EMERSON, just madness, players leaving for flumpence, 10 m NO 6 m NO 3 m euro! Plus bits
Because he doesn't get on with Potter
Whilst Sullivan rubs his hands saving 100 k a week
On the one hand stops the player sitting in
Rome, drinking Coffee, getting paid for nothing
On the other hand, he's a good player, worth more than that, after Potters gone, next manager would want him
Silly business like Alvarez
WH terrible management, No forward thinking
Terrible manager
No wonder we are, where we are!

31 year old, 1 year left on his contract, I'd be happy to get anything. He could sign for another club in January and we'd get nothing

Joyfull, that is how they look at it, small fee but get 5mil off the years wage bill. Rather than him sit there doing nothing, fee plus wages in effect 8 mil for the player. We can’t shift these players in stupid wages as clubs can’t afford them so this is the best deal for the club.

He has one year option on contract, so that point, could be immaterial, new manager might find him more than useful, Sullivans main interest is thinning the squad to save wages, which he is doing quite nicely,
ASK yourself this question, how many players have already left …10 add Emerson, and three probables Irving, Rodriguez. Cornet equals 14

How many have come in? 6., let’s add Potts as he’s in the squad 7
Realistically Marshall Earthy, should be sent out on loan to. Championship , that’s. Common knowledge, they are not yet Premier ready

So at present time we are SEVEN. Short in the squad, which already has two injuries Guilherme, and Summerville, few more injuries which are inevitable maybe a suspension, what team are you putting out
SQUAD is too small full stop
OH what a minute too many useless Goalkeepers

I’m with Joyfull on this. Skaman, it’s not as if this suddenly dropped out of the sky. Everyone knew months ago that he didn’t get on with the clueless Potter. Plenty of time to negotiate or even get rid of the main problem: Potter!

I thought at the start of the window back in June Emerson asked for the move back to Italy and was told amicably to look for another club. It was mentioned there was no beef between either party and that Emerson had behaved impeccably. If he’s sat in Rome drinking coffee then surely he should be looking for a new agent ??‍♂️

30 Aug 2025 12:20:10
He didn’t ask for a transfer, his behaviour always good, as was his training, Potter, fell out with him, almost immediately, as he didn’t want him supporting the attack
Then another fall out, followed by another, followed by another, all by the worst manager in our history

Just Maybe it’s Potter,?

30 Aug 2025 12:26:57
Yeah Tin i agree to a point, but everyone was moaning about Ings, Cornet and whoever else warming the bench for 100+k a week. Emerson would only be doing the same. Plus regarding the year extension, that would bring him up to 33 years old. 10m wages over 2 years on the off chance he plays through injuries and then he walks away a free agent

30 Aug 2025 12:28:33
Dabber, he was in Italy for physiotherapy because he had a back injury. Surely the man is allowed a cup of coffee now and then

We usually wait for players until, they’re 33 before we bring them in, Skaman.

It strikes me that a lot of people blame some of the players when things aren’t going right. Yet our last three managers seemed to favour a negative defensive style of football. No wonder so many players fall out with the manager when they can see it’s not working. How many of them would speak out against a positive attacking formula? Well, maybe one …. JWP.

Skaman, of course he’s entitled to a coffee and actually I don’t have a problem with Emerson at all, he’s been a great player and always given 100%. Earlier in the summer, when things were calmer, somebody on here said that Emerson had been given agreement to find a new club in Italy as he wanted to go back. There was no fall out it was a mutual agreement and all was well. Now suddenly it appears that he and Potter had a massive fall out and he was told to go because Potter didn’t like him pushing forward ….then we sign Diouf a forward playing left back. Come on guys I want Potter out now as much as the next man but you can’t change the narrative to make out it’s all his fault. And Tin Legs sometimes it is the players fault otherwise why would you come on here and slate JWP, Souchek, Rodrigues, Kilman, Hermansen, Areola and others ?

30 Aug 2025 14:43:45
And if anybody want clarity on my point put “Emerson” into the search at the top of the page and read the historical posts ??‍♂️

13.) 30 Aug 2025
30 Aug 2025 16:26:55
It was me who posted Emerson’s Italy return, his treatment was quick and successful nothing wrong with him, he was banned from training by Potter! Left to his own devices on 100 k a week, that’s exactly what happened, what players come in, nothing to do with it, no relevance
Sullivan intervened to get his wages off the book end of story

Our directors don’t care, all they are interested in is sell, then less value replacements, less wages full stop, that’s what is clearly happening

Hey Dabber, i wasn't trying to prove a point, i was agreeing with you. I have no problems at all with Emerson, i think he's been professional since Potter dropped him for whatever reason we don't know about.

Oh dear, Dabber, I believe once again you are mistaken and do me an injustice, the same as your previous incorrect statement about the managers I supposedly consider worse than Potter. I have never ‘slated’ Kilman, Hermansen or Areola. Whilst I will admit to believing JWP, Rodriguez and Soucek are not good enough to play in a Premiership midfield, I think that Kilman was simply overpriced, nothing more or less. I don’t recall making any derogatory or positive comment about Hermansen and certainly nothing of a major criticism of Areola whom I still consider to be a good goalkeeper. You have either invented scenarios in your own mind for some unknown reason, or you have me confused with someone else. If I am wrong, please provide the relevant posts in evidence and I will be the first to apologise for my mistake.

31 Aug 2025 11:14:36
Tin Legs apologies if I listed a few names you haven’t slated but I assure you there is no “invented scenario” in my mind. As for the managers you were hardly glowing about any of their credentials and even said that if we had Southgate we’d be suicidal, how is that not saying he’s at least as bad as Potter? Before you talk of injustice have a look at your replies to posts made by Brooking in which you constantly belittle their opinion and roll your eyes via emoji. They are entitled to their opinion and should be able to express them without being patronised. Let’s go back to ignoring each, it’s much more conducive to a happier atmosphere.

Dabber, your comments are still supposition on your part. You assume that I think Southgate is as bad as Potter with use of the term ‘suicidal’. I don’t.
I don’t recall criticising Hermansen, yet you accuse me of ‘slating’ him. I believe Areola is a good GK, yet you accuse me of ‘slating’ him. I believe Kilman was overpriced, but is a reasonable centre back. Again, erroneously accused of ‘slating’ him. I said Rodriguez was not suited to the Premiership. Another ‘slating’? IMO Soucek has some bad games, can’t pass a ball, but can use his head. I like the bloke, but don’t want him in the team. ‘Slating’? As for JWP …. Well, we all know what the vast majority think of him. I think he’s a Championship player at best.
Anyway, my original post was about players’ attitude, not their ability. I believe your first reply confuses the two, as I have never made any comment on the attitude of any of the six players you listed including JWP.
As for posts by Brooking, I am of the opinion that some of them are bordering on delusional, as highlighted by Joyfull. Yet I perceive no criticism of Joyfull’s comments by your good self. And before you offer “that’s because he’s not as prolific in his criticism of Brooking as you”, I also have an opinion and reserve the right to voice it. I have no ill feeling towards Brooking, or for that matter any other contributor here, but if I think some comments are ridiculous and need addressing, then I will do so. That’s what discussion forums are about to my mind.
If you choose to ignore any posts here, I respect your choice, but I think it’s a shame because I have enjoyed our exchanges which, for my part, have always been friendly and enjoyable.

Tin Legs, you’re response is very reasonable, I can’t argue with any of it. You’re posts are generally very honest and direct which can easily be mis-read, I also suspect you might be a wind up merchant and there’s nothing up with that. I too, in the main, have enjoyed our sparring although we do seem to get each others back up now again. I won’t be ignoring you mate but will still call you out if I think you’re talking B***ocks ?
