The reason we always bid lower than the asking price is that DGS know that if we underbid then it will never get excepted but will give the fans and the media the impression that we are big players in the transfer market. We seriously need to start paying the asking price if we are that determined to bring a player to the club because this whole saga we go through every season is getting boring now, Like the whole " I don't want to tell the media what league this striker is playing in because you will all know who it is " Yeah great bit of business bringing Eminike in when we were promised a 20 goal a season striker. Just pay the money before we lose our best chance of getting a top 4 finish we have ever had. We keep being dangled with the carrot but ending up with the cabbage.

last summer we signed obiang ogbonna payet and antonio and lanzini on loan which we made permenant how can you moan about that?

we also loaned emenike before anyone said about a 20 goal a season striker I agree he was crap though

as things stand none of these targets has actually signed for anyone else

we are also now competing with much bigger clubs so it's harder for us to get the players we want

by all means slag the owners off if they don't deliver after the windows shut but I think after last year they've earnt a little bit of time and backing there's plenty of targets out there and we've already made 2 excellent signings this window.

I'm starting to panic now that we haven't sorted out a striker for this season yet, I know the euros are on and window doesn't open till Friday, but this has been going on for few seasons now . Don't want to be left with another flop up front .

Agreed, but as I already posted, I fear we will end up with a REMY esq or another Eminike last minute desperate grab for a striker. Why can't we just identify a target we want, find out what the asking price is and go pay it instead of wheeling and dealing ALL THE TIME. I get the need for getting a good deal, but surely if we want this player pay the asking price.

I'm not saying that Messrs GOLD and SULLIVAN are penny pinching (cause they've done some great business for this club) . What I am saying is that if we REALLY WANT A PLAYER just pay the money (or are they saying we don't have any money) . Gorkan Tore saga for instance. This has been going for weeks and we've still not finalised a deal for a player SB REALLY wants. He wants ANTE CORIC who is valued at £10m but we will offer £7m. Just pay the asking price if WE WANT THEM THAT BAD and stop playing games allowing other clubs to gazump us.

don't panic even if we don't sign anyone which we will anyway, we banged n plenty of goals last year ad already have more firepower with feghouli supplying already

think about last sumer we were panicking about having no wingers and on last day of window we got antonio!

I really wish dgs had shut up and said nothing about signings now if we don't spend 30 million on a striker a lot of people will see this window as a failure

also carroll was fitter than he's ever been at back end of last season, if e could actually stay fit for a whole year I reacon he could get 20 goals.

I have to admit, its still only the start of the summer transfer window and ok, a few targets have gone by the wayside but, there are quite a few still left. Martin Braithwaite still in the pipeline as is Calleri. Mario Gomez is also on the hitlist so lots yet to do.
