Hi IronMike, firsty like many others I greatly appreciate all the info you put on here. Do you happen to know if Jordan Rhodes has been considered? I know he was linked during the Allardyce days or whether this was all just paper talk? He would seem a cheaper alternative to Austin while not proven at the very highest level.

Hii Scottish hammer, the strange thing is this? Rhodes SHOULD be the obvious candidate for many premier league teams, after all he's been banging them in. In the championship for ages, but NO one has ever gone for him? You have to ask yourself why, the guy has been scouted more times than you can imagine, still no bid, wh and everton between them have watched him a dozen times at least, obviously they don't think he's right for the job? At this time he looks to be heading to MIddlesboro, with Sheffield we'd also in the Frame, no premiership interest at all at this time? IRONMIKE

Thanks for the update Ironmike, I see your point that there must be a reason why nobody has gone in for him, I just always found it strange that people wouldn't be prepared to take the gamble on a guy who has been so prolific (all be it at lower leagues). Fingers crossed we can bring in one or two quality strikers in the coming weeks.

I know I brought this up previously Ironmike, but I am still surprised that West Ham are not considering Jordan Rhodes again. Cheaper than Austin with lower wage demands, a better goal scoring record (all be it at a lower league) and he is younger. If we could bring in Halilovic, Song, Mirallas and a striker I think dgs deserve a lot of praise for their work.
