Are we getting a defender in? What's the crack with cresswell?

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 31 Aug 2025 19:55:30
All waiting to see what happens tomorrow

2.) 31 Aug 2025 21:29:29
Please Cresswell and not Harwood-Bellis, one scored at the weekend, the other was relegated, with a large number of our other signings. We are West Ham not Southampton 2.0

30 Aug 2025 10:21:38
Tell me there's no truth in morinhio being our next manager (or however you spell it) just seen on transfer rumour site that he's favourite, got to be a joke surely.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 30 Aug 2025 10:39:56
I hope so, or another disaster beckons

2.) 30 Aug 2025 10:42:49
More than likely Forest if Santo gets the bullet

3.) 30 Aug 2025 10:46:39
Biggest WH joke is Potter,

4.) 30 Aug 2025 11:05:21
I wouldn’t bet against it, although don’t think Sully would enjoy working with such a strong character. Wouldn’t rule out a deal to the end of season to see how they get on, similar to Moysie’s deal

5.) 30 Aug 2025 11:28:11
Oh God, please no.

6.) 30 Aug 2025 11:30:52
Would you take santo?

7.) 30 Aug 2025 12:18:50
I would take Santo but don’t think it would be a long term appointment. He would be the best of a bad bunch mentioned so far. I would like to see Posticoglu but could also see that ending bad with our current squad. I and others have mentioned Xavi which be great but I can’t see him wanting to come

8.) 30 Aug 2025 12:58:59
Poach Will Still. His blood is claret and blue.

18 Jul 2025 11:44:28
Talk going around about grealish being a real possibility. I know this will probs get shot down people who no more than me, but just saying what I've read

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 18 Jul 2025 12:33:46
NO I’m not going to shoot it down, per se, I just don’t see how it’s funded, WH at present have around 480 k a week spare for. Wages, after taking WP and Diouf into account, if WH take Grealish, even assuming M City waive the loan fee, and pay young Jack 290 k a week, it leaves WH with 190/200 k a week in balance to cover all other future incomings, midfielders, striker etc, of course others may be moved on and their wages saved, but at present, without a Man City subsidy, just doesn’t stack up, doesn’t sit right,

26 May 2025 11:28:47
Just read that West Ham are interested in Jack Grealish to replace Paquetá. My god let this be true, a lot of people don't like the guy but personally I think he's a top player. He should never have gone to city in my eyes, now I have no idea if the rumour is true and I will probably get shot down by people who know far more than me, but for me I would love to see this happen.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 26 May 2025 12:43:50
I can’t see Grealish wanting to come to us to play for Potter, he’d probably go back to Villa.
If we did manage to buy him at least that would mean it might be us that get the free kicks from him constantly throwing himself on the floor from the slightest of touches from a defender. That is probably why pep doesn’t play him. He has a lot of talent for sure but that side of his game does really let's him down.

2.) 26 May 2025 16:17:05
He would blow our wage structure out of the water.

3.) 26 May 2025 19:18:56
I’ve also heard it could be a loan which would be better financially, why shouldn’t we be a little ambitious, he wants to get back into the England squad so wants to play for a team that will play him.

Is there any truth in these "American investors" worth billions looking to set up a consortium and approach to takeover West Ham?
Please Ed if you ever give me one piece of good news please let this be it ??

Whitbyhammer1

{Ed001's Note - that actually may be true, there is certainly some American investors trying to put together a consortium with the intent of buying a Premier League club. I don't know which club, or even if they have one particular club decided yet, but there is defo a group. A family friend was approached about joining, but he won't tell me any more than that. I do believe he is interested, even though he is not a football fan, simply because of the potential returns - not just in money, but also the ability to woo business when you have a part-ownership. It is a bit like playing golf in the business world, but a level or two up in status.}

1.) 10 May 2025 10:07:46
Is it just the Gold families shares they are looking to buy which is 25.1%, if so then Sullivan will still be the majority shareholder.

Right where do i start?
How is the bloke playing ward prowse? He's garbage, he's slow, he offers nothing. How do you start with no attacker with two on the bench. Soucheck n walking pace are no good together, they both looked knackered at 30 mins. The keeper is as small as Walker peters and I cannot understand how he was worth £18m. We had no end product, spurs were all o er us, BUT, the link up between paqueta, Fernandes, Summerville and Bowen has got something there it really has, same as Diouf/summerville and Walker peters/bowen.
But when souchek saw the red he took off any flair players that we had bar Bowen. No one else in that stadium would have taken off Fernandez n left walking pace on, to be fair he shouldn't be getting a start he is shocking.
We've won 6 games in our last 26, and lost our last 7 at home (commentator said so not me)
It's not good enough at all, potter got it massively wrong again today from the off, and bringing Guilherme and the new young lad on a man down and 2 down does nothing for their confidence. It's a joke.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 13 Sep 2025 20:39:12
100% agree Whitby. Potter has to go and has to go now. Never mind trying to get Sullivan out, at this precise time there are more pressing matters, getting rid of the numpty that is in the dugout. Doesn't matter who runs the club, stay with Potter and we are going down.

2.) 13 Sep 2025 20:52:32
WHITBY think you have covered most of it BUT there are a few small facts to be added
WH where for majority of game outclassed, that is the fault of Sullivan alone, who refused to invest, when desperately needed

Potters obsession with JWP is madness, and, he just cannot orchestrate, the players he has 5 ft 6 ins Kwp is marking 6 ft 6 inch Van der ven

One win last week, a fluke, doesn’t matter how many games there are to play, it’s clear 12/14 teams are better than WH, and we can’t even give the top teams a game

Potter will be gone soon, but will that make a difference?

Sullivan, had his head in his hands, reality has hit home

3.) 13 Sep 2025 21:30:32
Gerry the problem is it’s the numbty in the boardroom and his side kick that is hiring the numbties in the dugout.

4.) 14 Sep 2025 00:14:11
Whitbyhamner, disagree with you regarding the GK, we thought he had a reasonable game. He had no chance with the goals and made a couple of decent stops.
Don’t know how it looked on the tv, but we looked too heavy in specific areas and left others. Zonal marking does not work, when a team goes man to man it allows the coaches to work out who is losing their markers. Zonal doesn’t allow this. Surely, the WHU staff/coaches must know this.
Think the game changed after we should have gone 1 up. Fernandez should’ve shot but abdicated responsibility and gave it to Pacqueta, who in turn should’ve given it to Summerville.

5.) 14 Sep 2025 06:34:43
I reckon there was brown enclosed involved in hermandsen deal as he's shocking and why has 3 managers love spucek and JWP if we can see it why oh why can't the coach as he ain't a manager or a coach to be fair and the board see that midfield duo are simply nowhere near up to premier league level period.COYI⚒️⚒️⚒️

6.) 14 Sep 2025 07:34:22
Sorry I disagree I think the goalkeeper is awful, nervous, hopeless at corners as he allows himself to get boxed in, also doesn’t command the area like decent keepers, his distribution is no better than Areola’s. Been at fault for at least half of the goals we have conceded.

7.) 14 Sep 2025 08:33:31
The opposition just stand on the keeper and he's totally f****d his distribution is poor and his command of the area is non existent. The goalkeeping has been going down since this new coach replaced Xavi who's now at Liverpool.

8.) 14 Sep 2025 08:46:40
I don’t know how it looked on tv either brooking, but it was crap from my seat, the Keeper made a couple of saves yeah, but after these he’s not great, we may aswell have Walker peters in goal

9.) 14 Sep 2025 09:23:00
It’s plainly obvious to most people the goalkeeper is not Premiership standard. Selected by a manager who is also not Premiership standard. How on earth Potter can justify playing JWP at all, and starting Soucek, mystifies me. Something’s got to give.

10.) 14 Sep 2025 09:26:14
I noticed that our keeper had hold of our players shirt when spurs were just about to take a corner, ?

11.) 14 Sep 2025 16:50:51
Hammer-D you can't keep blaming the board for Potters selection, formation, lack of tactical awareness, zonal marking, stubbornness in playing people who shouldn't be anywhere near the starting 11, I.E. Mads, JWP and Soucek. I agree the board is to blame for most things but yesterday result they are not. With a decent manager we would be either getting results or be beaten narrowly not hammered. For once Sully was right, he wanted to give Potter just till the end of the season as he had his doubts, but Brady said no give him a 2 1/2 year contract. Sully needs to pay up and get rid. If he doesn't want to pay. Roger Schmidt and Marco Rose, both exceptional managers are available, Schmidt has an ave win ratio of 59% and Rose 57% and then there is also a certain Mr Mourinho who still has a win rate of 61%. Rose would be my choice as his teams play attractive on the front foot football.

12.) 14 Sep 2025 18:20:23
Gerry i’m definitely not blaming the board for the problems yesterday. Like you I have been one of Potters biggest critics and think he should have been sacked at the end of the season. He should never have been employed in the first place but that's where we go back to my point is that they, the board are responsible for employing continual wrong managers and the rest of the rubbish they get up to. I have to be honest I don’t know the 2 managers you name but I am sure they are really good and will be a massive improvement but can you see our board employing them. The excuse is usually, needs to have prem experience. Well the last 2 have and look what that has done! I hope they choose someone like you have suggested. But long term we need to see the back of these egotistical t**ts and have our club run in a professional way

13.) 14 Sep 2025 20:12:22
100% agree Hammer-D, Sully should have seen enough of Potter last season and got rid.

14.) 15 Sep 2025 16:47:59
Joyful is right about the board as we'd have the players in that could do tge job apart from JWP who i'd replace with potts what else can potter do he's changed the 5 at the back and he couldn't play FULLKRUG as he was carrying a knock and WILSON wouldn't last 6o mins so its SULLYS fault we haven't the personal for potter to pick, but i will say that potter needs to go as he's a yes man and out of his depth, everybody thinks he had this outstanding record which he didn't in about 130 or so games he won 43 drew 47 and lost 40 odd games so hardly fantastic he only got the chelsea job as the new owners panicked.COYI⚒️⚒️⚒️

Can I ask why are people arguing between themselves on here, it's a rumour site is it not. I come on here to try and get the low down on what's going on with our club, I have no contacts or anything, I get what I get from you guys whom ever it may be or read on another transfer site. (A lot of which I don't believe on there) I respect what u all bring to the table, but u guys shouldn't be arguing over what u know or what your told. All I can say is we fans need to stick together. Keep the info coming all of you, Lee and joyful you both bring a lot of info, info of which I wouldn't have without you guys. Hopefully u guys will bring is some good news soon. ⚒️⚒️⚒️COYI

1.) 18 Aug 2025 10:04:19
Well said Whitby ?????

2.) 18 Aug 2025 11:57:42
I asked the more or less the same question a few days ago Whitby

09 Aug 2025 15:32:03
God ward prowse is horrible to watch and he ruins our midfield, he is not a prem player any more. But as a whole if we play like we have 1st 25 mins we will be torn apart by teams in the leauge.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 09 Aug 2025 17:32:11
That is the first preseason game I have seen. Difficult to read too much into it. But totally agree regarding the first half far too cautious exactly the same as the last 8 months.
I thought the second was much better. I thought Bowen, Fulkrug and Killman looked okay. But it is very worrying that he starts every match with JWP. At times in the first half the midfield was just a large black hole.
Hopefully they will have a right go at Sunderland

2.) 09 Aug 2025 19:34:51
Watched most of pre season, we need to press/move about 10 to 20 yards up the pitch. When we do press higher we are forcing other teams into mistakes. Potts first half did it a few times and then the goal 2nd half came from pressing

3.) 09 Aug 2025 20:18:16
The reason I think Potter is clueless:
Starting with JWP in preference to Alvarez and then bringing on Rodriguez and the hapless Soucek.

4.) 09 Aug 2025 21:08:56
All comes down to the lack of in midfield for me, it makes the press less effective and when it gets beat we don't have the pace to recover.

Also think its the reason we are playing a 532

5.) 09 Aug 2025 22:04:10
Souchek is far better than Rodriguez mate

6.) 09 Aug 2025 22:27:15
I think the pressing is a good point, but we don’t seem to do it as a unit . It seems a few players do it and a few don’t which makes it much more ineffective.

7.) 09 Aug 2025 22:52:52
Think the lack of legs in the middle make it hard to press as a unit. Fullkrug and bowen with some help from potts when they did press today lille made mistakes.

8.) 10 Aug 2025 07:10:15
Whitby,
I think they are both poor, and if our manager thinks that adding those two to our midfield is his masterstroke, then we’ve got problems when the Prem season starts.

9.) 10 Aug 2025 07:49:15
As usual Moanlegs, nothing constructive. No solutions, no offerings of something to remedy the situation. Even when they signed Wilson; your response to Antonio and Wilson was ‘I don’t want either’. You offer nothing.

I did very recently ask you, as I do almost every year, ask you to provide some names of players you would like to see through the door. Let’s see if you are able to do it this year. It proved very hard work last year. Conveniently you didn’t respond to this years request. So il have another go…

10.) 10 Aug 2025 08:10:11
Can't claim this as my own as saw on another forum. JWP= Just Waking Pace ?

11.) 10 Aug 2025 08:54:44
I do agree no know one with a whole in their arse should be playing JWP, souchek and Rodriguez together it’s the slowest midfield ever, I just mean souchek pops up when u need him, JWP the dead ball specialist is tragic, I mean he got beat to a 15-20 yard sprint and he already had half of it as a head start.

12.) 10 Aug 2025 12:18:54
Whitby,
I totally agree, but aside from his popping up to score the odd goal, Soucek offers absolutely nothing to the midfield. I must admit it, although totally unsuited to the pace in the midfield of a Premiership side, Rodriguez is technically more gifted, but hopeless in the Premiership. He’s better suited to continental football. As I said before on several occasions, I think Potts, Paqueta and Alvarez would be a more effective midfield.
Regards,
Tin.

13.) 10 Aug 2025 12:55:54
JWP must never wear a west ham shirt again what is it with these managers i mean potter loves JWP moyes loved SOUCEK neither of the should be any where near the starting 11 both of them aren't mobile enough to play C/M you need athletes in midfield if potter is saying that them 2 are better than ALVAREZ then we are in big trouble FEARON is better than all three of JWP, SOUCEK, RODRIGUEZ, I really feel for us unless we make 3 or 4 signings as KILMAN, AGUERD we're shocking and if we had the luxury of C/B'S then i'd try TODIBO at C/DM but we haven't so forget pre season but i'm going to say it if we start with this line up and bench after picking up a few injuries like every team do then imo we will go down sorry but that's my opinion i'm sick to death of this midfield in JWP, SOUCEK RODRIGUEZ, teams just go from back to front as our midfield are non existent and potter will be gone after 8 games mark my words i'm a game.bling man and i'm having a bet on him being the 1st premier league manager to be sacked that i'm confident on if we don't make 3 signings or at least 2 midfielders as HERMADSEN will have to be one heck of a keeper as he will be the busiest keeper in tge league as our back line will be got at so easy and they don't fill me with confidence AGUERD doesn't want to be here and kilman ain't good enough so sorry to be a doom and gloom poster but ?‍♂️?‍♂️

14.) 10 Aug 2025 12:41:49
Today, Pacquetta was our worst player. He appeared almost disinterested. Wonder if he had Newcastle or Man City on his mind?

15.) 10 Aug 2025 14:37:55
Hot and cold. I think he’ll be very good for us this season if we don’t move him on.

16.) 10 Aug 2025 20:33:38
I'd be amazed if he is in a west ham shirt much longer.COYI⚒️⚒️⚒️

06 Aug 2025 08:08:10
Anyone know what the crack is with this keeper situation? Apparently we've agreed terms for this Brazilian areola and it's a done deal, but then at the same time it's a smoke screen and we've had positive talks with potters actual target from Leicester! I hate this club in the transfer window they are so sly, if u want a player don't blab it too the world just go and put a bid in that's actually reasonable.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 06 Aug 2025 09:12:25
Who knows? Let me know when something’s actually done.

2.) 06 Aug 2025 09:59:15
Do you not see it is all part of a game if they don’t blab and everything was done covertly, they can’t then say ‘Oh well we tried’ because nobody would know about the fake interest.
I think Marko’s advise is best and just wait till deals are done. It makes for a s**t chat group but is probably better than people winding themselves into a rage. And it’s a yearly occurrence with Sully in charge

3.) 06 Aug 2025 15:22:55
Ahhh but we are also interested in Zetterer, Banks, Shilton, Stepney, jennings, victor, hermandsen, cooper, lev yashin, van der sar and neuer rofl ? ? ? ?

4.) 06 Aug 2025 19:40:55
You forgot Bert Trautman.

31 Jul 2025 01:36:09
Rodriguez should not be in a West Ham shirt he is in a word crap. And that keeper would be lucky to be called a training keeper, he is shocking. Guilimere has the makings of a very good player if he can get his confidence up and keep it there. Fulkrug looked a thousand times better but why is Bowen playing last man n Fulkrug is doing all the running, makes no sense at all. Orford n Potts are two very good players. Felt sorry for the young lad at centre back he was given some dodgey passes when he should have missed him out and gone keeper. Not sure about ward prowse either. That midfield needs more pace n spark in it, those young lads could be the key. And I think Marshall is a right bright player, he's rapid and like terrier. Desperate for a new keeper over everything unless areola pulls his finger out.

Whitbyhammer1

1.) 31 Jul 2025 06:21:57
Agreed whitby. Decent keeper could be key to this season.

I thought the young guys did really well last night and lots of good signs.

More pace in the team and we might not be too bad a team

2.) 31 Jul 2025 08:43:18
Paquetta was the difference the youngsters were OK but no way ready for a full pl season, Marshall had one chance at start but hit it straight at keeper apart from that did nothing really not one run in behind, diouf cannot cross a ball, potts was probably the best but not outstanding, casey was way out of his depth, guillherme is quick but didn't really.do much, I'm all for giving these guys a few chances but none are that good we can rely on them

On another note both keepers we have are clearly not comfatable with the ball at thier feet so how about trying to move the ball forwards instead of constantly backwards and sideways this tactic is asking for trouble

JWP.and Rodriguez are complete wastes of time

3.) 31 Jul 2025 09:58:02
Bit harsh on Marshall, link up play was good, pressing and movement was good. Took his shot early keeper got down well to make the save.

Can see Diouf is trying to get a lot of pace and whip the ball in behind the back line. Doesn't look the best when they don't come off but when he gets those right they are a lot more dangerous.

Not a fan of this 532 i'm hoping that's only being done to mitigate the lack of pace in the middle.

4.) 31 Jul 2025 10:05:54
I’d hate to see you in a pessimistic mood, RedRobbo.

5.) 31 Jul 2025 10:36:30
Thought Fulkrug and Pacqueta looked sharp. Casey, Rodriguez and the GK were well off the pace. I thought everyone else did ok.
Everton were really poor. Looks like Man Utd may start on the front foot this season.

6.) 31 Jul 2025 10:36:17
It's not pessimistic to be realistic, these youngsters are not ready for a full pl season simple chuck them in now and it will ruin them

Sorry but ward prowse is crap when the ball is played to him 90% of his passes go back to the player wether the player is marked on unmarked, he just won’t look for another ball it’s frustrating as hell to watch. Need some1 in there with pace and vision, same as his corners every1 is deep and lofted everytime, there’s no change up from the guy, he’s a one trick pony that has ran its last race.

Whitbyhammer1
