Lets all get behind Matri and give him time to deliver.

27 Aug 2015 22:14:04
Unfortunately he doesn't have time needs to be good straight away anyway he hasn't even signed yet I'll give him a chance if he does sign though

28 Aug 2015 06:07:55
1 in 18 fantastic

28 Aug 2015 10:27:59
I know matri isn't our dream transfer, but one thing about the bloke he works his nuts off and I think we can do with that and he is Italian and the last Italian stricker we had was probably our best not including di Michelle or diamanti

27 Aug 2015 21:10:30
Time dgs stopped being money grabbers an properly invested in team not like we don't have money

28 Aug 2015 06:09:02
We don't, that is blatantly obvious.

27 Aug 2015 18:20:52
This is now getting beyond the joke wake up to yet more news of supposed targets now looking elsewhere. Now I know everyone wanted rid of Nolan (me included) but for God sake, make sure you have a replacement first.Barton now may be going to Burnley, Song to Milan, and oh yeah we send Poyet off on loan to MK Dons! I'm sorry that is just piss poor management. Other posters have highlighted free transfers that could fill our ranks so to D/Gold & SULLIVAN please do the right thing and sort out this mess, or bow out sell up and give it to someone that can.SICK AND TIRED OF BEING THE JOKE OF THE PRIMIER LEAGUE. A VERY UPSET HAMMERS FAN!!

27 Aug 2015 19:44:49
Likewise bobcole7. What amazes me is that mighty Norwich have just had a £10m bid rejected for afobe! They went straight in with £10m and they have strikers but they know they need more who will get goals. And then there is west ham who mess about with pathetic under bidding time and time again. I do appreciate what gold and Sullivan have done but, we need wingers and strikers. Why not just pay the bloody £6.6m for yilmaz before someone else does. What about Joel Campbell at £6m who can play as striker or winger. If we want moses or Antonio then find out what they valued at and then pay the bloody money otherwise if they don't intend to look elsewhere

27 Aug 2015 16:11:53
And so another day goes by and no new developmenst except that its fast becoming apparent we going to have a long hard season until SB sorts the place out and gets HIS first 11 in place.

27 Aug 2015 18:41:24
All we can hope is he turns ot to be the manager of all managers because I think even big sam with all his premier league experience would of struggled to keep this squad up.i just hope we are not cut too far adrift come january and we can go through this whole transfer saga again.keep the faith. "COME ON YOU IRONS"

27 Aug 2015 19:09:58
I doubt he will last that long, a) He must have believed the rubbish the board spun him the same as we did, and will get fed up being the rag and bone men of the Prem, or b) when we are bottom christmas the board will blame him as get rid. Either one of these will happen or both!
I can think of 8 1st team squad players who have left and we have signed 5, so we need 3 signings just to be the same as last season and we struggled with injuries then, can they not see what is blatantly obvious, we need signings quickly and good ones otherwise we are doomed!

27 Aug 2015 19:26:55
The way we are going they will pick themselves as there will only be 11 of them!

27 Aug 2015 16:05:40
Nathan Dyer anybody??? Vydra?? Hangeland?? Senderos?? Odemwingie?? Guidetti?? Friedel

27 Aug 2015 17:48:12
NO times 7 for me.
But I take your point Phil that if we wanted bodies in we could get them. Expected a Barton and Yilmaz and/or Ad'or announcement with the other 2 going but it wasn't a cunning plan. Mo legged it and Bobby walked it.

27 Aug 2015 19:06:41
Nathan Dyer maybe, wouldn't fancy any of the others.

27 Aug 2015 19:47:40
But it shows players are out there if we look hard enough. Gradel took us apart and we could have had him

27 Aug 2015 14:27:45
DGS repair the damage and break the bank, SIGN AUSTIN!!!!

27 Aug 2015 15:05:51
Rich in my opinion that's only 25% of what we need, we desperately need width and attacking minded players, I am a fan of Austin but him alone would not solve the problem

27 Aug 2015 19:13:25
I agree, you could have Cristiano Ronaldo up front and he would struggle without attacking midfielders and wide men.

27 Aug 2015 13:19:04
Michu available for 5m euros
Joel Campbell available for 5m.
Surely these two are worth a punt
Joel Campbell can also play outwide and uptop, we're be killing 2 birds 1 stone

27 Aug 2015 19:48:09
Michu???

27 Aug 2015 12:48:15
And so now we turn our attentions to any free agent we can identify and the latest of which is Alessandro MATRI. You TELL ME NOW WHERE OUR MONEY IS. WE'RE SIGNING NOBODY ELSE UNLESS THEY ARE FREE.
What a pathetic way to run a club. Your telling me that we blew ALL our Summer budget on OBIANG, OGBONNA and PAYET (Lanzini was season loan and Hendrie was bought last year oh and let's not forget RUDOLPH)
We did get some money back with the sale of Downing and Maiga and wages reduced heavily getting rid of Cole, Downing and Nolan. WTF Is going on??? And don't anybody try and tell me about FFP limitations. This is a JOKE

27 Aug 2015 12:29:06
Hi is anyone going Liverpool Saturday?, if so how much was the ticket for the away fans face value please

27 Aug 2015 14:46:42
Hi there Wellington
Can't make it this week (so we;ll probably win) which is the worst thing that could happen because then Gold and Sullivan will say that everything is ok

27 Aug 2015 14:51:56
The wife won;t let me go this week cause of the fiasco going on. She thinks am wasting my money Ooops

27 Aug 2015 19:15:09
Phil1016 she is right and obviously knows more than the barrow boys.

27 Aug 2015 19:50:26
Probably. She is a scouser.

28 Aug 2015 08:44:29
Phil don't tell her, say your going out for a loaf, and come back after the match around 8ish, and say . bloody queues in Greggs was horrendous.

Also on your way back pop into your local to see the DVD man and get the latest Romantic Comedy out with Sandra Bullock

Buy her a curry and wine, blow MOTD out and curl up to the film, all will be forgotten once the Korma and Zinfandel go down

{Ed001's Note - you are such a charmer! I will have to make sure my missus never meets you or I will be out on my ear.}

Same old West Ham at the start of the summer filled with optimism about the new manager shiny new stadium and new exciting players. Now at the end of the summer with 5 days to go before the transfer window closes I'm having second thoughts about the manager hopefully I'm wrong early doors yet. At the moment there seems to be no discipline at the club the defence and organisation is all over the place and red cards are a regular thing. Ironically were going after BARTON so being a man down should be a common theme this season. Hot heads all round. The latest pictures of the new stadium have proved my doubts to be true. The seating is allful its nothing but an after thought a botched up stadium which is not fit for football but I'm sure there try and put pretty bells and whistles on with claret and blue lights to try and please all our fans. Pitiful. Randolph was a mistake so was Ogbonna should of paid an extra couple of mil and pushed for someone like Van dijk to partner Reid. Still no back up right back to challenge Jenkinson, Song who was our best player for the first half of last season looking more and more not to be obtained instead BARTON on a free. Wow inspiring. No wingers at the club apart from Jarvis the magnificent not to mention two unfit strikers and the third on Bail. The owners desperately trying to get in recruits at the last minute by offering sub standard offers which are all rejected. Loans and frees are want were end up with probably BARTON some mickey mouse winger and no doubt Adebeyor to save the day. I can hardly contain myself with excitement. I feel sorry for Payet who is probably thinking, 'what have I done?. ' And of course there are our loyal fans there through thick and thin having to stand by and witness this fiasco. If your listening Gold and Sullivan its time to wake up and smell the coffee at the moment the clubs becoming a rudderless ship with no forward thinking no professionalism dare I say it 'tin pot' club which other fans have been calling us its embarrassing we becoming a laughing stock. Get your house in order tydy up this mess fast otherwise this rudderless ship might soon become a sinking ship come May and we don't want that now do we! 5 days to sort this out!

27 Aug 2015 14:54:21
COuldn;t agree with you more. Great article, just a shame its only us fans that are listening. On the back of what you have said I have to ask all of us fans out there "why is it that we fans can see where we need to strengthen and have been able to see for 2 years but our owners can't"?
Its a joke and a poor way to run a club. Too much focus this summer went onto SONG (another midfielder may I add) and not enough on forwards which are appalling. If your conceding more than your scoring your in trouble. SB will be gone at christmas unless there are dramatic changes and the curse of Sam will strike again

27 Aug 2015 19:23:12
Great post Woz, just a shame that Gold & Sullivan don't read our posts.
I am the same as you, looked forward optimistically to a good season, new manager, some good looking early signings and then nothing but joke offers for players who probably wouldn't come anyway.
Why didn't we try in Europe as I am sure it would have been an attractant to some players, but oh no, let's just bail out of it as we might have to spend money on the squad.
People keep saying that the new stadium will be half empty if we go down, I doubt there will be 20,000 there as most of us have had enough and relegation would be the final nail in the coffin!

27 Aug 2015 11:30:35
Told ya all that we were going to hold on and on to see what our striker situation is and I reckon we'll play sakho up front for the next few weeks until Carroll returns and that will suffice

27 Aug 2015 10:29:06
Guys n Gals. I was just looking at the list of premier league free agents that were available at the dn of last season and surely there has to be some we could have had (and possibly still is) amongst this lot:

Arsenal: Mathieu Flamini, Abou Diaby, Damian Martinez

Aston Villa: Darren Bent, Ron Vlaar, Chris Herd, Enda Stevens

Burnley: Dean Marney, Steven Reid, Ross Wallace, Michael Duff, Danny Ings

Chelsea: Didier Drogba, Gael Kakuta

Crystal Palace: Shola Ameobi, Jerome Thomas, Brede Hangeland, Owen Garvan, Damien Delaney

Everton: Sylvain Distin, Antolin Alcaraz, Luke Garbutt

Hull City: Steve Harper, Liam Rosenior, Paul McShane, Alex Bruce, Stephen Quinn, Yannick Sagbo, Maynor Figueroa, Joe Dudgeon

Leicester: Esteban Cambiasso, Matthew Upson, Paul Konchesky, Marcin Wasilewski, Dean Hammond, Conrad Logan, Zoumana Bakayogo

Liverpool: Kolo Toure, Glen Johnson, Jon Flanagan, Jerome Sinclair
Manchester City: Richard Wright, James Milner, Micah Richards, John Guidetti

Manchester United: Tom Cleverley, James Wilson, Ben Amos

Newcastle United: Jonas Guitierrez, Ryan Taylor, Sammy Ameobi, Freddie Woodman

Queen Park Rangers: Shaun Wright-Phillips, Rio Ferdinand, Joey Barton, Richard Dunne, Brian Murphy, Bobby Zamora, Karl Henry, Clint Hill, Alejandro Faurlin

Southampton: Artur Boruc

Stoke City: Jonathan Walters, Thomas Sorensen, Peter Odemwingie, Andy Wilkinson, Wilson Palacios

Sunderland: Wes Brown, Anthony Reveillere

Swansea City: Gerhard Tremmel, David Cornell

Tottenham Hotspur: Brad Friedel

West Bromwich Albion: Boaz Myhill, Chris Baird, Gareth McAuley, Youssuf Mulumbu, Claudio Yacob

Do we have to do the job for them. Ok, not brilliant but could we not have gone for ANY of the above apart from CAMBIASSO. What about Odemwingie or Guidetti. What about BORUC who went to Bournemouth??? There are plenty out there if WE ONLY LOOK

27 Aug 2015 10:16:14
One thing j will say is I'm guessing dgs would've factored Europa league football into the budget so probably Lost a little bit there still doesn't Detract from the fact hey put in stupid bids for players they have no intention of buying 2 days away from a game against Liverpool no fit strikers and no prem league class wingers in our squad I don't mind so much if the money isn't there but at leas be honest with us and don't pretend to buy players you have no intention of getting if we don't add some quality to the squad we are in serious danger off relegation in my opnion

27 Aug 2015 19:25:46
It's the treadbare squad that worries me 3 less than last season!

27 Aug 2015 09:29:04
Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes, 33, has agreed terms with Turkish club Besiktas and will join on a free transfer having been frozen out at Old Trafford. No chance of course that West Ham need him?

27 Aug 2015 08:30:59
GOOD NEWS AT LAST. West ham are to form a partnership with Vvv-Venlo for Holland. that's the news we've all been waiting for, NOT!
Wafer thin squad and not much being done to improve it.

Any news on Joel Campbell these days who could do a good job for us and valued about £6m which means we'll bid £2m

27 Aug 2015 09:34:55
You mean £2 quid feel will be the opening bid

27 Aug 2015 10:31:05
He he I was trying to be conservative. And when Notts Forest turn us down in a cash plus player and his wages deal we are in serious trouble; Look at all the free agents that were available in my other post

27 Aug 2015 07:59:57
Morning all. Nothing but depressing news today I'm afraid and it doesn;t look to be getting any better soon. Squad is now paper thin and god help us if we get any further injuries. Maiga and NOlan have gone and it seems that Jarvis will be going soon and NO NEW INCOMINGS on the horizon apart from Barton who of course is on a free. Stalemate with MOSES and YILMAZ with 3 other deals falling by the wayside. We are DOOMED and heading the wrong way

27 Aug 2015 09:06:33
Don't panic Mr Mannering.

Can't believe we would do this without players coming in-I actually feel v positive about these developments.

27 Aug 2015 13:18:31
Hi Millsey, are you serious? or first team squad is far smaller than last season and no sign of anyone wanting to join. Bargain Hunt time at the Boleyn, keep expecting to hear transfer news from Tim Wonnacott!

27 Aug 2015 07:03:21
Lets take a quick look at the state of play everybody. We all keep going on about how we are desperate for strikers and wingers and lo and behold we've APPARENTLY been knocked by by both Chelsea and Forest. In both cases we didn;t offer what they were asking (sounding familiar??). Juve have pulled the plug on ZAZA deal so we are back to the start AGAIN. Why therefore are we not asking clubs before hand what their valuation is and at least offering something somewhere near the valuadtion. It makes me laugh because we were quite happy to pay good moneey out for OBIANG and OGBONNA but when it comes to the positions we need to fill most we keep trying to penny pinch. 3 times at LEAST we have been to Galatasaray for Yilmaz. Why on earth didn;t we just pay the asking fee if we want him that bad (like other teams do) and this would have been done and dusted by now. ANyway, Nolan has left YIPPEEEEEEEEEE. Barton is joining which might be a good thing and give us a bit of balance and bite in midfield instead of NOLAN who is normally ahead of the striker. Daft as it sounds but I reckon Barton will fit well if he keeps his mouth shut.

5 days to go peeps and still nothing. I can bet that the board are hoping to rush AC back this weekend so they don't have to dig deep, typical. Oh, and MAIGA has gone also. what's the betting we end up with Adebayor because he COSTS NOTHING BUT HIS WAGES

28 Aug 2015 15:15:45
Phil, I have to say I find this rather cynical, Kevin Nolan has been a great servant to WHU. No disrespect, but Carlton Cole is still available and knows the club inside out. He's a shoe-in.
