Mark N. was short of pace but by knows means was he the worst player. Cresswell was at fault for the 2nd Fornals was not in the game same as Bowen very disappointing no energy Fredricks saved a certain goal with his pace. if it wasnt for Ogbonna we could have lost by a cricket score.
The board can see the problems what we see so they had better come up with some money or prepare for the championship.

1.) 13 Sep 2020 10:02:18
At least none of our new signings underperformed lol.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 10:14:29
What we've all been saying came true. Our full backs are terrible. Cresswell was woeful and we clearly need a strong centre back. Nobles best days are over and clearly we need a striker. Take £50m and Berkley for rice. Berkley can replace noble and use the remainder to get what we need. The club is more important than one player.

3.) 13 Sep 2020 12:41:21
Berkley Abraham’s + £20-30m for Rice. It would allow us to buy Tarkowski.

4.) 13 Sep 2020 14:12:20
We still then need full backs cause fredericks and cresswell are not premier league quality.

5.) 13 Sep 2020 15:21:29
We didn’t turn up.

Ogbonna and Antonio are the only two who really meant it.

Everybody else was AWOL.

6.) 13 Sep 2020 16:13:52
I said last week we ain't signed 0 players and we need 5 don't listen or believe club bids like tykowskie burnley bids . All lies to pacify us fans! And on last nights showing our club is going Down and the blame falls on dsg even though some on this site don't blame those two . We are the only club who ain't signed 0 players while we plead poverty.

7.) 13 Sep 2020 20:26:50
Apparently 3 days ago we were PREPARING a bid of £8m for souceks team mate lukas masopust.

8.) 14 Sep 2020 08:19:11
And its still being prepared. This is how we roll.

9.) 15 Sep 2020 20:05:02
I really don't agree with the bad posts about FREDERICKS and i don't agree with markro about ANTONIO having a decent game, the only player with any credit from that game was OGBONNA I've said this till i'm blue in the face but as long as we are continuing to start with NOBLE then we are under pressure from the start and i think MOYES got it wrong starting with 3 C/ M and defensive minded players in SOUCEK and RICE and NOBLE hasn't got the legs to continue to attack so there wasnt any attack minded midfielders in the centre of the park i know SOUCEK gets in the box but for me MOYES is never going to get the best out of HALLER as he won't play with 2 or 3 up front so HALLER will be sold in the next window unless he's used to his strengths. COYI.

Did i miss something on Haller, what i saw was a decent headed a great goal and a missed tap in, does that make him a premiership striker sure its a start but his over all game needs more effort Sorry i havnt seen enough from him to say he iss a good premiership striker, ill agree his performance against a team who has only one point in nine games is his best yet but for me he needs to beable to hold the ball up which i have never seen.
I do want him to succeed like every WH supporter but up till now he hasn't convinced me he's worth the money WH paid.

1.) 25 Nov 2020 18:00:43
He was better this game.

I’d like to see Antonio with him up front for a game or too. Moyse has said that 4 at the back and 2 CFs is likely at some point.

I agree that his hold up play is lacking but, bottom line: his goal won us 2 extra points.

2.) 25 Nov 2020 19:46:27
His first 5-6 games for us I thought we finally have a quality striker then Antonio got injured anderson lost form whole team dropped deep when roberto was in net and he was left up top with no support. Never fully recovered the early form he showed.

There is definitely a player in haller I think we will find him before seasons up. Last few seasons he's averaged around 8 headers won per game if we get players like antonio feeding off those flick ons it will be horrible to defend against.

He scored all types of goals for Frankfurt and made all kinds of assists.

3.) 26 Nov 2020 08:06:56
Have to say it chaps, did any that make the same pro Haller comments say the same about Roberto, wanting to give him more playing time, I doubt it? I’m sure even Roberto managed a few saves in some games just as Haller has managed to actually win a few headers! ⚒⚒⚒.

4.) 26 Nov 2020 09:40:01
Never rated Roberto, even before West Ham. Historically a journeyman keeper at best.

Haller, on the other hand, has an excellent record - just not for us, yet.

Perhaps I’m willing to give him more time than most.

5.) 26 Nov 2020 11:24:26
Don’t think anybody rated Roberto, the example I was making was, why continue to give Haller more time when he has been as ineffective as Roberto was imo, considering the ridiculous fee paid for him.

6.) 26 Nov 2020 17:18:53
Point taken.

We have to accept that Haller is a WH player and make the most of it. If he doesn’t play and score goals, his value will plummet. In effect, not giving him playing time means we are depreciating our own asset.

This is particularly relevant for the Jan window. Any other forward we try to bring to the club (if those rumours are true) will want to play. As an ambitious player, would you come to West Ham only to play when Antonio is injured? Does this mean we bring in a young aspiring CF, who knows he won’t be first choice? That also seems futile, because we already have Haller as a back up and, no matter our thoughts, (one way or the other) we won the last game because he scored.

In the few games that Haller and Antonio have played together, the partnership has looked promising.

I can see Moyse starting the Villa game with one, then bringing the other on as well, later in the game. In an ideal world, for me, he’d start both and revert to one up front if it doesn’t bear fruit.

I love the passion of posters on this site! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.

7.) 26 Nov 2020 19:11:41
No chelms I never made the same comments about roberto. As Marko pointed out he was never rated. He was a calamity from the offset he did make some good saves but that was usually after he failed to make routine stops and catches that led to goals. There was actually multiple videos on YouTube of him at previous clubs making awful save attempts.

Haller on the other hands stats were only second to Lewandowski in terms of strikers.

His last season at frankfurt he made 32 starts and 7 sub appearances scoring 20 times and assisting 12.

Averaging 6.9 headers a game which is actually an insane amount. If we give him the right service he will shine. Look how good masuaku and cress are in this system.

Personally I think if we had Antonio and benrahma either side of haller that might be our most effective foward line certainly a lot more exciting than bowen and Fornals in support. I'm certainly liking the options we have and the team is doing well. Just picturing it now benrahma, masuaku lovely skill down the left Haller in the middle with antonio and soucek bursting into the box not going to want to defend against that.

8.) 27 Nov 2020 04:40:40
I watch Bundesliga and saw Haller and saw how good he can be so want us to get that out of him. Roberto I don’t ever recall having seen play so could only judge on performances for us.

9.) 27 Nov 2020 15:16:45
You absolutely cannot compare Haller and Roberto - not even remotely.

roberto signing for us was a straight up brown envelope/ back hander whatever you want to call it. That Husillos took a chunk of the signing fee and that was that. He was due to warm the bench for a season or two then move on.

I think Iron Al has hit the nail on the head with Haller. He has been extremely unfortunate with the circumstances surrounding him in his time at West Ham, and it's not his fault that he isn't a genetic freak like Antonio. He'll come good, mark my words!

10.) 27 Nov 2020 20:34:44
I’ll withdraw from commenting further more on Haller chaps as I clearly do not have one positive comment to make about him! Worst buy £ for £ we’ve ever made! ⚒⚒⚒👍.

11.) 27 Nov 2020 22:46:10
I do understand where your point of view comes from chelms. Your certainly not alone in those thoughts! seems that he's divided fans opinions. Let's hope he does well then at least if we do sell him we can get a decent return and we can invest in a striker perhaps more suitable and similar to antonio.

Going to have to disagree with you again £ for £ surely that title goes to Savio nesereko!

Just thinking you could write a pretty long list of the dire stirkers we've had in recent years.

Chamakh, illan, Franco. Maiga. An Over weight bennie McCarthy anyone else want to add to list? Mido haha.

12.) 28 Nov 2020 08:46:35
All opinions are valuable on this site. It’s the discussion that makes it all worthwhile.

13.) 28 Nov 2020 08:55:14
Iron. Al, I have a big, big, problem with lazy footballers, I don’t say run around stupidly, but show some effort for your teammates and fans that pay big money to travel a long way to see their team play, you owe that effort to everybody, any less is unforgivable to me! If you have more ability than energy and are contributing to a team effort that is noticeable in a teams progress that’s great, but if not, then be prepared for some harsh criticism! The Manager has inherited a squad so I can understand the pressure on DM to play him for a £45m so called investment, but that was down to Sullivan and Gold! ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

14.) 28 Nov 2020 09:24:57
Yeah I get you chelms his persona doesn't help with that. Sometimes I think watching haller maybe you could have battled harder to keep the ball there he's far from perfect and I would like to see abit more tenacity in his play more often.

15.) 28 Nov 2020 09:37:38
I am a haller fan, it is the system being played that is affecting him. I am not saying change the system as I believe it is working and you do not fix something that isn’t broke. I would however like to see benrahma come in for Bowen to see how he gets on, Bowen has not really been effective the last few games. I would say formals but his work rate tracking back is keeping him in the team.

The system at the back has been unbelievably successful, if you look at balbuena and cresswell who were both pretty desperate last year have been in great form and Igbo a who has been our rock for last few seasons again has performed [need them all to stay injury free].
COYI.

16.) 28 Nov 2020 15:33:15
Bobby, I’m seeing a different Bowen to you, I think his work rate and vision are terrific, I would very unhappy to see him dropped and I think he would be very disappointed as well? ⚒⚒⚒.

17.) 29 Nov 2020 01:09:29
Moyse has come to believe in and rely on Fornals, whose work ethic is second to none.

For Benrahma to come in, either Fornals, or Bowen will have to make way.

Interesting problem.

18.) 29 Nov 2020 14:44:40
I think his work rate was terrific but last few games Bowen has dropped off, maybe he just suits and has a great understanding with Antonio.
If Antonio comes back in Monday then maybe Bowen will pick himself up again.
Let’s face it, West Ham do not normally have selection problems of who to drop for who, a nice place to be for moyes I should think.

23 Nov 2020 14:18:04
Two great wins another six points on the board and eighth in the table, can't be bad.
Haller scored a belter, all the player played their part and David Moyes and his backroom staff deserve praise.

1.) 23 Nov 2020 16:54:38
There are no “easy” games at this level.

Of course there were mistakes etc, but we must stop expecting perfection and dishing out adverse criticism.

3 well deserved points and a generally sound performance.

2.) 23 Nov 2020 20:00:17
Moyes and his team deserve a ton of credit, we look fitter than we have in a long time, positionally sound and have a game plan couldn't be a happier hammer right now.

3.) 23 Nov 2020 20:48:31
Always liked Moyes the first time. He was hard done by the first time round as well. We do look fitter and sharper.

16 Nov 2020 09:18:16
i see some rave reports about Winston Reid if he is any where near his best i though he was one of our best defenders before he got injured. If we are still paying Kansas a big portion of his salary we should at least recall him and let's see how he performs he still has 2 good years ahead of him.
With our youngsters coming through we could save a lot of money instead of buying. We need another decent centre forward and a decent goal keeper as Lukasz Fab. will need to be replaced if not now but soon.
Im very happy with the squad and what DM has done since he arrived. He has given Hallar enough chances to prove himself but he isn't suited to the way we play and the premiership.
[cut your loses and get rid of him].

1.) 16 Nov 2020 15:24:13
Bideford, In agreement with your comments👍Will be a good test next week at Sheffield👍⚒⚒⚒⚒.

2.) 17 Nov 2020 19:09:41
MLS season ends December with the MLS Cup Kansas were top of the Western Division.

I assume from this Winston will be back in the UK for the Xmas period and could play for West Ham.

{Ed002's Note - Not over Christmas but from January if they include him in the squad.

3.) 18 Nov 2020 21:30:52
Thanks Ed for the correction.

4.) 21 Nov 2020 17:28:43
Having acquired Dawson as cover, we already have 4 experienced centre halves. There was talk of Kai whatshisface, the left back from the states. Perhaps we shoulder swap Reid for him.

09 Nov 2020 20:07:42
After another disaster display its time to give up on Haller. if WH get a club that is willing to pay 10 mil. take it and run, put it down to another bad buy by Pel.

Bidefordjohno

1.) 10 Nov 2020 04:37:06
Not sure that it was a disaster display, Rice and Soucek won very little in midfield, so it was pretty hard to judge.

08 Nov 2020 06:36:58
i only saw what was shown on BBC MOTD Haller had 1 header but never once did i see him make himself available. but ill stick by Moyes he picks the team, it is his call and a gt result and another 3 points.
Ps. i don't know what Cresswell is smoking but i want some of it.

Bidefordjohno

1.) 08 Nov 2020 07:16:43
I watched the whole match, good thing about living in Australia, while not being able to go to games which would be better, we get every game live for the Premier League, as well as a number of other leagues, plus internationals, womens premier league etc. for very little cost. Anyway in terms of Haller, he had more than 1 header but not a lot of chances, but the crosses from Coufal were not very good. The crosses from Cresswell were much better but he didn't get near a lot of them. Bowen should have taken an early one and got it all wrong. Haller chased a bit, and had a few good touches, but not a lot came his way. But we really didn't play well in the middle of the field Rice and Soucek were anonymous except for Soucek goal. I would suggest judge Haller a little more when we win the midfield battle and are playing balls in to him as this game we lost that battle.

2.) 08 Nov 2020 08:46:04
Totally agree Sdl
Watched the game and your dead right, he didn’t get much but he look more interested than the Liverpool game that’s for sure. If he’s interested and gets the right service I think yeah then judge him at the moment. We got the luck with the goa, haller was offside. But three points so COYI.

3.) 08 Nov 2020 09:25:03
When the ball was played into him his hold up play was good. But the final ball into him was poor on many occasions. Would have loved to have seen that header he crashed off the bar go in that would been a big boost for him.

When we lose Antonio yes we miss a fighter with great work rate but we also don't have any raw pace in that front line. Think this has been a problem for the team in the past when we've lost him due to his hamstrings.

Benrahma was desperate to get on the ball and make something happen which was good to see. Really looking forward to seeing him more. wouldn't mind seeing a front 3 of benrahma-Haller- Antonio.

4.) 08 Nov 2020 09:37:51
I watched the whole game as well. Still have worries around Haller. He still seems slow to get into the box, commits too many fouls and is often offside. Mind you with the offside rules at the ment it's not surprising MOTD talking about Creswell for England not sure about that but he is playing out of his skin at mom.

Oliver Giroud would be a godd back up for Antonio and with our young players coming through i don't see the reason to spend a large amount of money on untried premiership players, learn from our previous mistakes leave them alone and buy what you know that can play in the premiership. Giroud is getting on but he can still do a good job as a back up centre forward and can hold the ball up which is a must for our game. If we can get this season over with good times i hope will come with the crop of youngsters we have coming through.
What do you think lads?

i too don't think Haller is good enough to disrupt a team that is pulling together. He has a lot of talent and is a decent footballer but he doesn't do enough work, i can't see him making the subs bench let alone starting a game.

i agree with u Markro, i too would prefer Benrahma,
i just read Masuaku has been sent back to WH with a injury We need him fit as he gets the forwards running and gets the best out of Cresswell [who made to gt crosses for goals]
Our strength is our attack all the time we are going forward we look like we have chances to score also it takes a lot of pressure off our back line.
Antonio will need a rest or he will break down the internationals have come at the right time but if Antnio needs a break [AND HE WILL DO] we have Haller, put Benrahma in and put Fornells as sub
For Haller to work he needs a player like Benrahma to run at defenders so he can find space in the box.

I like to think that we can hold on to Dec but i can't see that happening, we need players decent players to come in and let's face it the only way is to sell Rice he will free up enough money to buy 2-3 players with the money from previous sales, if we don't the writing is on the wall RELEGATION LOOMS
Cn anyone see any other options that will work because i cant.
