Rumours we may be bringing in lindelof at Centre back cover. Imo awful signing but he is seen as low risk due to being free!
1.) 20 Aug 2025 12:23:34
Lots of fans out there have no confidence in this board doing anything in this window
2.) 20 Aug 2025 13:03:06
And what we have done hasn't even improved what we had, the new gk is crap areola is a better shot stopper, kwp is just a squad player, diouf at the moment is not better than Emerson and callum Wilson is finished and people wonder why fans have no faith and are negative
3.) 20 Aug 2025 13:31:34
Exactly Redrobbo. It's a shambles. The entire summer to do business and they expect us to believe the latest "multiple bids in" BS.
Hear the same every window. Focus is on midfield but we need a striker with pace have they forgot
4.) 20 Aug 2025 14:11:33
I disagree, I think Hermansen and Diouf have improved the squad. Mads had little to no time to train with the defenders, Emerson hasn't been the same since our 2023 Europa win. KWP adds pace and cover which is needed. Hopefully we can add at least 2 midfielders soon.
Agree Wilson is not really what we needed, but low risk contract for when he inevitably gets injured.
5.) 20 Aug 2025 16:27:30
IS YOUR REAL name Yorkie Sullivan ?
6.) 20 Aug 2025 17:20:34
Have to agree with Robbo the keeper was at fault for the 1st and 3rd goal Saturday. I don’t know how tall he is but looks like he needs help covering the goal. He may come good but a disaster of a debut and shouldn’t have been put in the team so quick.
Diouf looks alright at crossing the ball but defensively looks suspect, again could Come good. But we should be playing Scarles but as usual our managers talk about playing youth but drop them like a stone. If Scarles isn’t playing left back or left wing back I would see if we can play him in Aguerd position as he seems disinterested and an accident waiting to happen….
7.) 20 Aug 2025 18:37:31
Yeah started off with excellent save, that was it, totally correct on goals 1 and 3, can’t see Areola conceding those
8.) 20 Aug 2025 19:05:36
Maybe not but Areola gives away silly mistakes which lead to goals and can’t use his feet. Not fair to judge Hermansen so negatively after only one game

Recruitment over the years has been shocking. 30+ million on kilman, todibo and aguerd for examples at the back and even mavro at 18mil was too much when you consider we were linked with players like Huijsen and senesi that both went to bournemouth for cheaper. Up top all the money 'wasted' on Haller, scamacca etc.
I was hoping this window we would try to follow the brighton model and bring through some unknown players which to a degree we have with Diouf and Magassa as i hadnt heard of either (probably as FM25 never came around lol)
1.) 15 Sep 2025 08:03:47
It wasn't for the want of trying that's for sure. POTTER and Mcaulay identified some good young prospects, if your majority owner had other ideas wgat can you do.
Regardless of who the manager is, how long have we the fans been shouting out for a striker with pace? How long have we been shouting out the midfield is too old and has no legs?
JWP went to Forest last season and NUNO saw him for what he was worth and wasn't played. We get him back and he's a regular starter? That speaks volumes in itself.
I'm sick of hearing us linked with 40, 50, 60 players every window. Always in talks or advanced talks and then nothing happens. Yes, some of it is agents and tabloids, but a lot of it is board BS so the fans think they are doing stuff.
The training facilities are a joke at this level.
I'm sick of hearing talk about "we've drawn up a shortlist of managers to take over"? If they going to sack him, then sack him. Stop about just to get headlines in the press
Sick of us being the joke of the Premier league run by clowns. Time for major changes to this club are here and now and we have to show the board how pissed off we are
2.) 15 Sep 2025 16:28:12
Hi chris got to disagree with you on HALLER there was a player there mate it was he was used wrongly by inept managers you buy players to fit into your team and he was used as a no9 because he was 6ft 3in but was use to playing in a 2 or 3 sometimes up front.COYI⚒️⚒️⚒️
3.) 15 Sep 2025 16:34:07
Spot on mac3 we have portacabins as training facilities a club the DWARF values at 800m+ do me a favour more than Everton we don't own our ground facilities are league 1 standard no this is the DWARF pricing possible investors or buyers out of it and until this happens WHUFC will continue to lose its identity.COYI⚒️⚒️⚒️
4.) 15 Sep 2025 17:24:18
I think you’ll find Chelsea, Newcastle and Man City don’t own their stadiums either. You’re right about Rush Green and portacabins. However, it’s the global commercial value of WHU that Little Legs is reluctant to lose.
14 Sep 2025 06:08:51
My take on the game yesterday. no striker played from the start was a massive mistake, Potter obvs isn't happy with hos 2 choices so why all summer did we hear he didn't want another striker?
Playing the midfield 2 of JWP and Soucek hasn't worked for the last year yet he continues to pick the 2 of them and leave young Potts on the bench even afrer a lively pre season!
The new keeper is ****, we are so vunerable whenever the ball is near the box i'm expecting it to hit the net.
Why can't we header a ball or defend a corner!?!
There as some positives like diouf and summerville down the left and fernandes and magassa both looked decent yday too.
1.) 14 Sep 2025 09:05:24
Agree with most of that, but thought magassa looked well off the pace to be honest
2.) 14 Sep 2025 09:42:50
CHRIS mate, don’t get taken in, with “ didn’t need another striker “ of course he did! any manager would, Sullivan said NO, that’s it, dress it up any way you want says Sullivan, no more players, we need (. He needs ) to save 500 k a week in wage revenues, he has got those savings, and now you can see the net result, the problems created are now coming home to roost, it’s that simple
Couple that with a ridiculous appointment of a manager, who’s whole aura is totally unsuitable to West Ham, and that combination has got us to where we are, I saw this from the off, it was so predictable, there are still one or two delusional fans, but 99% now have got the picture
Potters last game next Saturday, if we lose definitely, but then what?
There's no miracle workers out there, it’s a poor uncompetitive squad
Massive task, for the next manager in
3.) 14 Sep 2025 10:39:50
I disagree with the part about an uncompetitive squad. We do have talent in there its just a few key positions we are not strong enough. Like our CB pairings are bottom 5 prem and our strikeforce aswell.
4.) 14 Sep 2025 11:16:22
Trouble is, we all know what’s going to happen. We’ll avoid defeat and Potter will bleat on about how the team has overcome its problems. Little Legs will not sack him and the merry-go-round starts again.
5.) 14 Sep 2025 12:59:30
I have to say I was happy with Potter getting the job and advocated giving him the summer to get his team and ideas in place however feel I now have a battery farms worth of egg on my face. The guy is absolutely clueless! Starts with Souchek and W-P with the latter staying on the pitch until 91 minutes ….it’s a joke, why can’t this bloke see that this player is Championship level at best. As for set pieces, Kudus’ corners for Spurs were far better and it highlights that JWP is holding back better younger players ….I’m sick of seeing him playing negative passes when he’s not playing with his receding fringe! I’ve always had a soft spot for Souchek but he let everybody down yesterday. Positives . Fernandes, Summerville looked good Magassa looks potentially good. As for the defence is it too late to get a couple of freebies as Denayer, Tomiyasu and Dawson are all available ….
6.) 14 Sep 2025 14:11:24
Agree with the majority of the comments. It does seem last weeks performance was a one off. Even though I thought the first half wasn’t too bad yesterday His player selection is poor. He seems to have hindered our youth rather than encouraged it and he is generally out of his depth. He also seems to fall out with anybody who speaks their mind and bears grudges.
Having said all that the thing that worries me is we are almost certain to start the cycle again because one of the jokers on the board will appoint an out of work manager. Sean Dyche or Steve Cooper will be as bad if not worse than Potter. Jose, or Nuno would be better but IMO would be a sticking plaster, not long term. We need someone with a long term vision who WILL play the youth and bring them through .The squad isn’t great but man for man I don’t think it is bad as bottom 3 . There must be a young manager out there in Europe with these qualities.
7.) 14 Sep 2025 16:38:26
Joyfull, give the everything is Sully's fault a rest. Potter is the one who was to blame, picking a team with no striker, no hands in goal and handbrake playing again, Then Soucek getting sent off, instead of changing the personal before they could take the freekick he doesn't, and the rest is history. Most of what goes wrong at the club is Sully and the Brady bunches fault but not yesterday. No hands should not have started, JWP should not have started, Soucek should not have started. Either fab or Areola should have started as No hands cannot control his area, is too small and slight and gets blocked in on corners, no coincidence that over half the goals have come from corners, add to that zonal marking and there is the problem. Should have played Magassa and Fernandes, Paqueta, Summerville, Bowen and Wilson up front. Would probably been a completely different game as first half we did okay apart from score, with an actual striker we probably would have done. Potter has to go, he can't see what is going wrong in a game and when he finally does the substitutions are all wrong. Why risk Wilson at 68 mins when already 3 down, sorry Potter is a clown. Potter is a champ manager at best and no hands, and JWP would struggle in a champ team. I rest my case.
8.) 14 Sep 2025 16:56:46
There is either Roger Schmidt or Marco Rose, both 100 times better than Potter. Marco Rose for me as his teams play attractive attacking football. Having said that Schmidt is probably a better tactician. Either for me please Mr Sullivan.
9.) 14 Sep 2025 17:38:59
To be fair, Gerry, I think Joyfull is saying that, but is pointing out that we are in this position as a result of Sullivan’s greed and mismanagement.
Your two suggestions for Potter’s replacement are both good and would be an upgrade on what we have, but then again, who wouldn’t be? This time though, I wish we’d consider all suitable coaches, including those currently in post. It’s not going to happen with Sullivan in charge. Even with a new coach, I fear it wouldn’t be enough. We need a total overhaul with the appointment of a director of football and a change in the boardroom.
10.) 14 Sep 2025 17:51:37
We can throw manager's names around until we're all blue in the face, but the cold hard truth is - IF and when Sullivan finally decides that Potter actually isn't a very good manager at all and sacks him, then the replacement will be Sean Dyche.
11.) 14 Sep 2025 18:02:29
Following the Spurs third goal, Alan Smith commented “It’s painful to watch.” He’s quite right, but what was really painful was the spectacle of Potter on the sideline looking totally bereft of ideas, and Sullivan and Brady, both sitting with their respective partners, oblivious to the damage they have caused.
31 Aug 2025 21:45:54
Not a rumour. just watched inter v udinese. Keinan Davis up front former villa kid would do a good job for us, could do the antonio role?
31 Aug 2025 20:13:57
From what i saw today i have belief we can stay up. The fact Potter changed up the formation was a massove difference and i give him credit for that.
Fernandes made such a difference in the middle, he took people on to progress the ball forward, he was pressing a lot hogher up. 433 is the way forward and a midfield 3 of magassa, fernandes and paqueta will be solid with summerville and bowen on the wings.
Still feel we need to shift aguerd on, bring in another centre mid, move on rodriquez, cornet, irving, jwp (only one i can't see going). Keep soucek for impact from bench from set peices and bring in amother centre mid and a pacey striker.
1.) 31 Aug 2025 21:25:58
I’d agree with all those with the exception of Andy Irving he isn’t fantastic but he does a decent job and his wages are small so I can’t see why we want to move him on.
Fab that we win away, Spurs lose at home just a shame the international break gets in the way of a possible bit of momentum
2.) 31 Aug 2025 22:07:44
We could double Irvings wages and he'd still be a bargain, I just don't understand why we'd ship him out, may not start now Magassa is in but abetter option from the bench than JWP or Rodriguez. If Magassa has to drop into CB for any reason, Potts and Irving give us competence
3.) 01 Sep 2025 04:13:06
Only reason i would sell irving is to give potts more gane time. Feel like the boy deserves his chance.
4.) 01 Sep 2025 22:01:50
With the traffic cones (JWP and Rodders) blocking them both. We'll just have to hope Potter see's the light or the Exit door
30 Aug 2025 00:00:40
Kante scored again for the u21s. that's 3 goals in 4 games. He looks to have aloooot of potential, hopefully he is well coached this season and can impact our first team next year. Or maybe a loan to a championship team from Jan?
1.) 30 Aug 2025 08:05:01
Seconded.
2.) 30 Aug 2025 12:02:13
Or if Arsenal can play 15 year olds put him straight into the squad
3.) 30 Aug 2025 18:27:42
Imo he is too raw for the first team currentlty. And if the manager isn't even using potts or orford what's the chances anyway
4.) 31 Aug 2025 01:06:43
He'll be playing for a Championship team next year, we should at least see if he has the quality for the Premier League this season, if only a couple of cameos
09 Sep 2025 13:00:54
Would be an amazing 3rd choice keeper. Definitely an upgrade.
01 Sep 2025 17:39:17
Our hopes will be on the markets that don't close at 7pm today! Like turkey
01 Sep 2025 17:22:32
I watch a lot of serie A, when he was with fiorentina he was a beast but he does make the odd clanger. Will be competition for lcb with kilman, todibo and mavro rcb.
29 Aug 2025 20:26:34
Oh i'm also glad. I think we need to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation and would need cover for both wings behind bowen and summerville/ luis guillerme.
29 Aug 2025 12:30:08
Totally agree with the above teamsheet tbh. We desperately need a centre back who can head a ball though. Once the decision was made to loan out casey (i agree with it) we shoulda been in the market for a centre back.
But the above formation works - 4-2-3-1
30 Sep 2025 09:41:45
Fullkrug has had enough chances and should be moved on in Jan for whatever we can get for him. We need a young, pacey striker so give marshall chances till jan
29 Sep 2025 15:32:20
He had him on loan and discarded him after 10 games. Hopefully he has seen enough to know on the pitch he is one of the bigger problems.
29 Sep 2025 07:51:20
Firstly you can't even spell the name of 1 of the managers you want to hire, secondly why would either of them trade their current clubs for us? Thirdly after getting rid of potter and all the backroom staff and the compo it would cost it was always clear the board would bring in someone not under contract so it was always unrealistic to expect that.
The boards sole aim is survival in the prem at this point which is really sad, when we won the conference that was our time to push on and strngth the squad but Moyes/board didn't bring in quite a lot of brilliant players we were linked with and flogged the same 11 every week.
15 Sep 2025 04:19:45
We have been soundly beaten 3 times due to decisions made by Potter regarding his on field team selections. I said we can be competitive as i do think we have some quality in the squad but i did also highlight weaknesses in the squad in key areas like goalkeeper being rubbish, Centre backs beiing low quality for prem and also no young pacey striker. that said if Potter made different decisions regarding on field personnel i still think we can be competitive. He played Potts all pre season yet he had hardly had a sniff whilst Jwp and soucek and even rodriguez have had more game time!
14 Sep 2025 10:39:50
I disagree with the part about an uncompetitive squad. We do have talent in there its just a few key positions we are not strong enough. Like our CB pairings are bottom 5 prem and our strikeforce aswell.
