My take on the game yesterday. no striker played from the start was a massive mistake, Potter obvs isn't happy with hos 2 choices so why all summer did we hear he didn't want another striker?
Playing the midfield 2 of JWP and Soucek hasn't worked for the last year yet he continues to pick the 2 of them and leave young Potts on the bench even afrer a lively pre season!
The new keeper is ****, we are so vunerable whenever the ball is near the box i'm expecting it to hit the net.
Why can't we header a ball or defend a corner!?!
There as some positives like diouf and summerville down the left and fernandes and magassa both looked decent yday too.

Agree with most of that, but thought magassa looked well off the pace to be honest

CHRIS mate, don’t get taken in, with “ didn’t need another striker “ of course he did! any manager would, Sullivan said NO, that’s it, dress it up any way you want says Sullivan, no more players, we need (. He needs ) to save 500 k a week in wage revenues, he has got those savings, and now you can see the net result, the problems created are now coming home to roost, it’s that simple
Couple that with a ridiculous appointment of a manager, who’s whole aura is totally unsuitable to West Ham, and that combination has got us to where we are, I saw this from the off, it was so predictable, there are still one or two delusional fans, but 99% now have got the picture
Potters last game next Saturday, if we lose definitely, but then what?
There's no miracle workers out there, it’s a poor uncompetitive squad
Massive task, for the next manager in

I disagree with the part about an uncompetitive squad. We do have talent in there its just a few key positions we are not strong enough. Like our CB pairings are bottom 5 prem and our strikeforce aswell.

Trouble is, we all know what’s going to happen. We’ll avoid defeat and Potter will bleat on about how the team has overcome its problems. Little Legs will not sack him and the merry-go-round starts again.

I have to say I was happy with Potter getting the job and advocated giving him the summer to get his team and ideas in place however feel I now have a battery farms worth of egg on my face. The guy is absolutely clueless! Starts with Souchek and W-P with the latter staying on the pitch until 91 minutes ….it’s a joke, why can’t this bloke see that this player is Championship level at best. As for set pieces, Kudus’ corners for Spurs were far better and it highlights that JWP is holding back better younger players ….I’m sick of seeing him playing negative passes when he’s not playing with his receding fringe! I’ve always had a soft spot for Souchek but he let everybody down yesterday. Positives . Fernandes, Summerville looked good Magassa looks potentially good. As for the defence is it too late to get a couple of freebies as Denayer, Tomiyasu and Dawson are all available ….

Agree with the majority of the comments. It does seem last weeks performance was a one off. Even though I thought the first half wasn’t too bad yesterday His player selection is poor. He seems to have hindered our youth rather than encouraged it and he is generally out of his depth. He also seems to fall out with anybody who speaks their mind and bears grudges.
Having said all that the thing that worries me is we are almost certain to start the cycle again because one of the jokers on the board will appoint an out of work manager. Sean Dyche or Steve Cooper will be as bad if not worse than Potter. Jose, or Nuno would be better but IMO would be a sticking plaster, not long term. We need someone with a long term vision who WILL play the youth and bring them through .The squad isn’t great but man for man I don’t think it is bad as bottom 3 . There must be a young manager out there in Europe with these qualities.

Joyfull, give the everything is Sully's fault a rest. Potter is the one who was to blame, picking a team with no striker, no hands in goal and handbrake playing again, Then Soucek getting sent off, instead of changing the personal before they could take the freekick he doesn't, and the rest is history. Most of what goes wrong at the club is Sully and the Brady bunches fault but not yesterday. No hands should not have started, JWP should not have started, Soucek should not have started. Either fab or Areola should have started as No hands cannot control his area, is too small and slight and gets blocked in on corners, no coincidence that over half the goals have come from corners, add to that zonal marking and there is the problem. Should have played Magassa and Fernandes, Paqueta, Summerville, Bowen and Wilson up front. Would probably been a completely different game as first half we did okay apart from score, with an actual striker we probably would have done. Potter has to go, he can't see what is going wrong in a game and when he finally does the substitutions are all wrong. Why risk Wilson at 68 mins when already 3 down, sorry Potter is a clown. Potter is a champ manager at best and no hands, and JWP would struggle in a champ team. I rest my case.

There is either Roger Schmidt or Marco Rose, both 100 times better than Potter. Marco Rose for me as his teams play attractive attacking football. Having said that Schmidt is probably a better tactician. Either for me please Mr Sullivan.

To be fair, Gerry, I think Joyfull is saying that, but is pointing out that we are in this position as a result of Sullivan’s greed and mismanagement.
Your two suggestions for Potter’s replacement are both good and would be an upgrade on what we have, but then again, who wouldn’t be? This time though, I wish we’d consider all suitable coaches, including those currently in post. It’s not going to happen with Sullivan in charge. Even with a new coach, I fear it wouldn’t be enough. We need a total overhaul with the appointment of a director of football and a change in the boardroom.

We can throw manager's names around until we're all blue in the face, but the cold hard truth is - IF and when Sullivan finally decides that Potter actually isn't a very good manager at all and sacks him, then the replacement will be Sean Dyche.

Following the Spurs third goal, Alan Smith commented “It’s painful to watch.” He’s quite right, but what was really painful was the spectacle of Potter on the sideline looking totally bereft of ideas, and Sullivan and Brady, both sitting with their respective partners, oblivious to the damage they have caused.
