MICHAL ANTONIO, every WH fan , well most of them, has a soft spot for this player
The man was badly injured, recovered to a good point, though still not at top level

What is hard to fathom, is his total reluctance to take WH offer, his agent Salthouse nagged him to take, the offer, which was better than Callum Wilson, 6 months, then if all good 6 months, review possible then one year

The first 6 months WH knew he probably wouldn't be fit to play until October anyway, and still wanted to give him a contract What's wrong with that?
Antonio wanted to be reinstated at 85k a week, his contract was over, he's 35 now, what is he thinking about?
He blustered that he had many offers? He has, where are they?
Antonio got it wrong, he ignored his agents advice, and fellow professionals
It should have been him signing up not Callum Wilson, He looks to have made the wrong call

Maybe he will get pundit work, he shouldn't be short of a few quid, but what a silly ending
To his WH career

Just what is the situation with Antonio? He is still shown on the WHUFC website as our number 9. Personally, I think he was finished long before his accident.

Tin, he’s out of contract, refused the new contract offered, Wilson contract, overall a lot less money, it was Antonio’s choice, he disregarded, his agent and professional players advice, team mates included, what can you say

WH have made their plans without him, don’t see him coming back, unless something untoward happens

Bit of a shame if it eends like this Antonio has been a great servant and player that's given soo much to the club he aat least deserved a good send off, nowe we signed willson we don't need him but still a sad way to end his career with us

My opinion only, Ant can have an easy life with his punditry, podcasting etc now, no need at his age training X times weekly to keep fit, pressure of expectations from whoever your playing for, not a difficult to decision to call it a day if that’s what he chooses? He has a family and must reflect how different it could have been if he hadn’t been so fortunate in vastly unfortunate circumstances?

Why is the 9 shirt still allocated to him?

Rather have a one legged Mikey on the bench than Wilson in the treatment room we've plenty of wages saved already this summer.

I’d rather have neither.

I see nothing wrong in signing Wilson on short term contract, at least it’s another up front when he’s available! If you cannot for whatever reason get a decent Car, you get an old one, better than nothing, simple not difficult to work out!

Wilson had more yellow cards last season than goals and assists put together.
Pointless transfer, offers nothing.
The club is stale, we need a new direction and owners.

Well said H-E-C.

Give the guy a chance, he could have resigned for Newcastle on better terms but he didn't. He obviously wants to play and he is a very good striker if he can stay fit. If he can't he will just pick up his 5-10k a week. Also Marshall will learn a lot from training with him and Fulkrug. He is a hammer now so the best thing we can do is get behind him when he plays, not boo him as some fans are planning.

Gerry I wouldn't boo him but he has lost a yard of pace and hasn't scored in the prem for over a year he may very well have been a good striker 5 years ago but is not now, I think similar to Antonio he is done at Premier league level now

Gerry, well said mate, if they’re wearing a West Ham shirt then support them, if they’re feel the support then it urges them on on to perform.

Yeah Steve, Danny Ings is a prime example. ?

At £9k per week basic. Wilson’s signing is a no-brainer.

Tin legs I don’t know why you support West Ham, all you do is moan, you’ve basically written us off before the season has started ?

So what? We haven’t had much to be positive about lately, and I don’t believe in candy flossing things like some people. ? I’m a realist and when there’s something to cheer about, I’ll be first to put the bunting out. And I’ve probably supported WHU a bit longer than you, Stevie; not that it makes any difference. Opinions will always differ.

All I’m saying is, people can moan until your blue in the face it’s not going to change anything, and if potter can’t get a tune out of this team then I agree that he should be replaced but until then I think we should all stand on the terraces (or sit as the case may be) and get behind the team, a team that Sullivan is basically building and not Potter so he’s got an even harder job on his hands, oh and I’ve been supporting West Ham for 57 years it might not be as long as you but it’s long enough to have seen the good and the bad but I still get behind them.

I think all the signs are encouraging. let's just look at the dross we were dishing out last season and look at our results. The players weren't happy and neither were the fans.

Yeah Sullivan might be building this team but I can bet Potter has agreed somewhere along the line. Yes we've gone for cheap options but (joking apart) I think its been quite sensible.

Youth is finally being brought through instead of sending em out on loan and finally we have full back situation sorted.

This team is a far cry from the same rubbish that ended last season and i'm really hopeful that this is the spring board

I just checked the men’s first team squad on the WHU website and Antonio is STILL shown as our number 9, and Wilson is shown, but with no shirt number. Very strange.
