Hi all, I have read all your comments about recent performances and thought I would chip in.
I am seriously worried about Noble, he is starting to look second rate and SB now has a problem in deciding whether he can drop his Captain. I am also concerned about how we are playing because I really don't like this counter attacking strategy at home games, teams will work us out and we will start losing, then what happens when the confidence goes. If teams like Norwich, Crystal Palace, Leicester and Bournemouth can make a game of it by going forward, why can't we? Well happy to be 3rd at this point, but can't help feeling that we are "getting away with it" rather than earning it.

Have to agree with you ClothCap. He can't keep making mistakes which we end up being punished for and he does it too many times. SB is going to have to make a decision on him soon because this is untenable

2.) 29 Sep 2015 09:39:29
Slaven will see it all and if there needs to be action, I think it will come, dropping Noble will jolt Jenkinson, Cresswell for instance who are also making these sloppy mistakes.

When Song is back, well even now, Antonio is chomping to get on am sure, its tough decisions for Bilic, but I have faith and am sure he's going to make it happen. coyi.

It just keeps getting better and better, now Maiga has done a runner and is AWOL.

ClothCap

1.) 27 Aug 2015 18:46:18
maiga has been AWOL since he joined us clothcap hehe

2.) 27 Aug 2015 19:00:54
Maiga was given the green light to go to Saudi to complete his transfer to his new club. He isn't awol at all. He's in Saudi

3.) 27 Aug 2015 19:07:15
haha brilliant, couldn't make it up! Well I'm glad he has done a runner, we need him to sign on the dotted before they come to their senses and pull out.

4.) 27 Aug 2015 21:02:32

Hearing that Spuds and Southampton are looking at Mirallas, you just know what's going to happen don't you!
Do you know anything about this Ed's?

{Ed002's Note - I haven't but it doesn't mean they are not interested.}

Hi all, been away for a few days and missed all the goings on. Just read through all the posts and had a look at highlights of the games. Not surprised SB not happy about defense, 6 WH players and not one challenged for the header, and an over the top ball (allerdyce style) made us look like amateurs.
Regards the prospect of Balotelli, he spends far to long looking in the mirror telling himself how wonderful he is, I would rather have Borini.
Great news about Agbonna joining and I am hoping we can get Destro, I think he would be a good fit.
Biggest concern is Jenks and some cover for him, this one is starting to worry me.
Thanks IRONMIKE for all your updates, I will be watching closely.

My friend is a Man U fan (and yes, he does live in Manchester)and he keeps telling me that WH have made numerous inquiries about Hernandez. With Falcao gone and Van Persie seemingly on his way I would have thought that Hernandez would be wanted at Man U, but apparently Van Gaal doesn't rate him and is keen to cash in.
Anybody know anything . IronMike????

Hernandez broke his collar bone last week playing for Mexico.

I don't like our current situation any more than everyone else, however, Lots of posters on this site have very short memories. It was only a 3 weeks ago posters were apolagising to DGS and saying what a great window we had and that they had bought some real quality, now they are beating them to death . IT IS NOT DGS THAT ARE THE PROBLEM HERE, we DO have a good squad, the problem is the manager and coaching team seem to have no real plan, we have no shape, no confidence and continuously play people out of position, there is no quicker way to lose the dressing room and piss players off. DON'T BLAME DGS too much, it ain't easy to sack a manager, and it ain't easy to replace him with a better one. I bet if we win the next couple of games the whole atmosphere will change.

ClothCap

1.) 01 Sep 2017 10:29:19
Cloth I know what your saying but it was the DGS who have FAILED to bring in at least 2 players in the positions required.

Yes SB does look bewilderd but if your going to keep him, back him and give him the tools he needs, I personally think the time has come for him to step aside, BUT if the clowns decide to keep him they should have backed him, if they want rid of him at least give him enough rope to hang himself. WHICH THEY HAVE NOT. THIS WINDOWS HAS BEEN AS OTHERS A JOKE. THE ONLY PEOPLE TO BLAME HERE IS THE 2 CLOWNS.

26 Aug 2017 17:00:46
Adrian is better than Hart, Byram is better than Zabletta, Noble is out of his depth, we can't tackle, we can't shoot, we can't defend, we don't know how to handle being pressed, none of the players seem to have any confidence, we don't seem to know what we are doing, we can only play backwards and sideways, and we are seriously lacking ideas. As a supporter of SB it saddens me to say he has to go RIGHT NOW!

ClothCap

1.) 26 Aug 2017 20:38:17
Totally agree Clothcap but you forgot to say the old couple living across the road are fitter than anyone of our team!

26 Aug 2016 21:16:13
OK here goes with the reality check.
I read the posts on this site every single day but don't write my own very often because anyone who dares to disagree with IRONMIKE seems to get trod on, however, I do appreciate and enjoy your posts IRONMIKE I just wish you were a bit more humble and accepting of other peoples opinions. so here is mine: we all think we are experst and know best, but we dont, that's why SB is the manager and not any of us, it is a well known fact that new signings can and often do take weeks or months to settle into a new club and a new country and produce their best form so give the new boys a chance eh. Yes we should have played with more pace and passion in the first half on Thursday night but let's get used to the idea that EVERY team that comes to our new home is going to have the same game plan, defend with nine or ten men behind the ball and hit us on the break, that is the reality for the rest of the season and beyond, we are a scalp now and we need to get used to it. It is really difficult to break down well organised teams who play that way no matter how good you think you are. GET USED TO IT GUYS. Personally I hate European football with all the playacting and crap refs so I am glad were out, but the whinging on this site is making us sound like gooners for christs sake. Come of fellas, get a grip, were only two games in.

ClothCap

1.) 26 Aug 2016 21:36:17
ClothCap, what a voice of reason you are! I like you read this site everyday and relish the updates but feel everything you have said is bang on! Would love to see Bony in Claret and Sky though .

2.) 26 Aug 2016 22:24:09
we have actually played 6 competetive games this year, not 2 and I really have to say how are we a scalp because we got to quater final of FA cup and finished 7th in the league? Accrington might see us s a major scalp but I dout any team in the premier league thinks of us in the same ilk as man u or chelski

we were never going to breakdown a team when at home playing with a defensive midfielder as you point out teams like that come to defend so our formation was wrong in my eyes.

3.) 26 Aug 2016 22:43:41
Cloth Cap, your being very hard on me! Everybody on this site has an opinion which I always respect BUT I don't have to agree with, and they don't have to agree with. me I'm not always right NOBODY is principally because football changes so fast, it's difficult to pin things sometimes, when you get there it's moved on i'm Sure you get the picture, regards IRONMIKE.

4.) 26 Aug 2016 23:18:33
I believe the posters point has just been proved.

5.) 27 Aug 2016 08:03:21
I rest my case.

At the risk of being a "killjoy" I think we should all lower our expectations for Tuesday night. The hype and emotion of the occasion is likely to get to the players and the fans (i will probably end up sobbing like a baby) and the result we all desperately want is unlikely to happen. BUT, that should not stop us from having a really good old knees up. Nothing can ever take away all the wonderful memories I have of the Boleyn, but progress means out with the old and in with the new. let's live the dream, COYI.

ClothCap

1.) 09 May 2016 11:19:18
Sorry, but I don't want to hear this rollover stuff, IF we are to become abig player, in time to come, WH will face pressure games on a regular basis' that's what success means and delivers, man United have lived with it long enough, as have Chelsea, city' liverpool arsenal etc, it's time for west ham to do the same, IRONMIKE.

2.) 09 May 2016 11:49:27
Totally agree with you IRONMIKE and I think we learned on Saturday that consistency is Key whether its a pressure game or not. Too many times in the past we've succumbed when the chips are down. OK, we're getting better, but we still let ourselves down on the big occasion.

If we want to be at the top we have to get better at handling pressure. Teams that are successful (especially in the premier league) are teams that handle the big games the best, but also manage to churn out a result when they play poorly, a lesson we need to learn because there are times we will underperform. We also need (when we play well) to learn how to put teams that play poorly against us to the sword "A La Man Utd" used to. Teams knew they could well be in for a hammering for kick off!

Look at Leicester this season and how many games (on the run did they win 1-0).

3.) 09 May 2016 12:15:38
I agree with all the above posts. But who knows what will happen on Tuesday night. Saturday was the worst performance I've seen all season and it really took me by surprise. Credit to Swanswea though - I thought they were excellent. And extremely clinical. Our defence was shaky throughout and are final ball/ finishing was way off. We had enough chances in the game but somehow never really looked like getting back in to the match

Tuesday night will be special. Let's make it the celebration it should be and fingers crossed we get a result aswell.

4.) 09 May 2016 14:35:19
Absolutely, COYI.

5.) 09 May 2016 18:25:30
Man U fan in peace gents. Can't wait to be at the game tomorrow night for a proper good game of footy under the lights and will be a priveledge to be at your final home game. I know many of my fellow United fans coming feel the same. I just hope LVG doesn't strangle the life out of it! Oh and we need 3 points too!

6.) 10 May 2016 10:46:51
Hi Eric79

Thanks for comment. Think it'll be a highly charged emotional evening for thousands of IRONS fans out there. History in the making and a privilege to say our farewells to a ground we called home, but onwards and upwards if we want to compete at the top.

Gonna be one heck of a night. Oh, and I don't think you'll get your 3 points cause we need them aswell.

Oh dear, not going to start whinging after one rare defeat but SB got it wrong today, Antonio was immense yet again and should not be playing at right back when we have a perfectly good one sitting on the bench. Hope Tuesday goes better than today. COYI!

Well said WS, could not have put it better myself. I agree with everything you say, it is common sense and is what is best for the team and the performances to do what we do best . support our team!

Whilst I agree with your sentiments, you have to remember that the only reason we have the kind of spending power to bid for big players is because of the new stadium. Like it or not football is a business and we would not be in the position we are now to bid for top players if we had stayed at Upton Park. I have very fond memories of the place, my dad used to sit me on his shoulders at the back of the old west enclosure, I watched Moore, Hurst, Peters, Sissons, Byrne, and all that came after them, I have reluctantly accepted that the new stadium is a necessity of the modern game but hope one day we will have a proper stadium again.

Ayew does not know the meaning of the work loyalty and can't be trusted. Benteke is good when he's on form but we need a clever goal scorer that can deal with the likes of Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross trying it wrestle them to the ground, someone with a real goal scorers brain that has the knack of being in the right place at the right time. 30Million is an awful lot of money to spend on someone who has never played in the EPL and will always be a gamble, it has to be the right player for that kind of dough.

Brilliant display of determination and skill. don't care what anyone says about west brom, that was a tough fixture and we blasted it.
Now let's give Upton Park the farewell it deserves, let's take the roof off and save the builders a job.

Agree, much needed result and for once I thought the ref had a really good game.
I am concerned about our defence more than anything else, we still have that habit of standing off and letting teams come at us and big holes start to appear in all the wrong places, it seems to have been that way for years. Don't know why or what the answer is.
What a great season though, if you had offered me this back in August I would have ripped your arm off.
Onwards and upwards!

Spot on Mike, why did we keep hitting high balls against a team of giants, we hardly won a header all day, it was obvious that it was the Carroll illness again. Two poor defensive errors cost us two goals and we did not have a plan B just like it was with BFS. I really hope this is just a one off. We are going to lose a few games at some point, but playing well and losing is one thing, today was as you quite rightly say, HORRIBLE.
