Even though we were, in all honesty, abject in parts today, the home support really stuck with the team. This is not my experience at West Ham. Over the 25 years I have been I often found the stadium could turn, and quite quickly. I think us as fans realise that the team we have on paper is pretty decent.
Something isn’t right. Most of us have put it down to the manager. I was very much a Moyes in man, I understood the change but never clamoured for it. I have been told of cliques in the dressing room. English players sitting together, South American lads together etc. I have also heard that Paqueta is totally disinterested and not taking training seriously.
I don’t think sacking the manager after 13 games is the way forward. However, I can’t shake the feeling the players just are not playing for him. We regularly concede either early in the first half or early in the second, whatever he is saying he is not being listened to. I would, personally, if I was the owner; admit this one hasn’t worked and pull the plug, as much as it pains me to say it.

There are set groups that sometimes eat together, BUT there’s no clicks going on as such ……….Arsenal are in a different sphere to us, that’s it plain and simple, we gave it a go, but the second penalty finished the game, TBH I watched the ref, and he was in two minds about it, I was bang opposite, we got a pen against Man U for nothing, this was given for nothing, hardly any contact, player rolling around like he’s been shot, ref was persuaded, that’s it, we are, bottom part of the league for several reasons, defenders, still not drilled properly midfield too slow, no strikers which is criminal, and we don’t have the right manager, we have a nucleus, you can see that, but that’s all, both last games no supposed forward scored, We need 2/3 windows and a lot more funds to get it right, we are way off at present

Joyful totally agree, there are a number of things which need changing however we must start with the Manager. Yesterday was a prime example. He started with the wrong formation for me. Arsenal have arguably the strongest midfield in the PL and Loopy starts basically in a 4-3-3 formation with 4 of the 6 attackers not tacklers.I’d have loaded the midfield with numbers and better tacklers to make a difficult bank to break down. What is the point bringing on Andy Irving, Alvarez and Rodrigues when we’re 5:2 down! I love Summerville but it wasn’t his game yesterday although he tried. Pacqueta couldn’t be bothered! Bowen, Summerville, Kudus and Antonio have goals in them so an out and out striker doesn’t concern me. What they all need is supply from a couple of tough tackling box to box midfielders. I’d be looking at shipping out Rodrigues and Irving and bringing in the likes of Kante, Kessie, Wharton or Fofana

Without making any comment on whether or not the second penalty should have been given, I disagree that Gabriel exaggerated the effect of Fab’s punch to his head. I’ve now replayed the incident several times and Gabriel is clearly dazed. On the Sky recording at 48mins 20secs, Gabriel is helped up, but then is clearly unsteady on his feet with nobody paying attention to him. He was also replaced at half-time, clearly indicating he was not fit to continue. So I’d suggest that he was clouted a lot harder than people are suggesting. The question of whether or not it was a penalty is entirely a matter of how the FA rules are interpreted, and the match officials all agreed it was a penalty.
4.) 02 Dec 2024 11:22:58
We are in agreement, problem now being can they (Steidten) get a couple of players like that in, we are in a poor position league wise, , and wages and! ondon apart, there’s not much attraction. for established midfielders to come in, that’s going. To be the issue, and that situation is going across the board in all positions, another big sort out coming I fear, I feel we will get it right eventually, time patience and deep pockets will be needed, and we have a great many fans already rattled, it’s totally understandable, but it can’t be solved short term, minimum. Another two windows, and manager change, in the meantime, staying in the premiership is vital

Sorry, tin legs, you and I normally agree on most matters, but not on this one, Arsenal are supreme practitioners on the dark arts of football, we are not in their league on that for sure, they committed fouls on both corners, that led to goals, Gabriel well he was seen laughing about the matter, later on changing room areas, referee didn’t see the fouls, didn’t see behind the scenes either, we where well outplayed for sure, and would have lost anyway, but they conned the referee, perhaps, it’s time we took some lessons from them, Loppy not teaching the players anything
6.) 02 Dec 2024 14:53:05
I understand and would normally agree on Arsenal’s play acting, but can only give my opinion on what is on the TV recording. He just looks genuinely dazed and I can’t understand why Arteta would replace a player who had such an important influence on the game. Also, he could have been laughing later about anything. Watch the replay and at 48:20 you’ll see what I mean. Anyway, it doesn’t change anything. We still lost after another shoddy performance! ?
7.) 02 Dec 2024 16:23:10
The referee never got a grip on Arsenal’s time wasting. For a club I associate as being a classy football club it’s a shame to see them resort to such. That was apparent to all inside the stadium. My Mums side of the family are all solid Arsenal supporters, I have always had a soft spot for Arsenal for that reason. Jamie Carragher was spot on when he said they are becoming a Mourinho like side. The type of side it’s very hard to have sympathy for.

Tin Legs my friend, the sub was continuing the play acting, Gabriel subbed was he needed at 3 goals up, I don’t think so, Larry Barnes, big Arsenal supporter I know 30 years, told me after the game Gabriel should have been booked, for play acting, referee conned, first goal Paqueta shoved out of the way, watch that, that’s a free kick to us, we need lessons big time, in these arts and crafts, we need quality set peice defensive coach, Arsenal spend absolute minimum 8 hours a week doing rehearsed dead ball movements, we do errrr not much, Loppy has learnt nothing, so the team learns nothing, If atop Arsenal supporter tells me this, than I will stick to this view, regards to you Joyful

This time last year we were in the top 6, certainly around that area. I’m finding it a real slog turning up week in week out at the minute.

Your not on your own Caligula! Serious consideration about renewing season ticket next year if this continues
27 Dec 2024 12:19:45
Think the players deserve credit. They dug in and found a way to get three points. If that was Arsenal, seeing off a wave of pressure and then getting a scruffy one nil everyone would be saying that’s the sign of a good team. 4 unbeaten now, get behind the team. I don’t blame the manager for going defensive either. If you want expansive, he needs to feel his job isn’t under threat by November.
1.) 27 Dec 2024 22:18:38
To play expansive football, you need expansive footballers, we are more than a little light in that department, so we have adopted something that I don’t quite understand, still we got the three points, I posted at half time! That was a red card on Fabianski, seen it again and definitely is, player leads with elbow, just ridiculous, how ref and Var never saw this just crazy, Saints are worse up front than us, that’s why we won it, along with the help of two good GKs, I’m just going to hope for the best come Saturday, hope we don’t get swamped
2.) 28 Dec 2024 08:57:02
Joyful, we will be absolutely fine on Saturday, it’s Sunday I’m worried about ?
3.) 28 Dec 2024 09:24:58
Yeah quite right Stevie
20 Dec 2024 17:57:07
This doesn’t surprise me. I heard on the radio he would be a free transfer in the summer and thought we might be in for him.
I think he would be a great signing.
18 Dec 2024 14:01:59
Totally agree on Chukwuemeka Joyful. It was clear for all those in attendance that day that him going off injured changed the course of the game. I think there’s a player in there, minutes and match fitness unfortunately for him appear to have stalled his obvious talent from developing.

This is bizarre behaviour Tinlegs. For someone so vocal of your disdain of our all time PL top goal scorer I cannot fathom why this process of you naming one player you would replace him with in the transfer market is taking so long.
{Ed001's Note - maybe because he is not a professional scout?}
29 Oct 2024 18:26:57
I’m only asking for you to provide a realistic option in the transfer market, I don’t see why you are getting so defensive.
05 Jan 2025 10:07:29
Who would be the creative midfielder with pace you would like to see us sign Tinlegs? Give us one of those famous recommendations.
Give us some players you would like to see us sign that fit the criteria you’ve outlined above Tinlegs.
02 Jan 2025 09:05:11
Clearly not…
02 Jan 2025 09:03:59
Would I have Ward-Prowse over Guido Rodriguez? Yes, it’s not even close. Someone like that would set the tone in training. From what I hear, that’s what we need.
31 Dec 2024 23:47:45
Think you are on the money Brooking. Ward-Prowse by all accounts is a solid pro, Aguerd always struck me as a strange one to let leave on loan. He does have pace and can play football. Think the pace of the league caught him off guard early doors.

My biggest fear in life is the day that I lose my father. Another prayer I will say for you Lopetegui.
