So. I see we have had a 20 mil offer for Maia accepted? Is this the case Mike? Also, are we really after the 4portugeuse players?

hammerdave

1.) 02 Aug 2018 09:49:40
Yes. IRONMIKE.

2.) 02 Aug 2018 10:52:51
Is obiang still going Mike?

3.) 02 Aug 2018 11:02:38
Didn't think I'd ever say this but. well done dgs. If we get these 5 more players must be looking at close to 200 mil right?

4.) 02 Aug 2018 11:54:51
Maia is ON the Forward most wanted is Gomez however talks still ensue with Marega Brahimi Joao Mario Laxalt we have made bid for Joao Felix you must all appreciate it changes all the time so we shall see, OBIANG can still leave AFTER the window closes if he His to Sampadoria we are desperate to get rid of Oxford. IRONMIKE.

5.) 02 Aug 2018 12:21:56
Maia must be the priority. Another goal-scorer would be great, but we must toughen up our defensive mid to release Wilshere and Noble’s creativity.

6.) 02 Aug 2018 14:41:00
Yes that’s the idea. IRONMIKE.

08 Jun 2018 22:08:21
The problem with zelling for so much. other teams will see us to have money and them up their own prices. Keep Arnie and invest what we have whiskey. We could try to replace him but are we sure we could?

hammerdave

1.) 08 Jun 2018 22:14:02
Selling him is a big mistake in my opinion. Sets a precedent that one good season and then we will just sell our best players.

2.) 08 Jun 2018 22:41:49
they coming back with £65mill?
look at it this way-we started with £75mill
we fixed rb
we buy a pacy winger which we need-anderson
buy a great cm which we need-rafinha
sign another great cm as a free-wilshire
we addressed 3 key postions and still have the original £75mill
and we have hernandez waiting in the wings to start up top
so £75mill left for 2 cbs and a keeper.

3.) 08 Jun 2018 22:42:37
or another way
sign lacazette for around £40mill and sell arnie for £65mill
are we any weaker?
yet have an extra £20mill in the transfer kitty.

4.) 08 Jun 2018 23:01:34
that would be our two best players gone with lanzini's injury. arnie was unplayable up top for me and when was the last time we had a top all round striker pace power skillful, can create link play and can make his own chances too.

now if they want him that much we know they have silly money 65m sterling minimum.

I would take Rashford In a deal though he's been well underplayed by mou and it wouldn't be the first time he's got rid of young talent for them to become great players ie De bruyne.

maybe we could nab one of there cbs too as need major strengthening there too.

5.) 09 Jun 2018 06:30:05
Would arsenal sell us lacazette for 40 when they know we got 65 for Arnie? Doubt it. And also. who says no would get the extra 65? We know what dgs are like.

6.) 09 Jun 2018 07:58:36
I would ask has Lacazette impressed you? Would he or hernandez do what arnie does? We would 100% be weaker without him. This justs sets a bad precedent we don't need to sell our best player he is not at this point 'forcing' his way out he isn't near end of his contract. We should be putting a much higher valuation or just saying 'no thanks man utd'

7.) 09 Jun 2018 09:24:30
If rather go for dembele at Celtic if we are going for a striker.

8.) 09 Jun 2018 10:00:05
We were lucky NOT to get relegated and a lot of the reason was our Arnie, With Lanzini out, we will certainly struggle like STOKE did when they thought they could do without him This is 2 steps back to relegation. It takes time for new players to settle in, again remember Arnie in his first 6 games. let's change our our thinking and keep our best and get rid of the worse,

9.) 09 Jun 2018 12:15:29
Two things for me.

£65m for a 29 years old is a handsome sum to be fair. I want Arnie to stay but if we keep him and he loses his legs at 31 years of age like Rooney did, what we we get then? Money aside, I think even getting two years out of him would be worth keeping him.
Lacazette I believe turned his nose up at West Ham last time didn’t he? Why would we want him now and would he be committed?

10.) 09 Jun 2018 12:40:23
Lacazete is top class he hasn't been given enough game time he scored two goals in a game and was benched for the nezt his movement is superb and I would swap him for arnautovic that's my opinion. COYI.

11.) 09 Jun 2018 12:51:07
The board have to be really careful with selling Arni. If we sell him and then struggle next season like we did last season then their will be a riot. Putting themselves and profit before the the club's needs.

12.) 10 Jun 2018 07:03:45
Man U. will need to trim their squad, Mata could do a gt job for us. let's not forget JM sold him.

13.) 11 Jun 2018 12:16:43
Hiya RED ROBBO LACAZETTE is on a different planet to DEMBELE mate they are one a decent player and LACAZETTE is a world class striker. COYI.

17 Dec 2017 08:09:47
Mike. any truth in quina being sold next month?

hammerdave

1.) 17 Dec 2017 13:56:38
Hi dave I personally think Unlikely DGS look as if they are going to back Moyes requests and thoughts at both ins and outs, , Moyes is VERY pally with Tony Henry, and Henry thinks he has been put down over WH players and form previous to Moyes appointment;t, SO they are really scrutinising the squad. No question some are going to leave Now and in the summer ( Should we be safe ) ) Moyes is not particular about superstars he has a work ethic, and believes most of our squad ARE well up to the job But some are not , the players he wants may surprise a lot of our fans, but he doesn’t want prima donnas or spectacular signings, IRONMIKE.

2.) 17 Dec 2017 14:45:04
So, harry arter ish players?

3.) 17 Dec 2017 15:18:02
HES on top of the wanted list HOWEVER, will Bournemouth sell a very useful player in the winter and also to a. Club they may consider to be a relegation competitor? WH first enquiry only wasn’t well received IRONMIKE.

4.) 17 Dec 2017 16:32:50
A bit underwhelming, but could be what we need. Whos most likely to leave? Anyone we could get a decent fee for?

5.) 17 Dec 2017 20:36:37
I think sakho will leave. Personally I'd like caroll to go and for us to give Martinez a chance.

6.) 18 Dec 2017 11:59:46
If the sums going around regarding ARTER are true Mike then CARVALHO for another ten mill it's a no brained I know they play in different roles I don't think ARTER would improve our squad as we have players already at his ability we have to IMPROVE our squad not add to it with mediocre players in my opinion what's your view on ARTER Mike thanks mate. COYI.

10 Aug 2017 18:43:37
Mike, are wh after any cb at this time?

hammerdave

1.) 10 Aug 2017 19:11:39
Hey Mike,

Aside from Carvalho how many more signings do you see us going after? Would be nice to get another central defender before the window closes.

22 Jul 2017 16:05:31
Of we sign the players we are supposedly ready to sign. what do you think should be a realistic position to finish? I was thinking 10th. 9th or 8th.

hammerdave

1.) 22 Jul 2017 16:54:41
Single fidget finish be where we should be aiming.

07 Aug 2018 04:55:12
I think this window has clearly shown that the WHOLE squad needed changing. The fact that we have got 8 signings and still in need of more shows how lucky we have been to stay up over the last few years. I think we will need To least another two windows to try to get a squad together. The last few years we have had some ok players but no squad depth. Hopefully MP can get a decent squad together.

This year will be tough again I think. We need to be realistic as our we haven't got a competing squad at the moment. First 11 looks decent but we all know we need more.

Let's hope we get a couple of cm/ dmf in before Thursday and embed some of the youngsters in slowly.

hammerdave

1.) 07 Aug 2018 09:58:48
Couldn't agree more hammerdave. I think we are still missing that Defensive midfield lock up player who will sit in front of the back four. The player we get has to have pace in order to cope with the fast breaks teams have. Denilo and Maia would be my preferred choice but we are also being linked with Drinkwater and Sanchez.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 10:02:16
Not too keen on Sanchez. I'd take any of the others. Danilo and Maia would be my first choice to be fair. I think Drinkwater would be good too.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 10:33:23
I'd be happy with a top 10 finish and a cup run this year, pellegrini is building a team and that takes time, some signings will work some won't that's what happens when you sign so many in a short space of time.

4.) 07 Aug 2018 11:00:28
Yea agreed robbo. Will take time and a few more windows. Just would be happy for a stable season lol.

5.) 07 Aug 2018 12:19:50
Can’t argue with that, but the most important thing is that the change has started and we’ve got an excellent manager in MP who really knows what he wants and how to go about it.

6.) 07 Aug 2018 14:50:32
You know what you're right. Mp does seem to know what he's doing. He seems very composed and his experience is talking for itself in what he's done.

07 Aug 2018 04:52:27
So. that Moukoudi deal seems to be off. In all fairness I'm not too worried as we are covered at the back. Its the dmf I'm more concerned about. Mike. what are the chances of the following as we have been linked?
Maia
Drinkwater? - loan?

Is it that we just have no more money left in the pot without players leaving?

I'd love to get Drinkwater in on loan. Think he has a lot to prove and did amazing at leicester. If we could pinch that Maia too. imagine the midfield . Wilshire Drinkwater and Maia . would be solid.

hammerdave

06 Aug 2018 11:46:20
I was just thinking that all of our signings we should have a pretty decent season. I've just seen Fulham's signing. wow they're decent too. Think the standard has rise. Across the league. will be a tough season where anyone can beat anyone.

hammerdave

1.) 06 Aug 2018 12:19:49
Fulham have done which other promoted teams in the past haven't and that is sign quality.

2.) 06 Aug 2018 15:04:23
I think Wolves will be strong too, especially at Molyneux.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 07:17:39
Agree with all 3 posts on standard of signings especially for newly promoted sides. Is it any coincidence that they both have foreign managers as we do obviously, but of course you have to have the approval of your board to be able to spend. The foreign managers in general seem to have an eye for flair players. Which are always almost non GB players with exceptions of course! Hope we can shake Klopp’s foreign scousers up on Sunday ⚒⚒⚒⚒.

10 Jul 2018 21:04:58
What's happening with that CB from Brazil mile? Are we close?

hammerdave

03 Jul 2018 21:03:47
We bought fabianski for 7 and Sam Johnstone went to west Bromwich for 5 mil. Why weren't we all over this.

hammerdave

1.) 04 Jul 2018 09:07:25
Because for an extra £2m we got a Goalkeeper with more experience. We have Nathan Trott who will be better than Johnstone but needs a guiding hand . besides which imo Fabianski is better than Johnstone.

2.) 04 Jul 2018 11:00:18
Would love to see Trott as our number 2. Build for the future.

3.) 04 Jul 2018 11:02:56
I'm sorry dabber but Dave's right if you ask mefabianski isn't a big enough presence in goal and have you seen johnstone I'm amazed United let him go and that's not because he's no good I've watched him numerous times and he's good.

4.) 04 Jul 2018 13:07:19
It’s a matter of opinions yours Dabbers and mine don’t count only. MPs does. IRONMIKE.

5.) 04 Jul 2018 15:01:24
It does Mike and this games all about opinions and like u said mp's counts.

6.) 04 Jul 2018 17:24:16
He's younger and even if trotter is going to be better. look at resell value. I would of gone for him. Cheaper. Younger. More potential.

7.) 04 Jul 2018 20:15:24
Good point about the resell value Dave, hadn't considered that. Just hope Fabianski doesn't remain glued to his line like Hart or rush into no man's land like Adrian! 😉.

8.) 05 Jul 2018 08:58:26
Fabianski is a solid keeper, maybe not be the best around but for a few seasons he will be OK. If Adrian stays than hopefully MP will let them battle it out for the number 1 spot, i'm unsure if MP has made his mind up even though we have paid £7m

Its a shame for Joe Hart, but his been declining in my view for quite a while, I would have put my house on it that he was going to break Peter Shilton record for most capped England player, still that's the way life can change so quickly, I always remember what Roy Keene said years and years ago about Joe Hart, something along the lines of " There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance and in his opinion Hart crossed the line into arrogance, maybe that's when it started to go wrong for him. who knows!

Spurs are record breakers lol every team needs updating and refreshing even the best teams. You're only saying you didn't need anyone because you don't want to lose face when really. you wish you signed someone. No doubt you have a class squad. but again. new players add to competition. With this class squad you will need to win some silverware soon. Good luck though with the forthcoming season. will be a tough one for everyone.
