Those West Ham fans who were hoping that Xabi Alonso might be the new manager at the London Stadium next season, must be now be worried after Jurgen Klopp's announcement that he's leaving Anfield at the end of this season. Alonso must be in the frame as a possible replacement.

Alonso was never going to WHU in. Million years anyway

Don’t be too sure. I think he’d be tempted to get into the Premiership at the end of this season, and Tim Steidten would be a neck ahead of other clubs, apart from Alonso’s old club, Liverpool. They’ve now muddied the waters.

He isn’t going to leave a team currently challenging for the league and who will likely be in champs league next to come to West Ham mate. Real Madrid want him too, Bayern might want to replace Tuchel at the end the season, also ex clubs of his. Wherever he goes, they’ll be an elite club

You might be right in a year or two. He’s too inexperienced for Real, but Bayern is a stronger possibility. It’s all speculation, but I think you underestimate the pull of managing in the Premiership. Real Madrid will want him in a year or two if he continues with winning ways. Same for Bayern. Liverpool is the only ‘big’ club that might want him now to take a chance on him. His good relationship with Steidten gave us a possible chance because his favourites, Liverpool, already had Klopp. That’s all changed now.
All I’m saying is that WHU was a POSSIBILITY, but that has reduced somewhat now Liverpool is in the frame.

Inexperienced like Zidane was you mean? Or Xavi at Barca, or Lampard at Chelsea? All legends of the game like Alonso with an affinity to the club.

West Ham is a step down from Leverkusen right now. Bayern have won the league over there something 11 years in a row. What he’s achieving means he will be on any elite clubs shortlist

And how did that work out for them? Zidane was the only success story and you forgot to mention that he was an assistant coach at Real for a while before he took charge of the first team, so they kinda knew what they were getting. Xavi’s not exactly performing miracles at Barcelona and we all know Frank’s record in management. You forgot Steven Gerrard as an inexperienced manager. Didn’t he do well? Just saying I think clubs have learned from their mistakes. Don’t shoot the messenger!

I saw that Bayern lost to Werder Bremen last week in Munich! Werder's my team in Germany because I have family there. Bayern could upset the applecart and grab Alonso before anyone else can now that Liverpool have entered the frame. Who knows? Football is a funny sport.

The point I’m making is their lack of experience didn’t stop them getting a top job quickly. You stated Madrid won’t consider Xabi yet I’m pointing out Zidane suggests otherwise.

Alonso has far more experience than Zidane did at his point of approval, and unlike those failures mentioned I’d smashing it with an underdog team in a one team league

Yes, but Zidane was already employed by Real Madrid as assistant manager, so they were well aware of his abilities and shortcomings.
Anyway, this is going nowhere. Who knows what will happen now Liverpool will have a vacancy!

Irons87 are you aware that ancelotti has just signed a new two year contract at madrid!

As tinlegs said we had every chance of signing alonso until klopp decided to call it a day

And now it’s been announced that Xavi and Barcelona are parting ways at the end of the season! Isn’t football a strange world? ?

Stuttgart manager Seb Hoeneb could be a shout. Heard he has similar play style to De Zerbi.

Alonso feels like a pipe dream now, he has done that well that quickly he could definitely go to Liverpool. Only time will tell premier league is a differnt kettle of fish.

There are other managers out there that would get the best our of our attacking talent and youth coming through.

{Ed002's Note - SH certainly won't be moving to West Ham.}

I see that Alonso is now being quoted as the red hot favourite to replace Klopp at Anfield. Other contenders include de Zerbi and Howe.

I've heard that one before Ed and they've ended up at West ham.

What's your insight on that one? I had only came across him as I like watching videos that analyse managers tactics as sad as that may be.

{Ed002's Note - Fine, he will end up at West Ham then. Iwill try not to share anything again.}

Wasn't a dig mate, saying in general I've heard things as no chance in football then it's happened.

I was asking for you're insight as to why, other clubs looking ect.

{Ed002's Note - OK thanks.

Sebastian Hoeness (C) Has been at Stuggart since April 2023 and kept them up. He was available mid season after being sacked by Hoffenheim after poor performances. Suggestion was he only took the Hoffenheim job to get experience and prepare for a return to Bayern Munich as coach when the time is right.}
