If the dailrecord is correct ( if if if ) could then the reason for West Ham United still weighing up mangers be because Moyes might leave for the Scotland national job? Or could it be just some leverage on the board for them to offer him his full contract sooner than the summer? Or just more tabloid hot air?

1.) 12 Feb 2018 15:26:21
I'd lay a hefty wedge of cash that he is our manager next season based reading between the lines. And TBH he is doing ok especially when you consider where we are now compared to what we were like under SB. Am not blaming SB entirely but I think he was too soft whereas MOYES has made it clear its his way or the highway.

2.) 12 Feb 2018 21:56:43
I’d agree phil.

3.) 13 Feb 2018 10:38:20
I also agree with Phil, but the problem I see comes down to the usual for Managers is time. Looking at Big Scam and Slav they only get 2 years at a time, which is fine but will Moyes want a little more commitment than that to mould and build a side?, both sides of the coin have a good argument.

We need to stabilise in all areas, from the board, Manager, team players and also the fans. Continuity IMO is the base of success, if we can get some kind of harmony between the areas it a start.

I was very sceptical of Moyes when appointed, but give him his due, he has to an extent managed to steer us into calmer waters, I think he should be given a 3 year deal and given the wheel to the ship, the board ( as reported) need to step back and trust his judgement and basically let him get on with it. if they can't do that, I think Moyes may just leave and take the Scotland job. and once again we will be set adrift.

Also I have a niggle that if Moyes did take the job full time, we all know he can be somewhat negative in the style of play. Big Scam is not dissimilar IMO, and look at the stick he got.

We need to realise where we are as a club, the heady heights of the last season at Upton maybe fooled us ( including DGS) we were ready for the next level. basically we are NOT. we need to start building the foundations properly and think Moyes is the man to do this.

A blessing for me that Caroll has hopefully played his last game for the club and not confusing Moyes judgement to have him starting instead of Hernandez,

In Hernandez, Marko, Lanzini, Antonio, and Mario we do have a exciting players that all can score, if DM can balance the team to be strong defensively but dynamic when going forward we will get to where we want sooner rather than later.

I do worry marko may have a great rest of season and than as usual the Big Boys come in sniffing, it will be interesting to see his attitude of commitment if he gets a chance to go somewhere bigger., if they get an offer for him for £40m plus ( which I think is a possibility if he continues to play as he is) I spose would suit both parties and I can't see us keeping hold of him as his desire to go up another level.

Anyway all if and buts, let get safe and we can all evaluate and see what will happen in the summer.

4.) 13 Feb 2018 11:15:20
Hi Warrington some good points in your post and the one thing DGS have always shown is loyalty to the manager unless of course things get so bad allah Grant and Slav

Assuming we do stay up then I think a 3 year Contract for Moyes will be forthcoming of course if he wants it and that could be the start of a 3 to 5 year plan. This will also allow DGS to finally sell out hopefully to Tabor consortium.

5.) 13 Feb 2018 11:20:04
Nice post Warrington and I must admit I agree with everything you say except for Arnie. £40m in this day and age is nothing and if the big boys came sniffing I'd expect him to go for a lot more than that! He is a game changer and in the premier league they are priceless. Look at Hazard, Coutinho etc etc etc who all have that same game changing ability. Hopefully we won't sell him. On the flip side you have players like Carroll who am sorry to say I don't see where he fits in MOYES future plans. He has had it too easy for too long and getting £80k a week for lying in bed isn't funny. Time to get rid and use the money wisely elsewhere.

6.) 13 Feb 2018 12:10:53
Hi Phil, funny you should say that as I originally typed £60m plus, but having thought about it due to his changeable attitude and although his showing what he can do when happy, I just wonder if something does not go his way he could be a negative impact in the dressing room. obviously I have no knowledge but just get the feeling.

If someone big came in at £40m, although as you say very cheap in today's inflated market, it would depend on his attitude to what club it is, and if he wanted to go, I fear he would do anything to get his wish, so as I put £40m plus as a price which would suit all in the long run if he threw his toys out the pram as I spose we still get a profit. but as you rightly say he is worth a lot more in todays market.

7.) 13 Feb 2018 12:39:14
So Warrington, the question has to be (if he behaves himself and I think Moyes has his number) what's his value? He is 28 so about to come into his prime apparently so what's his worth to a big club. what's to say (dreaming a bit here) that a really big club abroad may come calling and then what!

8.) 13 Feb 2018 17:34:03
Can't say that I think Moyes or any other manager should be given full control.

Manager's chop and change too much, and want full squad overhauls each time.

We need the club to have a strategic football vision, to hire a DoF charged with delivering that vision, and then to sign players and hire managers to support that vision.

That way when a manager or player leaves it doesn't turn the whole club upside down, but the vision for football at the club continues.

All controlling managers is an old school approach which is unsustainable at any club which doesn't have an unlimited source of massive funding, on account of the impact on a club a manager leaving then has.

9.) 14 Feb 2018 08:49:15
Hi Stubbo

In vision do you mean a certain continuous style how the team plays no matter what Manager is in.

10.) 16 Feb 2018 22:35:40
Exactly that.

Players and managers then recruited to fit that broader vision.

The manager essentially is head coach.

01 Feb 2018 19:11:07
Sorry guys finger issues! Wishing Jordan well and welcome, hope you can pair up with Hernandez and be the target man that he needs t play off, welcome mate COYI’s.

01 Feb 2018 19:09:11
Tried t to the club and wish him well, really hoping he can pair up with Hernandez and be the target man that he need to.

31 Jan 2018 15:44:51
So unless Smolov ( if West Ham United where interested ) is in Europe or uk then this won’t happen ( not enough time ) who’s next to tick off the list?

1.) 31 Jan 2018 15:50:14
Smolov has issued a statement via his club confirming that he is not leaving and despite the offers he wishes to stay and help his team.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 15:55:56
WOW, this has to be one of the most disappointing windows I've know as a west ham fan. The ambition of this board is there to see every window by the constant underbidding trying to save themselves some money on a great deal. At least they can say they tried (to get every man and his dog on loan)

3.) 31 Jan 2018 15:56:19
he might get on concord.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 15:58:14
Just seen that, chasing shadows again.

5.) 31 Jan 2018 16:07:38
Why are we selling Ayew to a relegation rival, nobody else is doing this. i'd rather we kept him than signed Hugill for crying out loud.

6.) 31 Jan 2018 16:15:27
Hi all They took us away from the bolyne and promised us the earth! And this window shows they don't give a damn about us loyal real suporters as they claim to be, well i'm saying by all you true and loyal rumour friends this site hurts me to see all you loyal mates hurt time and time again by dgs so take care all and best wishes to each and everyone of you ps thanks eds and ironmike regards bonzo.

7.) 31 Jan 2018 16:43:49
Advanced talks to sign A PRESTON PLAYER with limited goals and games for 10 mill instead of a n experienced international striker whos got 10 goals in 13 games I've never heard of HURGILL who is he anybody, apparently he got a couple saturday I not the russian league ain't great but surely its better than the championship and he scored two goals against SPAIN.

29 Jan 2018 17:36:43
Ayew back to Swansea? Is it back on again?

1.) 29 Jan 2018 18:03:46
It seems so for £18m apparently. Not sure about the schneiderlein interest at £20m when. we could get dendoncker who is younger and doubles up as cb? Smolov available for £12m but we want loan until summer? What's with all the loan to buy deals?

2.) 29 Jan 2018 18:30:23
I'm clutching at straws but maybe an investor coming in so they dealing cash out til then.

3.) 29 Jan 2018 18:38:06
It's all quite simple really, we put in big bids for Cairney of Fulham and Madison of Norwich, but are just short of the valuation and we have no chance of getting as their club's don't want to sell. The players we could get we bid low ball, just to make sure we don't get them. Who will be this windows Bacca/ Lacazette/ Carvalho, we all no what's coming.

4.) 29 Jan 2018 18:52:32
No just relegation protection.

5.) 29 Jan 2018 19:12:06
Tripp Smith, 10% owner. Maybe he is bankrolling the finances.

6.) 29 Jan 2018 19:20:53
I think that's possibly why we are going for so. many loan deals playing it safe.

7.) 29 Jan 2018 20:01:55
Wasting 20m on schneirderlin is not playing it safe. There is a good reason a lot of Everton fans would he happy with that deal.

{Ed025's Note - i dont know about happy WH4ever..more ecstatic mate..

Looking at jota tonight it will be interesting to see how he copes in the prem, the boy has quick feet.

1.) 12 Apr 2018 00:10:24
hes only on loan to wolves not sure if they have an option to buy.

2.) 12 Apr 2018 10:57:08
Was worth the punt when we had a chance but the price was high for an unknown talent 😉.

30 Mar 2018 09:35:39
Some positive words from me Evra, tal a good game and with the fans behind the team I believe they will do it, while I’m on this can jus add that I know we the fan don’t allways agree with some of the players brought in But if they wear the shirt then personals I support them regardless .

1.) 30 Mar 2018 10:45:56
Why do I post things from my phone? Looks like my dog wrote it lol lol.

{Ed002's Note - The spelling is better then?}

2.) 30 Mar 2018 12:45:46
Jasonb, good man, I had a bloody chuckle at your spelling😄 I thought what the hell is he trying to say👍 It looked like it could have been one of my posts after 6.00pm before we have our evening meal and a couple of Lagers and Rum and cokes have been consumed🍺🥃⚒⚒⚒.

3.) 30 Mar 2018 11:16:16
And the grammer ed lol 😞.

4.) 30 Mar 2018 17:44:34
I know Chelmsford right dogs dinner! I start off ok then I try to delete something then the bloody cursor is all over the place 😞 thank god phil hasn’t seen it lol.

24 Mar 2018 09:49:34
every man and his dog being linked to West Ham United again, media column inches need filling again? I think so . If I where of a negative view point ( I hope I’m not ) I would wonder if season ticket renewal time is approaching and big names ( even if completely untrue ) are good for sales .

1.) 27 Mar 2018 16:09:00
Wow, what are you trying to say LMAO. The board wouldn't be trying to promote ticket sales would they PMSL :-)

2.) 28 Mar 2018 13:51:06
Well if you put it like that phil 😂😂😂😂.

21 Mar 2018 10:03:02
As I read more about ongoing disputes with the stadium owners and West Ham United and the mayors obvious sustain for the whole situation, I wonder what the most likely out come will be, a renegotiation of the contract? The stadium being sold? Nothing at all? I’m sure people out there with better knowledge could give there views on this, legally can any thing be done or is it too tied up in legal tape?

13 Mar 2018 17:22:04
Is a punishment of 5 games behind closed doors a realistic punishment for 4 people invanding a pitch? If it is then Lille must be in danger of being shut down .

1.) 13 Mar 2018 20:27:00
So these morons run on the pitch and the
rest of us suffer with losing the money we
have spent already by having a season
ticket for these games that we may have to
play behind closed doors
Well I hope the morons get named and shamed
and banned for life.

{Ed002's Note - They could go for a points reduction if they really want to damage the club - which they don’t seem to care for either way. Maybe see if they can swing a transfer ban as well. I saw an old buddy who is a Millwall fan tonight who sees this whole saga as laughable.}

2.) 13 Mar 2018 21:23:28
Everyone is laughing at us
Gold and Sullivan and Brady have bought
this all on themselves.

3.) 13 Mar 2018 21:42:02
Points reduction for a few fans on the pitch have a day off!

Yes the scenes were ugly almost as bad as Harts goal keeping.

Media have blown this up like most things sensing a little bit of a vendetta against us since we moved to the Olympic stadium nothing but bad press, saying that a lot of people accosiated with the club don't help.

{Ed002's Note - you are making it up, no one said that. If they persist with this entirely unacceptable behaviour the club will be punished.}

4.) 14 Mar 2018 08:00:23
Someone let me know when this horror show is over and the season is done, not sure how much bleach will be needed to try to clean up the club image at the moment, mr muscle and Cillit bang shortages expected.

5.) 14 Mar 2018 14:04:28
points deductions shouldn't be getting discussed at all. that is my point fully aware you weren't advocating a points deduction or suggesting they are thinking about it but adding fuel to the fire is what you are doing. don't get upset and stoop to petty insults espicially when it makes you look like hypocrite.

{Ed001's Note - He said they could have done if they just wanted to damage the club but no one seems to want to do that. In other words it is not on the cards. Now you want to continue the argument over something you misunderstood!}

6.) 14 Mar 2018 14:32:47
yes I can see that as cleary stated above. I'm saying I don't think anyone should be discussing it as a possibility not at the moment anyway.

oh and he actually said they don't seem to care either way if they damage the club. not to mention bringing up his millwall mate laughing at us. so don't think it's me taking the piss mate!

{Ed002's Note - That is all true - they don't care what damage they are doing in confronting one of the owners in Wales, confronting them at the ground, invading the pitch, throwing coins at the board etc.. Ironically, the only complaint anyone has come up with so far is that the WHU fans feel they were lied to about being in the Champions League by now. They would have been naive to think it would be quite so easy to be able to over a season dislodge three of Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Manchester City. Up to now that is the only issue that has been explained to me here - although I have asked for the clarity of a quotation for a second supposed "lie". And yes, Millwall fans find the matter laughable - but I imagine Leyton Orient fans have some sympathy given their problems over the past couple of years or so - I am not sure if they were promised Champions League or not.}

7.) 14 Mar 2018 17:53:24
No desire to become embroiled in a row, but there are articles full of the sort of guff that West Ham fans were fed pre-Olympic stadium move.

I'm sure you know the absolute rot that was espoused from the stadium experience that would be delivered, to investment in the side, to the place unquestionably feeling like home, to things like the capacity that would be delivered.

8.) 14 Mar 2018 19:36:55
I did include some links to articles in my previous post. guessing they got stripped out.

9.) 14 Mar 2018 20:38:48
ok maybe a few hopefuls might have thought we would be challenging for champions league but those few don't represent the entire fanbase as there a lot of fans with common sense and you can't simply put a time frame on that.

The owners did talk a lot of crap about showing ambition and creating a team that has the top teams looking over there shoulder nothing wrong with showing ambition now I don't want to state anything as fact but I do remember them vaguely sticking a ridiculous time frame on the matter.

The thing that really annoys me we have left our home now with the idea that to really push on and show ambition it was needed, at the moment we have nothing to show for it we left our home and the talk has continued I've seen little action to match The ambition that has been touted. The need for DOF has been apparent for sometime as there seems to be no clear strategy long term or even short term the only pattern I'm seeing is west ham love a "freebie" quite often high wages and old. they spend loads of time haggling then walk away and say they couldn't get it done.

The last season at Upton park was a great one and tbf we were unfortunate not to end up in the top 4 and I will admit I got my hopes up new stadium revenue increase the t. v. deals I hoped we would really have a great transfer window possibly a decent run in the Europa league. but we signed absolute dross and barely any of the signings worked out. something else springs to mind maybe someone could enlighten me if I'm wrong but sure I remember someone from the board talking about wanting a world class stadium with a world class team to match?

personally I just want us to concentrate on serving up the best football we possibly can as that's what we are all here for to enjoy the beautiful game. I'd love for west ham to be known for playing great football but at least feel like the players give everything and leave nothing on the pitch perhaps we would get occasional cup run and some higher league finishes maybe even to qualify and compete in Europe. hopefully we can buy the stadium in time and convert it for football use get fans close the pitch build a real cauldron, we don't need anything fancy no huge screens use that space for more seats.

{Ed002's Note - right and that is what I have been telling you repeatedly - the issue is interference in transfers and the lack of a football person heading the football side of things.} I will Kiel’s have something more I can share to some extent later tomorrow, but I do have an evening flight out.}

10.) 14 Mar 2018 21:18:35
I'm fully aware of this ed. do I have faith in sulli to get the right man for the job, no. probably just get a yes man.

11.) 15 Mar 2018 14:00:11
We all know a director of football is what is needed but if people think this is going to be the gateway to top quality players at top quality prices they are deluded. Sully will still be holding the purse strings and he is a tight as a ducks backside you don't need me to tell you that. This director of football whoever it is will need to be looking in the lower leagues and abroad for an uncut diamond and we will need to clear the dross and build from the bottom with youth possibly in the championship, then and only then will we get off this continual hamster wheel of relegation battles. I seem to recall another club in Manchester following this idea and it didn't work out too bad for them.

Can’t believe they are already changing direction! It seems to me that there is no way they will let any control go no matter what area it is in, oh and obviously they won’t pay the Wages necessary to get a DOF, come on DgS proove me wrong and for a change make me smile!

It seems that the modern striker had to be all things to the manager and not just a goal scorer, just think of all the past great strikers who would not be in any prem squad these days,
