Adam Armstrong is a done deal.

1.) 21 Jan 2021 08:26:06
DiCanio, Where did you hear that? I wouldn’t be unhappy with that from the little I know of him, he would be a DM type of choice? He is an aggressive front player that scores goals, albeit in the Championship!

I’m a bit concerned about reading we’re upping our offer for the Algerian to £32m, can’t see that happening after paying similar money for Anderson and Haller, at least I hope not? ⚒⚒⚒.

2.) 21 Jan 2021 10:09:14
Don't know, I read a story how he could be the next Heugill, good in the Championship but no good at Premier league. He certainly struggled at Newcastle.

3.) 21 Jan 2021 10:49:32
We have had good buys from the championship Antonio, Bowen, Dawson and i think this is the way to go sure Hugill didn't make the grade but it didn't breaK us either.
If Moyes wants him he can't be any worse than Haller and i'm sure he is not costing 40+mil either. i for one have no problem giving Armstrong a chance with WH What i do know he is strong and very quick.

4.) 21 Jan 2021 11:03:17
Does anyone know the cost to bring Armstrong to WH?

5.) 21 Jan 2021 11:37:43
Bideford, it’s not even confirmed yet, but all clubs will rack the price up when we are interested especially in this short window? Just hope it’s true as we need help for Antonio up front👍⚒⚒.

6.) 21 Jan 2021 13:34:12
Article back in November quoted Blackburn ceo Steve Waggot saying they value Armstrong around 25m.

7.) 21 Jan 2021 14:57:37
Iron, you’re from the NE, he played for Newcastle as a young lad, any views on him? £25m, that’s a lot of money, but of course whatever a club quotes that the starting point, we all know it’s easier to come down than go up! We do the same when we sell a House? It’s a sales technique!

8.) 21 Jan 2021 16:59:45
I think a lot of toon fans wanted to hold on to him he wasn't really given loads of opportunities from what I recall.

Funnily enough Chelms we are pretty local same school, I'd occasionally play football with his brother as he was on the same team as my cousin.

9.) 21 Jan 2021 17:24:09
Iron, thanks for the info, that’s interesting👍Unless you are outstanding, your opportunities will be less unfortunately, especially in the PL?
I don’t think we should get to hung up on the Hugill situation! We have several examples of ex Championship successes, as do other clubs, e. g. Maddison at Leicester as just one.
I see Newcastle have a sell on clause with Blackburn, so that inflates the fee as well!
Thanks again for the info Iron👍👍⚒⚒⚒⚒.

10.) 21 Jan 2021 22:09:12
He played 15 games for Newcastle in the Premier League without bothering the scorers. Hope he has improved as we have seen scoring in the Championship and the Premier League are two different things.

11.) 21 Jan 2021 22:32:47
No bother chelms at the time they had Rondon, joselu, gayle and he probably didn't really suit rafa benitez or Bruce's style of play. Majority of the time he was loaned out but his goal scoring record in championship and league 1 is impressive.

He definitely has enough quality to score goals in the Premier league and make the step up as you mentioned with maddison you could tell he was quality. Its a risk though he's getting regular football there and he might struggle to get it here if Antonio stays fit although I can't see that happening especially considering we are supposed to be easing him back in but he's played 80 odd minutes twice and the full 90 over the past couple weeks if that.

12.) 21 Jan 2021 23:21:51
Sdl, he was only 17 then and the majority of those appearances were from the bench his finishing, movement, pace agility is all very good might be abit on the short side for Moyes though.

13.) 22 Jan 2021 05:02:16
Don’t get me wrong if he comes I hope he is a success, I am just worried about Championship strikers as they have not done well at other clubs as well.

14.) 22 Jan 2021 18:32:15
Our track record on strikers is what worries me Sdl not where they come from. I think you could make a case for as many strikers that can't step up there are as many that have and you could probably make that case with signings from other league's aswell. Its probably more Crucial they fit the style of play.

15.) 22 Jan 2021 22:11:08
I am not a Armstrong fan, he tried with Newcastle and did nothing! Diangana was decent in championship but has done nothing in premiership and everyone thought we were mad to sell him at £18 mill!
I’d take a chance on dia if available.

06 Oct 2020 19:25:39
Being linked with cook Bournemouth, he would be a better buy than dawson . Would love rodon but I think if we get cook we may get benrahma.

04 Oct 2020 10:57:15
How true is is the rumour regarding Jonathan tah.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything.}

1.) 05 Oct 2020 07:37:38
Try before you buy again! So probably won't happen same old West Ham this is why we never do well in the transfer market other clubs seem to just go get their players perhaps our scouting team just isn't up to it!

2.) 05 Oct 2020 09:05:17

3.) 05 Oct 2020 10:20:00
Yes but he was on loan who's to say some other club couldn't have come in last hour and took him off us its happened before if you've done your homework then you shouldn't need to loan players you should already know they're good enough!

4.) 05 Oct 2020 12:44:46
mmmm, not sure if I agree Martin, the Prem is quick not many other leagues compare, if you can get a loan in with a option to buy for me that's the best way, look at all the loans we had that didn't suit, if we bought them instead of loaning we would be moaning to the board, there are some players you can't get a loan to buy, I don't see what the issue is?

5.) 05 Oct 2020 20:57:12
If they sold CULLEN for a £1mill in todays market the medical staff are worth that 😂😂😂COYI.

6.) 05 Oct 2020 21:43:01
Whorya48. I agree, a million for Cullen is ludicrous. We would have had more credibility as a club if we had let him go for free. 😁😁😁.

03 Oct 2020 17:41:45
Apparently caleta-car will be a hammer by monday.

{Ed002's Note - There have been talks in London today.}

1.) 03 Oct 2020 19:39:30
Just heard he has pulled the plug.

{Ed002's Note - He does not want to leave.}

2.) 03 Oct 2020 20:01:17
Just read, the deal has collapsed?

3.) 03 Oct 2020 21:17:46
Move on.

4.) 03 Oct 2020 22:08:47
No great surprise if City have been sniffing around and Marseille are in the Champions League. Payet probably told him about our car crash owners too!

5.) 04 Oct 2020 02:04:05
I wouldn't say 100% the deal is dead in the water these have a habit of a u turn I wish we had a Croatian in our team or staff to try and persuade him though we have history with very valued members of the past croation national team so 🤞🤞🤞. COYI.

28 Sep 2020 14:08:50
Would be great if we can get joe rodon deal done . Great signing.

1.) 28 Sep 2020 20:38:27
Why are reports always saying that we are mulling, pondering or preparing bids. Now linked with vanaken and preparing a bid for roden.

2.) 29 Sep 2020 20:37:17
If they want these players badly enough, find out the asking price and match it.

3.) 30 Sep 2020 17:24:28
Mac. You say you understand the financial situation then talk about matching other clubs valuations of players we want.

Firstly, only clubs like Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid can be flippant with their decisions, not other club.

Secondly, you clearly don’t grasp the implications of keeping a football club afloat and liquid.

4.) 30 Sep 2020 20:12:17
I think you need to pay attention to what the rest of the footballing world does to improve themselves. A totally different philosophy to west ham. They identify targets snd go get them not the gold and sullivan way of mulling pondering preparing bids which are a disgrace and when refused move down the list again and again finally settling on players through sheer desperation. Successful clubs get one or two that they need and only need and don't scatter bid to see who will bite at the cheapest price.

5.) 30 Sep 2020 20:53:21

I do understand the frustrations. As a fan, I too get riled by bidding low. What is important to note is that pellegrini spent over £180m in less than 2 years.
This is a massive investment by the club and potentially still have outstanding payments on many of these players.
For me, no matter how disappointing it is, I would rather see our club live to fight another day than go to the wall.

30 Jan 2021 09:57:26
Go get dawson permanently and then get Hwang on loan and we can start looking forward.

18 Jan 2021 17:41:54
Go get yussef poulson . Were linked with loads at the min and I think he would fit us perfect and probley right price.

22 Dec 2020 03:31:54
Sign king and tarkocik. Sorry for miss spelling, in January and we will be top 10 club.

05 Dec 2020 18:22:08
That first half was the westham way . More second half . COYI.

1.) 05 Dec 2020 18:58:09
Who on earth told haller he is a striker.

2.) 05 Dec 2020 18:59:19
The west ham way. Chance after chance first half and sit back and get punished second half.

3.) 05 Dec 2020 19:18:09
Haller played behind the striker in Germany and scored 20 goals, it is Moyes who plays him out of position

We should have been 3 or 4 up and the game should have been over ☹️.

4.) 05 Dec 2020 19:23:42
He went round the goalie and fell over for gods sake. Get Giroud in. The man scores goals.

5.) 05 Dec 2020 19:27:46
Sdl, for Christ sake stop making excuses for that useless w——- Haller👎👎👎👎.

6.) 05 Dec 2020 19:52:41
LOL I remember people saying Ogbonna was rubbish and we should sell him, Balbuena, Creswell, Antonio, Masuaku, every one of them has been abused by some fans and it’s been said they are useless and should be gone. It is about getting the best out of them and Haller is the same. The guy has so much ability and somehow Moyes needs to get it out of him.

7.) 05 Dec 2020 20:19:24
Taxi for Haller!

8.) 05 Dec 2020 20:23:33
Not in this league buddy. He don't look interested.

9.) 05 Dec 2020 20:41:41
Markwhu, make it a Taxi with a 5 litre engine and Lewis Hamilton driving👍Sdl’s got me wound up again😂He means well with his patience but we can’t wait 2 years👎👎Bowen, Soucek, Coufal, Fornals👍👍great, but NO for Haller👎👎⚒⚒⚒We deserved more tonight, really unlucky🥲🥲⚒⚒⚒⚒.

10.) 05 Dec 2020 21:32:00
Chelmsford that’s okay, like you I have been following the Hammers a long time, so would love to see some success.

I do agree Haller is not good in the role he is playing, and maybe won’t ever succeed at West Ham if we continue to play the formation we are. So maybe he does need to go, but my issue with it is he is talented and people saying he is rubbish have obviously not seen how good he was before he came to us. The problem I think is we spent so long chasing the Uruguayan number 9 who never wanted to join us and then when it finally ended rushed and bought Haller, a number 10, and expected him to play as a number 9 on his own. Is it his fault we play one up front and expect him to outrun two and three defenders? It’s like buying a BMW and saying it is crap off-road.
In the formation we play Antonio suits it better, maybe even Benhrama perhaps (who I think looks a little light when defending and is probably why he doesn’t start) . But against the teams in the bottom half, at home, I think we should be playing Haller in behind someone, but Moyes is doing a good job and is probably trying to get defensive stability before anything else.
So it’s not I’m watching something else, I do see he isn’t doing what we hoped, but I know he is good and if we can’t fit him into the formation that is on the manager and the owners who bought a player to play in the wrong position.

11.) 06 Dec 2020 00:17:35
Pellegrini brought BIG twice, and neither progressed how we hoped. Anderson is worth £zero now, and Haller’s value has dropped by £20-25m.

12.) 06 Dec 2020 07:50:25
Mark, Pellegrini and whoever else were involved in both deals, pocketed more money than both those players are worth together now! We really deserved more than we got yesterday from the game, we had the chances but couldn’t capitalise on them! We were beaten because ManU have several players that are game changers that score goals like most top teams!
I don’t dwell on what decisions went against us, play to the whistle and get on with it! I just thought we were great for a long period in the game, we overran them without capitalising on our chances, you can’t afford that against teams of ManU’s calibre, well done lads, you played your socks off, can’t ask for more whatever the outcome👍⚒⚒⚒.

30 Nov 2020 21:57:22
