Results haven’t gone our way this weekend, but things are in our hands.

I am, however, concerned about our lack of depth in the squad. Rice and Antonio are serious absentees.

1.) 11 Apr 2021 03:36:47
I think we all agree with you Marko, Moyes is still building and i'm sure he has his eyes on who he wants to sign in the summer, we are going in the right direction which we haven't done for a long time.
[The likes of big Sam who thinks staying in the premiership is good enough for WH] well Sam it wasn't.
Its been a great journey with Moyes and his backroom, let's see where he takes us, and see who arrives in the next transfer window.

2.) 11 Apr 2021 21:59:20
weekend ain't over yet markro.

10 Jan 2021 11:15:42
Some interesting Patson Daka media noise.

1.) 10 Jan 2021 14:27:46
He is some player . Would love to see us sign him.

2.) 10 Jan 2021 15:04:56
We are being linked by the media to anyone and everyone, we wait and see but not surprised if either we sign no-one or Arnie returns.

3.) 11 Jan 2021 08:07:17
exwhuemployee has said on his pateron that our main 3 targets are daka, dia and adam armstrong.

4.) 11 Jan 2021 10:29:16
I just read all the rumours on news sites and it appears we will have 5 new strikers by next week - happy days, the options we will have at our disposal is fantastic - or is this just the standard transfer window where we will get someone on the last day who was our fourth choice?

5.) 11 Jan 2021 10:42:35
I'd be happy with any of them 3.

6.) 11 Jan 2021 11:03:53
After loosing a mint on Hallar i would leave overseas players alone unless they are under 5mil. or have already have played in our Prem. or Championship.
Hallar was a big lose and it looks like we are going to take another big hit on Anderson.
We picked our best foreward AM from stoke, a lot of clubs are struggling now, its time to look in our own back yard. We can't afford another buying another 20 mil player who can't handle the English game.
Clubs look at overseas payer and the do look good in the French league but its a big gamble if they can adapt to our league Chelea have brought 3 forwards 240mil. not one of them would replace a fit Antonio,

7.) 11 Jan 2021 15:57:01
I agree Bideford, it is important Moyes and the board choose wisely. France may be a place to pick up bargains ATM but still NO guarnatee they will transition to PL. Dia and Daka have pace and LOOK like they have the physical attributes we need, and they are young and fit the "young and hungry" RedBull mantra Moyes is after. But will they transition or just be another Batshuayi?
Josh King however does offer proven PL quality though, and at the right price i think he would be a good option for us. At 28 though he will not represent much of a return on investment once he has played two years with us. While I agree (and said myself) that he has played a lot out wide in the past (worth noting if any of you look at his scoring stats), but from going to a LOT of Bmouth games (i live here and had a season ticket to accompany my nephew) i always said to my Bmouth mates that Josh is at his BEST up front and not out wide.
I really do not know enough about the others to have a worthwhile opinion, other than Youtube vids. Maybe Ed's can lend us their opinions on whether they could cut it in the PL.

{Ed001's Note - don't know anything about Dia, but Daka does look a bit special. Bit too fond of talking about how great he is going to become though, which worries me. If he was going to say Real Madrid, then that's not so much of a problem, but going to West Ham might see him agitate for a move because he thinks he is better than the Hammers. Bit like Arnautovic did etc.

As for Armstrong, I have seen a little bit of him this season, he has changed so much from when I saw him as a kid with Newcastle. So much improvement playing regular football and looks like the kind of player Moyes would work well with. I am not so sure King is, as he is too fragile, and Moyes likes his players to work hard, King would pop his hamstring. Armstrong looks a decent bet, though he is not one I would have expected Moyes to be so keen on as he looks short when I have seen him. Moyes normally likes a player, in pretty much every position, who is particularly good in the air.}

8.) 11 Jan 2021 16:56:57
He's under 6ft 5'8 i think I read which is definitely small for moyes, but needs must maybe?

{Ed001's Note - maybe he is learning to work a different way? Moyes has had a lot of time to think about things, so maybe he is evolving his football ideology a bit.}

9.) 11 Jan 2021 17:16:39
He likes the red bull model and is definitely moving to a young strong and motivated squad, maybe he has had his eyes opened to new ways, let's see shall we Ed.

10.) 12 Jan 2021 09:11:40
moyes likes the red bull model problem is you need owners to help fund that to but our owner is to busy adding his son and wife to our board of directors.

11.) 12 Jan 2021 11:28:41
Im. keeping an open mind :) forever optimistic.

08 Jan 2021 09:58:55
It’s official. Haller has gone.

1.) 08 Jan 2021 10:52:23
Yep, but what's the plan we wonder?

2.) 08 Jan 2021 12:34:36
I don’t think they will drag out finding a replacement as we’ve got a good winnable run of games coming up so we need a striker to give us the best possible chance of winning those games and maybe getting us to our best finish in the prem since it started.

3.) 08 Jan 2021 13:23:17
TBH I am delighted we are acting and not standing still in this window. Haller is still a very good footballer, BUT the guy just doesn't suit Moyes's football, and does not have the attributes we need for our system. Moyes was stubborn by not adapting slightly, but I really like to see that we are TAKING ACTION to get what Moyes wants/ needs despite taking a financial loss on Haller. Board could have easily said no we are not taking a loss this big. Credit to the BOARD and credit to MOYES. Let's hope Moyes doesn't buy another Hugill to replace him . I have faith.
I'd also like to correct fans on here who have been saying he does not work hard. You are frankly wrong in my opinion. He does work hard and run, he just doesn't have the attributes to do it the way we want/ need. For this reason I am very happy we are selling. We need PACE, and Haller simply doesn't have it. Don't ask a man to give birth!
Haller has worked hard in what has clearly been a role he cannot play, and that must be very frustrating for him but i still belive he gave it his best shot. I wish him all the best at Ajax.

19 Dec 2020 12:34:33
Zinchenko chatter.

I doubt we could afford his wages.

Versatile player though.

1.) 21 Dec 2020 09:28:17
Even if we traded Ukrainians? Sell Yarmo for Zinco?

2.) 21 Dec 2020 10:17:05
Yes, I would do that. We have enough reasonable AM strength to cope with losing Yarmo and we do need to beef up defence.

Zinchenko has played midfield too in the past.

18 Dec 2020 20:06:58
Good to see that Antonio has signed and that that the club didn’t over commit.

Good business.

Our squad has little depth.

Apart from that ludicrous 15 seconds where Dawson inexplicably lunged for a second yellow and Diop dribbled an own goal, we could have taken something from this game, but any further injuries will be seriously problematic.

1.) 18 Apr 2021 00:43:23
Pre match I was thinking a draw would be alright and then all to play for against Chelsea. A loss wasn't good but the character shown to fight back with 10 men I think means they can still keep confidence levels up which is what will be needed on the run in - but yes injuries are a real worry.

My hope is that Leicester continue their free fall and so we are playing for two spots in the top 4 along with Chelsea and Liverpool.

11 Apr 2021 18:39:54
5 of our last 7 games are against teams in the bottom 7 of the table.

We’re at home for the other 2 (Chelsea and Everton) .

1.) 12 Apr 2021 03:11:30
if we beat Newcastle next week bearing in there performances have started to improve we move up into 3rd with both Chelsea and Leicester playing in the FA cup.

2.) 12 Apr 2021 08:44:18
Yes. Another way I could have put it is that all of our remaining games are against sides below us in the table.

{Ed077's Note - that's a better way to look at things surely...

11 Apr 2021 16:15:06
I’m not sure how much more I can cope with. This team has taken years off my life recently.

28 Mar 2021 13:31:22
Orsic? Really?

1.) 28 Mar 2021 16:34:40
If we really are interested, Could that possibly mean Lingard is heading back to Utd?

Transfermarkt have him (Orsic) valued at £6.75m. After his exploits this season that'll end up closer to something daft like £25m and that's probably too much for a player who's 29 this year. Don't think we should be getting in to a bidding war with Arsenal for him to be honest.

LW and utility player, Lukas Provod from our old favourites Slavia Prague looks very decent and would be worth a look - 5 years younger and a lot less money than Orsic.

25 Mar 2021 18:38:33
Lingard starts for England tonight.

1.) 27 Mar 2021 01:28:49
Got MOM too - only watched it on my phone while working so couldn't really tell how well he played.

2.) 27 Mar 2021 09:05:40
Reports in papers saying Man U welcoming the possibility of taking Lingard back in the summer with a view of a a new contract and or extension. Hope he tells them to jog on.

3.) 28 Mar 2021 08:53:33
Morning Whitby👍 Yeah saw that on BBC Football Gossip Text myself. We shouldn’t be surprised by the impact he has had with us and regaining his England squad place!
We can just hope he may show some goodwill towards WH for revitalising his career and as you say tell ManU to “jog on”. But he is a local lad and depends on Family ties as well? ⚒⚒⚒.

We have been very lucky with Rice/ Soucek fitness, but this is a real blow
and highlights how desperately we need CM back up like Kral.

Good keeper and he wants gam time. Pope would be another of interest to us.

There is unity in the squad and back room staff.

Unsurprisingly this happens when we hear less from the owners.

Not so sure it would be that easy to list either Rice or Soucek inadequacies this season!

Don’t worry Astra Giurgiu will knock us out in the very early stages.

And then he comes on and makes the difference.

{Ed077's Note - And Greenwoods not a benchwarmer. He is the first choice RW most weeks

Thanks for your positive comments, Liverpoolmanc. It’s been a strange but brilliant season for us so far and as exciting as it gets.

Rice/ Soucek are the heart of the team and we have been lucky with their continued fitness and form.

Noble simply isn’t up to it, but what options do we have? We need CDM cover with pace and power like Kral.

Radical I know, but Fredericks might do a decent job.
