So, if I have read correctly it seems they have given moyes a target of 5 points from the next 3 games. These are Arsenal, Brentford and Leeds. If we do get relegated it will be financial armageddon for the club

Sadly, it’s looking more and more like relegation is on the cards. This world cup break would have been an ideal time to bed in a new coach, without the pressure of getting points from matches. Moyes is destined to go because he’s plainly out of his depth. Unfortunately, the hesitation by our board is leaving it too late to save our premiership status and with it the club.

It's OK he will sign Michael Keane in January and we will fly up the league.

Would be typical that we would beat arsenal. They are due a loss.

Added to the failed Michael Keane, the latest possibilty to save us is yet another failure at centre back, Nat Phillips at Liverpool.
And Moyes has this to say:
“I put an awful lot of hours in, and I work hard at the club. We do everything we can, and we will be doing the same during this break….”
If all that hard work results in our current situation, please stay away, Mr Moyes. We’d obviously not do worse if you took a lengthy holiday.
Another gem from the Scottish oracle is that he’s woken up to the fact that we need goals to get results! Who would have guessed? Antonio can’t score because he’s not a striker, and Scamacca can’t score if he doesn’t get service. It’s also very difficult to score a goal sitting on the subs bench. It’s not rocket science, but it seems to have passed our manager by, way over his head. Everyone can see our manager is so far out of his depth in the premiership that he needs a ladder to keep his head above water.

I think nate Phillips would be a good Dawson replacement

The only problem with that is we don’t need another bloody centre back. We’re awash with them. We need someone who can score goals and two or three wing backs.

The simple answer is play 2 up top. It is not rocket science. Whether it is Scammaca with Antonio or Fornals. We have so many midfielders and defenders, therefore, goals are required. I have said previously:
3-5-2
Ariola

Zouma
Aguerd
Dawson

Rice
Benny
Bowen
Downes
Pacquetta

Scammaca
Fornals

This line-up would give us legs, energy, attack and defence. It would not just be defence.

Tinny, So Moyes “works hard and puts long hours in” what is his idea of hard work I wonder? Millions of self employed work far harder than he will ever know, no work no money, self bloody praise to justify his £5m earnings, makes me want to puke!
If he was producing results, different matter, so what is he doing with all these hours put in, also what is his entourage doing, all jobs for the boys who follow him around being “yes” men staying in overpaid employment on contracts! I would like to know why Stuart Pearce left, I can’t help wondering if it was because of a conflict of opinion with DM on tactics?

I think new manager needed now. Let moyes leave and offload the bad signings he made (kehrer fir instance). Bring fresh faces with pace in, full backs, proper wingers and 2 strikers. Retire Antonio and Cresswell, soucek. Have a good talk with Ashby and go again on January

I’d keep Soucek and play him in his preferred position. It might work, it might not, but no player can be a lethal goal machine like he was in his first season and then totally turn it off. There’s a reason for it - Moyes. I’d give Paqueta more freedom and drop Cresswell and Lanzini. Fornals can’t hit a barn door lit up in neon lights, so he needs intensive target practice. He also needs beefing up to prevent him being so easily knocked off the ball. I’d drop Antonio and look for a replacement real striker. I’d give Benrahma the encouragement he deserves. I’d also promote Ashby, Scarles and Muwamba to the first team squad. I’d let Dawson go and drop Johnson. Antonio could be used in his correct position of wing back. Rice also needs playing as a defensive midfielder and stop trying to turn him into an attacker. Oh, and I’d stick a size 10 boot up Moyes’ arse out the nearest door and get someone in whose got ideas and prem management skills. Just a few suggestions.

@Markwhu, sorry don't see Bowen or Benny being very good wingbacks or Fornals playing as a striker.
My team would be 3-4-2-1, Areola, LCB Aguerd, CB Zouma, RCB Kehrer, LWB Emerson, RWB Johnson or Ashby, Rice, Paqueta, Benny, Antonio or Bowen and Scamacca. This is a very attack minded formation with the benefit of 5 at the back when needed.
This formation was used to great effect by Arsene Wenger in their invisible season.
Your teams and formations anyone?

I like the formation, however, I'd bring in new full backs. So I would have areola .Dawson/Phillips, zouma, ogbonna. Wing backs i'd have borna sosa and joakim maehle. RICE, PAQUETA floating, benrahma, noa lang or Martin terrier, with scamacca up front

Nice thoughts Oshee but I think in Jan they will give Moyes ten bob to spend plus what ever we get for Dawson. That is why this is all so stupid, out Moyes now and get new manager to work with players and line up their own signings for January.

13.) 16 Nov 2022
15 Nov 2022 22:36:46
After Moyes’ spending spree in the summer, all we’ve got left is a book of green shield stamps. I’d use that as compensation for Moyes and let the new manager work with our current pool of players, minus a few sales.

Interesting to read that Moyes is eyeing Micheal Keane, Nat Phillips and AAron Long (all centre backs) for Jan window? No mention anywhere of full backs. Unbelievable

Your point still stands up; perhaps Davy should be watching the World Cup to see if he can dig up some possible FB targets come January ( when things will only just be getting back to "normal" then, if England has a long run to the Final).

16.) 28 Nov 2022
28 Nov 2022 17:51:48
I'd play a 4-1-3-1-1 Areola,kehrer,zouma,ageurd,Emerson
Downes
Bowen,Rice,benrahma
Paqueta
Scamacca
