I'm no architect so wouldn't know how to do it but COULD the London stadium be redeveloped to be a football ground? Or would it need a complete rebuild?

1.) 06 Sep 2017 12:51:21
I'm hoping it can be done as uk athletics are considering moving to a purpose built stadium in Birmingham therefore leaving us to maybe redevelop the London stadium, watch this space, (but we do need a team to play in it first) .

2.) 06 Sep 2017 14:12:44
Haha true stevie, I wonder if any plans are out there ( for both) lol lol.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 15:18:56
Phil parks was saying that West Ham should've built a proper football stadium on land between the A13 and A25 which would've had enough space for shopping complex, hotels etc, he could be right, but David Sullivan Jr. has said it is still possible that his dad could buy the stadium outright, (believe it when I see it) and Frank Mcavennie has said they should sell the club and leave the stadium for a purpose built one elsewhere, so there's a few that are not happy with the stadium situation at the moment but your guess is as good as mine as to what will happen.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 16:18:33
I remember a feed ago that the old West Ham post office site was touted as a possible new ground site but it never happend . Who could finance a new ground? What they cost? 300m more less?

5.) 06 Sep 2017 16:36:46
They was going to buy the Olympic stadium at first with the help of Newham council before Herne and Levy put a stop to it so they must be able to finance it.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 17:00:00
I heard they WAS looking at the land where the lakeside hammers race near the shopping centre.
We need a ground just for US not to share with athletics or concerts or for anything else, upton park was our home and its just not the same we need a new place to call home to look to the future.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 19:50:46
I do believe that we will sell the club within 3-5 years and hopefully to a billionaire who could take us to next level like citeh, we do need a home, Upton park was a special place and it'll take time to ever replace that were ever we end up.

8.) 07 Sep 2017 07:07:31
Regards the stadium, it would easy to convert into a football couldren!

The roof is in place, and with the running track gone, it would just be a matter of re-profiling the stands to a steeper angle.

Everyone would be closer to the pitch, and the atmosphere would crank up a few gears.

Add a few more bars, and a smoking terrace, and it would be the best in Europe!

9.) 07 Sep 2017 10:17:46
With the biggest screen in Europe!

10.) 07 Sep 2017 10:24:55
It would be an impressive stadium and it needs to be done but we have to buy it outright and make it our home if that's the plane.

11.) 07 Sep 2017 13:44:16
It's actually much harder than that.

The roof only extends to cover the current stand positions in 'football mode' so wouldn't be suitable if the stands were nearer the pitch.

The angle of the lower stands is shallow already so changing the rake if brought forward (and with the roof sorted) would make them more shallow not steeper. The rear stands are fixed so would need totally demolishing to re-angle.

The current ground will never be a football only stadium as if purpose built. Sad but true.

12.) 07 Sep 2017 19:24:20
Shame really because if we do want to grow then a bigger stadium is needed . I know a lot of people have said there piece in the move and Miss UP and want to go back ( if still there ) but don't forget that 20000 more West Ham fans can now see there team play! They have a voice too and should be allowed to voice it . Personally I would like a proper football designed ground but in the meantime I will enjoy going and supporting home and away :) now then let's beat hfield and kick on:) :) :)

13.) 07 Sep 2017 22:52:25
Its awesome that more fans come to watch but its not OUR home and never will be, if we moved to our own purpose built stadium which was made to be intimidating and feel like home like upton park then none of us would have a problem, this is all a cash train for the davids before they sell and they have sold our club and history down the river, i'm a season ticket holder and will support the team whoever plays and will continue to do so but this is not my west ham as I knew it.

14.) 08 Sep 2017 13:36:25
if we were to buy the ground we could copy Barcelona and have the pitch below ground level. That way we could create a whole now lower tier and all tiers/ rows would be on the same angle or rake from top to bottom. I imagine it would be bloody expensive to do and the back rows would be further from the pitch, but would surely be cheaper than starting again somewhere else?!

Could even copy Barcelona with the stadium name. the Newham Camp?!?!

15.) 10 Sep 2017 06:00:37
I agree Joe the only way to improve the stadium would be to lower the pitch but then there's also the matter of the roof. Massive project!

Mike another day ticks by . any word from Lisbon? How was Monaco ed?

{Ed002's Note - Monaco was the same as it always is, busy and pleasant warm weather in the evenings. It doesn't ever change much - I have lived there on and off for getting on for 20 years.}

1.) 25 Aug 2017 16:08:38
Who are you, in terms of WHU/ football, ed?

{Ed002's Note - I'm Ed002. I thought that was clear. Rodeo clown and part time gentleman adventurer.}

2.) 25 Aug 2017 16:17:55
Ed you are a star :) hope u have room for your rodeo bull in Monaco, space is tight there :) :)

21 Aug 2017 17:53:35
Any update on the Portugal situation Mike? Still talking or the 'delegation' spending the expense money? πŸ™‚.

28 Jul 2017 11:45:37
Lanzini knee injury? Any info? Not skullduggery I'm hoping.

17 Jul 2017 20:39:03
How it go with mr hart today? Not seen an official announcement yet?

1.) 17 Jul 2017 20:49:48
West Ham sitting on it for a reason? IRONMIKE.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 20:50:24
Was thinking the same, they're dragging this announcement out?

3.) 17 Jul 2017 21:32:49
Multiple announcement?

4.) 17 Jul 2017 21:35:58
Triple signing Mike?

5.) 17 Jul 2017 21:52:49
Maybe they will get the best China out and an official Fan Faye going all this takes time.

6.) 17 Jul 2017 22:18:05
Can I just say ( Phil will vouch ) that before I go back to my zen garden . I'm not stressed! Honest.

See Everton being generous with tickets! Initial allocation only 1700! That’s poor hope we can get more tickets .

02 Oct 2017 12:28:13
Any word on when spuds cup tickets are going on sale?

11 Sep 2017 16:20:50
Good news, whatever happens Roy Hodgeson will not be our next manager lol πŸ˜‚.

05 Sep 2017 17:02:02
If fit, would SB risk Huddersfield on Monday? Good chance of him being kicked to bits.

1.) 05 Sep 2017 18:16:10
If who is fit?

2.) 06 Sep 2017 09:02:05
Duh! Meant to add the name lanzini lol.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 22:54:18
If he doesn't risk it we have no creativity so unless he plays for a draw can't see he has much choice.

4.) 07 Sep 2017 09:38:08
I would play him for first hour and bring him off for noble.

5.) 07 sep 2017 22:29:59
noble shouldnt even get a place on the bench he ain't good enough how many times do people need to be told the guy just isn't up to premiership level no more period. coyi.

04 Sep 2017 14:04:13
A thought ( no more ) given the calls out there for the board to sell the club . Here are a couple of ( purely imaginary ) suggestions on new owners . are we ready for red bull London? Chinese consortium that would have no idea of where West Ham are but would like to buy a prem club, oil money with dubious human rights history? Or someone else No idea who though . πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚πŸ™‚.

1.) 04 Sep 2017 17:50:47
Be careful what you wish for Jason's, a few years ago we were under eggert egghead and look where we were then, at least we are stable at moment! Let's forget stadium issues and whether it's good or not, it's our home now and we have to start getting behind the team, I was at West Ham v spurs last year and there was nothing wrong with the atmosphere that night, let's all try and replicate that and hopefully a few good performances from the team and we are away. COYI.

2.) 04 Sep 2017 20:01:30
Hello bobby, defiantly not wanting new owners just asked a question ( I will settle for what we have at least they are West Ham United ) was also there for the spurs game and the Wife ) and various other games Chelsea also ) . Support 100% and will not protest . Just tried tried ( clumsily ) to ask what would would people prefer.

3.) 04 Sep 2017 21:20:29
Personally I don't think the stadium is the problem, I do think bilic is playing the wrong system and I can see why payet said we were negative or defensive as it's also called, I think he has been lucky to keep his job but unless he changes up the system then it's only a matter of time till the axe falls!
If we can get playing some exciting attacking football then the stadium atmosphere will soon be blowing bubbles.
My starting xl: hart, fonte, ogbonna, Reid, cresswell, byram, kouyate, obiang, lanzini, Hernandez and Carroll. Hernandez needs a Carroll or a sakho to use as a foil, playing him up front on his own is ineffective. COYI.

4.) 04 Sep 2017 21:45:12
So you'd leave out arnoutovic (record signing) and also Antonio? One of our best players. Hmm.

5.) 04 Sep 2017 21:58:59
It's all about opinions nothing more πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€.

6.) 04 Sep 2017 22:25:40
Arnautovic has been superb so far! Unfortunately he has a reputation and we need players that stay on the pitch, with 11men it would of been job done had he not got all petulant and offering some retaliation for earlier foul, Antonio I would bring in if fully fit but that's not as yet.

7.) 07 Sep 2017 22:35:02
Adrian is better than Joe Hart 100% I believe in and I bet you we try and sign him at the end of his loan period on the cheap because he's a had a bad season seen it too many times with theses clowns zabeleta wash up ARBELOA washed up Joe Hart washed up got absolutely zero confidence since city outed him who's next Robbie Keane at a guess.

Apparently they have a limit on how many full attendances they can have and want to save them for champ league and the such like.

The ground has been restricted to just under 51000, we ( I believe ) are entitled to 10% of that . So we are short . But even this number is poor we would sell 10000 at least for this game .

The board MAY see some stability as better than none ( and cheaper ) than paying compo and signing a new manager mid season, and let’s be honest who is in line?
