IRONMIKE - Charlie Austin's name is all over the internet saying he's coming to us.? Is this papertalk or is there some truth in it.?

Just caught wind of a 13m bid? Any truth? Also QPR have admitted they have received two offers for him, could it be us and the Spuds? Any info appreciated Eds or regular posters?

HI nessy , lavezzi was the subject of a enquiry awhile back, psg, thought they could get good. Money for him, but there's been no customers at those prices, they are prepared I understand to take lot less for him now, and they are punting him around the premier league, wh are NOT front runners here, BUT if his value gets down to where wh value him we need a winger, so there is a small possibility. THERE has been a change of tack from Galatasaray , again sensing wh needs for a striker they have hoisted yilmaz price wh offered 7.2 m which was looking likely, now they have come back at 10,5 m 50% more , So SB is denying wh interest that's not true, wh weren't expecting this jump in price asked that's for sure , problem is as the days tick past without a purchase, desperation grows greater When you start looking at championship strikers , you are taking a real gamble, some make the grade, a lot don't it's arisky business , and this definetly applies to andre Gray, Ben afobe etc, When the pressures on. If we can sign Huddlestone from Hull in a swap deal for Amalfitano, that'd be good business.
Follow that up with Alex Song later in the transfer window (he is injured, and why sign him to pay his wages now, when you could sing him in 2 more weeks?) and our central midfield looks very strong with quite a lot of depth.
We still need at least one forward and any of these players. Yilmaz, Austin, Remy or Hernandez would be good signings. My personal opinion is that Sakho is more effective playing out on the right, he looks isolated and alone when playing up top and always seems to drift out to the right.

Ironmike, with Galatasaray hiking up the price to 10.5m will DGS allow us to be blackmailed so to speak as Galatasaray know how desperate we are for a striker?, will they still try to negotiate with them or just walk away and go for another target I was so hoping of getting Yilmaz in as I really think that would be really good business

it was our kids, and with the exception of Carl Jenkinson, not a single one of those players will actually start for West Ham this season. Jenkinson only started because he can't face his parent club (Arsenal) this weekend.

Am 99% sure I can't speak for all West Ham fans here when I say I'm totally p'd off with the going go on at West Ham United at this moment of the window. Palace, Stoke and West Brom must be laughing there heads off at us and our inability to secure a striker. Linked with everyone but not willing to pay the going rate seems to be the new West Ham way and it's just not on. Haggling over a few million is loosing targets which could place is in a bad situation come the season run in so why do it. Pay the going rate for Yilmaz and Austin and get business done or we will be the laughing stock with the massive shiny new stadium in the championship next year.

Just thought I'd ask because in my opinion I cannot see any sense in the Barton signing unless there was some hidden motive? Sod going for someone who:
A - Won't get a game
B - Will get Boo'd more by the home fans than anyone else
C - Could disrupt the dressing room
D - is a twat.
We need a striker.!!!
