Well here we go again.another centre forward that Moyes can't get to score. Scamamacca made his first start for Atalanta last night. What happened, he scored 2 goals and had a 3rd disallowed by VAR in a 3-0 win.Again a forward who Moyes can't get to score leaves and starts banging them in for a new club. So how much did we lose on each player.well you do the math.

As a West Ham supporter you should care.yes great to see us get a good start to the season.but think of the money the club has lost over the bad judgement and mis use of forwards.must be close to £50 million over the last few years, that should make you care.

I care as we let a top striker leave when we shouldn't have signed him if he isn't suited to MOYES tactics you buy players that you are going to use in there best position and whatever suits them up top on their own or in a 2 or 3 which SCAMACCA was never used in that system so that isn't his fault its MOYES

Any suggestions on where KUDUS is going to fit in and who is going to be dropped for KUDUS as I can't see MOYES playing him and PAQUETA in the same team I think I know who's head is for the chopping block MOYES favourite player to be subbed BENNY but KUDUS isn't a winger I'd play a 3-5-1-1 with KUDUS in behind ANTONIO who I thought was dreadful against LUTON that's the 2 sides of him.⚒⚒⚒

Agreed whorya48. We have to play both. I'm not sure how moyes will fit them in . No doubt will play one out of position. Not sure he's tactically good enough to figure it out. Benrhama will probably be dropped I guess.

Problem here is, as you guys have suggested, MOYES buys players NOT for the position they are best playing in, but the best position he can slot them into. He buys centre forwards who are tall and rangey, whereas we need a strong, pacey forward that can hold the ball up allowing the midfiled to join. Antonio is not a Centre Forward and never has been. Neither is Bowen, he uses them as makeshift scorers. Danny Ings is too old and past his prime, but did we bother to buy a toung hungry striker. GIFT ORBAN would have been ideal, although expensive. Iheanacho would have been a good shout and cheap at £15 to £20m. There are plenty of strikers out there and we did NOTHING. Anyway, roll on Jan when the fun and games all starts again. 4th in the league which we have to be happy with and maybe, just maybe, if we can keep players healthy a shot at a domestic trophy?

All good points in answer to Soccerschool’s question. Moyes believes he has the Midas touch with turning wingers into centre forwards since he had the luck of transforming Arnie into a lone striker. So far, his subsequent efforts have eluded him. His purchases of natural centre forwards hasn’t worked out either because he has an inability to adapt his defensive tactics. We are now facing at least 4 months of relying again on the fitness of an ageing winger converted into a centre forward, with a back up of a player who is clearly unsuited to the Moyes system, or another young option who is not trusted by the manager to fulfil the role.

As far back as his Everton days, he played 4-5-1 and the wide players such as Leon Osman occasionally for into the box and scored. Also deployment of the Oz lad Cahill as AM cum striker. I am not saying this is necessarily good, just his MO.
