Snodgrass played well yes because this is his level, Wimbledon then played two banks of four which I have saying we must do and made it so difficult for us, means nothing to me sorry don't get too excited, I'm still to be convinced sorry. IRONMIKE.

Agreed mike. With you on that. We should be looking like a premier league yet again. we look like a championship team at best with players that I feel are only here for a pay check. I don't feel like these players out their all into games. When you look at teams like Brighton that have some much passion for the club yet we look somewhat deflated and out of ideas.

We have made some poor buys in the past Snodgrass and Hernandez just two of them but I thought ok gradually get shot of them and bring in some quality now we have another problem Yarmalenko who looks utter rubbish, Perez was 3 m so it’s what you can expect he’s no bargain basement find at all, sorry I’m not at all enthusiastic IRONMIKE.

Yes agreed - all it meant is that we would be a good team in the Championship but even that is based on them being down to 10 men early. Wish MP kept the same back 4 as Saturday as they need to gel.

I disagree on yarmolenko. I thought he looked class at times. Just needs to get some sharpness back and be helped my some people being in the box to pick out. I'm really liking the look of him.

Crazy how people can view things completely differently. I thought Yarmolenko was our best player until Anderson came on. He was always a threat, and he beat his man probably 8 times out of 10. A bit more match fitness/ sharpness and I think he’ll be a very good player to have.

Listen a win is a win - we need to just grind the results out until it becomes habit. Look at Man City, they’ve literally forgotten how to lose because winning has become habit!

We’ll get there - I was fairly happy with last night, we won, we shouldn’t be grumbling.

Fickle, west ham fans? until today I had always respected Ironmikes views on all things west ham, but no longer. Firstly, Snodgrass, give him a break, 3 games in! No he is not a world beater but he is beginning to show that he can fulfil a role, I remind you that he has given up playing for Scotland to focus on west ham, and lost over a stone in weight - give him some credit! . Chicharito is class, he just needs to be in the middle where he is at his best, not out wide or playing the number 10. Yarmalenko is not match fit, if you had done any research on him you would know that he is a class act - not fast but extremely skilful. Perez needs to be more central and to get up to speed and some confidence. We all know that we are desperately short in the defensive midfield areas, but last nights goal against was simply poor defending from a set play - nothing to do with midfield. Last nights game will do little for confidence in the real world but had we lost it then it would have had a significant negative effect. let's be positive here for once - Liverpool was poor and we were scared from the off, we should have beaten Bournemouth and Arsenal. let's see what the next 4 games bring as we are clearly improving. Judge after 10 when players are used to premier league and how we play! Ironmike, get your balance back and try to be a little more positive - although I do respect peoples right to their own opinion.

I have my balance mate, it’s as you say a matter of opinions, when we look like a team, play like a team and win Like a team then I will be the first to hit the rafters this was a ten man league one team. We play wolves on Saturday let’s brush them aside then I will be happy until then I will hold my position IRONMIKE.

I tend to agree with most of that Si2018.
We bought Snodgrass, did we think we were buying Messi? From what I’ve seen he is trying really hard and playing pretty well but there is a lynch mob out for his blood! I seem to remember the beginning of last season Everton attempting to sign Yarmalenko and it was said West Ham have missed out. Now apparently he is a dead loss who we should never have touched with a barge pole! Granted some of the performances have been poor and we spent a lot of money, but I think you can see they are trying to play a better way. People have very short memories, With the exception of Bilic first season the football we have witnessed at the Bowlyn and the LS has been absolute dire with zero entertainment value.
Let’s get behind them and hope we start to see some attractive football and maybe the results will start going our way. Also if all we want is success it takes time as Klopp and Pep didn’t get it right overnight.

I hope We see an improvement in both performance and result. But I cannot be certain it will happen from Saturday. I think to look at it after 10 matches would be more realistic and fairer. And it could be that your opinion turns out to be spot on, I just want to see some of the players and the team given a chance to adapt to different style of play. I would love to see us actually win something, but for me, the bottom line is I want to see some good football and entertainment and hopefully win games in the process.

Interesting range of views. For me last night was a clear improvement. Yes, circumstances meant that we had all the possession and yes, we did not convert our chances well enough, but we are making chances.

The first 20 odd minutes v Arsenal we looked very good which shows we can compete. Arnie and Antonio going off had a disastrous effect. It’s consistency of performance we need as well as upping our defensive game, not to concede soft goals.

My view on individual efforts last night fall on the plus side for Yarmolenko, Anderson, Rice and, as the game progressed, Diop.

I am optimistic about at least a point v Wolves.

Get behind the manager and the team you lot. It’s early days yet.

Problem is my friends time passing is unforgiving games pass no points, Oh yes there settling in don't know their jobs properly etc etc, Ok a few more games drift past then we are I. Trouble c'mon we have all seen this before we are already starting to walk that path, so let’s see what happens against a very AVERAGE Wolves new, y promoted side this Saturday. IRONMIKE.

Yarmolenko just lacked the final ball or finish last night. If match fitness gets that back for him then we have a real player on our hands. Progress is clear, we haven't dominated a lower league side like that in ages and it would have been easier for us had they had 11 men. We dominated arsenal for a lot of the game, when could we last say that! You can see MP's style coming through, our defence needs time to gel together and our forwards need to adapt and be clinical.
Wolves is a huge game for us though, as we play the top 7 in our first 9 games. 5-7 points expected after 9 games is realistic for a team under such huge transition with many new players and our opening fixtures. Although I would love a big scalp from Spurs, Chelsea or Man Utd! After that we have 11 winnable fixtures out of 12. I'd rather we play the big teams while we are still adapting, then hopefully be up to speed for the winnable games.
Judge where we are after 10 games. Palace lost their first 8 last year and finished joint 10th.

Sorry guys I'm with Mike on this. I've watched Snodgrass live twice and on TV (full 90 mins) 3 times and whilst his effort is far better than his first half season his final pass and shooting is woeful. For someone of his experience remember he has played at a high level and international for Scotland the Premiership demands more now than ever. Let's hope he can improve

On a separate issue I thought Rice played well last night good passing and composed on the ball.

Look we have some decent players, no question about that, I’m just concerned of a nasty downward spiral as confidence sags, none of us wants to see this I am always hopeful, you have to be, to be a WH fan I just do not see what others saw against. A ten man league one side IRONMIKE.

Hi Mike you are spot on mate SNODGRASS is average at best if all you can do is pass to a teamate then why are you in the team and on 50,000 a week that's the least you can do name me one ball he played through their defence non and YARMOLENKO although not match fit has been in decline for 2 seasons and never once beat a very poor team I understand it's difficult to break down 2 banks of 4 but you have got to gave more about you than just putting hopeful balls in on a wing and a prayer 1 thing I will say 1 player I've boosted up on this site is really pissing me off and that's CHIQUARITO who's constantly looking for penaltys and either falling over or offside PEREZ was average you can't mark the defence but when asked to defend we were found out DIOP clearly needs game time and if he makes mistakes so be it the best players were RICE and ANDERSON when he came on and do you know what really gets to me on this site it's early days so give them time you don't get time in PREMIER LEAGUE and you shold be ready from the first game to the last and they are paid astronomical wages so come on people get real because losing games becomes more of a habit as winning and if they had 11 men for the 90 minutes I cannot say hand on heart we would have won that game and I'm sorry guys but it's just not good enough period so I'm with MIKE . COYI.
