No Pacquetta, Kudus or Aguerd tomorrow, and the last 2 are missing for the next 6 weeks. Now is the time for Benny, Fornals and Mubama to step up to show their worth.
Good news that Soucek has signed until 2027.

Mubama yes. As for Benny and Pablo - it appears they are both in the out tray, so don't be surprised if their hearts aren't entirely in it.

Beaten Arsenal, Spurs, Man U in December. Quality

Well done WHU and DM. 6th place at Christmas is excellent for us. The Man Utd side are the poorest I've seen. They had 3 decent players: Shaw, Wan Bissaka and McTominay. The rest were bang average. Thought they were the worst team we've played at London Stadium this season.
Think it showed yesterday that players and management were more interested in this game over the Liverpool game.

Merry xmas to you all spot on markwhu UTD are shockingly bad and we weren't much better until the goals but a wins a win.⚒⚒⚒

20 Dec 2023 22:34:54
I'm in the Moyes camp, yet I could not understand why he did not start with his strongest 11 v a reserve Liverpool side. It was a 1/4 final game?
If we beat Man Utd and go 6th, then all is forgiven, but if we do not.

Markwhu1

1.) 21 Dec 2023 00:08:28
All is forgiven if we beat UTD saturday, **** Saturdays game tonight was massive mark and your happy with that I'm so angry with that team selection and performance and I don't blame the players one man is to blame, and he puts that there's a bug going around and a few players have got it so why oh why did he let players travel and put other players at risk of getting the bug, but it's funny SOUCEK never gets the bug and to put that team out in the 1/4 final of the cup as they needed a rest fecking rest them saturday if you are MOYES in after that performance then you are deluded get ARNIE SLOT in and fast give him what he wants now.⚒⚒⚒

2.) 21 Dec 2023 00:16:34
You happy with that I bet all the youngsters can't wait to perform that football we played tonight at school good job they are learning from a top top coach and tactician and please don't say liverpool were great as they were playing against shadows that was worse than the ALLARDYCE forest defeat in the cup in fact I cannot think of a worse performance than that for a very very long time ham egg and chips.

3.) 21 Dec 2023 02:08:14
I totally agree. To suggest that all is forgiven if we beat Man Utd is nothing short of ludicrous, but only to be expected from such a deluded source. Wake up.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 07:15:31
OK, we are beating the MOYES drum again but I've got to say, the players he sent out could have donbe a lot better. Benrahma messing about for the first goal trying to be fancy and then when he lost the ball he stood still and watched. Players from Liverpool running 60 or 70 yards with the ball without a challenge. Defenders who can't defend. Half hearted attempts by the keeper. Johnson was shocking as was MAVROPANOS. It was as shocking a display as I think i've seen since Fulham lol but it is starting to become a common theme here.

5.) 21 Dec 2023 07:25:31
Before criticising, please read my statement! As usual the
readers on this site only read what they want. The league
is far more important, and if we go 6th and beat Utd then that is decent. I thought DM should’ve started with his best 11 and removed them at HT.
Finally, anyone who thought we’d get anything from last nights game needs to remove their head from their backside. 1 win in 55 attempts!
Roll on Saturday and 6th place.

6.) 21 Dec 2023 11:35:59
The league is far more important? Yet our league peformances have been atrocious for 80-90% of the past 2 years. In my opinion our league position probably isn't a true reflection of how we've played so far, we have has few decent performances but we've also had some absolutely terrible ones, fortunately we got some points when we probably didn't deserve any so at least the season isn't a complete right off yet.

Of course fans know Anfield away is a very tough game, but common that was not acceptable in a quarter final first attempt on goal 72nd minute. Moyes put out a team with the players he barely uses, has absolutely killed the confidence off and set them up in a low block.

If we went there got in their faces and had a go no fans would have had any complaints if we lost, but no Moyes reverted to type sat deep and rolled over in the competition that was our best chance of winning a trophy and arguably getting into Europe again. His post match comments were also disgusting again.

7.) 21 Dec 2023 17:12:34
If we only read what we want to read, Mark, then why is it the nonsense you post always triggers responses? Once again, you are the one with his head buried in the dark. What's it like being a contortionist?

8.) 21 Dec 2023 19:00:17
Whorya - To many players had a bad game. I think the CB pairing didn't suit and players were pulled out of position to easily to expose gaps down the flanks and through the middle, if Liverpool we’re is better form the score could have been much worse.
Moyes stuck in between a rock and a hard place either the Man U this weekend. Players have been given a start and to be fair to Moyes they have let him down slightly.
I don’t agree with an earlier poster stating Moyes tactics were to blame totally. Looks as if WH were sent out to slow down the game and pause Liverpools passing rhythm we’re possible hopefully 2nd half to be level and Nick the win 2nd half.

9.) 24 Dec 2023 01:22:37
But come on HEC surely that was a great chance to field our strongest team against liverpool, we ain't going to be in a relegation battle and we ain't going to get in the champions league spot, and to be trueful I don't want another europa league spot the only European comp I want WHUFC in is the champions league, so for me a semi final position in the carabao cup with the teams left in it was a bigger game than todays game, especially after the great performance in the ARSENAL game was all irrelevant now and a complete waste imo.⚒⚒⚒

Good performance today. 7th. Keep it going DM.

1.) 17 Dec 2023 17:46:30
Agree, And the Players apart from Ings! ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒

2.) 17 Dec 2023 17:48:01
For me apart from second half dip, best performance of season

3.) 17 Dec 2023 20:52:42
DINOSAUR DAVE has more lifes than ZOUMAS cat ( joke I don't agree with what he done) .⚒⚒⚒

4.) 17 Dec 2023 21:22:09
Kudus, Paqueta and Bowen ran the show backed up by a - for the most part decent team effort, albeit against a woeful Wolves team - who it must be said were utter garbage today.

I'm sure there are those Moyesistas who'll be sitting with a smug grin on their faces tonight but I'll wait until after the Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Brighton games before deciding whether we've actually turned a tactical corner or not.

5.) 18 Dec 2023 10:48:07
Moyse has said he’s giving Paquetá more leeway now. If he sticks with that…

6.) 21 Dec 2023 06:00:21
Yes, keep going Dave. Don’t stop until you are miles away from East London. Outer Mongolia sounds about right.

14 Dec 2023 22:23:03
Nice solid performance this evening. Well done DM.

Markwhu1

1.) 15 Dec 2023 08:57:26
Certainly better than solid in the first half. We had far more possession than standard Moyseball.

I always get the feeling that when our players express themselves and go for it, it’s in spite of Moyse as opposed to because of him. Yet, he’s the manager and it’s a good result, so some folk will give him the credit, whether he deserves it or not.

2.) 15 Dec 2023 13:40:32
We always look better when we go for it, think Arsenal and last 45 against tottenham but for some reason Moyes reverts back to defensive low block. Hopefully the 5 nil thrashing against Fulham is the wake up call he needed that it hasn't been working, I doubt it though.

Alvarez makes a huge differnce to the way we play also, good job DM didn't get his way as we would have had mctominay, soucek and jwp as our midfield.

Really highlights our need for another defensive midfielder or for one of the youngsters to be giving a chance to show if they can step up and cover alaverez.

3.) 15 Dec 2023 18:10:59
If you’re going to skate the manager in defeat, it’s only fair that he get credit in victory. Otherwise all you are is bias and would rather be right than successful

4.) 15 Dec 2023 19:52:01
There have been suggestions that we have played our better, more attacking football, when the players have pushed further forward and been more aggressive than Moyse’s preference. Whether this is true is open to debate, but it is beyond question that the majority of our football this season has been turgidly defensive: concede possession, hope to hit the opposition on the break.

Surely it must be true that the majority of fans prefer the more exciting version. There is a lot of speculation about what a more progressive manager could do with our squad.

Moyse has saved West Ham from relegation twice and been there when we won a European trophy, for which he should be given plenty of credit, but he does not appear to have what it takes to move us forward.

Thanks to him for what he has done, but to progress, we must think about change.

5.) 19 Dec 2023 05:33:23
OMG cannot believe how bad FREIBURG were they were dreadful, anyway enough of that when we play a high press we look a totally different side but I'd be amazed (and happy) if we played anything other than a low block I'm afraid he cannot help himself but we will see and it will be interesting if the MOYESED posters make themselves known if we get beat that includes you tinny??.⚒⚒⚒

He won’t sell too many, possibly Fornals and Benny, which may give us £25m. We have too many games, therefore, we need a squad.

First half we were ok. Second half Bristol City on top. Those of you obsessed with Mubama. I’m glad you are not the manager. He is average, at best!

Nothing wrong with top 8. We’re never going to displace Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. These clubs are known throughout the world, very well. We are very well known in Britain. I am a realist, not a dreamer.

Emery yes. Rated him at Arsenal. His sacking was probably down to spending £72m on Pepe, who was poor at best.
