Ed, got any insight into potential transfers?
Is it likely we will sign the stuttgard cb and wahi amd kudos?

Rumours around doku too? Seems too good to be true?

Also, are we interested in any lbs at all?

hammerdave

{Ed002's Note - Konstantinos Mavropanos (CB) Eintracht Frankfurt will make an offer to Stuttgart. Options include a return to London with West Ham - and apparently that would suit the player - and the price will be suitable.

Elye Wahl (LW/RW/S) Young Montpellier forward who is having a very good season but is perhaps not ready to step up to the Premier League, but there has been interest from the Championship and particularly QPR. Wolves, Crystal Palace and Everton have sent scouts to watch him at the behest of Mendes who is hawking him around and I suspect CP may make an offer although they have less need now. Eintracht Frankfurt see him as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani. Suggested Chelsea could sign him and ship him off the Strasbourg which makes some sense, but remains unconfirmed and the player does not want to end up in Alsace. The lady from Marseille has told Chelsea stay well clear of him and Chelsea may heed those words. West Ham offer another option and perhaps should heed her words as well. Union Berlin may follow up with another offer after one was rejected. A potential Openda replacement for RBL. Atletico have declared an interest. Wildcard may be Arsenal but it is hard to see where he will get game time. Moved to Lens.

Mohammed Kudus (AM) Everton were told by Ajax that he was not for sale last summer but interest may remain although the club have no chance of signing him. Ajax still don't particularly want to sell and would no doubt look for well over the odds if any offers were made. Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have a declared interest although I suspect Manchester United will concentrate on another player now. Eric ten Hag knows the player but he would be an eventual Bruno Fernandes replacement if the club were to look at him. Barcelona interest has likely gone. Seen as an option to Tielemans by Arsenal and I expect Arsenal to prioritise Kudus which may suit the player. Down the list of Mason Mount replacements for Chelsea - they have preferred options but are struggling to agree a replacement - but I suspect their focus remains elsewhere on another target or two first. A player watched by Brighton, Liverpool and Borussia Moenchengladbach with Brighton looking to him as a Mac Allister replacement - and pushing hard to get the player to agree a move after agreeing a €40M fee with Ajax - the issue is the demands of the player. West Ham fall in to broadly the same category where they should be able to agree a fee with Aja Ajax but perhaps not the player. Newcastle interest has gone. Ajax have identified a suitable replacement.

Jeremy Doku (RW) Bayern Munich turned their attention to him but have stepped back after being told an asking price by his agent that reflected Rennes paying over the odds for him - and Rennes do not consider him for sale. Aston Villa and Newcastle have a declared interest but I suspect it has gone from Newcastle now.. West Ham have made clear they can give him playing time which he may not get elsewhere. Liverpool had an interest in Doku when he was at Anderlecht. It was suggested to Arsenal that he would be a good replacement if they can off-load Pepe or Manchester City to replace Mahrez but they have been looking at others aswell. Offered to Chelsea as a Ziyech replacement.

Ian Maatsen (LB) Wanted by Burnley who have had an offer rejected. Discussed with Benfica during disciussions over another player. Other clubs, including West Ham, have spoken with his agent but not Chelsea who will not make a decision on his future until after pre-season.}

Thanks Ed. As always, great info.

2.) 19 Aug 2023 19:38:49
£5m difference between what we have offered Ajax and what they want for Kudus and he started tonight. Personally I think it's all smoke and mirrors. It will drag on and then Chelsea will buy him. It's like Monopoly with them! Question is, if the keep buying players are they going to have a fire sale at the end of the window?

3.) 19 Aug 2023 21:05:07
The first signs that kudus deal may well not happen, "West Ham want Genk’s ‘magical’ assist king Mike Tresor if Mohammed Kudus move fails"? ROMA AND RBL are also very.keen

15 Aug 2023 12:09:01
Supposedly the aquire deal has collapsed. What's the odds now that we make no attempts to find another cb and on the last day, moyes goes back in for maguire.

hammerdave

1.) 15 Aug 2023 14:23:41
Ha ha ha you know us far too well, except that we are now APPRENTLY (I say that with amusement because MOYES must be furious not getting MAGUIRE) looking at LEVERKUSEN Centre Backs Jonathon TAH and Odilon Kossounou. Apparently also pondering, mulling over moves for KUDUS, Brennan Johnson, Santiago Gimenez and uncle tom cobbly and all. I really like the sound of "UNCLE TOM COBBLY". Centre Forward in some remote league lol 15 days and counting and we need at LEAST 5 new players especially once PAQUETA (new bid in the pipeline I hear), Cresswell and Antonio leave

2.) 15 Aug 2023 14:25:32
Probably, but of course only if he gets his nice big fat hand shake from UNITED!

3.) 15 Aug 2023 14:41:21
Probably collapsed because Maguire couldn't find his pipe and slippers in time. Don't write it off just yet. It could be all smoke and mirrors. Wasn't the JWP deal off at one stage?

4.) 15 Aug 2023 16:24:10
lingard is training with us too, one could not make it up.

5.) 15 Aug 2023 16:31:11
Absolutely so the sooner we get an alternative the better lol

6.) 15 Aug 2023 16:39:09
Slab didn't even get a game when Utd under heavy Wolves assault yesterday; not even as sub.

7.) 16 Aug 2023 15:57:09
Maguire is indeed going to hang in at old Trafford for his gold clock etc.

8.) 16 Aug 2023 20:26:18
Apparently we are in for stuttgart C/B MAVROPANOS looks like a STEIDTEN move thank God let's see if MOYES try to block this one if we could get him he was at arsenal as a 20 year old and only played 8 games but watched him he's very strong but tends to dive in a bit that's the only criticism and it's a tiny one at that I'm not holding my breath on the KUDUS transfer as I think a bigger club will come in for him I'd love to be proven wrong but also will AJAX let 2 of their best midfielders leave.

9.) 19 Aug 2023 23:05:34
If we offer linger any deal even a year deal then MOYES has lost the plot.oh sorry he never had the plot.

10.) 23 Aug 2023 12:34:52
Maguire not acquired.small mercies springs to mind.

30 May 2023 09:11:55
Lots of rumours about ward prowse. What's your thoughts? Personally, I feel like we should be looking at better options. He's a great free kick taker, but not sure what else he offers. Thoughts?

hammerdave

1.) 30 May 2023 20:19:23
We shouldn't be anywhere near him. 29 this year, and in all honesty a typically bang average English player who's been hyped up by the media and various know-it-alls because he scored a few decent free kicks in the past.

Class players stand out, even in very poor teams and Ward-Prowse just doesn't stand out, even in a wretched Southampton team.

And £50 million quid?! You're having a laugh! I'd spit feathers even if we signed him on a free!

2.) 31 May 2023 12:41:39
I think he'd be a great buy

3.) 31 May 2023 13:18:23
I'm intrigued by your thinking, what makes you say he would be a great buy? What does he bring to any side, let alone ours that's worth the valuation?

Not trying to dig you out or anything, I'm just interested to learn what other people are seeing in him that I just don't.

4.) 08 Jun 2023 21:08:09
Hi Billy we have a lot of rubbish to clear out and Ward Prowse would be better than a lot of our so called players but 50mil is too much but 30mil i'd buy him
We got a great result last night but before we start looking at Players we need to ask ourselves do we want MOYES for another season

5.) 12 Jun 2023 00:42:00
£50 mill for a free kick specialist it's like special teams in american football bringing on your kicker lol no I'm with Dave he doesn't influence games enough for me and is the wrong end in the twentys for me I think we need a new scout as I think ROB NEWMAN is to have his role diluted.⚒⚒⚒

6.) 15 Jun 2023 08:55:51
It was easy for JWP to stand out in a relegation haunted Southampton. But he still then only looked average; and at 29 more likely to decline than improve really.

29 Jan 2021 12:43:24
Just seen there's a rumour about Billy Gilmore. Any news on this ed?

hammerdave

{Ed002's Note - No Dave. west Ham have made space for Lingard by signing Benrahma - there is no space for Gilmore on loan.}

1.) 29 Jan 2021 14:04:30
Unless they sign Dawson?

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

2.) 29 Jan 2021 14:19:14
Shame but thanks ed.

3.) 29 Jan 2021 20:15:19
Billy Gilmour would be a great replacement for Noble and could be very good cover for soucek and rice.

Don't think we would get an option to buy but a loan might pave the way for a future permanent transfer. He will get a lot more game time with us when we are in Europe next season.

4.) 29 Jan 2021 21:55:12
He’s the sort of player Tuchel might sell in the summer.

5.) 01 Feb 2021 21:26:04
I see man city have signed the Rochdale potential superstar.

27 Jan 2021 11:54:31
Has benhrama signed permanently?

hammerdave

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure that it has happenedyet, but may do soon.}

1.) 27 Jan 2021 14:54:37
C&H are now reporting that it is now done,

2.) 27 Jan 2021 15:51:03
Interesting that they chose the bigger spend on Benrahma instead of Dawson. I assume this early buy is to make space for Lingard on loan.

If Lingard signs, I can’t see us having the cash for the central striker we really need.

3.) 27 Jan 2021 16:11:41
Ive just read that Lingard is all for the move to West Ham. Also the father in law showed me a piece saying that Moyes/ the board were looking to use balbuana to get a young promising keeper, it was only a heading though so didn’t see the rest.
Ed is there any idea if Dawson is going to get a contract with us do you know?

{Ed002's Note - They must of recently had the conversation about sending Dawson back (expensive), signing Dawson (cheap) or signing Benrahma (future debt). If you had asked me at the start of the month I would have said the would bite the bullet and send Dawson back to Watford. The implication is now that he is playing regularly and everyone seems happy with him then it would make sense to take up the option and sign him at the end of the season. Financially it makes sense.}

4.) 27 Jan 2021 18:04:27
As it looks a done deal with Lingard on loan with the permanent signing of Benrahma, who makes way for him, Fornals?
Would have preferred we concentrate on help out for Antonio so hopefully that is in the oven as well? âš’âš’âš’âš’.

5.) 27 Jan 2021 19:08:06
I would have thought Dawson was the obvious one as he would be cheaper. But Benhrama we had to pay the money at some stage so maybe that was the logic, and leave the Dawson decision.

6.) 27 Jan 2021 19:56:35
Sdl, is it even a decision to sign Dawson so far, he’s been absolutely outstanding from the start? ⚒⚒⚒But odd decision given the finances involved, but Benrahma fee is in instalments as £21m due, so maybe next due season end at option date, whereas Dawson is one off being minimal, would be immediate? So that would pay for Lingard £3m loan fee, or am I 🥃🍺😂up? ⚒⚒⚒.

7.) 27 Jan 2021 20:47:10
Will Dawsons price go up now on the form he's in.

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the terms of the option that exists. Sometimes they are fixed, sometimes based on performance.}

8.) 30 Jan 2021 22:27:18
Thanx for clearing that up.

You just know that despite this, he'll be given a new contract.

hammerdave

1.) 11 Feb 2024 17:01:53
Yep, we know it, cause sullivan is spineless

11 Feb 2024 14:46:33
This os atrocious! How can the board not see it

hammerdave

1.) 11 Feb 2024 15:09:28
I'm heading home. Am sat in car on way home with my lad. I refuse to watch any more of this under david moyes. I'll not be going again as long as he is the manager!

2.) 11 Feb 2024 15:31:06
Me too. Just walked out.

27 Aug 2023 21:32:32
So question is, how would you get us to line up now?

hammerdave

1.) 28 Aug 2023 01:10:30
Areola
Coufal zouma aguerd emerson
Alvarez JWP paqueta
Bowen Antonio kudus
At present

2.) 28 Aug 2023 11:33:20
I think Mavropanos will get playing time pretty quickly at CB, or RB.

27 Aug 2023 10:57:08
How we all feeling today chaps.with being top of the LEAGUE!

hammerdave

1.) 27 Aug 2023 12:50:37
Struggling for oxygen.

2.) 27 Aug 2023 13:24:14
Nose bleed rofl more importantly, we put the ghost of BRIGHTON to bed

3.) 28 Aug 2023 01:14:06
Amazed, considering start of window but now very positive

11 Aug 2023 20:34:41
Now I'm not a maguire fan.but if a bids been made and been accepted, why is it taking so long? What's holding it up?

Now its said that he's still deciding. Why do we do this. We wait amd wait and wait and usually the deal collapses and its too late in the day to get someone else. Start giving deadlines. He's he's dithering now and unsure, why would we want him. He wouldn't be committed. Move on!

hammerdave

1.) 11 Aug 2023 22:27:59
I think you will find that it is Manu that are holding up the transfer, not Maguire. Apparently they want a replacement lined up before they will let him go.

2.) 12 Aug 2023 08:57:15
Yep and meanwhile we sit and wait. Forget him, go get Perr Schurrs

3.) 12 Aug 2023 09:01:22
Ah fair enough. Just semes to be taking an age

If we can get kudos, fofana to replace fornals, striker to replace scammaca and a left back we will look seriously good. I just can't see it happening seeing as it takes so long to get 1 player. I reckon it will just be 1 more player.

Yep. Should put an interim manager in now. Put the work in to get a decent manager in ready for the summer and use the next 4 months to identify targets read to bed in.
