So any truth in these Carroll to Galatasaray loan rumours that have been agreed .?
Surely we´d have to have a replacement lined up if we did!

Could the replacement be Gabigol?

2.) 19 Dec 2018 19:27:07
I hope so . Him and Anderson with Arnie up top is deadly.

3.) 20 Dec 2018 09:59:49
I hope they got a big treatment table to fit him on.

4.) 20 Dec 2018 14:17:29
Gabigol certainly fits the profile of a MP player. Must trust in MP to make him a success in the Prem if he does go for him.
He is currently on less (50k) at Inter than big AC as well!
Not 100% sure anyone will pay a fee for the big man in Jan though, so maybe we should expect to see a loan deal for Carroll until end of season when he is out of contract. Then we can either do same for Gabigol with a buy option, or potentially use the funds Ironmike spoke about for a permanent purchase.

I think it makes absolute sense to offer Jack Wilshere a 1 year contract if reports are true!
Perhaps with an option for further 2 years if he proves his fitness and plays so many games!
Giving him a big 3 or 4 year contract off the bat is quite frankly a ridiculous thing to do!

1.) 25 Jun 2018 10:27:57
Costa, bang on👍 1 year no more, interesting to see if he goes the for the longest contract offered😂😂 Panicking now Wengers gone and Emery’s shown him the door, he’s not been used to that!

2.) 25 Jun 2018 11:45:36
I wonder if this is us low balling whilshere and his agent. We say 1 year, they say 3 or 4. Meet in the middle of 2 years with an extension?

3.) 25 Jun 2018 15:58:01
who in their right mind would gee him 2 years straight away? . madness!

I´m sorry but 2 fit CB´s at the club is not acceptable to me and one of those is in horrendous form!
Imagine an injury to Diop . what then?
Rice yes can go back there but has not played that role for a while now plus it leaves a huge hole in the CDM area which we have nobody to fill!
Disastrous window for me and let´s all cross our fingers and hope Diop or even Ogbonna (even if he is awful, so just a body) are not injured!

Yes we are all thinking on your lines , what a state. IRONMIKE.

It´s like deja vu. big names being touted as next manager but nothing will probably come of it and it will be either Moyes are similar!

it all has a familiar ring to it! . will no doubt happen with player transfers as well . Sullivan loves this time of year!

For me the most important position we need to fill is a Defensive Midfielder and a player who can actually pass the ball well.! also to protect our sometimes dodgy back line! . attacking players are just icing on the cake but let's address the real glaring issue first!

costahammer

1.) 19 Jan 2018 13:56:56
Dondencker fills that need.

2.) 19 Jan 2018 14:11:00
he seems to Phil but u think this lot will fork out 20m odd on him.? . i'm not so sure!

Was never going to happen! . just the usual so called ITK´s saying it´s a done deal but being royally spoofed by his agent all to drum up business and Spurs took the bait!

nothing new, standard agent behaviour!

agree.

This is a West Ham signing of the past, or so we we´re led to believe!

¨still a few years left in him¨

Now i thought that was precisely the type of player that Sullivan said we were steering away from.

He is not a box to box player with pace to burn and full of energy that we´ve needed for that last 3-4 seasons!

Not the answer for me. we need to get the age down in this team and the energy up, not keep doing the West Ham thing and sign players at the tail end of their career!

I find Lanzini frustrating, clearly he has talent but fails to deliver on a consistent basis!

Payet elevated his game and of course along with others as well in that team!

I think he tries to mimic is international team mate Messi in trying to dribble all the time which unfortunately more often than not he comes up short on!

I disagree . CM is one of the most demanding positions on the field and to even say why not Zaba cover there is a pointless conversation, i agree with you there!

If you honestly think mobility is not important in the central midfield position where your area of expanse is 18 yard box to 18 yard box and side to side then i´m stuck on what to say to you!

I played in that position and there is more running and movement involved in that area than any other on the field!

Even to say Zaba could cover there when everybody knows we need a pacy box to box midfielder with energy to burn, then well i´m lost!

costahammer

{Ed001's Note - a player that is to sit and hold does not need much mobility. I wasn't talking about a box-to-box midfielder. I was talking about cover for Rice and Noble, neither of which are capable of being box-to-box either. And if you think every central midfield player has to cover all that ground, then this is a pointless conversation. Makalele barely moved when he played midfield, he never got near the opposition box. You can play different ways to make the most of the players you have available.}

If Rice gets injured and it comes to Zaba filing in in the CM spot is the day we´re officially a banter club!
Don´t get me wrong i love Zaba but he does not have the mobility and dare i say it the experience in the middle of the park.

Can you imagine a Zaba and Noble CM pairing! . i´m not sure i could keep up with the pace of the game! . :)

costahammer

{Ed001's Note - mobility is not as important as reading the game in the centre. Mobility is far more important on the flanks if anything.}

Have never seen the appeal of Howe!
It´s a gamble. i mean his done ok but hasn´t pulled up trees that´s for sure. He hasn´t always recruited well and has had a fair transfer budget pretty much the same as West Ham, in fact i think they have had a bigger net spend than us over the last 5 seasons!

we don´t defend as a compact unit, we are way to slow in transition between attack and defense and as a result holes appear on the counter when the ball breaks down! . the personnel are wrong . you cannot have Lanzini, Fornals, Wilshere and Anderson in the same team. that´s nearly half the team with zero defensive attributes. we need grafters in there too and perhaps play more on the counter instead of gung ho especially vs the top teams!
