Anyone else thinking we would be better off with a firing on all cylinders Benteke and Andre Ayew than a £38m Lacazette? Especially if we could lose Valencia aswell.

Personally, I'd rather have Benteke and Ayew than just Lacazette.

If £38 million is indeed what Lyon are insisting upon and we could sign Benteke for £20 million and Andre Ayew for £15 million, I think the two of them would be a much better option for West Ham.

Am the complete opposite mate.
Would rather pay the extra to get Lacazette rather than Benteke and Ayew.
Ayew got 12 goals in 34 games, not exactly prolific and I've seen Benteke put some awful performances in this season.
Lacazette is young and knows where the goal is. If he is available, and we have the funds, 1 world class striker i
Trumps 2 poor ones.

I think benteke better than what people saying about him look at villa when he was there compared to when he left just shows his goals counted for something.

Would rather have ayew and ben yedder all day long benteke not needed we got carrol for that already why waste 20 mill on the same kind of player.

Ayew does not know the meaning of the work loyalty and can't be trusted. Benteke is good when he's on form but we need a clever goal scorer that can deal with the likes of Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross trying it wrestle them to the ground, someone with a real goal scorers brain that has the knack of being in the right place at the right time. 30Million is an awful lot of money to spend on someone who has never played in the EPL and will always be a gamble, it has to be the right player for that kind of dough.

I'll be honest I think Benteke is getting some stick at the moment that isn't necessarily deserved. He is obviously going to be behind Sturridge at Liverpool and he is clearly a confidence player. His minute to goal ratio for Liverpool shows he scores approx. 1 in 2 games (over the course of a season, getting regular minutes, that is potentially your 20 goal a season striker) . Considering he wasn't starting many games, that's pretty good. Liverpool also don't play to his strengths, and given a starting position for us I think he'd quickly find the form he showed at Villa.

I see the point made about loyalty with Ayew. He joined Swansea last summer and is already mentioning he might leave. But again, 12 in 34 games for a wide midfielder isn't a bad return. I'd certainly rather have him than someone like Walcott.

If Lyon are looking to get close to £40 million for a striker that has no premier league experience, I think that poses a little bit to higher risk. As someone else said below, if he comes in and hen gets injured. We have a problem. That's my opinion.

Bony is a decent player, that again hasn't got the minutes since joining Manchester City that we could potentially go for.

Going a little off topic, I know we are still looking at Tore for the wide option, but does anyone think it'd be worth going for Sigurdsson from Swansea? I know he tends to play more central, but I like the fact Lanzini and Payet have interchanged this season in the attacking positions, Sigurdsson has a good goal scoring pedigree from midfield and chips in with a couple of assists as well.

Sigurdsson not a bad shout I still think we are only in position to buy the best players from mid table teams still not going to attract star names need a good season in the Olympic stadium for that to happen.
