DiCanio, Where did you hear that? I wouldn’t be unhappy with that from the little I know of him, he would be a DM type of choice? He is an aggressive front player that scores goals, albeit in the Championship!
I’m a bit concerned about reading we’re upping our offer for the Algerian to £32m, can’t see that happening after paying similar money for Anderson and Haller, at least I hope not? ⚒⚒⚒.

Don't know, I read a story how he could be the next Heugill, good in the Championship but no good at Premier league. He certainly struggled at Newcastle.

We have had good buys from the championship Antonio, Bowen, Dawson and i think this is the way to go sure Hugill didn't make the grade but it didn't breaK us either.
If Moyes wants him he can't be any worse than Haller and i'm sure he is not costing 40+mil either. i for one have no problem giving Armstrong a chance with WH What i do know he is strong and very quick.

I think a lot of toon fans wanted to hold on to him he wasn't really given loads of opportunities from what I recall.
Funnily enough Chelms we are pretty local same school, I'd occasionally play football with his brother as he was on the same team as my cousin.

I don’t think we should get to hung up on the Hugill situation! We have several examples of ex Championship successes, as do other clubs, e. g. Maddison at Leicester as just one.
I see Newcastle have a sell on clause with Blackburn, so that inflates the fee as well!

He played 15 games for Newcastle in the Premier League without bothering the scorers. Hope he has improved as we have seen scoring in the Championship and the Premier League are two different things.

No bother chelms at the time they had Rondon, joselu, gayle and he probably didn't really suit rafa benitez or Bruce's style of play. Majority of the time he was loaned out but his goal scoring record in championship and league 1 is impressive.
He definitely has enough quality to score goals in the Premier league and make the step up as you mentioned with maddison you could tell he was quality. Its a risk though he's getting regular football there and he might struggle to get it here if Antonio stays fit although I can't see that happening especially considering we are supposed to be easing him back in but he's played 80 odd minutes twice and the full 90 over the past couple weeks if that.

Sdl, he was only 17 then and the majority of those appearances were from the bench his finishing, movement, pace agility is all very good might be abit on the short side for Moyes though.

Our track record on strikers is what worries me Sdl not where they come from. I think you could make a case for as many strikers that can't step up there are as many that have and you could probably make that case with signings from other league's aswell. Its probably more Crucial they fit the style of play.

I am not a Armstrong fan, he tried with Newcastle and did nothing! Diangana was decent in championship but has done nothing in premiership and everyone thought we were mad to sell him at £18 mill!

mmmm, not sure if I agree Martin, the Prem is quick not many other leagues compare, if you can get a loan in with a option to buy for me that's the best way, look at all the loans we had that didn't suit, if we bought them instead of loaning we would be moaning to the board, there are some players you can't get a loan to buy, I don't see what the issue is?

I think you need to pay attention to what the rest of the footballing world does to improve themselves. A totally different philosophy to west ham. They identify targets snd go get them not the gold and sullivan way of mulling pondering preparing bids which are a disgrace and when refused move down the list again and again finally settling on players through sheer desperation. Successful clubs get one or two that they need and only need and don't scatter bid to see who will bite at the cheapest price.

I do understand the frustrations. As a fan, I too get riled by bidding low. What is important to note is that pellegrini spent over £180m in less than 2 years.
This is a massive investment by the club and potentially still have outstanding payments on many of these players.
For me, no matter how disappointing it is, I would rather see our club live to fight another day than go to the wall.

Chelmsford that’s okay, like you I have been following the Hammers a long time, so would love to see some success.
I do agree Haller is not good in the role he is playing, and maybe won’t ever succeed at West Ham if we continue to play the formation we are. So maybe he does need to go, but my issue with it is he is talented and people saying he is rubbish have obviously not seen how good he was before he came to us. The problem I think is we spent so long chasing the Uruguayan number 9 who never wanted to join us and then when it finally ended rushed and bought Haller, a number 10, and expected him to play as a number 9 on his own. Is it his fault we play one up front and expect him to outrun two and three defenders? It’s like buying a BMW and saying it is crap off-road.
In the formation we play Antonio suits it better, maybe even Benhrama perhaps (who I think looks a little light when defending and is probably why he doesn’t start) . But against the teams in the bottom half, at home, I think we should be playing Haller in behind someone, but Moyes is doing a good job and is probably trying to get defensive stability before anything else.
So it’s not I’m watching something else, I do see he isn’t doing what we hoped, but I know he is good and if we can’t fit him into the formation that is on the manager and the owners who bought a player to play in the wrong position.

Mark, Pellegrini and whoever else were involved in both deals, pocketed more money than both those players are worth together now! We really deserved more than we got yesterday from the game, we had the chances but couldn’t capitalise on them! We were beaten because ManU have several players that are game changers that score goals like most top teams!
I don’t dwell on what decisions went against us, play to the whistle and get on with it! I just thought we were great for a long period in the game, we overran them without capitalising on our chances, you can’t afford that against teams of ManU’s calibre, well done lads, you played your socks off, can’t ask for more whatever the outcomeðŸ‘âš’âš’âš’.
