According to BBC West Ham are targeting striker Willian Jose (Real Sociadad) - 9 goals in 20 appearances this season - anyone got any views on this?

SO DID Vincent. Jansen whom WH tried hard to get, he opted for Spurs, thank goodness for that. Enough said, ITS VERY HARD to call when predicting how someone will do in the premier league, it's a different pace and physicality to most other leagues, regards IRONMIKE.

Some of our fans were desperate to sign Hogan, I know he got a bad one the other night, and I don't wish that on anyone, but he's hardly setting the place alight is he? We need to make the right decision about our strike targets, personally I'd prefer to try and resurrect Bony's career.

3.) 22 Feb 2017 08:00:07
I think we need to be re-evaluating what our scouts are doing because some of the crap they are identifying is shocking.

4.) 22 Feb 2017 08:00:37
Does anyone know what's happened to William Bony?

5.) 22 Feb 2017 08:03:25
And yes, I know its Wilfried Bony who is out of favour at Stoke and his attitude has come into question. Could we go for him and get him back to his best with regular football. He's strong and can take a hit could be ideal or will we waste £25m+ on Sturridge who will break a toe nail in the first month and be out for the season.

6.) 22 Feb 2017 08:24:41
I'm not sure Bony is a viable choice Phil. I see what you are saying about "made of glass Sturridge" especially considering we have two injury prone forwards in Carroll and Salho already. However Bony is on substantially higher wages than anyone in our current squad, and he ha been terrible since moving to stoke. It'd be a costly gamble in my opinion because he looks perfectly happy sitting in the bench and collecting his monumental salary each week.

My main two striker targets this year would be Andre Gray from Burnley and Iheanacho from Man City.

I would also like to see us go for Dominic Solanke, he is leaving Chelsea at the end of the season after failing to agree terms and has a very bright future if he reaches his potential.

{Ed002's Note - West Ham would not meet Solanke's wage demands.}

7.) 22 Feb 2017 10:08:56
50k a week he want Is that true.

{Ed002's Note - Which is why Chelsea has no interest in him staying.}

8.) 22 Feb 2017 12:46:09
Hiya peters regarding your post on William Jose I said three months ago we should look at him having watch him numerous times he looks top drawer I don't think he's a 25 goal a season striker but 15-20 probably it he makes a lot of awaits and his ability to hold the ball and bring others into play is very good so for about 15-20 million I think we'd stand a chance, the only downside is he hasn't been at sociedad for very long and he's a crowd favourite.

9.) 22 Feb 2017 14:26:57
I like the idea of Iheanacho or Chicharito both would be even better.

10.) 22 Feb 2017 14:27:53
forgetting his injury record, Sturridge talent wise is by far the best striker we have a realistic chance of his goal record in Prem league and at international level speak for themselves, I would have liked to see bony get chance last summer wouldn't touch him with a barge pole now on massive wages and clearly can't be bothered

by the way we have never had a 20 goal a season striker since prem league begun di canio has been closest with 16 think cottee was our last in top flight in 86-87, Everton haven't had one since gary lineker that's how hard it is to get a top striker just saying.

11.) 22 Feb 2017 16:16:52
Citeh would be willing to part company with Iheanacho with a buy back clause?

According to repts I have read Kaldirim's agent (his dad) is in UK and may possibly havevspoken to WH already, Bilic knows him from when he coached at Bezekas. Celtic are also after him but he would prefer PremShip. Out of contract in summer, he does not want a new one, and although he would be on a free then we might get him now for a nominal

I really fear Mario will be our only signing this window, dithering Dave will not sign Deondoncker and we will be given all sorts of excuses for the lack of signings and if by some miracle we stay up will then be placated with promises of a big clear out and rebuild in the summer. WHAT CHANCE OF THOSE PROMISES BEING MET?

Mario on the bench v Wigan today, if he didn't realise the size of the task facing him before he does now! Is he wondering what on earth he has let himself in for? Although I am trying to he patient can't help feeling all this dithering getting signings over the line will eventually mean we only make the one signing and it may not be enough if other teams around us strengthen while we pontificate!

It's the way our board work my friend.

2.) 27 Jan 2018 19:27:08
Apparently some supporters approached the owners after the game outside the stadium, and was asked to sign some players Sullivan replied “who should we sign” and the supporter said Shelvey Sullivan said “he’s useless”, what do we think of that?

3.) 27 Jan 2018 20:00:43
Web is going into meltdown over it not good and really not the actions you would expect from anyone in a position of responsibility but as long as we keep lining their pockets they are happy 😠.

Sorry if I appear to be on the anti Carroll bandwagon but I get so frustrated at the amount he is paid yet he is so unreliable and hardly plays these days. Why am I not surprised he is currently claiming to be injured but nothing showing up on a scan? I read a report recently that in his effort to get a transfer to the Blues he states he wants more playing time! If this is true then should I laugh or cry! Get rid to the Blues for as much as we can rather than go to a team we might be in direct competition with.

1.) 18 Jan 2018 09:52:44
PeterS. IMO he wants to be first choice no matter if its for the good of the team or not.

OK if Chelsea came calling and he had the chance of CL football than maybe fair enough why he wants to go. BUT SHOW A BIT OF LOYALTY to the board and fans who have stuck by him when his been injured which is most of his West ham career.

To try push this through is an absolute disgrace, he should just wait and see what WH want to do and go from there, not take matters into his own hands . Tosser no respect for him now.

2.) 18 Jan 2018 10:50:57
I think you are both right, the amount of faith we have had as fans in him over the years has slowly been eroded with all his 'injuries' completely selfish bloke.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 22:29:18
Is he trying to force a move through? I haven’t read or heard anything like that in the media lads.

After that poor performance losing 2-3 to Newcastle what players in their right mind would choose to join us now?

Further to my previous re any hope for Sturridge, I see he is listed on the bench for the match at Liverpool, so unless he's not there it seems not tonight!
