I know we need a decent goal scorer but the fact we haven't got any decent wingers is seriously worrying, we need two wingers with real pace to stretch our opponents. We can't play to narrow is doesn't work and I really hope the DGS don't risk our premier league survival to save themselves a few quid in the short term because it will be an absolute injustice to end up back in the championship.

I might appear negative but we can't play like we have the last couple of weeks it's simply not good enough and the DGS have a responsibility to ensure we stay in the league for us as fans and themselves because they have done so much good for the club.

I hope we sign some quality players and these last two results will just be a blip because we should of taken at least 4 points from the last two games.

The board seem to have put their cheque book away, and take us as mugs by making derisory bids on players. I am sure we all are thankful for what they have done so far, as we could easily have done a Leeds / Portsmouth etc without them. But please if there is no more money then say so, we will deal with it and get behind what we have, stop your idiot sons posting rubbish about we are signing a striker soon etc. I say if Barton is still available then sign him, he must be better than what was on show yesterday and at least he plays with a bit of fire in his belly!

23 Aug 2015 22:49:41
Agree with everything except comment on the sons. They must get bombarded with requests for info and we can't blame them. Can't make my mind up about Barton, thinks it's because he would act as captain because Noble isn't doing the leadership role and that means disruption. Might be a good thing, might be a bad one.

hi all. Perhaps someone can tell me where our transfer money has gone. We bought Payet, Obiang and Ogbonna by my reckoning approx £23m. We sold Downing for £5.5m leaving a balance of £17.5m which ain't far off the mark. Can anyone please explain to me how a PREMIERSHIP LEAGUE CLUB can improve on a budget of £20m??

Why did we bot go for the likes of Bakary SAKO. Why did we not go for free agent SHAQIRI. Why are we not looking to bring wingers and strikers in and busting the bank to do so.

From what has been going on it seems we have spent ALL SUMMER trying to tie up a deal for Song who has now FAILED A MEDICAL!!!!

Let me just remind you that the MIGHTY BRISTOL CITY have just bid £9m for that CHampionship striker from Brentford. Why therefore have we not done the same or are you telling me that they have greater spending power than us???

I recently hear we are after a striker and then we are heavily linked with BERBATOV (Free agent), Adebayor (Free Agent) and Jermain defoe (again, probably free). WHERE IS THE MONEY.

As for the match yesterday, we have all been screaming that we NEED A QUALITY BACKUP Keeper and what have we done?? NOTHING?? The team was inept and devoid of ideas. Forget Bilic and his tactics. He can only send the team out. The defending was shocking for Sunday league standard let alone premier league.

We've all been ranting that we need wingers (We could have had Max Gradel and look what he did to us yesterday) and again nothing. We need a quality striker that will get us 15 or 20 goals and again nothing.

All our time is spent mulling, pondering and trying to penny pinch and bid less than the asking price. I understand we wanna negotiate but how many times are we going to miss out because we won't meet the valuation. Charlie Austin should have been bought weeks ago but no, we mess about again. we bid (if you can call it that) £3.5m for Burak Yilmaz!! REALLY? For a player who has scored 77 goals in 115 appearances and has a 1 in 2 goals for his country. If he was english he'd be valued around £30m (just look at the joke we call AC). I Hear Chelsea are releasing MOSES for £9m so in true west ham fashion we bid £6m (bearing in mind Spurs are also interested)

I also hear now that Seville want Carroll? Then I say let him go!

Yeah, I understand you won't agree with me but this organisation needs a shake up and we need to start paying asking prices and then we might actually attract players we need.

Slaven Bilic has his hands tied and spedning £17.5m will produce one result and that's inferior players resulting in a season long struggle. And on yesterdays performance I worry for our premier league future

Liverpool away next, god help us

Feels good to let the frustration out. I 100% agree with your post.

23 Aug 2015 15:17:13
Phil you have hit nail on head sir.best post on here for ages, the only thing I would take issue with is the selling of carroll although his injury record frustrates the life out of me I think when we can get him on the pitch he is the class of player that we need.if we let him go do you think we would replace him with somebody of equal ability?.If this transfer window is anything to go by probably not, with the exception of payet I have no confidence that the signings we have made so far are going to take us on to this so called next level.the old saying you get what you pay for is so true in player terms and I am afraid we are not spending wisely too many bang average squad players rather than identifying the weak positions "we all know where they are" and buying quality.

23 Aug 2015 15:22:15
So disappointed in the team performance and how we continue to mess about during transfer windows. Our needs should have been sorted weeks ago

Phil1016.

I need to point something out to you before you go on criticizing the West Ham owners.
In 2010 When they bought 50% of West Ham from the Icelanders for around £50 Mill, with the purchase they took on over £110 Mill worth of debt. Plus they had to pay Sheffield United compensation for the Tevez affair of £18,1 Mill, £ 5,5 Mill fine for Tevez and Mascherano, then they have to pay £17 Mill towards the OS conversions, also since they have taken over the club, they have been the 10th highest spenders in the league spending 116 Mill Euros ( Let's take todays exchange rate and say £82 Mill.
Right, time to tally this:

Purchase price £50M, Debt £110M , Sheff Utd £18,1M, Tevez fine £5,5M, OS conversion costs £17M, player spending £ 82,0
That's a whopping £282M. That's not even including what they spent on players this season.

I'm a massive fan and I wouldn't spend that or take that gamble on West Ham. I come back to my point Phil, DGS are multimillionaires, not Billionaires.
Show some gratitude or put your hand in your pocket and help out.

24 Aug 2015 17:06:23
Oh. and also remember Phil1016, part of our agreement to move into the OS was to clear most if not all of our debt. So while they are paying off the previous managements debt, they are still putting their hands in their pockets.
There are people on this site who also bitch about no money being spent who don't even go to the games EVER. So they don't even contribute to the club's commercial success.
DGS are damn right West Ham heroes!!

You got a point buddy, its easy to have a short memory, and the first time we show some ambition and spend a bit of money the expectations go way to high and we end up bitching like supporters of other clubs I could mention. I confess to being guilty as charged!

23 Aug 2015 12:30:19
Whats happening lads? We ain't all gona give up are we!!? COYI . Mr hammer

23 Aug 2015 16:48:01
No we are not giving up but that defending was shocking yesterday, we need a decent striker (please get defoe) he will score goals which we lack, and as I have said before we lack any fight which surprises me with bilic and dicks on the bench.

And if we have money left go spend it before it too late on the likes of,
Moses
Defoe
Evans,
song,
Austin.

Personally I hope I am wrong but I feel sakho was just a one season wonder we will see.

23 Aug 2015 11:50:45
So senior players didn't want Joey Barton, are these the same senior players who have just lost to Leicester and Bournemouth at home. At least he'd show some fight and cover his back four, apparently it was a mostly appearance based deal. I'd go back and get him. just my opinion

23 Aug 2015 09:39:41
Do we have some issues? Yes of course we do! But we also should remember that he is and cresseell are class acts and don't become bad players overnight. Their performance as with the whole defence was down to management, was it poor motivation, poor organisation or lack of leadership, ill discipline? Any or all I would suggest. Wouldn't have happened I suggest under Sam, but then we wouldn't have scored 3 goals. It is. We are early in season and I think we all should stop panicking so much and give the players a chance to adjust to new management style not just playing style. Big Sam would have thrown toys out of pram and put a rocket up their asses, slaven and co will I suspect adopt a more constructive approach, which in the long run will pay greater dividends. New players from abroad can take time to adjust let's give them at least some time before we all start berating them. We do need some reinforcements and these will come this week I am sure, but again while they may be good individual players will they fell as a team from the start? Getting rid of Downing looks even more ridiculous now, and I also think Adrian would have done better on at least two of the goals! So should we be downbeat, yes of course, but let's give it a few more games before we panic. One thing to remember confidence is everything at this level, we boo the team and then we have no confidence! We are a better team than crystal palace, Leicester, Bournemouth etc but whereas they are positive and motivated our team are low on confidence and will be terrified of screwing up, and that will lead to more defeats. We have seen this all before as we are all unfortunately hooked on the roller coaster that is West Ham!

23 Aug 2015 10:52:45
Couldn't agree more Si1966. Got to remember BFS left us with a pretty demotivated squad at the end of last season - 3 wins in the last 19 says it all. We all know a lot of last years squad are either past it or not good enough to take us forward. A lot of us (including myself) where calling for a fresh approach and well, we have got it. Bilic is still not only developing his style but also learning about life in the Premiership! He will make mistakes (as with yesterday)and let's be honest it was an atrocious first half performance. Three games in is far too early to start getting depressed. remember this is West Ham!!!

23 Aug 2015 06:39:00
Ironmike with regards to London clubs do u feel know that we have fallen behind Palace especially if the speculation is correct that they are going back in for Austin, your thoughts.

23 Aug 2015 05:14:58
Is Jenkinson red card one match ban? Or 3?

{Ed001's Note - two yellows is an automatic one match ban. Straight red is an automatic two match ban. The FA disciplinary committee then decides on a case by case basis if the ban should be extended or not, unless the club appeals against the suspension.}

Thanks Ed

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome.}

Does it really matter? as well as he did last season yesterday was the worst performance by a West Ham right back I have seen in forty years of watch the Hammers, he went much better against Leicester!!
