TRUTH OF THE MATTER, I know it makes me unpopular on this site, but the truth is better than silly lies
WH are in " scramble mode " if you want to believe differently that's ok, with me
Every single bid in the last two weeks, wether verbal of formal, for various players, has been rejected, WH valuations, in some cases are far from reality
Coupled with that, a lot of targets, just don't want to come
WH now are well behind, the teams, we looked to be on a par with Forest Bournemouth, Brighton etc
Sullivan going to inject some money shortly £10/12 m,
But it's clutching at straws WH have been seriously underfunded
If we get into trouble this season naturally Potter will take the Flak,
But he's being hung out to dry
Of course another, couple of players will arrive, before window shuts, as we sink lower on fees, so might the quality
This so far is a poor window, Will WH pay the price?
Sullivan has borrowed an enourmous amount of money, it's not buying players! That's for sure

Joyfull love reading your posts mate, it’s obvious we’re not going to attract top top players but what about the top players that performed in the championship last season, let’s not forget where Bowen and Summerville come from, there’s some good players in that league that just want to play in the premier league. ?

Totally agree stevie, WH are slow and ponderous, , in discussing players and then making descisions then That all leads to Sullivan, TBH mate, I’m getting fearfull, I know majority disagree with me, that’s ok, but we are short on quality, short on numbers,
Let’s be honest between us, we are both long years WH supporters, let’s leave the defence out of it, it’s not great, but average decent, if Bowen gets an injury, where are the goals coming from, Fulkrug, will get a few, but Wilson, Marshall, cmon, Wilson’s not even fit , he needs three weeks, pre season training, Marshall, he’s a good kid, but Huddersfield are in Division One, it’s a massive leap, the correct move, was to buy a forward like Guessand, who’s gone to Villa, send Marshall to Championship for a year, then we have a forward, I think WH are dicing with trouble, yes 2/3 purchases, can change things, but times moving on, regards Joyfull

Problem is Joyful is as you said, we are too slow and ponderous
We find players we want, take 3 weeks to discuss, bid stoopid offers and then move onto 15 or 16 other options. We could have gone for Mukau with sensible offer, yunus musah was another. El khannouss was another and then we SEEMINGLY bid £30m for Fernandes. A joke really.
Pellegrini available on a free we were in talks with a week ago, then talk died down whilst we turn our attention to Fernandes. NOW we are talking again
It's poor recruitment from those supposedly supporting Potter.
I'm shocked a club as big as this conducts its business as bad as it does

Hamer from Sheff Utd wouldn’t cost the earth and knows where the goal is, just a shout. ?

I do get they've invested in players, problem is, Sullivan was advised badly by his associates (Salthouse and co) and of course he can't help put meddle in things that should be left to the manager

Afternoon Joyfull, I think there are a number of loan deals out there that could suit us. You mentioned Hojlund being offered if he’s not sold by 24th August, I think he’d be worth a punt on loan but I’d actually prefer Zirkzee who must be way down the pecking order now. He was agood player pre Man Utd and I think there’s still a good player in there. I think we’ll unearth a couple more before deadline day but as you say Sullivan creates this natural toxic atmosphere around the club that incoming players can’t ignore. Let’s just hope we get off to a flyer tomorrow

Also everyone is forgetting we have only 7 homegrown so there is only 1 squad place left. If we shift Alverez, Irving and Rodriquez that will free up space for potentially 4 coming in. Realistically if those 3 go, I believe we will just get two mids in either freebies or on loan. Joyfull said Chelsea, Arsenal and Monaco have offered us a heap of players, so I won’t be surprised to see 2 loans coming in with option.

THE main take is clear Sullivan wants to spend as little as possible, he thinks a bit here and their is enough, maybe he’ll be right, maybe he’ll be wrong, it’s a big gamble he’s taking in my opinion, that again, IMO, is why he’s borrowing far more money, than feasible, in case, the value of WH football club dives down,
We have sold one player for £55 m, looks like two more out the door shortly for £10.m Equals £65 m gross , how much spent gross £55m including taxes on four players, he’s looking to inject £10 m, add the ten to 65 equals 75 m less £55 m leaves 20 m gross to spend on incomings, more if Alvarez or Mavrapanos is sold .his aim is a level book, in this window, that’s how it’s panning out, hope I’m wrong, Dicey business

Stevie good shout. Mac, yup agreed, Sullivan thinks he has superior knowledge, starting tomorrow, we will begin to find out

Mac3 if you read other teams sites, most say the same thing about their teams showing interest in this player or that player then nothing. Palace 2 signings, Fulham 1 signing, Wolves 4. The 3 teams that have come up have filled up with mostly unknown players, Sunderland in particular have signed 10 news players, regardless of the result against us it will be quite a while for them to adapt to the premier league. Before you say anything Joyfull, Xhaka is 32, Diarra potential, and that’s about it as far as Sunderland signings go. Leeds load of cheapies plus DCL who will keep the physios busy, Burnley again a bunch of cheapies. Get a couple of decent mids on loan and we will be fine. Bored to death, but fine.

Stevie66 Not too sure about Hamer, only scored 30 goals in Championship in 201 games, that is just over 1 in 6. Think he would struggle in Prem in my opinion.

15 Aug 2025 17:30:17
Gerry, yeah loans could well be, but football now is also a bench, and numbers game, over the course of 20 games until January 1st, it’s a lot of games, and WH at present, assuming at least 2 more leave, are at least FIVE players short, all this talk with Potter is just bravado, he’s a yes man, I don’t need a big squad, yeh alright, until the injuries occur, then what? just word for word repeated straight from Sullivans mouth
13.) 15 Aug 2025
15 Aug 2025 18:34:19
Listen, I like potter, and if he had his players then I think he would do ok, but with Sullivans players we’ll have to wait and see, managers will always say the right things in front of the cameras so not to upset the owners but I really hope he does well as he has been dealt a really bad hand by Sullivan, fingers crossed for tomorrow.

@gerry, key difference about those teams you've mentioned and ourselves is they don't need to do rebuilds every season like us because they are will ran and have balanced squads, they can make improve and maintain with 2-3 signings, but we're a mess and ran by a clown that thinks he knows best.
We shouldn't have to he relying on loans to fix the midfield that's been a problem since Rice left.
Magassa, makau, hackney, deossa, onyedika, frendrup, all midfielders available available at a reasonable price and all have potential to offer a lot more than our current slow old midfield. Instead we are day before the season and it looks like potts is going to make his first full prem debut alongside the immobile ward prowse could be a tough afternoon.
You downplay sunderlands midfield signings but enzo le fe and Xhaka wall into our midfield. don't know much about the others but I wouldn't be surprised if they would as well. Let's hope the occasion gets the better of them.

AL I was going to post those teams, just don’t need the volume of replacements we do, and for those reasons, you saved me a long post

Surely it's time for Sullivan to sell the club!? It's been obvious for yrs he's floundering. Do we have no one interested? You would have thought with 60,000 for most games you'd have a consortium who could see potential there. Beggars belief

15 Aug 2025 22:02:54
RAMSEY is a SALTHOUSE player and use us to get him a move to a bigger club he was NEVER coming to us stinks of the DWARF trying to sell season tickets same with ELLIOT the rumours flying about i never once believed either was coming to us.COYI

The problem is The DWARF values transfer targets himself and that's ok if your not going to pay over that, but clubs value their players and that's what they want not what sully wants to pay and there is the problems, it doesn't work like that sully when a club says £40 mill it doesn't mean £22 million and not addressing our main positions where we are short is SULLYS fault as he's the one who's signing players and has the last say but he will throw GP under the bus like he did STEIDTEN but the bottom line is which we all know is while THE POISON DWARF is in charge of everything then we are always going to be where we are i'm suprised SULLY hasn't said to put himself on the bench as he's doing everything else or trying to.COYI
