Any news on DR's contract situation? Surely we should just offer him whatever he wants.

whufc66

1.) 21 Jun 2018 11:21:57
Can’t give him whatever he wants BUT I’m sure this will be sorted after next week IRONMIKE.

2.) 21 Jun 2018 14:31:38
Isn´t he on holiday? . doubt anything will happen till his back anyway!

3.) 21 Jun 2018 14:36:27
"Offer him whatever he wants"!

He is a very good young player but many good 19 year-olds haven't progressed as expected.

It's Palace and Bournemouth interested in him not Man City and Real Madrid.

4.) 21 Jun 2018 15:42:11
Good spot Bill actually even those two names were made up there have been No enquiries thus far for Rice I’m sure this will be sorted next two weeks IRONMIKE.

07 Jun 2018 08:22:28
Hearing some pretty grim rumours about the size (or lack thereof) of Declan Rice's new contract. If true, then It's embarrassing. Hoping you can calm my fears? Surely Sullivan will offer him the contract he deserves.

whufc66

1.) 07 Jun 2018 09:16:59
see that aswell and i'm hoping its not true, as he has a massive future ahead of him and to lose him over a 8k pw week contract when the lad clearly deserves a big pay rise wouod be insane especially when we have sicknotes on 100k pw.

2.) 07 Jun 2018 10:10:13
Concerning Rice, I personally do not feel the board are that silly to risk losing such a big talent for money. I think there a lot more to it, Sullivan is careful shall we say about money and although very few people like him, he does know how to do business.

Even if ( playing total devils advocate) there becomes a stand off the board would offer what he wants just to keep him on a long contract and than sell him for a nice profit, that not going to happen but just an example why I can't totally believe all the stories in the media that are reporting this,

Im not saying the board are not trying to get him on the cheap, which I have no doubt they would if they could, but common sense will prevail i'm sure. and if the reports are true and they lose him over wages than they deserve all the grief they get over this total incompetence of board management. but that's not going to happen.

3.) 07 jun 2018 10:33:20
apparently frederick's is on more money than rice is it true mike he's on £3,000 week and was offered £8,000 that's championship average wage what are they playing at its become totallt embarrassing sort it out can you blame him for rejecting that i wouldn't be suprised if he doesn't sign an improved offer and moves on . coyi.

4.) 07 Jun 2018 12:09:19
It will be sorted out very soon IRONMIKE.

5.) 07 Jun 2018 16:15:04
Rice is 19 and Fredericks is 25 - and Rice has 3 years on his contract. Hasn't he been offered £16k basic rising to £30k with bonuses. It's come to something when we think that's not enough for a 19 year old with 3 years left on his contract.

25 May 2018 15:46:08
Hearing some rumours that Utd are sniffing about Arnie. Obviously you can see why clubs might be interested but surely the David's won't listen to any offers. Arnie has absolutely carried us and seems happy at the club.

I'm hoping this is just generic transfer gossip rubbish?

whufc66

1.) 25 May 2018 16:53:05
We could ask for De Gea, Martial, Rashford, Young, Matic and £50m and see what they say.

2.) 25 May 2018 17:16:35
At this time it’s just yak, there have been NO enquiries from United up to this point IRONMIKE.

3.) 25 May 2018 22:44:07
Didn’t Jose say he was unmanageable.

4.) 26 May 2018 22:31:09
If utd put a bid in then bye bye ARNAUTOVIC and would you blame him see how loyal he is then possibly adding 40% to his wages and might win medals I live in the real wold he ain't no LE TISSIER.

26 Jul 2016 23:33:46
Is this true about Tony Carr? I feel pretty angry about if it is true. How have the board justified this? Feel very unhappy about this if it is true.

whufc66

1.) 26 Jul 2016 23:57:02
just wrote same thing on banter page if this is true it's a disgrace they offered tevez 150 grand a week then got rid of someone who's given the club everything for 14 grand.

{Ed007's Note - I used to be an engineer to trade and was a foreman/manager but was active in the union too, if I remember rightly Statutory Redundancy Pay is capped at 20 years service and is also capped at circa £14,500 and/or circa £480 per week. So if you're on £60,000 p.a. and the company goes bust the maximum redundancy payment you'll get is £14,500. All the old boys working the tools that go on about 30 years service if there's redundancies are needing to read up on this stuff. The figures might have changed a bit but it won't be by anything drastic.
I'm not saying what WHU have done is right btw, but to me it looks like they have paid Carr the minimum the are required to by law - if the stories are true.}

2.) 27 Jul 2016 00:46:48
Yeh I'm sure they've got it right legally ed, just morally they've got it Completly wrong if you ask me.

{Ed007's Note - Oh it's stinking mate and shows a distinct lack of class from whoever took the decision. When you think of the money the guy's made the club over the years, WHU will have young players making £14k a week who'll probably never kick a ball in anger for you. £14k doesn't even buy Carr a boozer, wee cottage in the country or a villa in the sun, after 40 odd years service he at least deserves something like that. Not to mention the money flying around the English game in general.
Are the fans kicking up about it to the club? Send them an e-mail telling them how you feel, even if it does nothing I always like to make sure someone at Celtic reads my rants lol Do you have an SLO (Supporters Liaison Officer), ours does a fantastic job of dealing with things and being a bridge between the fans and club.}

3.) 27 Jul 2016 02:10:17
I had a massive rant earlier on the banter page about everythings that's been going on with the club and how disappointed, frustrated and embarrassed I am. I come home tonight and see this news about Tony Carr? They won't be be getting a penny out of me this season! I won't be getting my kit which I normally get about this time and no tickets to that make shift stadium!

4.) 27 Jul 2016 07:23:05
Yes that is bad about Carr. Its probably not down to Gold Sullivan as they are older men too but it smacks of Brady.

5.) 27 Jul 2016 08:02:57
Wow, that's a shocker about Tony Carr. So much for the "Academy of football" eh!

This off season is turning into an absolute shambles. Scatter gun approach for striker which we are only going to get if he is on loan. The usual "Pinch Every Single Penny we can" philosophy is back and now Terry Carr is released FOR £14k REALLY! I Bet I've spent that in the 48 years I've supported West Ham!

6.) 27 Jul 2016 09:47:36
Do you think Carr didn't agree with club buying youth players aka samuelson so they just thought best to get rid not that I agree with it.

7.) 27 Jul 2016 10:30:53
This is disgusting, embarrassing, and dam right out of order, Ok he was paid a salary for 40 years but come on, the man is a legend, it makes me sick that we offer all these millions and hundreds of thousands a week for Un proven players and can't even look after our own . I do expect with the public outcry the DGS will look at this and if they don't well my estimation of how they run the club will be destroyed, hopefully they do the right thing, everyone who feels the same way should get on twitter especially to Jack Sullivan as he can relay this back or Karen Brady or David Gold bombard them with our disapproval, I always thought WH was a family club who looks out for there own,

8.) 27 Jul 2016 11:32:48
like most people I was angered by this when I first read it, but I'll wait to hear club statement before I rant too much I hope they do something at the new stadium to honour the work he's done.

9.) 27 Jul 2016 01:24:54
I know some of the supportors have set up a fund for him already, to be honest he should be given a testamonial if you ask me after the amount of moaning the supportors have been doing over lack of signings this could end up as a bit of a PR disaster for the club to be honest

talking of celtic I thought I recognised your profile picture taken outside paradise if I'm not mistaken.

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate, you're spot on.}

10.) 27 Jul 2016 12:24:19
I think before everyone jumps at what tabloids write it might be worth seeing if the club or Carr make a statement. His role was changed last year and who knows what bonuses and things he has gotten. Because the redundancy was statutory it doesn't mean he may not have been rewarded last year for example when his role really finished and he was moved upstairs.

06 May 2016 14:14:29
Any substance to these Michy Batshuayi rumours? Is the Payet link likely to factor in?

whufc66

{Ed002's Note - Marseille has spoken to Juventus, Valencia and Chelsea about Michy Batshuayi whilst numerous clubs have attended Marseille games this season to watch him and others. Interest of Lyon, Porto, Milan, Monaco and Benfica has seemingly moved on for now due to the price and other issues. Atletico were still hedging their bets over a move by Griezmann and have probably waited too long for the Griezmann situation to be resolved. Arsenal has had long-term interest as have Spurs and Roma, and whilst none can be discounted from making an offer in the summer but the player may be sold but not on the open market. We need to wait and see. Whilst Marseille do not want to sell (and have signed him to a contract extension) and the player wants to stay, a summer move is still looking likely whilst management, financial and ownership issues continue to be the prime focus of the club at the moment. Interest of West Ham and Leicester is known to Marseille but it has gone no further. Juventus interest was to be dependent on Morata but they have, during discussions over another player, put a very attractive package on the table that could end all speculation of a sale on the open market this summer. Firm interest of Dortmund is known to Marseille but a request for a meeting has been shunned for now whilst Marseille address other major issues as a priority- and again there is a dependency on what happens with another player, in this case Aubameyang. But is may well be a matter beyond Dortmund now. In recent discussions with a major European side over the transfer of another player, Batshuayi was discussed and a tentative agreement reached if he were to become available.}

Terrible news coming in this morning? What the hell is going on? What does this mean - if found guilt are we facing points deduction? Relegation?

whufc66

1.) 26 Apr 2017 17:11:56
If we are guilty of anything could the punishment be a transfer embargo as the investigation is to do with transfers?

Any truth to these Bony rumours? I would take him in a heart beat. Is this actually happening or is it just paper/ twitter nonsense?

whufc66

18 Aug 2016 21:18:22
Well - that was painful to watch. But look on the brigthside - we are mirroring last year's performances in Europe so does that mean it's going to be just as successful a season? Course it does.

Well - West Ham never make it easy and that's why we love them eh?

whufc66

1.) 18 Aug 2016 21:54:32
Very worrying, two very very poor performances. No fight, no drive, no movement, ball played backwards all the time. Can't think of one player who performed tonight.

2.) 19 Aug 2016 08:28:23
Tore is the Turkish equivalent of Matt jarvis.

3.) 19 Aug 2016 09:25:56
i agree with you Rowe. Tore has looked incredibly poor and off the pace. But there were very (emphasis on the very) occasional moments we he looked fairly dangerous. He beat a couple of guys round the back and floated a couple of nice balls in. If AC had been on the end of it we would all be laughing.

But I do agree - he is pretty poor.

28 Jul 2016 09:51:20
This 'Tesco Stadium' business must be a wind up right? Surely no self-respecting football club can call its stadium 'Tesco Stadium'. I honestly don't care about the money - we need to keep our identity and dignity.

whufc66

1.) 28 Jul 2016 13:19:42
Dignity has been flushed down the toilet after this summer and slowly losing identity along with the rest of the country.

2.) 28 Jul 2016 14:13:24
What do you mean when you say the country is losing its identity?

3.) 28 Jul 2016 16:28:14
Highest bid wins right? Not sure we'd have the right to veto even if we wanted to, think we only get a slice of the money after the 1st 4m. Get the retorts ready we are going to get all sorts of abuse over this!

15 May 2016 16:58:29
I am absolutely fuming that we didn't win the game. No where near clinical enough. We should have by 6 or 7 goals. Really sad not to have got 6th.

whufc66

1.) 15 May 2016 17:06:04
Devastated. We are really suffering for the want of a top-class finisher. Really hope we can get Lacazette in the summer. I fear that we might live to rue not having won this game and the Swansea game. Not just for the sake of attracting top talent, but for holding onto what we've got! : (

Sakho and Randolph need to go. The former lacks the attitude and the ability to be a top-class striker. Eminike has only the attitude in his favour, I fear.

2.) 15 May 2016 17:13:41
I agree that we should have won, should of been 3-0 up at half time sakho missed a sitter and two cleared of the line, lady luck was nowhere to be seen today, but I'm not going to moan we have had a great season and let's just hope Man U win the cup and then we're in Europa.

3.) 15 May 2016 17:17:26
hiya mate I think everyone an now see why we need a proven goalscorer so badly now, unbelievable we didn't win that game still can't see palace beating manure so we will still be in Europa league next year.

4.) 15 May 2016 17:42:57
We defiantly need a couple of top strikers and a few others but I think this season has been great and as we are entering a new era I think this season is a great start, we have broke points record also unbeaten run played some great football along the way said goodbye to the old girl in style and had some great wins. I am one proud hammer who'll on next season coyi.

5.) 15 May 2016 18:13:34
Today showed how desperate we are for a couple of strikers that can put the ball away but no complaints great season and surely we can only get better. Another decent goalie a rb a decent winger and strikers.

6.) 16 May 2016 13:50:46
Really suprised to see some people wanting rid of sakho he had an off day against stoke but over all I think he has proved his worth. I would keep sakho and carroll and ship out valencia and emineke and if we do find this elusive 20 goal a season striker whoever it is I think we will have really decent forwards for slav to alternate and play as and when.

Phil - can I please ask what the hell is going on? I simply do not understand the lack of activity. We need to sign some players. At the moment - all we do is leak transfer rumours about our underbidding on players and then those players go sign for another club.

Obviously I am not in any sort position to know what's going on but it seems to me that there is a massive lack of leadership when it comes to identifying transfer targets and then capitalising on those targets.

It's difficult not to get frustrated bu this.

DGS would be out of their mind to let Antonio go. It would be an incredibly poor decision to let our best performing player leave. I think that Batshuayi on loan would be an extremely good signing, and if we could get Hogan aswell I would be delighted. Our best two signings of recent years (Antonio and Cresswell) have come from the championship. They understand English football and therefore thrived in the prem.

I understand what your saying Mike. Calleri should have sunk those chances but his movement is better than I think you are giving him credit for. Give him time. Fletcher has such incredible potential. Tore was poor tonight - his delivery wast good enough. But my god the ref didn't help us. Clear penalty, Antonios goal should have stood - the defender just fell over, tore was hacked down all over the place. I may just be bitter but honestly the ref couldn't have ruined the game more. I'm incredibly disappointed - don't get me wrong. But when our players come back - we will be a different team. I promise you. Let's hope we wrap Zaza up and he makes himself a hero.

I agree with all of the above - Byram and Arthur have done well yesterday. I really like Arthur, I think he can be a great player for us.

I was actually quite impressed with Fletcher and Calleri when they came on. It's a shame Calleri missed the chance at the end - would have been great boost for him on the premier league and home debut. I showed great composure though despite the miss. Some of his distribution was excellent too.

At the end of the day - we got the points. Really important game - well done the lads.
