I hear nasri didn't travel, is his calf Injury now worse than thought?

Jasonb

1.) 15 Feb 2019 13:54:29
Oh no I hope not😩🤭.

2.) 17 Feb 2019 14:08:24
We just seem to always be top of the injury table. 😟.

3.) 17 Feb 2019 15:38:01
Seems to have been that way for years now.

So then folks, Mario and fonte where not good enough for West Ham? Crazy crazy talk ! They are both playing in the World Cup for gods sake! I do wonder sometimes!

Jasonb

1.) 15 Jun 2018 23:12:15
Jason, agreed on the face of it, seems strange, but players are judged by week in week out performances with their clubs that pay their wages! There have been plenty of players that have been selected to play for their country that are not currently first team choices at their clubs which often seems strange to me, but it happens?
We do seem however to have a record of seemingly not getting the best out of players when they play for us, how many flourish elsewhere after leaving, so as you say it does make you wonder? But I’m sure fans of other clubs can say the same? Bloody frustrating mate though☹️☹️.

2.) 16 Jun 2018 01:21:30
Players from the Saudi Arabian league are playing in the World Cup. don't make them good enough for West Ham. Fonte got totally ruined by Costa tonight. a sight we saw many times in the Claret and Blue.

3.) 16 Jun 2018 04:00:05
Sure Is Chelmsford.

4.) 16 Jun 2018 08:35:30
Paul, good point you make, not only not good enough for us, but maybe not even good enough if you drop down a league or two😂 I am unfortunately a bit of a conspiracy theorist! Russia’s first game against a country that they thrash 5-0, a record score for the host country to win by in the first game, Putin all smiles fist bumping with the Saudi bloke, what an effing farce😂😂 Putin will walk around chest pumped out with cheating pride, the country has cheated for decades to impress the world, they should be banned from all sporting events, it is not random cheating, it has been proven it is state sponsored, I think the FA should have had the balls to boycott the World Cup, then some others may have had the courage to do the same! Some say politics shouldn’t affect sport, why not? Our Supporters are injecting money into a country that has damaged the economy of Salisbury with businesses suffering “ and health of innocent people, “do unto others as they do unto you” apologies for political rant 😂😂⚒⚒⚒.

5.) 16 Jun 2018 08:40:58
I actually thought Joao Mario looked poor when he came on personally.

6.) 16 Jun 2018 10:04:13
Portugal are a pony team without Ronaldo! They have a few diamonds in the rough coming through at a younger level but their first team struggles without Ronnie, would have probably lost 3-0 to Spain last night. Then we would be saying that's why they weren't good enough for WH 😂.

7.) 16 Jun 2018 10:01:38
Chelmsford your wrong mate. I am long time reader had to join just to say let's keep political stuff off here. There is zero proof Russia had anything to do with salsbury, don't believe everything you read pal.

8.) 16 Jun 2018 10:07:13
I wouldn’t take any of the Iran team but they are at the World Cup and they won?

Fonte is not good enough for us.

9.) 16 Jun 2018 11:01:10
Robbie, I do not wish to be disrespectful to you, but no I am not wrong or right, but neither are you right or wrong it’s an opinion we are all entitled to.

10.) 16 Jun 2018 12:22:59
Agreed Chelmsford, if it’s West Ham, gerdening, cars, politics whatever, it’s your opinion, come on lads. Russia have a lot to answer for in all walks of life and that’s the truth, wait and see how opinion change if them ultras get a hold of any poor English fans just going about their business not the ones looking for a scrap. If there is no trouble I will be very surprised, even a politician who fully backs out in cane out and said last week that they should just organise a fight between us and them in a stadium I come on wtf. Anyway back to footy, any news IRONMIKE.

11.) 16 Jun 2018 12:25:43
Font was only playing because of slight injury apparently. COYI.

12.) 17 Jun 2018 08:24:54
Fonte was a bad buy. And that my friend is the truth.

13.) 18 Jun 2018 09:18:21
Chelmsford, of course we are all entitled to our opinion but as soon as you bring world issues into the game than really we no longer have a sport. Russia was accused of state sponsored doping and they got caught and are banned in the sport they got caught for.

Concerning polictical issues in my humble opinion we would not have a world cup, do you think out own secret service have not committed crimes abroad and than let talk about human rights in certain countries, amongst other things, where does the line stop.? . Politics has nothing to do with sport and should never rear its ugly head.

Football is a outlet for many under privileged people around the world who either do not have a say or care how there respective country is run, why punish these individuals for something that they have nothing to do with. Let the idiots ruin the world but we must never let it cross the line into sport more to the point football!

14.) 18 Jun 2018 22:45:07
It is about opinion CHELMSFORD I totally agree but when people do there's a few I forgot more than they know about GOOD FOOTBALLERS mate not aimed at you but the comedians on this site who THINK they know everything and talk complete garbage and I expected nothing less from them and there's a few who want to be careful what they want at WEST HAM because they will be the first to slag off MP who's made the wrong transfers if I'm wrong I will totally hold my hands up and say I was wrong but MADDISON will not shine in the premier league that I a convinced of I know of a couple of people from LOWESTOFT Awho go to Home games at NORWICH ones my brother in law who is quite clued up on footy and why he said he's decent he said he ain't a premier league player in his opinion and he ain't saying that because he's a Norwich fan just being honest and that's not nonsense and it's about opinions like you said and mine is he won't shine and for TWENT MILLION REASONS I think we've dodged a bullet and for that money i'd rather sign Anderson. COYI.

12 Feb 2018 10:01:16
If the dailrecord is correct ( if if if ) could then the reason for West Ham United still weighing up mangers be because Moyes might leave for the Scotland national job? Or could it be just some leverage on the board for them to offer him his full contract sooner than the summer? Or just more tabloid hot air?

Jasonb

1.) 12 Feb 2018 15:26:21
I'd lay a hefty wedge of cash that he is our manager next season based reading between the lines. And TBH he is doing ok especially when you consider where we are now compared to what we were like under SB. Am not blaming SB entirely but I think he was too soft whereas MOYES has made it clear its his way or the highway.

2.) 12 Feb 2018 21:56:43
I’d agree phil.

3.) 13 Feb 2018 10:38:20
I also agree with Phil, but the problem I see comes down to the usual for Managers is time. Looking at Big Scam and Slav they only get 2 years at a time, which is fine but will Moyes want a little more commitment than that to mould and build a side?, both sides of the coin have a good argument.

We need to stabilise in all areas, from the board, Manager, team players and also the fans. Continuity IMO is the base of success, if we can get some kind of harmony between the areas it a start.

I was very sceptical of Moyes when appointed, but give him his due, he has to an extent managed to steer us into calmer waters, I think he should be given a 3 year deal and given the wheel to the ship, the board ( as reported) need to step back and trust his judgement and basically let him get on with it. if they can't do that, I think Moyes may just leave and take the Scotland job. and once again we will be set adrift.

Also I have a niggle that if Moyes did take the job full time, we all know he can be somewhat negative in the style of play. Big Scam is not dissimilar IMO, and look at the stick he got.

We need to realise where we are as a club, the heady heights of the last season at Upton maybe fooled us ( including DGS) we were ready for the next level. basically we are NOT. we need to start building the foundations properly and think Moyes is the man to do this.

A blessing for me that Caroll has hopefully played his last game for the club and not confusing Moyes judgement to have him starting instead of Hernandez,

In Hernandez, Marko, Lanzini, Antonio, and Mario we do have a exciting players that all can score, if DM can balance the team to be strong defensively but dynamic when going forward we will get to where we want sooner rather than later.

I do worry marko may have a great rest of season and than as usual the Big Boys come in sniffing, it will be interesting to see his attitude of commitment if he gets a chance to go somewhere bigger., if they get an offer for him for £40m plus ( which I think is a possibility if he continues to play as he is) I spose would suit both parties and I can't see us keeping hold of him as his desire to go up another level.

Anyway all if and buts, let get safe and we can all evaluate and see what will happen in the summer.

4.) 13 Feb 2018 11:15:20
Hi Warrington some good points in your post and the one thing DGS have always shown is loyalty to the manager unless of course things get so bad allah Grant and Slav

Assuming we do stay up then I think a 3 year Contract for Moyes will be forthcoming of course if he wants it and that could be the start of a 3 to 5 year plan. This will also allow DGS to finally sell out hopefully to Tabor consortium.

5.) 13 Feb 2018 11:20:04
Nice post Warrington and I must admit I agree with everything you say except for Arnie. £40m in this day and age is nothing and if the big boys came sniffing I'd expect him to go for a lot more than that! He is a game changer and in the premier league they are priceless. Look at Hazard, Coutinho etc etc etc who all have that same game changing ability. Hopefully we won't sell him. On the flip side you have players like Carroll who am sorry to say I don't see where he fits in MOYES future plans. He has had it too easy for too long and getting £80k a week for lying in bed isn't funny. Time to get rid and use the money wisely elsewhere.

6.) 13 Feb 2018 12:10:53
Hi Phil, funny you should say that as I originally typed £60m plus, but having thought about it due to his changeable attitude and although his showing what he can do when happy, I just wonder if something does not go his way he could be a negative impact in the dressing room. obviously I have no knowledge but just get the feeling.

If someone big came in at £40m, although as you say very cheap in today's inflated market, it would depend on his attitude to what club it is, and if he wanted to go, I fear he would do anything to get his wish, so as I put £40m plus as a price which would suit all in the long run if he threw his toys out the pram as I spose we still get a profit. but as you rightly say he is worth a lot more in todays market.

7.) 13 Feb 2018 12:39:14
So Warrington, the question has to be (if he behaves himself and I think Moyes has his number) what's his value? He is 28 so about to come into his prime apparently so what's his worth to a big club. what's to say (dreaming a bit here) that a really big club abroad may come calling and then what!

8.) 13 Feb 2018 17:34:03
Can't say that I think Moyes or any other manager should be given full control.

Manager's chop and change too much, and want full squad overhauls each time.

We need the club to have a strategic football vision, to hire a DoF charged with delivering that vision, and then to sign players and hire managers to support that vision.

That way when a manager or player leaves it doesn't turn the whole club upside down, but the vision for football at the club continues.

All controlling managers is an old school approach which is unsustainable at any club which doesn't have an unlimited source of massive funding, on account of the impact on a club a manager leaving then has.

9.) 14 Feb 2018 08:49:15
Hi Stubbo

In vision do you mean a certain continuous style how the team plays no matter what Manager is in.

10.) 16 Feb 2018 22:35:40
Exactly that.

Players and managers then recruited to fit that broader vision.

The manager essentially is head coach.

Ok so seeing where we are and the next few fixtures . What we can we expect? First team to beat liverpool? Win at leicester? Victory at the etihad? Nextvround of the cup? I know which one my monies on . the double over liverpool lol.

Jasonb

1.) 19 Jan 2020 21:16:42
Bleak future but we might beat brighton.

2.) 19 Jan 2020 23:13:28
I hope so mac esp with a bit more bite upfront.

3.) 20 Jan 2020 00:44:18
Knowing West Ham over many years we probably will beat Liverpool and then lose to Brighton.

4.) 20 Jan 2020 08:09:36
Sal, More chance of winning the Lottery mate than us beating Liverpool, their pace and fantastic work rate will make us look look what we are at the moment a Championship side! Adrian will be on the bench smiling to himself and rightly so😀Unless DM can work wonders with at least 3 new signings this month and our best forward Antonio returns back, we’d better hope the others below us don’t start picking up 3 points a game! I thought we were, boring, lethargic, no creativity anywhere against Everton! I will go no further than a TV set to watch us play again unfortunately in the near future! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

Was that a derby? Flat team flat crowd and a flat result . Hopefully our last poor performance for a while . Have to get back on it boys . not good enough today.

1.) 06 Oct 2019 00:34:55
I thought we were robbed they created very little sat deep and their fowards were constantly playing for fouls a lot of them given were soft.

Their keeper didn't no much about 2 saves in the first half. Another day and those go in.

The play for our goal was quality.

Pen was harsh on the team but that's the rules might look unnatural but hard to tell I heard someone suggest he was protecting himself from a high boot? Who knows. 2 contentious offsides one saved by an ankle the other a knee.

They were very very lucky today.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 23:57:12
Robbed? Not really - they played an away game and sat and waited for our errors. We were far too slow in our build up first half and really blew a great chance to keep the run going.

3.) 07 Oct 2019 09:26:15
I was interested to see Anderson playing a lot in the middle of the pitch, Did anyone else notice. In fact at one point he chased back into the right fullback slot whilst a very lazy Lanzini was sitting out on the left wing. Was this Anderson recognising Lanzini having an off day and trying to take on some of his work or a game plan?

Jason's Penny's worth . west ham and being knocked out of a cup is not a shock . It's nothing new for us and not a surprise but it is a disappointment .
