Imo I think Think we will get Lingard before the window closes? After reading the D Mail interview with J Redknapp there seemed to be innuendos there was a possibility of him coming to us? I think the "10%" chance was another smokescreen from DM.
I definitely don't want to see Bowen used in any deal with the Scousers or anybody, he is DM type of player that grafts in a game so I can't see DM sanctioning that?
Keep what we have at WH, it's not a big squad, but big enough for the PL even if not for Europe, that would take seasons of consistency of top 6 finishing and investing, not 1 season! Can see us getting 3
Points today at the Toonâš’âš’âš’âš’ COYI.

Pointless us getting in Europe in the first place then wasn't it and shows the true ambition of the club?

Our squad isn't even bug enough for pl, 1 striker, 3 cbs, not much to talk about when covering Central midfield either.

Rather a silly statement to make that it’s “pointless getting into Europe” no club plays to lose, if you get to a Euro position in the PL, that’s great, but you can’t magic funds, I think they may be holding back money for Lingard transfer?

Even with lingard we are still short squad wise, the first team is decent enough but as soon as injuries kick in we will be in trouble, as usual our transfer strategy is ponderous and seems to have no focus on what we need, we will just go for what's left ie what's cheap as clubs couldn't shift elsewhere.

{Ed002's Note - There is also a huge issue with the age of the squad.}

Chelmsford as always you make very sound and reasonable points but I think we might have to sacrifice the likes of Bowen to be able to increase squad numbers. As mentioned on a previous post I think Bowen is worth Phillips and Origi …. not a bad deal. The only clubs really investing in new players at the moment are those with very rich owners or those that have a commodity to sell (Grealish etc) . I really don’t want us to sell our top commodity, Declan therefore we need to look at other ways to generate funds for deals. In PL terms we are skint, C.V. has hit hard and this will not be a normal transfer window. Areola, Phillips, Origi, Lingard and Rice retained with the loss of Bowen, Andersen and Balbuena would constitute a good window in my book. Any additional loans/ frees on top would be a bonus.

Lingard and Milenkovic, will sign this month! 😀 Origi possible, 45 million the three!

Chances of joining HAMMERS this month, lingard 95%, Milenkovic 75%, origi 50%! 😀. What do you think Eds?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to give percentages but there is interest from elsewhere from Lingard but I suspect there is a good chance WHU will win out. Not so sure about Nikola Milenkovic but keep an eye on Duje Caleta-Car with the lady from Marseille arriving back in England yesterday. Origi is of interest to others but WHU might win out as they are a more attractive option in terms of game time. But the scattergun approach continues.}

Bowen is worth more than origi and phillips.

I don't think it would be out of the question for us to sign lingard, origi and either Milenkovic or Zouma. I would be happy with that it would give us attacking options and plenty of cover. I do really like the combination of benrahma fornals and bowen they all give us something a little different and complement each other well but we will need to rotate and both lingard and origi would give us options. Between lanzini fornals noble ad Coventry they can support/ cover rice and soucek.
