Strange selection considering Bissake and Todibo are fit and ready to go, let's hope Loppy has got it right

We improved following that dicey penalty decision, Villa could have been 0-3, we were being totally out played, the only difference I can see so far, is we are TRYING to defend further forward, the problem with that system is fast winger breakouts which we are seeing now

No shortage of effort, but not good enough, by a long long way, theirs nothing there to suggest, a top side, , Kilman and Kudos best players, Bowen anonymous, Summerville just a cameo, true, tricky but looks a bit lightweight, Todibo was totally fit, why not play him from the start? There’s a week before Palace, lot of work to be done for me,

Think Summerville looked lively after a nervy start. Ings looked the best of the 3 forwards. AWB needs to replace Coufal, JWP looked good when coming on. Bowen looked poor as did Coufal. Rodriguez does lots of nothing.

I think there were more positives than negatives. Bowen was quiet but will come good. Todibo, Summerville and Kilman look like great signings. Fulkrug and Rodrigues may need more time but the latter is the back up for Alvarez. Possession was better, the manager post match more honest than Moyes and AWB will greatly improve the right when he starts. I think we need another forward but let's not forget Emery has turned Villa into a top side and we had them rattled for good periods f the 2nd half. I personally think we do have the makings of a top side and ironically Duran was the difference ultimately between the 2 sides and price has probably gone up ….

We need a young CDM athlete who can break up and close the oppositions players to stop them putting their foot on the ball and having time to pick out their forward thinking players as SOUCEK cannot be the man to do this as he's incapable, I mean god loves a Trier and that cannot be up for debate but come on him and JWP aren't the men for us this season to do that job, I know ALVAREZ isn't fit yet but with the injury he's out with at the minute has a nasty habit of reacurring which would leave us in rubbish street as the window could be closed when this could happen, I thought Rodriguez looked good on the ball but look devoid of any pace and why I know it's the first game of the new season but he must have been fairly fit otherwise he would have started with JWP as he'd look a bit of a hypocrite by not starting with the other new players I don't think we will cope with the current strikers without bringing in a new striker as ANTONIO was awful today I thought the 2 best players was KUDUS and TINO also KILMAN had a fair game the disappointment was BOWEN he was very average for his usual standards but its early days and you couldn't write it that DURAN would come off the bench and get the winner but this is why we are WHUFC.⚒⚒⚒

We 100% should not have sold Downes he looked quality against Newcastle. He would have given the midfield exactly what we needed yesterday.

Apparently, Duran’s price of £40 million still stands and the player is still keen to come to the London Stadium. If true, we should pull out all stops, shed Sullivan’s secondhand car salesman’s bodysuit, and just go and get him.

If it’s a choice between Abraham or Duran, I know which one I prefer. Duran looks sharper and he’s only 20. He played about half an hour against us, and we had no answer to him.
