£60million for Arnie let's face it is is a lot of dough. His one season with us was interesting the first few weeks he was indifferent poor play getting sent lack of effort etc. Then the game against Stoke woke him up and it was if he had seen the light - non stop running clever ball play and bringing his team mates into the game No he is at the World Cup if he has a good tournament his value will soar and the temptation will be very difficult to ignore a transfer to a Champions League side

Look at it another way £60 million is enough for a free season ticket for everyone for a whole season - as of that's going to happen

I do believe in the end it will be down to what Arnie wants to do and for the way he played for the last 6 months I wish him well in whatever he decides but I hope he stays!

1.) 09 Jun 2018 15:38:25
So what is your point?

2.) 09 Jun 2018 17:12:09
Just watch vidieo of FREDERICK'S and he'd give ZABALETTA 10 yards and still beat him he's double rapid good luck to any left back next season I've never seen a right back as quick in my life he looks quicker than WALKER what a signing, could be our best ever as good as PAYET till he went on a moody one . COYI.

3.) 09 Jun 2018 17:37:37
Well I don't know who you think Arnoutavic will be playing for at the world cup because Austria did not qualify? The only way he is going is if he buys a ticket and sits in the stands with everyone else which I doubt will affect his value.

4.) 09 Jun 2018 18:31:27
Kram, he was a county 100m sprint champion as a youngster, so we now have our own Usain Bolt😁😁⚒⚒.

5.) 09 Jun 2018 18:34:20
Diggy😂😂 well spotted, made me smile, never picked up on Austria not in the W. C. 😂😂.

6.) 09 Jun 2018 21:40:15
😂 no disrespect meant mercerl.

7.) 09 Jun 2018 22:48:12
I was aware of that CHELMSFORD so was I and I ended up being a window cleaner you hear that sort of thing all the time but I'm on about running with the ball totally different skill as all sprinters would be footballers DAREN CAMPBELL tried and failed but this will be our best signing because he can play a bit as well as defend. COYI.

8.) 10 Jun 2018 07:11:30
Has anyone noticed that lazio want €40 mill for anderson and we have offered €27 mill? I wonder who is behind this farce!

9.) 10 Jun 2018 08:07:28
Kram, when you you were a bit speedy as you say, was that running with or without the ladders😂😂 Yes of course running with the ball at your feet is entirely different, but usually its a couple of yards or so in front to give you the chance to sprint ahead, but it’s a great asset to have, I think all teams need some paces players and we have now acquired one the fastest, surprised no bigger clubs beat us to his signature👍😄⚒⚒.

Sky Sports say we are talking to PSG about Javier Pastore now that does excite me.

mercerl

1.) 02 Jun 2018 09:56:15
Great signing if it comes off. one rag mentioning Rabiot too, can't see that though.

2.) 02 Jun 2018 10:58:54
Has the feel of agents using west ham to get better deals for their clients.

3.) 02 Jun 2018 11:00:40
His wage demands would be huge, could we afford it?

4.) 02 Jun 2018 12:56:29
His wages aren't an issue, I've seen numbers like £190-200K a week banded about but that ain't true, he's on £80odd grand a week. I think we paid Andre Ayew more!

5.) 02 Jun 2018 13:35:06
Someone suggesting it's a name flung out there as it's season ticket renewal time.

6.) 02 jun 2018 21:52:12
never a truer words spoken they think we are muppets they are playing with die hard supporters who live and breath west ham and are full of broken promises and bullshit.

31 May 2018 16:38:39
Daily Mirror now reporting Frederick's is a done deal My neighbour, A craven cottage season ticket holder told me he is the one Fulham player the fans don't want to lose

Bit of a battler so he will go down well at West Ham.

I've been looking at all the interest in Marlon Santos over the last few days without commenting but am beginning to wonder if all the hype is just a bit too much for a young man who really has only played 23 senior games for Nice Barcelona only paid 5 mill for him and we now offer 16.5 mill just a year on not a bad profit for Barca.

I hope Marlon is a really good prospect but let's be honest he's played Lees first team games in Europe than Declan had in the Prem and he didn't cost a thing - interesting times.

mercerl

1.) 30 May 2018 23:37:21
Just watched SANTOS on YouTube and I know every player looks good on you tube as they don't show bad bits but I think he could be a holdING midfielder as he looks OK on the ball (what Brazilian ain't ) but doesn't look the quickest. COYI.

2.) 31 May 2018 07:07:26
Don’t we already have a young talented CB in oxford.

Given the impact of Rice, should he not be given a chance.

Each time I have seen him play, he has let no one down?

3.) 31 May 2018 08:12:22
I thought oxford wanted out anyway.

4.) 31 May 2018 20:04:56
Rice did drop a clanger against ARSENAL ducking under a ball he should have headed clear but I know what you mean . COYI.

5.) 02 Jun 2018 17:09:21
I don’t think Santos is being brought in to replace Rice but more than likely to slot in where Cresswell was playing. I didn’t fancy Cresswell playing as one of the back three last season, he just isn’t defensively minded enough. If you are going to play a back 3 they need to be predominantly defensive.
I think Rice may still slot in at back 3 as a “stand in” for a defender if we don’t have one ( like Reid who is always injured) .
I would like to see how Rice shapes next to Noble in midfield instead of Kouyate.

Rumours that Pellegrini to sign 3 year deal on £10millipn per year with control of transfers. That'll be a first for a few years.

mercerl

1.) 21 May 2018 13:15:55
Believe it when it's confirmed but for SULLY to have no say on who's spending his money beggers belief and if it's true with PELLEGRINI have the whole say on any transfer dealings with the BRADY BUNCH not getting involved will be the biggest and best bit of news WEST HAM SUPPORTERS have had in the last few years and bring it on next news will be the BRADY BUNCH have left the club we can only DREAM AND DREAMS CAN BECOME REALITY U KNOW. COYI.

So Spain 3 Portugal 3 with De Ghea doing a Rob Green and Nachos doing a Mark Noble - Brilliant eh.

mercerl

09 Jun 2018 18:04:43
Well that was a brilliant post that I made not! first under impression Austria had qualified for WC GOT THAT WRONG then the typos made it look stupid some times you wish you hadn't got out of bed as Homer would say, - doh

Anyway my point was that we have only seen 6 months of real quality and I do like the way he plays but £60 million plus is a lot of money and I could understand the club cashing in after just a short time and also couldn't blame him if he wanted to go to a club where he could get European football

I reiterate I hope he stays but will wish him well if he goes.

I never supported the march was disgusted by the pitch invasion and the demonstration during the Burnley game but now I feel that the board IE Messrs Gold Sullivan and Brady have sunk to an all time low

To release one of our best players who has been a great servant for our club over nearly 10 years and to do it by e mail shows in my opinion a level of arrogance and ignorance that beggars belief.

I would like to see a public apology to James Collins in writing and an explanation to all the fans why this happened and to give us the date for a testamonial immediately.

Please Mr Sullivan if you can't show a modicum of common respect sell up and get out.

mercerl

1.) 19 May 2018 11:19:46
Could our club get any lower?

2.) 19 May 2018 11:59:39
All of the above are simply CONTROL FREAKS and the three sully Brady gold are a match made in heaven in all the wrong ways and to sack someone by email is all what they are lacking in morales and class and have no place at our FAMILY CLUB and the quicker they are gone the better. COYI.

3.) 19 May 2018 12:43:51
Just seen that it isn’t quite as clear as first made out, but part of it is still distasteful.

4.) 19 May 2018 13:45:37
Collins gave everything to our club. never knew about this until I read the above posts. I would bet Sullivan is the one behind this, guy has no class.

18 May 2018 12:16:52
If it is Pelegrini then it will be interesting not only has he managed across the world he has a 50.1 win percentage although the majority of this is the 75% with Real Madrid

However the syndic in me thinks that Sullivan has found out that he has a Civil Engineering qualification and could sort out the stadium in his spare time lol.

14 May 2018 12:58:40
So the situation is do we keep Moyes or get someone new

Firstly Gold and Sulivan rarely sack managers rather letting contracts expire so Moyes could be going as his contract is up I. E. It's a good time. If he's staying then it's a new contract and he is likely to be with us for at least 2 years more.

If he goes then who do we bring in - my wishes would be as follows
1 Must speak and understand English
2 must be capable of playing an intensive passing game that provides goals whilst defending well
3 has an interest on bringing youth players, who are good enough, through to the first team Rice is the first youngster since Thomkins Collinson and Sears were brought thru at the same time
4 depth on the squad so that injuries don't continually affect the team
5 A manager who is young with good ideas and not been at every other PL club over the last few years.
6 let's build a project that lasts a few years rather than a few months

So who is that person I'll put up Danny Cowley who has son wonders at lower league clubs and a lifelong West Ham supporter

Now over to you lot for serious considerations with good reasoning behind it.

mercerl

1.) 14 May 2018 13:40:44
Hi Merci

That would be a massive risk that the board will not entertain, although I don't disagree with giving someone young a chance as in my previous posts it won't happen.

Going down that route I would like to see Gary Rowett, his young at 44 English and done really well at Birmingham before someone on mind bending substances sacked him, his now at Derby and has one foot in the play offs. His no prima donar manager and seems to be able to get a team playing, it will not be long before he manages in the Prem and if not Derby someone will take a punt on him i'm sure, and why not us. that's my choice Merc has a little more experience at a higher level than Cowley, i'm not sure supporting Westham would make much of a difference in managerial skills, the only downful is the Prem is a massive step up but if he succeeds your laughing, it would be better than the usual carthorses that lower Prem clubs seem to appoint because there safe.

2.) 14 May 2018 13:59:08
Great shout Warrington I put Cowley up to get you lot going can't see it happening and I wasn't really being that serious but I can see Cowley getting somewhere in the not too distant future

Would be very happy with Gary Rowett.

3.) 14 May 2018 14:29:42
Going through in my head about managers, I would third that Gary Rowett choice, been quite successful elsewhere, however would it even be a consideration by the board, as he was Asst Manager to Paul Pescihisolido at Burton Albion, then promoted to Manager when Paul Pescihisolido was sacked, as we know who Brady’s husband is, can see that going down like a lead balloon in the Brady household😂😂👍👍.

4.) 14 May 2018 21:26:52
They will try for umpteen managers and stick with MOYES and MOYES should tell SULLY THE CONTROL FREAK where to stick it the little peasant.

Mike Sun on Sunday reporting today that Liverpool have offered Burnley £15 million for Pope that seems a good buy to me for an England International who was top of the PL stats last season.

I'm not surprised we pulled out I posted last week about his inexperience less first team appearances than Declan and no PL experience We would be better off keeping Oxford or Burke.

Mile in that case its a typical PR cock up West Ham should have released the info straight away then rhe whole story would have been accurate.

My opinion is that we must keep Rice and he should be offered a salary that is commensurate with that of Diop who is of about the same age although with slightly more experience me thinks.

Hi Chelmsford agree with you about Antonio but since the Hamstring injury he has had problems

His style of play will always leave him suspect to the weakness that has probably developed he depends on speed and particularly acceleration

I really hope he can overcome the injury and get back to where he was fully fit and playing with and off Arnie I think the pair could be really good.

Both Arnie and Rashford are excellent players but the one thing you can be sure of is Arnie is always going to play at West ham if fit but at Man utd he will be on the bench half the season and behind Lukaku and any other striker Mourinio spends gazillions on.
