Mike do you think our business is over? Can we expect anymore big signings? Is there much money left for transfers/ wages?

With Reid out that only leaves us with 1 senior CB with prem experience in ogbonna whos form been very patchy. We really need diop rice and balbuena to step up I didn't see the Preston game and have heard varying opinions on diop and rice at the back which is quite worrying.

Pellegrini has shown he prefures to limit the amount defending his team's do by having players that can keep possession in the final third which makes sense of why we are still being linked to wingers/ attacking midfielders even after we have signed wilshire, Anderson, yarmolenko if any of these were to get injured that would leave us light in players who can play the way pellegrini wants. Yes Arni can drop deeper but then that leaves us light up top. hernandez won't want to play second fiddle could ask to leave and if we do get rid of Antonio and Snodgrass we need suitable replacments.

With that being said our business should be far from over can we shift these players and bring in replacements in time that is likely to be the issue.

1.) 22 Jul 2018 16:20:50
After watching yesterday I certainly hope that players coming in is not over I was alarmed with the ease the Preston forwards skipped around and but for wayward finishes could have won easily Diops got talent but cannot be first pick on this showing surely ? Rice done good until Bodin ran rings around him 2 nd half Ogbonna was slow and clumsy Personally I think we have enough going forward with the introduction of Andersen he Yarmolenko Arnie and Wilshere. Will get goals aided by Fredericks MY concern is the back where I see no improvement whatsoever No side ever achieved anything without a good defence. This week we shall see Balbuena coming on but we need a quality DM or TwO. To stop the flow against the defence. IRONMIKE.

2.) 22 Jul 2018 18:37:22
Still early days on diop and for the team learning pellegrinis ways. Tbf to rice I did see bodins goal and it looked to me as it was a bad touch by bodin that turned into a piece of skill that caught rice out i don't actually think bodin meant it, be interesting to know what others thought on that? This is what pre-season is for not only fitness and tactics to learn from these mistakes now get them ironed out ready for the season, let's not forget we won every game in pre-season under Avram grant and we all know how that turned out.

As for DM I think this is a position we all know has needed an upgrade for a while now. hope this is now the priority and we are willing to spend big. Obiang can play I think he has been unlucky with injuries unfortantely.

3.) 22 Jul 2018 22:47:23
It's too early to be worried Mike, the guys are not fit yet, some are still adjusting to a new team, new country, new league, new and faster paced game. it all takes time, we'll be fine.

4.) 23 Jul 2018 09:33:14
yeah only a couple of pre season every ones not going to be anywhere near up to speed yet, I think diop will be good addition just needs a little bit of time to settle.

5.) 23 Jul 2018 13:53:43
I fully understand as I've never gone with pre-season games as just to get fit bollocks to the result, but i hope and prey BALBUENA shines for us because we need it so come on fabian let's see a prooer centre half because as thinfs stand DIOP is raw and undercooked imo as BALBUENA has more experiance than issa we should see a complete c/ b one bright thing on ISSA is PSG and all their mega stars could only beat them 1-0 so he can't be as bad as he's shown so far. COYI.

15 Jul 2018 10:11:12
Welcome Felipe, finally on the official website! whos next?

1.) 15 Jul 2018 10:27:12
Anyone know how much is left in the budget now? Anderson £38mil + add ons, Diop £20+mil, Fabianski £7mil, Balbuena £4mil (ISH), Wilshire and Fredericks on frees + sign on bonuses and agent fees and every other fee that goes with transfers for all players. This must take us up close to the touted £75mil budget for this window.

2.) 15 Jul 2018 10:33:42
Fantastic news. Credit to DS on this one.

What a brilliant window! If it closed now we have to be happy with the signings.

. but wouldn’t Bernard be a great addition?

Just imagine a side with the talent of Wilshere, Yarmolenko, Arnautovic, Anderson and Bernard in front of a much better back four than last year.

3.) 15 Jul 2018 12:07:22
I hope MP can get all the new boys clicking quickly. Traditionally adding a lot of players to a squad can disrupt the chemistry. I think this might have been what happened to Everton last season.

We do have a long time to the start of the season though, I can't actually believe we got all these over the line so quickly and we didn't give up with Anderson like we have done with so many other potential marquee signings in the past.

What a time to be a hammer ⚒️.

4.) 15 Jul 2018 12:35:51
Diggiddy - last season’s chemistry needed disrupting!

5.) 15 Jul 2018 13:02:24
Bill I totally agree. We do effectively have a whole new team.

6.) 15 Jul 2018 13:25:11
Anderson bubuelana willsher diop fredericks yarmelenko all great and more to come seems like last years protest have done the trick were getting now getting what we was promised 3 years ago COYI.

7.) 15 Jul 2018 13:35:10
Bonzo it’s not just a question of promise this is a direct result of moving to a much bigger stadium more seats more sales more merchandising more advettisimg equals more profits having spent to equal the outgoings last two seasons we are spending the profits in advance for the forthcoming season. IRONMIKE.

24 Jul 2017 21:25:06
Finally seen chicharito in a west ham shirt what a relief to get him over the line with no hiccups.

Now who's next?

1.) 24 Jul 2017 21:42:31
Absolutely thrilled that chicarito has signed
if I'm honest didn't think it would happen.
We are looking like a better starting 11 and
a better squad than last year!

2.) 24 Jul 2017 22:44:45
We have put in a bid of 10 mill euros to Genoa for Diego Laxalt he is a 24 year old winger who the brought of inter last summer he didn't have the best of seasons with them but he has got talent and could be a good back up for arnoutovic on the left so hopefully more signings, our squad is looking strong and I do believe we can challenge for Europe next season.

3.) 24 Jul 2017 23:23:58
I would like us to get Diego Laxalt but there is a player who I thought had a good season in a rubbish team and That's Sam clucas of hull and he would only cost about 5-6 mill could be good back up to arnoutovic and I know u will prob think it could be snodgrass all over again but I think he has great potential, jota would be a good buy aswell but I have got this feeling we will put a bid of 20 mill for wilshire and ger to the club him and his family love and maybe he can show us what talent he truly is, it's just going to be interesting who we might get next.

4.) 24 Jul 2017 23:29:07
Not much to compare against if you consider last years team but I agree. I believe four more signings to follow. I think a CB, DM, AM and a GK.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 06:20:56
This was David golds Twitter message I just hope it don't indicate that there won't be no more signings. A great window. A big thank you to David Sullivan, Slaven Bilic, Tony Henri, Andrew Pincher and the team. dg. Me personally recon there will be atleast 2-3 more signings in another striker, a left winger and cm.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 14:04:48
They are working on a one out one in basis now we have hit our wage cap and have a 25 man squad.

7.) 25 Jul 2017 16:24:33
Yes, so now I reckon they'll be some heart-break as we're likely to lose some of our heroes. Adrian is strongly fancied to leave, probably Cresswell, Kouyate, Antonio could be on the list?

8.) 25 Jul 2017 17:58:03
Cresswell, kouyate and Antonio won't be going anywhere? Where did you even come up with that? Who would replace them? We have no cover in these areas. 👎👎👎⚒⚒.

are any CDM's being targeted? looks as though Arnie will be up top next season. We Seem to be going for so many attacking players. would like to see some money go to bringing a quality CDM to replace the ageing pair of noble and kouyate.

05 Jun 2018 21:11:40
wonder if this was possible.

In :-

Felipe Anderson
Pastore (if failing gomes)
adama traore

fredericks signed*
Marlon/ Izzo/ Kasim nuhu (fella mike mentioned looks an interesting prospect) I was also hoping we would look at nordi mukiele but he's off to rb leipzig.

GK-? too many to name that are better than what we had last season.

Couple extras to consider Yaya toure, wilshire both on Free's

I'd even take Ravel back too.

Hernandez (huge wage could be put to better use)
Kouyate (worst season for us got some unfair stick at times but easily upgraded)
Reid (injury prone, Zouma younger and better)
Carrol ( injury huge wage)
Hugill ( never had a chance)
Antonio ( love him but adama is an upgrade may be better to cash in on him now before his ham string gets even worse)
Evra- end of contract
mario- end of loan
hart- end of loan
Ginger Pele - end of contract

Obiang and or fernandes could be surplus to requirements depending on incomings.

with that many off the wage bill I think we would be able to get in quality players. maybe they won't quite be pastore and anderson. but there is others available. fingers crossed we can get our top targets but judging by mikes posts some are already looking out our grasp or falling out of favour eg marlon.

1.) 07 Jun 2018 10:52:46
Goodness Al, Sullivan find it hard to sign a couple players in window, this would take 4 seasons at Sullivans rate.

2.) 07 Jun 2018 19:20:15
haha very true! hopefull we've turned a corner with the pellegrini era.

08 May 2018 19:41:47
who would you prefure to go down out of swansea and Southampton? i'm thinking southampton just because of hughes being a classless turd.

and who would you take from the potential relegated or relegated clubs. I think badou ndiaye would be a good shout definitely upgrade on kouyate, he's averaged just under 4 tackles a game for stoke has much better passing stats too technically a lot better.

Kurt zouma should be high on our wanted list too anyone shed any light on if chelsea want to sell?

1.) 08 May 2018 20:03:51
Just glad it’s not us ( this year ) about to get asset stripped . What happened to players that stayed? Mercenary world but it is what it is .

2.) 09 May 2018 14:30:28
I'd love Southampton because watching that game yesterday there's a player we should go for JACK STEPHEN'S centre half who if relegated would be more gettable watching yesterday's game he was awesome and a great talent.

3.) 09 May 2018 17:33:07
If it's Swansea I'd take Alfie Mawson.

02 May 2018 21:02:32
wonder If we could tempt rafa benitez offer him a huge amount of money to rebuild our team. there's no doubt we need some fresh blood, a younger more balanced squad. but i also think there are some players who a lot of fans want rid of because the manager isn't getting the best out of those players.

There is still a lot of doom and gloom around the west ham sites. we have had some terrible luck this season important decisions going against us. I seen a lot of negative posts about the man city performance. If arnies goal stood it would have been differnt game not to mention there first 2 goals were from awful deflections. we had a really good spell before the half and really took the game to them which is a lot more than teams have done against city this season.

we were also unlucky against arsenal and stoke we were well in a game against arsenal and crumbled after 80 mins due to rices error.

we should be safe by now and really getting into gear and working on transfers. unfortantely i think we will fall even further behind and i'm not optimistic sullivan and dithering dave will be able to deliver on any of that.

1.) 03 May 2018 07:37:38
Not sure why Benitez would be interested at the moment Al, leave a steady ship for one that’s hits holes in it and half a crew, I would like him though mate, but there are lots out there that would think him the wrong man .

2.) 03 May 2018 21:37:22
no I don't think so either has a very good relationship with the fans there If mike ashley stumps up the cash newcastle have huge potential to become a force again.

28 Apr 2018 14:56:06
Would like us to move for Kurt zouma beast at the back right age too with prem experience. personally think he's better than Mawson, Dunk, Gibson.

Wonder If we will go back in for adama traore we lack raw pace and power without Antonio. now he's finding his end product he could become a great player.

Would also take Ravel morrison back on a loan to buy.

1.) 28 Apr 2018 15:27:12
latest scores not great palace in front saints winning also come on AFC AND LEICESTER.

2.) 28 Apr 2018 15:44:02
Come on everton huddersfields remaining games are MAN CITY CHELSEA AND ARSENAL so can't see them getting anything there I think a point and we will be ok anyway we will beat EVERTON last game at hone and I think we will get a point at Leicester. COYI.

3.) 28 Apr 2018 16:13:05
we are going to beat city anyway don't worry!

4.) 28 Apr 2018 16:14:12
Let’s just hope that last game isn’t a do or die one mate, big sam would enjoy sending us down.

Perez a steal at 4m I think he's a pellegrini type player could see him up top with Arnautovic in a 4222.

Underwhelmed by the Sanchez signing what sort of money are we talking for him? he's not a bad squad player technically he's better than kouyate.

It would have been nice to get a new quality cdm/ cm.

Obiang on his day has looks like a baller bit rusty in pre season but mind was on the move back to sampdoria. sure pellegrini will get fighting for his place. leaves us with Noble Rice wilshere obiang and possibly Sanchez. which is better than what we had.

what's the latest on fernandes?

They are both pretty cheap in today's market unsure on the extent of welbecks injuries though. Perez was good in la liga what happened to him? the problem at the moment is financial fair play and that we have an opportunity to get better players in for now.

You can watch the games on west hams Facebook page was a live stream but you can watch it from the start and see for yourself. I've been watching the games and you can see glimpses of quality made a superb tackle against Mainz in the last minute to stop them scoring. he does look tidy defensively but as Mike mentioned on the banter page the distribution has been a bit iffy but it's not simple passes that have given away possession but he's made some decent forward plays too.

As for diop he's strong in the tackle no messing about I think he will only up his game in the prem and be even stronger in the challenge. I'm looking forward to it let's hope they can hit the ground running I'm feeling confident they will, Its easy to forget diop is only 21 he's a beast. Balbuena at 26 is coming into his peak too. Only time will tell not long now buzzing for it although we could possibly do with abit more pre season. shame we didn't see more of Holland in the last few games of pre season.

Really don't want sturaro he's an engine but not much else for me, maia is a much better option.

Are we in for both?

Mike realistically do you think we could get Maia, moukdoudi and Gomez.

don't think we've seen our strongest 11 just yet. pellegrini knows what he's doing. I'd much rather see Antonio miss an open goal in pre-season he'll know for next time when it really matters.

I think with the defenders its the same they are trying hard passes its not like they are giving away simple balls. some of the passes were quite audacious best to know your limits now? only guna make you sharper and work harder.

there are positives too how good is fredericks? absolute bargain. they are good players i think you can see the quality just need time to gel.

Not to mention our transfer business isn't over yet. Liverpool isn't the ideal first game but it just might be players are going to relish the opportunity to play against them on there debut and if we get at them and attack we will cause them problems.

whorya66 where did you find these stats?

Take a look at whoscored that gives you all the stats avg per game.

defensive/ attacking, how many times they lost the ball. how many dribbles. how many key passes. pass acc percentage. avg amount passes per game.

I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm sure there is a video of pellegrini talking about formations he said the formation doesn't matter Its the approach which is to always attack.

Personally I do think Arnautovic will be up top I think he thrives on being the main man up there and has often been critised in the past for his defensive work rate. i'd just keep him up top let him cause havoc he's got all the attributes to be a top striker.

Rondon is going cheap he's a unit and he's not slow. done a lot on scraps at west brom think he would be succesful with Arnie anderson wilshire yarmolenko creating for him. reasonably priced too if reports are to be believed.
