I see that Nick from Claret and Booze has suggested that Johnny Heitinga might be our manager next season. If you remember correctly, that is something I suggested a few months ago when Moyes was under pressure. I wouldn't be surprised.

I am a member of claret and booze tinny and I think there could be a bit of promise in that rumour anyway we got PHILLIPS with an option to buy, what's everyone's views on this he's got to be better than SOUCEK (who DD loves), but rumours flying around is he could be a straight replacement for ALVAREZ and if this happens then DD has lost the plot.⚒⚒⚒

I think a tall tea lady would be better than Soucek! I hope Phillips isn’t a replacement for Alvarez. I wouldn’t put that past Moyes. I’ll reserve judgement on Phillips until we see what he’s made of in a WHU shirt. I’m a bit concerned that Pep didn’t think he’s good enough, but the Leeds fans thought highly of him. And before the short-sighted contingent scream ‘but he’s an England international’, let’s not forget it’s Gareth Southgate who selected him! Time will tell.

I’ve heard all sorts of rumours, including one that Moyes thinks Alvarez gets far too many bookings and is a bit of a loose cannon. Another that the Soucek and Ward-Prowse partnership for set pieces is an integral part of Moyes’ strategy and he’ll never break it up.

Not knowing DD as he loves SOUCEK I mean he's only been left out once this season and there are a number of times that he should have been dropped and it's always ALVAREZ that is subbed like BENNY and rumour has it that DD and ALVAREZ don't see eye to eye.⚒⚒⚒

Apparently SSN have jumped the gun and the PHILLIPS deal isn't signed yet the loan offer has been agreed by the clubs but the player is yet to sign.?⚒⚒⚒

Surely Moyes can see how bad we are with Soucek and jwp in the middle, neither can control a game with possession like alvarez and phillips they'd make a very good pairing and would be able to get the ball to kudus paqueta bowen.

I agree with you Al. I may have my rose coloured specs on. But having a fit Phillips, and Alvarez in midfield should perversely make as a more attacking prospect as it should take pressure off the defenders and allow Bowen, JWP, Paqueta and Kudus to push forward more. But who knows what’s in DMs mind. If he does replace Alvarez with KP that would be a joke and a downgrade. Fingers crossed ever the optimist ?

Definitely! They compliment eachother very well just like Rice and Phillips for England

I'd love to see a midfield 3 of Paqueta Alvarez Phillips, that's a very tenacious top 6 midfield.

Let’s not forget that It’s a stone bonker Paqueta will move to City in the summer. If we want to keep Phillips, and his wage demands are not unreasonable, Phillips will probably permanently move in the opposite direction as part-exchange. I think we have to resign ourselves to losing Paqueta no matter what at the end of this season.
