Further to Peanut66 asking why we haggle over transfers. I totally understand trying to get a bargain and bidding lower, but we've done it so many times and then ended up losing out you think we would have learned by now. We come back to the same old issue with us making derisory bids for players. Just look at what's currently going on. Brentford made it quite clear that they want £15m for Hogan. We bid £10m, refused. We bid £12m, refused. Hull are rumoured to have said they value Snodgrass at £9m (who by the way I reckon would be a great addition with Lanzini) . We bid a shocking £3m, rejected. We've now bid £5m and that will also be rejected. Toulose value Braithwaite at £15m I belive so we bid £8.5m. A common theme developing here! Simple ain't it. Sell Payet, ogbonna and Feghouli then get Bathshuyai, Snodgrass and Martial, Tripper and Iorfa

Hi Phil

Obviously transfers are complicated things which to be honest i'm not sure how many levels of procedure you have to go through, as in agent fees etc etc, but what does strike me with the DGS is everything seems to be so long winded and seems to take an age to go through, where other teams seem to get things done, maybe its because we seem to know in advance from the various sources on the site who we are looking at, i'm unsure but it always seems our transfers just drag on and on

Not sure why but I agree that our transfers seem to drag on. Seems Bathshuyai is new flavour of the month but may involve Antonio going the other way!

DGS would be out of their mind to let Antonio go. It would be an incredibly poor decision to let our best performing player leave. I think that Batshuayi on loan would be an extremely good signing, and if we could get Hogan aswell I would be delighted. Our best two signings of recent years (Antonio and Cresswell) have come from the championship. They understand English football and therefore thrived in the prem.

I have to admit that we have struggled for goals this season and our strikers have been quite a let down. Based on that I would have thought that if we were getting players in January we would at least have had a striker before the Palace game this weekend (which could make or break SB's future) . Unless of course the owners are waiting to see what happens over the next two games and then they may move for a new manager who may identify different targets. Just a thought!
