180m approx. Who is he buying the shares from? If it’s from the Davids, then that money becomes theirs. That means talk of boosting the Jan war chest for buying players depends on whether the Davids want to spend their new money.

Will they?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, the shares are from the owners and the money will be theirs. They could choose to invest some in the club but are constrained by FFP.}

5.) 29 Oct 2021 21:35:58
Thank you.

6.) 30 Oct 2021 21:10:39
C&H reporting Kretinsky is one of several interested in buying a stake in west ham. Any truth in that? Are sparta Prague ran well?

7.) 01 Nov 2021 01:48:49
No matter how much money somebody pumps in to a football club there is always them very powerful three letters FFP and everybody must obide to them as Newcastle thought they were instantly going to be up to winning the premier league unfortunately it takes time to develop a squad to do this and the reason city and Chelsea, Liverpool are there is the whole squad not just the starting 11 the bench has to be strong I'm not saying I'd rather not have the billionaire owner as that would be crazy as that's the way football is, and if your club hasn't got that billionaire owners then you just cannot compete with the top clubs and every season will be survival which isn't enjoyable so I welcome the CZECH billionaire with open arms as the three (well so far 2 ) haven't been bad to put it mildly so COYI.
L.

8.) 01 Nov 2021 03:55:29
I read the likelihood is paying down the 120 million debt that is at high interest rates to begin with. That would make a big difference as payments on it eat into the amount able to be spent on playing staff.

9.) 01 Nov 2021 11:34:19
Whorya48,?? good to see you back posting, was wondering not seeing you on here for so long if you were OK????⚒⚒⚒⚒.

10.) 02 Nov 2021 20:21:24
Wonder what the sparta fans think of him. I've read recently he can be overly involved with team matters ie tactics, lineups. If true I wouldn't want him.

11.) 03 Nov 2021 00:25:34
Did read that too Iron.Al, supposedly not hiring a manager because the manager couldn't explain to him how the overlapping fullbacks would be able to recover in time if the ball was lost. Wonder how much truth to that though? I think Moyes or any other PL manager that might come in would tell him to (space to fill out any two words of your choosing) .

12.) 18 Nov 2021 18:32:30
Hiya chelmsford i'm ok just been super busy mate hope you are well also?

Frustrating draw. We had plenty of decent chances to win that one. Antonio fluffed several.
We are desperate for a classy finisher. Darwin would certainly evolve the team, but

Markro

1.) 18 Apr 2022 22:30:50
Natural selection mate.we can only select from our thin squad ; whom are crackered anyway

2.) 19 Apr 2022 12:12:31
Gotten worse now that Diop's out for the rest of the season. Rice at CB will be Moyes shout, which completely dilutes our midfield. Really don't think we're going to be picking up many more points this season. Not even daring to think about the Frankfurt games.

3.) 19 Apr 2022 13:13:02
Alese has talent, but is untested at Prem level. I wonder if Moyse might consider Kral as a stopgap CB: good height, decent pace and combative.

4.) 20 Apr 2022 01:39:16
Possibly as he's played it lots; Cressy left centre back; Dawson mid, then only leaves right outstanding if one plays wing backs. Who could play right CB/HB?

5.) 20 Apr 2022 07:42:05
Until you try and pitch these youngsters in how are they meant to get premier league experience sitting on the bench which when we've been winning games he still would rather run a first team player into the ground I'd love to see OKO-FLEX to see if he's up to it and start him instead of people judging him when he's played the last 5 min

6.) 21 Apr 2022 13:01:16
Yes what about Oko up front and Antonio getting a little rest on the right wing (or RWB if that system used) ; although he is gung ho so would still get crackered

13 Mar 2022 16:06:41
Really good win today. Emotional moment for Yarmolenko.

I thought Fredericks looked good when he came on too.

Markro

1.) 13 Mar 2022 17:27:52
Only got live commentary on Radio so will watch on MOTD. Really pleased for Yarmelenko to score, must have been really emotional moment for him, typical WH to make it a really nervous end, but a great 3 points??Hope the Ant and Cress injuries not to bad, but would like to see Yarmo get time again on Thursday instead of Vlasic!
⚒⚒⚒

2.) 14 Mar 2022 14:33:04
MOTD coverage was garbage Chelmsford showed nothing of Villa diving to the ground when the wind blows. I do dispare of the level of referees.i think he was either niaive or incompetent.

3.) 14 Mar 2022 17:23:16
Merc, Radio commentary kept repeating about how easily Villa players were diving at the slightest nudge, he just fell short of calling them cheats, not once but quite a few occasions! ⚒⚒⚒

I hope it’s not too hot, otherwise:

Then can have them on toast

12 Feb 2022 14:28:09
Sherringham reckons Rice is worth between £150m to £160m.

Sounds ridiculous, by but:

A. Who else in world football is as good as Rice at what he does?

and

B. Who else has the potential and the shelf life in his position?

Markro

1.) 13 Feb 2022 18:09:31
In today's market I think he is worth that but in today's economic crisis its outrageous.

2.) 17 Feb 2022 10:39:34
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day - and Teddy is right on this occasion.

Rashford hasn’t pulled up any trees lately.

Belotti is Moyes’ type of player - rugged, fearless and hard working.

He can finish, too (which helps).

Leave it with Moyse.

The papers are also touting us to spend bucketloads this summer.

I doubt if that’s true either, but I can always hope.

The danger, as always, is to get our hopes up for an aggressively successful transfer window, only get increasingly frustrated as it nears the deadline.

I’m tired of, “We tried really hard, but just couldn’t get them over the line in time.”

So much depends on how we do in our current European campaign. Champions League football next season would open up many transfer possibilities.

Sadly, Areola is too costly to keep, wages wise. He has done really well in the cup competitions, esp Europe. Apparently, Johnson has been told to hang his gloves up, as he won’t play again until he leaves. Decent keeper and a good option for us.

Milenkovic would be a better choice than Tarkowski and wouldn’t break the bank.

The Lingard saga has been very quiet for some time now. He hasn’t pushed to come back to us, though I’d take him if his wages demands (and signing on fee) weren’t too excessive.

Belotti has a very good long term record, bags of experience and is a fighter. He would be a brilliant addition.

I’m still very keen on Hlozek.
