Half time and it's 0-0. Fornals is showing why he isn't a regular first team starter. Benrahma is trying to hit the ball into row Z, and Ings is playing his usual Brady role - the invisible man. On the bright side, Paqueta is again showing why he's a different class, and Mavropanos is knocking on the door to start in the premiership. Good player. Kudus is beginning to show what he's capable of. Hopefully, the second half will be more productive. COYI!

Ings is done at any kind of serious footballing level. Trouble is, he's not actually the worst WH player out there tonight!

Fornals, who's actually a decent footballer has been woeful, Benny is garbage, Kehrer is very, very bad and Creswell before he went off, is in the should-never-play-for-us again camp.

Can’t agree Billy. Benrahma had a reasonable game, improving in the second half and putting their defence under pressure. Kehrer wasn’t that bad. Our worst players by a country mile were Fornals and Ings. Fornals should have gone in the summer, and by his reaction to being subbed, he probably regrets not going. He’s a lovely bloke, but has never been quite good enough. Cresswell was injured, but I think he might go in January.

Routine enough 3-1 at the end with several players upping their game 2nd half, so a decent start to the competition. The thing is though, that performance shows that no matter how well things are going, the Moyes 'West Ham way' is always there, bubbling just under the surface and that's not necessarily a good thing.

Tonight also highlighted just how criminally negligent the club was in the transfer window by not signing a striker.

Paqueta must be spitting feathers - he does genius things only for Antonio (in particular) to spectacularly fail to even remotely control the ball, his 'first touch' goes further than most people can actually kick it. It's like his feet are made out of shopping trolly wheels fgs.

We won, that’s all that matters for me, what do you expect when you play players that don’t even deserve to be at our club, let alone playing in a Euro game, the Serbs came for our scalp and could have got it, I thought they were a good hard working side?

Look at the Brighton result especially the ones that love statistics, at least our paying fans went home happy with the result, even if they weren’t happy about how we achieved it!

STRIKER, STRIKER, STRIKER and we did nothing! You tell me Antonio and Ings are the answer? They are both Terrible and again we are back to the same old issue, whether results are good or bad.Inconsistency! This is what makes great teams, great. They play consistently at the same level. First half we were woeful. Why did it take them to score to wake us up. Then, things changed and we started to play football and until then everybody was coasting, as if we had won the game already and it was inevitable. Who told these players that's started that it was going to be a walk in the park? Some of the perfromances were criminal and they get paid thousands of pounds a week (What most men earn in 10 years) to put on a show like this. Its ludicrous and has to stop, as do these negative "Lets sit back and defend until we catch them on the break, even at home" tactic. With this group of players, a manager who knws what they are doing could make us seriously competitive

And entertaining, Daisy, and entertaining. Let’s not forget that football is part of the entertainment industry. A positive result is important, but I’ve enjoyed watching a great game of football where we didn’t win all three points. I don’t want to be permanently bored, week in week out, where we get points through grinding out unwatchable crap. I’d soon start losing interest in watching football and start looking for an alternative interest.

Thats what people pay to see, TIN. How many times have you watched a live match for it to finish 0-0 and be bored, but, at least if its entertaining you put up with it

Last night showed how much we need Antonio. He transformed the game when he came on. Many fans are unsure of him. I am not one of them. I think he is one of the players Centre Backs think 'Thank heavens we have not got to play against him again.'

Cupwinners, agree with you, always been an Ant fan, gets unfair criticism imo!
Who else shakes up defenders like him, yes he’s not a natural CF, so what? He terrorises the opposition!

The problem is, it all depends on which Antonio turns up. All too often he spends too much time perfecting his skills at synchronised horizontal diving. His habit of shooting wildly in the general direction of the goal sometimes pays off, but more often than not, it results in blasting the ball against a defender. He’s plainly not a natural centre forward, but does his best to imitate one. He is a strong player, but lacks certain skills required by a centre forward. His first touch is often too heavy. Despite this, sometimes he has a good game when things go right, but he’s 33 and will soon slow up. We cannot rely on him as our main striker and we need another player in that posiition.

It would be reassuring If we had a striker that could be relied upon in a 1 on 1 situation

O’Shea, that type of player in any position doesn’t exist unfortunately, even the top ones do miss chances, we saw it with Haaland, it’s a human error, which we all are, especially in the PL where the action is so fast, even machines break down!
Hope we can put on a decent display today, if we sit back as usual, we might get stuffed, but you never know?

Antonio has his new contract so has reverted back to his default settings of running around for a bit, missing absolute sitters and then falling over.

A lot.

I truly believe that CORNET hasn't been given a chance in the team I'd rather him at left wing back than CRESSWELL he was very good in this position for BURNLEY.⚒⚒⚒
