Sky will run a story tomorrow claiming we are returning with an improved payment structure. Heard it here first.

1.) 10 Jul 2019 08:59:26
Maxi gomez deal is off because a certain person who has not been heard lately is pulling the purse strings . Instalments got his name all over it.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 09:13:35
Get a few more punters having a flutter on us at Skybet before it's confirmed that Valencia have signed him.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 12:04:36
Bonzo on this occasion I think that is a little unfair. I’m not sure they have 40 mill in their back pocket to pay in one go and so many European deals are based on structured payments. I think more to this than we will ever know but probably we were always trying to get someone from a distant second.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 13:32:48
The Sun are reporting we finally agreed to pay all up front but Celta liked the idea of Mina in px, I’m sure we will never know the truth.

5.) 10 Jul 2019 16:56:15
Stubbo a bit unfair mate. I think DGS have stumped up a fair bit of money on players lately. The fact that we offered instalments is not unheard of. If we only needed to buy a single striker it would have been doable. The fact we need at least two that will cost us a minimum of £80m for top quality strikers and having already spent £24m on Fornals with a back line that also need strengthening limits them. Clubs need billionaires now not multimillionaires.

I fail to see what you’re grumbling about to be fair.
Mid I was DGS I would have sold the club and walked. They get nothing but criticism from the fans. Short memory mate. They covered out debt and kept us afloat when we were close to collapse when the Icelandic’s took over. Be thankful we even have a club mate. We could have ended up like Leeds, Bolton, Portsmouth.

6.) 10 Jul 2019 22:19:01
Iron. al94. You were spot on about sky sports mate. 😂😂😂.

07 Jun 2019 15:10:27
We are being linked with Joan Jordan again any truth in these rumours ed?

I like him I'd actually prefure him over Gomes, the price being quoted seems fairly low too.

{Ed002's Note - My notes say: Joan Jordan (CM) Sevilla are keen for the player to make a move this summer who has been watched by Arsenal, Valencia and West Ham.}

1.) 07 Jun 2019 19:51:08
Cheers ed :-)

29 Apr 2019 03:00:57
Any truth in the links to Dani Ceballos?

1.) 30 Apr 2019 08:41:55
We definitely need a strong box to box midfielder as Noble and Snograss are to slow both would be very good squad players and very reliable when needed.

2.) 09 May 2019 19:54:42
Bang on KING68 everything I support on noble and snodgrass. COYI.

05 Jan 2019 16:06:12
Would happily see perez and Carroll go providing we can get 1 quality st replacement. Probably too much to do for a January window if we can get rid of one then at least releases wages to strengthen in midfield.

Would love us to go get another quality striker if we are going to play 2 up top Silva should be ahead of perez in the pecking order for me he should go he's definitely got to be the first out of the door to make room for another.

Crazy how awful our striker signings have been over the years.

Personally think due to the neglect of strikers we've had we deserve both Haller and Gomez up top with Anderson and fornals behind them with rice and wilshere controlling the midfield.

09 Jul 2019 23:31:53
Considering we only have Hugill and Hernandez as our strikers and both have been linked away from us it would be nice to see us moving for other strikers as we need more than 1 in.

Wouldnt trust the sky reports but I think next few days we will see something more concrete. can't see why we would go through all this trouble to let the deal fall through over the payment structure unless celta were being completely unreasonable which I could understand as we seem desperate.

Can Ed shed some truth on supposed developments? I'm starting to have thoughts of hugill starting up top against city first game of the season.

{Ed002's Note - I have provided the list that I am aware of again.}

1.) 10 Jul 2019 10:54:17
Hugill is not even going to asia with the team, so guessing they are trying to get rid.
Ed, do we have a chance at getting Haller?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

2.) 10 Jul 2019 16:04:14
Shame! Thanks.

02 Jul 2019 14:32:49
Any truth in Arnautovic handing in a transfer request?

29 May 2019 21:47:12
John McGinn a player we were linked to under Moyes turned out pretty good and had a very good season in the championship.

Can see why Moyes wanted him if he makes the step up to the prem we could have missed a bargain.

I'd give him a chance at west ham wonder if other clubs are interested? Maybe snodgrass going in the other direction would help us. Doubt we are interested anyway.

1.) 30 May 2019 08:18:05
Snodgrass going in the other direction?

Iron so what your saying, is for a player who in my opinion gave it his all and played for the shirt last season and was pretty much a regular player and done really well, is to do a swap deal for someone that David ( i'm so great Westham are lucky to have me ) Moyes wanted and we take the risk of losing what we have in Snodgrass, sorry mate I totally disagree.

2.) 30 May 2019 14:58:42
Yes that's essentially what I'm saying but I couldn't give a sh*t about what Moyes said that shouldn't really factor in if we are interested in the player that wasnt the point I was making so forget that.

My thinking is McGinn is a lot younger and also plays in the centre which is his natural position where snodgrass has been playing due to us being short there and that there is better options out wide (younger more pacey wingers)

2 of the main reasons snodgrass has played so much for us is his work rate and delivery. McGinn is also known for his work rate that you can't fault and he also has very good delivery like snodgrass also unlike
snod he's actually a proper CM better defensively, better at holding on to the ball, dictating play and starting attacks.

I doubt he is available but if he was I'd imagine there would be a fair amount of interest given how good he was in championship and if snodgrass was to go in the other direction to sweeten the deal and put us ahead of others would I do it? Yes.

Nothing against snodgrass he has a great relationship with the fans and players there at villa he doesn't have much resale value either.

All in all this is very hypothetical stuff. We don't seem to be even looking at him.

3.) 30 May 2019 22:58:22
There is no chance in Snodgrass leaving. He appears to be one of Pellegrini’s faves.

4.) 31 May 2019 03:14:27
Of course there is a chance. he's a good utility man which was very handy with all our injuries but when everyone is fit he's unlikely to start. If we do strengthen in the summer the way we would like too, that likely means less game time for him. Perhaps an offer with more regular playing time and a longer contract may be appealing or maybe he's happy playing abit less I don't know.

Forget about snodgrass though with or without him in our squad next season. John McGinn is a good player and if he can continue to impress moving into the premiership next season we might have missed an absolute bargain is what I'm saying. One to watch I think.

5.) 31 May 2019 09:22:01
Pellegrini needs to address our forward options more than anything. Carroll going, Chica too expensive, Perez not quite good enough, Arnie too petulant. Throw the dice and start again. Defensively we appear fine, Midfield we hold a plethora of talent - although weak regarding strength. The only midfield players who appear to not suffer bad injuries are Noble, Snods and Rice.

6.) 01 Jun 2019 01:12:38
Of course with the speculation around the strikers leaving we are going to have to bring new ones in.

I think wesley moares we have been linked to could be useful and available at a fair price. Looking forward to it anyway could be an interesting window with us needing a couple of strikers.

I thought the defensive side of things for large parts of the season we were leaky.

I can see Pellegrini wanting to strengthen the whole spine of the time. Especially in the centre of the park where it looks like Fernandes and obiang are going and Nobles getting on abit although he is still quality for me.

7.) 01 Jun 2019 12:20:40
I agree regarding the spine. I feel we need a quality partner with Rice and Noble.

8.) 01 Jun 2019 21:55:35
Cannot believe people rave about SNODGRASS he's average at best and this is exactly why we will never challenge FFA with these standard of players at our club fact so he should f------G work hard for what they earn. COYI.

26 May 2019 23:51:17
Unrelated to west ham but any truth in Newcastle being taken over.

{Ed002's Note - Newcastle is available for the right deal - no so much the right price.}

You think it will go through ed?

{Ed002's Note - There has to be a great chance of signing him - then maybe look at Maupay.}

I think most deals are structured especially the big money transfers. It's far from over they could perhaps renegotiate if structure was actually the issue.

I like the look of Maupay got to remember Pellegrini does like to play 2 up top. With the signing of Fornals and Wilshere looking good we might be able to dominate possession with just a 4 man midfield. Rice and Wilshere holding, Anderson and fornals left and right attacking mids.

We would have a lot of options from the bench too Antonio, Yarmo, Snod, Noble, Diangana, Lanzini all of these players can offer of us something different and gives us great depth.

We just need a couple cherries on top and I think we will sign 2 strikers possibly 3. Then we will look at some defensive cover but I feel the emergence of Johnson and Alese has eased some concerns there also have Reid coming back. So maripan and the other defenders we have been linked to can wait we need strikers!

The blokes an idiot it's as if he's trying to act so foolish we just wash our hands with it and let him go for a low price simply to get them away from our club. can't say I wouldn't be tempted to take less than what we should be getting just to get these clowns away from our club.

I was thinking of the current striker situation and then I remembered how promising Xande Silva was before his injury, pacey and skillfull very composed infront of goal according to reports.

I feel if given a chance someone like fornals could pick out his runs all day long. Much like the season before last when Fornals had bakambu playing up top he registered something like 12 assists that season.

Maybe the answer to our striking problem is right under our nose it's an exciting prospect hopefully we see it tested in preseason.

Completely different style of play between these too. Hayden is a grafter that likes to tackle. Gomes good in the transitions.

I think they both had strong second halfs to the season. I do wonder how well Hayden would do in our side maybe he looked better in a well organised benetiz side or perhaps his game would improve further under Pellegrini.

Just got to trust Manuel's judgement.
