Reported on Forza Italia Weblog and tv Italia, we've agreed a deal with Quagliarella. Only problem is, we still haven't agreed terms with Juve yet. We want a loan with option to buy, they want full transfer. let's see what happens.

Doc

1.) Its true, we have agreed terms with him and he prefers us over Norwich and Sunderland

2.) I think anyone would prefer us over Norwich and Sunderland ;)

3.) Anyone know if this guy is good not to familiar with him?

4.) He is going to choose Sunderland, as he wants to join Di Canio, who is also Italian. Fact. {Ed007's Note - I think everyone knows Di Canio is Italian, it's actually a pretty well known 'fact'.}

5.) Very tasty, with pace, power and one hell of a shot

6.) Really want this deal to be pulled off, however it won't happen unless we can free up the wages. Gold said himself we need to get rid of players in order to buy them but its ultimately down to BFS

7.) It won't happen. They need to free up wages before. If they rush it through before we could get points deduction. Same as any other signing

8.) Release Vaz Te (Carroll, Maiga, Quagriaella)

Release Collison and Taylor (Jarvis, Downing, Cole, Nolan, Noble, Morrison, Diame)

Release George McCartney (Rat, O'Brien)

Even release Spiegel / Henderson (don't need 4 goalkeepers!)

Bring in an out and out striker and another centre back in case of injury

Easier said than done, but this is basically what needs to happen in order to free up some wage bill to sneak in the additional players we need before the transfer window closes or other teams snap up our targets before we have a chance!

COYI - one last step and we have the perfect team to see out a top 10 finish this season

9.) You say release all these would you throw probably about 5m worth of talent down the drain NO! we got to just be patient sell a couple then get what we need in!

10.) Personally I rather see Diarra leave than Collison. Diarra is probably on a lot more and Collison is a decent product of our academy who can still do a job. Also, not sure how easily we could move him on anyway given his knee problem. Add to that the fact Diarra spat his dummy out last year because he didn't walk back into the after 3 months out and yes Diarra out, Collison to stay for me. Henderson, RVT, McCartney and Taylor all no brainers, they can all go if we get a bid but I wouldn't panic and let them go for nothing personally.

11.) Mad to sell Diarra if the rift has been healed, cultured passer and has the skill to hold the ball under pressure. If we get rid of his ilk our midfield will end up like the bunch of headless chickens we have had to endure too often over recent seasons. Watching Palace struggle against Spurs reminded me all too well!

12.) Diarra is also our cover cb making the no to 4 cb this wage cap has been self imposed by g/s this is due to the fact that we need to trim our debt before moving to the os

13.) I hate to say it but Taylor was woeful last season. VAz Te was lazy and not inspiring. COllison has seen better days and as much as I hate to say it I would let tomkins and McCartney go

According to tv at 10. 30, Downing deal not yet done. Personal terms, inc length of contract, still to be agreed. Fee stated to be in region of £8m! Don't shoot the messenger.

Doc

1.) Done and dusted

Apparently we're also being linked with former Chelsea & current Sporting Lisbon defender Khaled Boularouz. Can play F/B or C/B, 30+ games for Holland, & Sporting need to sell as they are in more debt than we are.

Doc

1.) Use Pelly Rudduck and L Chambers this guy will bring nothing another EProtgez

2.) Leo chambers has the potential to be a great young player for us good ball playing centre back maybe send him out on loan this season

Orlando Engelaar featuring as triallist v Bournemouth. Ex Dutch international midfielder with 14 caps, now 33. I've got a vague memory of him being a really big bloke. COYI.

Doc

1.) He's 6ft 5in. No wonder Sam likes him:) possible free replacement for GON if he does well?

2.) Oh man, please no, seen him in PSV last years and he wasn´t good enough in ED against teams like Venlo, NEC etc. I don´t want to see us playing with him against MU etc.

3.) Saw him play against Bmth and he really wasn't good enough for the PL. I hope we don't sign him.

4.) Sam really wants to give him a contract! Oh Sammy Sammy, why are you don´t looking at full backs and maybe some winger (btw, we are not interesting in Dzsudzsak yet? )

5.) Tulen, stop talking rubbish. BFS said He would be looking at Engelaar over the next few days, inc the Colchester game. How does that indicate that he "really wants to give him a contract"? Stop making up stuff and focus on rumours, not your opinions.

6.) He must have some reason to talking about quality and experiences of him, you don´t be saying that things about somebody who you don´t want.

Rumours growing that we have been talking to Liverpool about Downing. Read on Scouse sites.
IMO vastly overrated.

Doc

1.) If anything he is underrated just like big Andy due to the price tag. He very good at boro and excellent for villa.

I don't beleive we are about to pay 8m on a winger when we already have 3 and this is just twitter rumour in the mickeys website. A loan is more likely if there is any truth in this and I'd be happy with having him. Would rather have Milner but I don't beleive that rumour either

2.) Not a top team player but he is good enough for a mid table team like us. not saying I would want him though

3.) Another victim of Dalglish's overspending, doesn't fit in with a club of Liverpool's size and expectation but would definitely be a solid addition to our squad, it's player like this which make the difference between a relegation battle and a comfortable mid table finish, which is ultimately what we need until the Olympic Stadium move.

4.) Don't want him. Not worth more than 4m and he's not a top quality signing.

5.) His service and crosses to a/c was woefull at lfc, he did stat coming good to the end

6.) Don't want him/not top quality? Do you expect us to sign messi?

The likes of Milner and downing are quality for a mid table team, 1 season in the prem with little money and big fat debts! Fact is if there is truth in any if these can we afford them and are they willing to step down a level to play for us!

7.) Milner or downing would be a great signing, I agree not good enough for not champs league but when they played for villa (mid-table at the time) they stood out and got snapped up by the big clubs

8.) Agree with the post above apart from the bit about villa being mid table! When Milner snd downing were there they were challenging Europe so I would say they are better than mid table players! Either Player would walk in to our first 11, no doubt! I think we are weighing up options for both players with Milner top priority! The hard part is getting them to play for us, due to this I think downing is more likely. Would prefer Milner, he would be our best player imo

9.) Downing was signed for carroll at pool, result - no goals and no assists from downing, dalglish sacked

10.) Downing /carroll didn't work at liverpool, crossing from downing was really poor never really managed to beat 1st defender,,

Billy Bonds - Well deserved award. West ham legend.

Here's a thought, if the FFP isn't coming in for a year or so, that means we're currently operating with self imposed FFP regs. Fully support the fact we are getting our house in order, but, if this is the case, we can still buy and it gives us more time to move players on. Realistically, we can look to move on Henderson or Spiegel, McCartney, Tomkins (as long as we get a replacement), Diarra or Noble, Taylor and Vaz Te. For all of you banging on about getting a new striker, it's a matter of balancing the squad, so if it means selling Nobes & Tonks (as much as I don't want to) to raise the fee & wages, so be it, as long as the squad is strengthened. We can't have it all ways. Tony Carr has, and is, doing a brilliant job bringing youngsters through, but it's a case of "When needs must". At the moment, it's more important to secure the first team in the Prem, and we can focus on the youth later. Every club is only as good as the 1st team. Realise a lot of people won't like this, but it's just my view. COYI.

Doc

1.) This nonsense about wage limit is just because the club do not want to spend any more

of course we could lose taylor, mccartney, henderson, and vaz te
which would allow us to buy the striker we need

do not talk nonsense about selling tomkins we need 3 good centre backs
and collins is getting on tonks and reid are the future

ironworks better

2.) Good post doc some fans don't always see the big picture,
one of the reason for the self imposed ffp rules is for us to move to the os the debt against the club must be paid off.
over the next 2/3 seasons our main aim has to be to finish in the top half of the table and some good cup runs

Apparently, Russian paper Inveztia has stated we have put in a bid for Christopher Samba! Probably about as reliable as the British press rumours, but we'll see. His family still live in the UK & Anzhi are in the sh** financially. Gold has said we need to sell before we recruit, and prime target is a striker. Be happy with Samba & Cardoza personally. Well, I can dream can't I? COYI.

Right then, let's see if we can start a bit of a debate. I'll nail my colours to the mast straight away, by saying Gold & Sullivan have done a great job since they took over, IMO. They inherited a club £100 m+ in debt and going nowhere but downwards. Since then they have reduced the debt by over £30m, brokered a move to the Olympic Stadium ( increased capacity, therefore increased revenue) as well as spending millions of their own money subbing transfer fees and wages. The club is obviously being run on a budget, with an eye to further reducing the debt and turning us into a sustainable, long term proposition. When they employed BFS, I had my doubts I must admit, but he has done a terrific job - promoted in his first season and tenth in his second. He has begun to build a really good squad, but this has had to be done on a budget. Whilst I'm as frustrated as anyone else with the apparent inactivity in the transfer market this summer, we have bought an England centre forward, the captain of Rumania, and we shouldn't forget that last season he got Matt Jarvis, Mo Diame and Joe Cole. The return of Diarra and Morrison adds depth and variety to the midfield, and now Maiga has got over his malaria we may well see a new player in him. There's still over a month left in the window, so still opportunity for another signing. I find the negativity of some fans quite incredible and short sighted, and everyone needs to realise that the development and long term survival of the club is far more important than blowing money we haven't got, and putting all this in jeopardy. A weeks ago David Gold said we will make ONE marquee signing per season, so anything more than this will be a massive bonus. BFS WILL SEE US RIGHT! COYI.

Doc

1.) Well said. but as all fans believe we are as still a forward short but they do seem to know what their doing so think BFS one more signing is a smoke screen. Think we will sell at least two before window closes.

2.) Well said doc also believe some posts are not by hammers fans i'd be more than happy remy season long loan and sinclair on the wing

3.) I am with you on all aspects of this article, However we are West ham fans what what the summer be like if we didn't have the roller coaster ride that is the transfer window, its great I love the debating and the disagreeing it makes the non football season almost bearable!

4.) I do agree with you Doc our club was in a mess so we have to be eternally grateful to Gold and Sullivan for what they've done for us so far. I think that we all want to see us progress even more which is a tall order when you consider we finished tenth last season, I do wonder if we will achieve tenth or higher with the current squad and that not me being negative I just want to keep my feet on the ground. I do remeber Sullivan saying that the seven year plan for us was to get into the champions league and short term plan was to secure our immediate future which I think will be achieved with another couple of solid season in the premier league. Like everyone else we all want to see our club achieve great things and let's face it we've not been blessed with the best owners in the past so let's hope the seven year plan is a realistic vision because it would be amazing to see us at the highest level playing Barca and Madrid. Like I said I'm eternally grateful to the owners but we will need at least two more attacking options this coming season so that we do progress or the burden might be to much for Carroll to get all the goals, if Maiga can produce like he did against the saints last season it would be like signing a new player but we'll have to wait and see. We're now in for Spartak Moscows' Nigerian forward Emanuel Eminike, according to Russian press. They would want to make a profit on the £8.6m they paid for him a couple of years ago, which could rule us out. It also depends on Spartak being able to recall another of their forwards from a loan at Rostov.

Doc

1.) As always, fingers & toes crossed Doc,

But I’ve heard this lads release clause was £20mil, no idea if true, but as you said, they’d want a return on there outlay.

Same deal as Carroll last season would be fantastic.

Fortunes always hiding,

Boring, I don't think so. Everyone is entitled to their own view and opinion, and just because your opinion is different, it doesn't make it right. To say a poster on here has a hidden agenda or isn't a real fan shows a lack of tolerance of other people's views, and a blinkered outlook to say the least. Bye the way, I happen to agree with the chill out poster, if that's alright with you.

Why is everyone caning BFS for the lack of a signing? He gave Gollivan a list in the summer, and they did not land anyone. Sam, never mind what you think of his game plans, has done nothing wrong since he has been at WHU, and as for all of you who were banging on about other clubs who have strengthened compared to us, in particular Norwich, where are you now. We would all like some more options, but we all need to realise where we are in the pecking order. This isn't Fantasy Football, it's real life. You will never have to defend your decisions or opinions, because they will never be challenged on the pitch. I am amazed at the vitriol that is spouted on this site, and, frankly, am fed up with it.
