Don't let your heads get turned by the big spenders in the transfer window! I have a feeling some managers made "panic buys" to purely appease desperate supporters. QPR are proof that bags of new signings do not guarantee top flight football, we need continuity now!

I would rather see West Ham financially stabilise the club, (we still have a massive debt the clear before moving to the Olympic Stadium) than follow the paths of Portsmouth & Coventry City.
Let's give Sam the time to mould the squad, and strengthen if required in January.
Also, Gold & Sullivan aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they are proud Hammer's fans trying to save the club from the mess they inherited.

Now let's get behind the boys, and out-sing the rest of the Premier League!

Agreed.

David Gold is a Hammer but Sullivan is a Cardiff city boy!

Time to get behind the club fellas. got a pretty good squad. need to find the net more often. that's all. coyi

The glass is half full guys

It's easy to make out that everything's all good but are you forgetting the stoke game? We were out passed and out classed by STOKE, everyone is behind the team but think we get fed up of seeing BFS with his one dimensional style of play and no plan b when things aren't working. So stay on your high horse telling everyone to get behind the team when you need to be more realistic and realise we' re in trouble and ultimately if we stay in the prem it will be a successful season so we haven't pushed on from last season we've gone backwards. Hope we stay up COYI

Well well. shock horror. the owners lied to all the west ham supporters
during the summer. their pathetic smokescreen lies about players
being bid for fooled some. but not the majority of hammers fans.
An absolute disgrace

Cant disagree with any of that. Which is quite sad really. Long long season ahead

Afraid I have to agree. Despite what we've been told abouit paying off Sheff Utd etc. We've had all summer to negotiate a deal with the right striker and still nothing done. OK, its no use crying over spilt milk we just got to get on with it

Only one word for west ham. SHOCKING. The worst thing they EVER did was allow Sam Allardyce to buy Andy Carroll. £15m of our budget blown and then to add salt to the wounds spend your remaining budget on another winger Stewart Downing and now we are looking at C. COle to come back what a piss take

If the F_ _ Kin board were so restricted by FFP then where are Carlton COle's wage demands coming from cause he wants £50k a week and your telling me we couldn't get a Vydra, RHodes or Quag for those wgaes. REALLY!

Sylvain Ebanks Blake? Mido? Carlton Cole? yes these are the names we are now restricted to!

Id take Blake, he's quick and can score a goal. maybe 4-4-2 with him or Vaz Te alongside Carroll might nick us a few more goals before the Jan transfer window

Keep positive and cross those fingers, we are going to need a bit of luck to stay up there before the new year

What a joke, but, to quote The Smiths, that joke ain't funny anymore, it's too close to home and too near the bone!

The window has closed and unless transfer papers have been couriered in secret, Sullivan, Gold & Allardyce haves decided that plan B really is one plan too many. We have Andy Carroll, so why do we need anybody else?

True Carroll is injury prone. True we have lost 5 points already because we have nobody to play up top when Carroll is injured. And true Carroll tends to have barren spells even when playing. But none of that is a problem, it seems.

Who needs a striker? Who needs goals? We have Downing and Jarvis to pump the ball into the box, and the stats say that if you get the ball in the opposition box enough times in a game, you are bound to score. I mean, eventually, an opponent with nobody to mark will put the ball in his own bloody net!

This is mismanagement on a monumental scale. It threatens to be a long depressing season. And if we go down, Sullivan, Allardyce and GOLD will get exactly what they deserve and the backlash from the fans will be clear and loud!

Anyone else wishing we'd got Ameobi now! lol

NO because him cole and maiga have one thing in common their all s****

03 Sep 2013 10:08:55
well well well what a shocking yet unsuprising end to the transfer window, with the typical tv coverage where West Ham did'nt get mentioned once, no suprising since they knew what we knew no matter what the owners have said the plan was always to bring back Carlton Cole back! Wonder how much harder they would have tried if Freebe Carlto had'nt been waiting in the wings!

03 Sep 2013 09:41:07
A lot of very very bitter west ham fans out there. Especially when you consider that they wasted the last of their transfer budget on Stewart Downing who is now out for 3 weeks when we q

The west ham board never had any intention of spedning any more money on the last day. What an absolute disgrace and a sham they are. I am so disappointed in them and how long do they really think it will be before Carroll gets injured and then to think about Carlton Cole coming back is desperation. The board are full of s*** and in typical west ham fashion an joke to the rest of the league. Don;t tel me we had no money or wage cap space. They could have negotiated with Blackburn offloading some of our crap for players plus cash for Rhiodes. I hope we relegated and rot under the stewardship of FLUB SAM ALLARDYCE

If you want us to be relegated you as much of a disgrace as the club for not getting a striker yeah I am dissapointed but now I will get behind the team and support them, and shut my eyes and hope come may when I open them we are still in the prem!

Fuming is not the word I cannot beleive that we have not got in a striker, and Carlton Cole is not the answer we are stuffed, Ed has your source had any excuses out of the club! {Ed001's Note - all I got from West Ham yesterday was that they were trying to get a deal done, but wages were an issue. Tough for the clubs, if they spend too much they jeopardise their future, not investing enough leaves you in danger of sliding down the table. It is a balancing act, but West Ham are known most of all for their academy, surely this is the time to keep the squad small and look to that to fill the gaps in the squad?}

Yes Ed we were know for our academy but that was 10 years ago when other clubs where just as willing to use youngsters but now everyone buys foreign, which IMO is Halting the progress of our youngsters because a club is likely to use them when the teams we are playing against are fielding multi million pound talent.

I was looking at the final league table from last season last night and I think this is shocking.

We were 1 of only a few clubs not to improve our Forward line this summer.

Manchester United - No Forwards Signed.
Manchester City - Negredo and Jovetic.
Chelsea - Eto'o and Schurrle.
Arsenal - Sanogo.
Tottenham Hotspur - Soldado and Lamela.
Everton - Lukaku and Deulofeu.
Liverpool - Aspas.
West Bromwich Albion - Anelka, Anichebe, Sessegnon and Vydra.
Swansea City - Bony and Vazquez.
West Ham United - No Forwards Signed. We actually have Carlton Cole missing from last years squad.
Norwich City - Hooper, Kamara and Van Wolfswinkel.
Fulham - Bent, Zverotic and Trotta.
Stoke City - No Forwards Signed.
Southampton - Osvaldo.
Aston Villa - Kozak.
Newcastle United - Remy.
Sunderland - Altidore.

Then you also have significant improvements for the promoted sides as well.

How does that show ambition at the club? You don't win games if you can't score.

well why would the owners choose to take a massive risk with our pl status. last year we had 6 strikers fighting for one position last season this year another unbalanced squad.
because of a lack of striking options west ham should hold an internal inquiry into what went wrong fellow hammers save the b/s about ffp yes we are near our wage cap but we could have gone it over slightly and looked to recouped it over the following season
. carlton cole is not the answer he may have to do for now and should we find ourselves in the bottom three in january then heads most roll.
bfs must now consider playing a 442 system when ac is not fit which would maiga/vaz te /j, cole up front really p***ed of hammer

03 Sep 2013 06:36:54
as much as we wanted some new players to come into our squad, now is the right time to bring some of our youngsters and get some expierence, the young kids that come into our side will bring some pace, eagerness some new look in there, let's hope it works out for us until January window, if he bfs doesn't do it then he gets the chop/ sack.

02 Sep 2013 23:53:52
Might give BFS a call in the morning and say i'm available to play up front and don't worry about the wage cap crap i'll play for FREE!

Can't the league bring in a ruling for the fans to take a vote after a game to decide if we think our team have played well enough to receive their weekly wage?

Would that inspire a performance?

You bet your a*** it would!

Geez what a night.

02 Sep 2013 23:43:47
BFS/DG/DS should all be ashamed of yourselves, the Hammers fans pay a fortune to support their team. They pay extortionate prices for 3 kits this year, and putting the FFP rules in place 2 seasons early is disappointing.
Perhaps it would have been much better had Tony Fernandes brought our club, at least we would have some drive and ambition.
